I'm not a fan of cats, though I tolerated them around the house when I was married because the Kids liked them. One thing about cats, they are descended from big, vicious hunting cats that hunted ancient human beings. And so you just know that when a cat is looking at you, he's thinking: "Man, oh, man, I really wish it was a million years ago. I'd eat your throat, bitch!!"
Dogs, on the other hand. Descended from scavengers who fed off the remains of the big cats' kills. Love dogs, but they've not got the smarts of cats. Posted by: Sharkman at November 20, 2020 08:16 PM (BM2fS) 158

Apt super came to my old gf with an abandoned cat left in an empty apt. Poor thing was catatonic, a brick. GF kept her on her lap, loved and fed her, and she grew into her new name, blossom. Several moves later, as I would arrive at GFs house, blossom would hear the motorcycle, run out to greet me, weave between my legs, arch playfully like an inchworm. Healed. Beautiful.
She moved back to wisconsin, and the first winter blossom wanted outside! When the door opened to reveal six feet of snow, she just sauntered back inside disgusted. California cat did not like janesville winters. Posted by: Banned at November 20, 2020 08:18 PM (DPqb/) 168

RE: Thanksgiving COVID orders, Bozo Conservative and I talked about this today in a roundabout way.
Perhaps now is the time to take a stand with those you know, including your relatives. If they are Karens, and are fully OK with the nightmare that Biden will put us into, you might want to think twice about inviting them to your Thanksgiving meal. Or even telling them about it. Or even talking to them, since all it might do is enrage you. That's where I'm at now; there are people who I just can't talk to due to their overbearing self righteous liberal stupidity. Until our National Nightmare is over, it might be best not to have certain people in our lives and to do a bit of a relationship quarantine. Looking at some of the cooked COVID numbers for Colorado and several things lead me to believe that we are nearing a substantial level of herd immunity.
In my opinion, if the lockdowns and mask mandates are doing anything, it is to delay the eventual achievement of herd immunity. Clutch,
Rex Applegate was a trainer for OSS and was a compatriot of Fairburn and Sykes (SAS trainers). Later the Kill or Get Killed covers rudimentary unarmed self defense aimed at mayhem for the unskilled, his later chapters deal with riots and how to quell them from a security advisor standpoint. Applegate spent a fair amount of time in troubled places. Later, when he was elderly, some mugger tried to jump that old man who had only a cane. Applegate whipped his butt with that cane because he knew how to fight with one. Irish did quite a lot with shillelaghs when banned from firearm ownership by the Brits. Most people (99%) will shake this off; Shibumi did. But if you have some other medical issue, the odds change. Diabetes, asthma, cancer chemotherapy, heart issues, etc. That plus Covid can be dangerous. My blood/oxygen level was really low (80-82%), felt nauseous and without appetite, and was getting weaker. Me: *rants about how the figures are overblown and it's all fearmongering and political theater etc.* Mom, emphatically: "Well, we should just quit talking about it." Me: "Okay, well, Thanksgiving is off, then." Mom: "Well, no, I'm going to go ahead." Me: "Well, that's why we were talking about it." 538 Silver Spoons is on Roku. My lord 80s shows were awful looking back on it. Yiiiikes.
Posted by: Asshoes at November 20, 2020 09:19 PM (qE9bS) some were dumb, but what about the alternatives? If you do a deep dive, there were probably better sitcoms in the 70s and even the 90s. But now the art is dead other than Last Man Standing. I think there were some good ones in the 80s. It is funny and also sad to watch ANY sitcom from ten years ago or later. If you drink every time they say something problematic, you will be drunk in quick order. At least there is Last Man Standing. I recall liking Silver Spoons. But when I think of Rick Schroeder I think of Lonesome Dove. The Office was a good show, and I have seen it many times. But there is something about it. The dialogue is particularly unmemorable. It is like Friends in that the dialogue doesn't stick with you. Compared to Wings, Frasier, and NewsRadio, well, there is no comparison. White is famous for two things, both against Washington. One, running a play on 4th-and-1 and the RB got stuffed. He was supposed to not run a play but to try to draw Washington offside with a hard count. Washington didn't bite. Tom Landry's on the sideline apoplectic going, "No Danny! No!".
