there are some of those mysterious small accounts that show up, now saying that the Iranian nuclear guy was not killed but instead defected, and this is a huge game changer since he's going to spill about what's been going on in Iran and members of O administration. As a consequence, they are saying that Biden is cooperating in exchange for clemency for Hunter, that the "broken foot" thing was an excuse to bring him in to make the deal. So--big grain of salt. Trivia: Rettig in real life, after leaving acting, got into computers and was instrumental in creating DBase Plus, the first commercial user database package. "How many of them have been forced to plow under their fields, or slaughter their livestock, or dump their milk?"
I've seen none of that on farms around me ... but I guess some that depend on other workers may have had issues. The slaughterhouses shut down in only a few cases ... I think. Dairy is a daily production thing, so any break in the chain is a problem ... same with poultry, whether eggs or meat. A big issue was the government offered such rich unemployment benefits (to keep spending high I guess) that low wage workers wanted to stay home for months ... unemployment paid better. I thought Dunkirk was an incredible movie. It's kind of depressing reading reviews from people who thought it sucked because it was hard to follow. No it wasn't hard to follow, it was pretty fucking obvious what was going on when if you paid attention. But I guess it's hard to do that watching teh movie while Tweeting about it.
Posted by: Asshoes at November 30, 2020 11:45 AM (22mNy) +++++++++++++++ I really enjoyed that movie. It was worth seeing in the theater, back in the before times. Chris Nolan is an exceptional visual storyteller and he really came through with Dunkirk. So did Hans Zimmer. There is almost no dialogue in the movie, and the score does a huge amount of heavy lifting, far more so than in a normal movie. And to his credit, Zimmer really delivered on the soundtrack. He had been sliding into derivative works of his prior great scores for a while, but he pulled out all the stops for Dunkirk. I watched all of True Blood a few years ago with my girlfriend. At first I just didn't want to be bored, but I really liked it. Blue Oyster Cult's new album has a song called "Tainted Blood" about a vampire who wants to die after his immortal beloved drinks tainted blood and dies. It's really sad because you kind of feel for him, and that reminds me of some of the vampires (Bill, specifically, but there were a couple others) who were likable and didn't enjoy their fates.

Is true. Fraiser and Cheers are two long running shows that ended satisfactorily for most people. I have no problems with them. After spending 10 years with a show, most people want to have a nice tidy wrap up where you feel good about it. Still my favorite endings of all time were Newhart (silly) and Sopranos (not a sitcom).

"my mom has had it up to here with the local pastor. Just yesterday, she
included in the prayers at church a wish that all the recent deaths would make everyone see the need for a mask" Most churches are institutional structures ... as with government, there is power in an establishment structure, with top down controls. Jesus saw that with the Pharisees and their legalism. Apostle Paul fought that in even the smaller new "churches"... localized groups that constantly went astray. The founders managed to set up a limited central power structure, and we see that decaying from within as the individual is marginalized, forced into PC group think. Police state authority enforcing that is evil. (government workers love it) Churches tend toward centralized power, but then they become "whited sepulchers", dead on the inside. All the members have to be actively involved to keep the church alive and vibrant .... hard dogma is easier. Personal confrontation of ministers is healthy ... take two or three with you, if necessary. Posted by: illiniwek at November 30, 2020 12:06 PM (Cus5s) 375

JamesMadison: It was definitely in a retrospective review - I have apparently comingled them... I thought that review was during the final episode. Either way, the song fit and it still gives me a tremendous sense of loss when I hear it. For years, it WAS the time of my life.
In the 90's my wife and I were going to school at night, working full time, and after the schooling we studied at night for the CPA exam. The only break we never missed was watching Seinfeld. It went off the air, we passed, she left, all in the space of a year. Posted by: 496 at November 30, 2020 12:08 PM (U1eOr) 378

My guess is the left, as a way to discredit anything related to fraud. Lump it all in as crazy conspiracy theories.
Posted by: Asshoes at November 30, 2020 11:50 AM (22mNy) Pretty much this. They have one crazy-assed conspiracy theory that can be disproven, which then means anything at all about fraud is #deboonked. Posted by: clutch cargo at November 30, 2020 11:53 AM (8B6Ng) ---- I feel like a lot of conspiracy theories serve a purpose like this. They serve to make anybody talking about an issue look crazy to take the real aspects of said issue off the table. It's like how the birther conspiracy stops people from talking about actual shady things in Barry's background, or 9/11 conspiracies stop us from talking about Saudi influence Posted by: Biggs Darklighter at November 30, 2020 12:09 PM (LZ7Gl) Posted by: Ian S. at November 30, 2020 12:09 PM (ZGrMX) 381
WalMart says masks are required, but there is no enforcement. Menards enforces it at the door, not after that. Aldis has no enforcement and the workers wear them below the nose.

I always thought this should be the ending of the serial of those six weirdos at the Central Perk.
______________ Their ending was a little different: Rachel gets dumped by her husband for another woman he met at work; Joey fails at his next acting venture, has an affair with a co-worker, gets divorced; Ross screws a bunch of porno actresses and then marries somebody; Chandler goes in and out of drug rehab and keeps getting fat; Monica gets divorced and becomes a single mom; and Phoebe lives happily ever after with her hubby and kids. there are some of
those mysterious small accounts that show up, now saying that the Iranian nuclear guy was not killed but instead defected, and this is a huge game changer since he's going to spill about what's been going on in Iran and members of O administration. As a consequence, they are saying that Biden is cooperating in exchange for clemency for Hunter, that the "broken foot" thing was an excuse to bring him in to make the deal. They can set the conditions for inviting you into their property, just like you can set them at your house. If you don't follow their rules, you are invited to leave or denied entry. If you won't leave or try to enter you are trespassing. Its not really about the mask per se. I watched an episode of it not long ago, on YT I think. My God how the fuck did crap like that make in on TV? lol. The 80s were so awful for TV. I was a kid then and was all into A Team, ALF, Knight Rider, Silver Spoons, all that stuff. But looking back on it now, it's unwatchable.

Apologies if other commenters have mentioned this, but: another way we know they're not serious at all is that there are NO standards for the masks we're supposed to wear. Not "woven polyethylene of a thickness of at least 0.9 mm"; not "woven cotton fabric of at least 200 threads per square inch".
There's no regulation except "cover your face". You can wear a mask or a scarf or a bandana or a nylon stocking. If they wanted something that was EFFECTIVE, they would specify something effective; as I understand it our Noble and Right-Minded CDC tells us that masks aren't effective (except possibly the N-95 units) but we should mask up anyway. With something, anything. Because of {mumblety-mumble} and we want you to demonstrate for us that you'll comply with nonsense diktats.
