Back from voting! And it couldn't have gone better. No lines, pleasant people (yes, they checked my ID), and nobody said a word about my not wearing a face diaper. I voted for the "Repub"-endorsed candidates and "No" on all the proposed amendments, esp. one giving the governor the right to appoint somebody who lives out of state for an education board of supervisors. I don't think this governor should have the "rights" he's usurped now; don't want to give him any more.
Ten minutes and I was driving back home. I should have asked them how the crowded it was on Nov. 3.

Let's examine that sentence. Technically, there are only "a couple" of rules, however, to make the math work out, the second rule only prohibits running with sharp objects AND no peeing in the pool. Therefore, one without the other is permitted.
Obviously, this is not the esteemed Mr. Humanitarian's intent. This should read "running with sharp objects, and no peeing in the pool", which not only correctly flaunts the blog's NoMath tradition, but keeps everything Bristol shape.

When you are done brewing your coffee, does the cup absorb all available light?
(I never thought of my coffee as being weak...just right though. I use the Keurig because it doesn't require me to think. Thinking when I wake up? Bad idea.)

I just have Keurig pods of ordinary Costco dark roast. I have a 20 oz. mug first thing in the morning after I see to the dogs, but that's pretty much it for the day. I tend to get the shakes if I have too much.

It does require a grinder to grind the coffee coarsely and a little bit more thinking than a Keurig, but I really love the taste of my morning coffee since I moved to making it in a percolator.

I used to use a French press, a stainless steel one that wouldn't break, until I got tired of fucking around tossing the grounds. Jerry's right that Keurigs are too damn small. I use some cheapo Mr. Coffee but might spring for a fancy shmantzy one some day.

Both could mean the same. Or the first sentence could be including "a communist" to describe the narrator's brother.
If you wanted to say that the brother was both a communist AND a despicable man, you'd write, "My brother, a communist and a despicable man, went to school at Oxford."

Pour water in the back, beans in the top, plug it in.
When you want covfefe let the grinder do its job, move the portafilter to the group head, push a button for either one, two shots or an americano.
Its actually easier than a Keurig, far cheaper than a Keurig, far more options, can regulate strength of cup, and the drink isn't some luke-warm, stale, plastic water dreck.

I remember back in the day that the wildly overpriced coffee was supposed to be the best thing.
Compare to Folgers crystals, yes.
What makes Jamaican Blue Mountain special is that it isn't. If you look at a cupping spider chart, the graph is almost a smooth circle which means that there is no character in the cup. None at all.
And that is what makes it a wildly expensive crowd pleaser. For a volcanic coffee, they over roast it, but most people like Vienna for a breakfast coffee.
The other problem with Jamaican Blue is that you can only buy it in its roasted state. Which means it isn't going to last long and after a few weeks will begin going stale. Once it goes stale, pretty much any other decent coffee will taste better.
For less than half the price (which is still three times more than fine coffees that cup in the mid 80s), one could get a Panama Geisha (cups in mid 90s), that will blow you away and make you wonder why you ever thought Jamaican Blue Mountain was so great.
JBM is very good for a breakfast coffee - just grossly overpriced due to the almost cult like following by Japan.
Enjoy your cup of JBM. Its probably better than what I'm consuming right now.

I can attest to this. I worked in Boun Ma Thuot for a project. Got so enamored with the coffee I had it shipped back stateside for a while.
I liked the fried chicken too. You would point to the chicken you wanted (which was generally running around the restaurant), and they caught it, plucked it and fried it. It was worth the wait because you couldn't get it any fresher. I had them do that in a couple places in China back in the stix too.

I use a Technivorm for my hot coffee and I also cold brew. The Technivorm brews at around 205 degrees. Right now I've been on a cold brew kick. I make my brew on Friday and steep it until Sunday when I strain it. It's concentrated and will last all week in the refrigerator.

I'm with you on this. I carefully select the coffees I want to drink and make sure that they are roasted exactly the way the bean and the brew require.
Cold brew is great if you want to store coffee syrup in the fridge for some coffee based concoction.
Cold brew also if you are digging around in the pantry and find a two year old can of Maxwell House and want to get some value more out of it than just mixing it in the compost pile.
But I want to extract the elements out of the bean that give it the full flavor, just make sure the bean is fresh to minimize the undesirable bitterness.

I grew up with Brooklynese's first and inbred cousin, the "Yat" accent/dialect. Every time I heard it I deducted 10 IQ points from my assessment of the speaker. Unless she was cute -- in which case I let it slide.

So I just put gathered the data for Pennsylvania in my Excel sheet and compared each of the largest counties to how they voted in 2016.
What stood out to me is that Trump actually gained votes in Philadelphia County compared to 2016.
He lost Philadelphia County by 475,277 votes in 2016.
He lost Philadelphia County by 471,050 votes in 2020.
(If Wikipedia vote counts are up to date.)
Trump won PA by 44,292 votes in 2016.
Trump lost PA by 81,660 votes in 2020.
A swing of 125,952 votes.
Here are the counties where Biden increased the most from 2016:
Allegheny: +63,142
Bucks: +37,652
Chester: +40,690
Delaware: +29,021
Lancaster: +24,754
Montgomery: +63,429
Meanwhile, in Philadelphia, where everyone seems to be focusing, Biden only had a 3% increase in votes from 2016 (+19,765). Almost every other county in PA, he had 20% or higher.
The same situation happened in Michigan. Wayne County (Detroit) was where Biden did the least improvement from 2016.
Is part of the Democrat fraud strategy to get Trump's Legal Team to focus on what seemingly would be the obvious areas of fraud -- big cities -- while they did their major fraud in every other area of the states?
So when they find no or little fraud in the big cities, they reject the effort to overturn the states. While they have hidden all their fraud in every other large counties in the states.

What do the margins matter? The point being asserted is that the numbers were changed by vast margins to give Biden the victory, despite his margin of loss being enormous.

Bottom line, if you don't live in one of the affected states, there's nothing you can do.
And also, this is all out of Trumps hands as well, its up to state legislatures, inferior courts and SCOTUS at this point.
Unless and until a couple hundred thousand people descend on the state houses of the affected states, nothing is really going to move the needle.
So who's organizing that?
I know there is a Trump rally in GA today, that rally needs to happen at the Governors mansion and state house.

Thomas Bender... the Governor's office is at 1-404-656-1776 and the SoS number is 1-404-656-5030. I will not bother passing on the Lt. Gov's number because they do not answer and the mailbox is full (at least every day last week it was).
The Governor's staff will eventually answer and it has been tremendously cathartic yelling at them every day. The SoS's office will sometimes answer and sometimes not.

With mail in voting, you know what goes out, you know what comes in and with extended deadlines you can make up any difference you need.
The only path to a honest and secure vote starts with a physical person, with ID, casting a physical vote, under the watchful eyes of partisan observers.
We also need an EC structure superimposed on the states themselves to blunt the fraud factor of large cities.

Wisconsin also has a really good system, it was developed specifically to make it difficult to cheat. Problem is some counties didn't follow guidelines. I guess that part makes the system faulty.

Well, shit, what I just did this morning in Excel was done by someone apparently weeks ago (11/16/20 is the report date) already.
Well, at least I know my analysis is good, as this report comes to the same conclusions as I did with the comparison to county results in past elections.

Plus, didn't Florida and Ohio finish their counting of mail-in votes the night of the election? I don't think they allowed for extra days/weeks after the election to continue counting/finding ballots.