The second was in the 1982 Championship when Dexter Manley made good on his promise to "ring his clock" [sic]. Knocked him out cold. The 2nd half he's on the bench counting Tweety birds. Skins won 31-17, and advanced to the Super Bowl where John Riggins made his reputation with that splendid 43 yard TD run on 4th-and-1. In all fairness, White wasn't a bad QB. Danny White is one of the most hated Cowboys quarterbacks...by Cowboys fans.
Posted by: Gref at November 20, 2020 09:28 PM (AMIL/) That is a commentary of Cowboys fans, not White. Cowboys fans have been very lucky over many decades in that they had high caliber qbs like Merrideth, Staubach, White, Aikman, and even Dak. There are franchises who have been around a lot longer that had fewer top tier qbs. Check out the Washington Football team. They had Baugh, Jugenson, Thiesman, and well, that is about it. Cowboys fans can be the most ungrateful fans. The ones in Texas are much more critical of the team than the ones in other states. JMO but years of experience. The new Supreme Court assignments look good for Statutory authority. And government officials overstepping it. Cheating. Voting efforts run by Democrat cities and counties. They are getting caught. Seriously, do you think that all ballots in the counties of Milwaukee and Madison were legal votes? Yeah, I'll take that bet they are not. They did it in PA. They tried to do it in WI, and got caught trying to change the rules in a meeting. Jack Prosobic live streamed the meeting last night for 5 hours, got 1 million views, and the WI committee that was trying to change recount rules was shamed and defeated. That is grass roots power in action. Shine the light on these cockroaches. In WI, in 2018, about 14,000 votes for shut-ins were tallied, and in 2020 over 169,000 shut-in votes were returned. Democrats and Progda says it was cuz Governor Tony decreed it, but the state law says only the legislature has that power to change the voter law. These are the votes the Trump campaign is paying $3 million to re-count. And no cheating this time, a Trump watcher is reviewing every ballot, behind a plexiglass partition. And they are also checking and setting aside any ballot where the ink of the address is different from the filled circles. And other anomalies. These ballots were just rushed through on early Wednesday AM on the 4th. You know, the way ballot watchers were not allowed to operate on Election night like they have a right to by Law. Wisconsin is currently about 20k votes down for Trump. Posted by: LeftCoast Dawg at November 20, 2020 09:34 PM (sy5kK) 624

So despite the ups and downs of today (particularly Kemp showing exactly who he is), today was not a bad day for the President. One of the most corrupt and fraud riven cities is not certified and the fit-pitching by the MI SoS has been a lovely sight. Dominion skipped out on the PA legislature causing them to vote for a mandatory audit in PA (not that that really matters since I expect SCOTUS will nuke their mail-in votes from space). AZ still hasn't finished counting and Ducey announced (yesterday) there would be no certification there until all lawsuits were resolved.
So buck up backaroos... keep calling your legislators and your Governors and go to any protests you can. To keep it in the football vein, the Deep States guiding principle for the fraud was borrowed from Al Davis, Just Win Baby. In WI, in 2018, about 14,000 votes for shut-ins were tallied, and in 2020 over 169,000 shut-in votes were returned. Democrats and Progda says it was cuz Governor Tony decreed it, but the state law says only the legislature has that power to change the voter law. And this is the case in many of these pivotal states-- courts or executives changed these things unilaterally, extending deadlines, eliminating verification requirements. Much of this can't be considered proper, and we're going to have SCOTUS going over most of these changes to see if they were properly made. It is 2,349. He has lost PA (again). Posted by: Hans Donker at November 20, 2020 08:02 PM (BmO9j) Yep. It was on Today's Morning Report. The thing is, that can be applied to every county. Alleghany county includes Pittsburgh, so it might be something like 10% of the state. It remains to be seen how many other counties have a proportionate problem. Maybe Philadelphia is proportionately BIGGER, for all we know. Trump is down somewhere around 54k, last I heard, so it seems dubious that it will flip the state by itself, but you never know. That being said, it doesn't take too many such victories to get there. But it sounds like the Big Votes will be throwing out votes that were kept out of view of observers. In fact, I get the impression that that's the whole ball game. Mystery votes showing up in the middle of the night, with to explanation or observers? Illegal, gone. Votes counted with Republican observers "corralled" 50 yards away? Illegal, gone. Mail-in votes with no signature check or observers? Illegal, gone. Overvotes? Illegal, gone. I think the overvotes alone might do it in MI. I think even just the "middle of the night" votes are enough in WI & PA. MI, WI, & PA are enough to get over 270.
Posted by: President-Elect Optimizer at November 20, 2020 09:41 PM (hOOi9) Yes, and I don't believe the idea that Trump has to find the correct number of fraudulent ballots to overturn the result is correct. Multiple counties with 4 am vote dumps that are all mysteriously for one candidate? Somehow they "lost" all the outer envelopes that were supposed to have signatures verified but still counted all those votes? Monitors forced to use binoculars to try to see anything? 661 A discussion we had years ago on an ONT was the pairings of reserved, square coaches with flamboyant players who got along and succeeded with each other: John Wooden/Bill Walton; Tom Landry/Hollywood Henderson; Joe Gibbs/Riggo; Tony Dungy/Warren Sapp; Phil Jackson/Dennis Rodman.
I'm sure there are others, but those are some of my favs. Posted by: logprof, happily unembarreled at November 20, 2020 09:40 PM (oZuI0) Tom Landry/Duane Thomas (RB) is probably the All-Time Number 1. Do you think it's possible the Feds are working on this too? We did hear that people were assigned to election fraud, and they also got rid of the guy who was blocking everything. And I just can't see Barr totally ignoring this thing.
I'm pretty sure they are. I'd love to know why Barr went to visit McConnell. But I also think Trump has been using other assets to watch. I doubt his 2018 EO on election infrastructure was just a random idea. And the moves he made at DoD to take the Pentagon brass out of the reporting loop for Special Forces seems interesting, particularly with Ezra Cohen-Watkins in place over there. I have a ton of respect for Powell but I just can't see her unraveling this thing so fast without some outside help and I don't think whistleblowers can explain all of it. She's fingering Obama and Brennan, that has to be coming from inside. Posted by: JackStraw at November 20, 2020 09:42 PM (ZLI7S) It seems reasonable - that Trump is hiding some cards. I thought it was the CIA chief that had a mysterious visit visit to McConnell. Did Barr have one too, or am I mistaken? The rest of this just reminds me of the server mission in Frankfurt, where Powell said she didn't know if the "good guys" or the "bad guys" got it. But think about that - by all accounts the US military (presumably Special Ops) seized it. So that - right there - suggests that there are "bad guys" in the US military, and ones that knew to look for a server there. ( She started out as an RN, then a guy turned her sadly.) As a manly man, I had taken on the responsibility of feeding and taking care of said tuxedo cat that was named George. When I happily moved out after her transgressions, I told her I was taking George and that was final. Judicial notice is a way of shortcutting tedious prove of things that are not reasonably disputed. If you are facing the Sun and it is setting, you are facing west (roughly). Without judicial notice that the Sun sets in the west, you'd have to bring in a scientist to prove what we all know. Also, let's say you want the court to consider an out-of-jurisdiction statute on some relevant point. You provide a copy of the statute and if it appears in order, the court takes judicial notice of it (subject to the other side formally disproving it). Judicial notice prevents litigation from getting bogged down in pointless minutiae.

Could be. She seemed to indicate today that the good guys have it. Last night a picture was tweeted out of her and General Flynn at the Trump campaign HQ. It just seems that Trump has known since election night that he won big and it was being taken. With the speed things are moving it just seems she's getting some assistance from somewhere.
