Monopolies Google, FaceBook, and Twitter Are Coordinating Their Censorship Policies In An Illegal Cartel

One of the actions that a monopoly can take that will get it prosecuted for anti-trust violation is secret coordination with other monopolies to price-fix or otherwise rig the marketplace.

Monopolies acting in concert to determine what may be said, and which parties are allowed to win the White House, is obviously that sort of acting in concert.

Josh Hawley grilled Zuckerberg about whether FaceBook engages in this sort of illegal market-rigging.

Hawley said that his office was recently contacted by a former Facebook employee who claimed that an internal program called Tasks is used by the company "to coordinate projects including censorship."

"As I understand it, Facebook censorship teams communicate with their counterparts at Twitter and Google, and then enter those companies’ suggestions for censorship onto the Tasks platform so that Facebook can then follow-up with them and effectively coordinate their censorship efforts," Hawley said.

Zuckerberg acknowledged that it's not unusual for workers within Facebook to speak with their peers at other companies, but denied that there was any coordinated decision on what content should be unilaterally banned.

"Senator, we do not coordinate our policies," he said. "I think it would be probably pretty normal for people to talk to their peers and colleagues in the industry. … But that’s different from coordinating what our policies are, or our responses in specific instances."

Hawley's whistleblower says that Zuckerberg is lying, and that the companies do coordinate their censorship policies:

Update: Over the weekend, Twitter hate-mobs attacked a Star Wars voice actor over his Parler account. They threatened his career and claimed he was a racist until he deleted the Parler account.

Question: Given that Twitter is a monopoly, and is a huge censor, doesn't twitter's permissiveness about hate-mobs using Twitter to cripple Twitter's main competitor raise anti-trust flags?

It's not like Twitter can plead Free Speech. They can't say "We allow users to say whatever they want." They don't. They're absurdly controlling cenors.

And yet they allow Twitter wolf-packs to intimidate people away from using Twitter's competitor Parler.

Interesting. Legally interesting, I think.

Of course he refuses. Because he knows Josh Hawley and the rest of the US government, let alone any other country's government, are not going to do anything about it.

Until there are actual consequences for breaking the law, people are going to continue giving the finger to people like Hawley and continue breaking the law.

Amazing how Democrats in DC now feel comfy demanding people be banned or ideas censored out in the open, huh? No way they weren;t/still are doing more of this behind the scenes. For example, the MA SoS has Dr. Shiva's twitter account suspended when he questioned the MA Senate primary handling.

68 Lot of people fundamentally don't understand that many of those leading these companies aren't even Americans, and those that are, are doing the whole "citizen of the world" shit.

Google's "don't be evil" morphed into "don't get caught" more than a decade ago. The entire company is one giant ball of rampant, deliberate lawbreaking. Seasoned through with a near-total lack of ethics. It's a weird combination of silicon valley radical progressivism and Indian (dot not feather) corruption.

Anyone remember that whole kerfluffle when Chrome first came out, where terms of service indicated anything displayed on the browser became Google's intellectual property? How a lot of people blew that off as ridiculous? It wasn't ridiculous, it was and is their internal position, and they have been acting accordingly ever since. And anything and everything they can scrape is presumed to be in the public domain.

We seem to talk about how "they" stuffed the ballot box between 3 and 4 a.m. in all these battleground states, but who is "they?" I'm curious as to exactly what word you would use ... I guess you meant "Fascism" maybe ... socialism, communism, totalitarianism?

I think it is a globalist cartel, like a bunch of crime families carving out their turf maybe, but run from the shadows by a few oligarch families. It doesn't fit neatly into any terms used for organized government, commie or otherwise.

100 million or so Americans throw a chunk of their paycheck into Korporate Kommie Klan efforts every week ... and most of their gains are in these tech giants, where BigTech has aligned with shadow government and even China, and spies on everyone. So Bezos and the Zuck can lie freely to congress ... they own it. (they are puppets imo, but they are protected by the shadow bosses they serve)

A government takeover of these entities would at least be more honest central control, but maybe there is some ATT style break up possible, idk. They cannot be allowed to continue censorship and punishment of all patriots ... which has been amazing so far in its effectiveness at destroying our liberty almost overnight (with DeepState coordination).

It's nice to see the exact mechanisms they use, when people leak these kinds of things.

But anyone who uses the internet (i.e., everyone) knows this is happening. They might not know specifically how it's happening, but that it's happening.

Even if you're pretty apolitical, you know it. You know that the FANGs, et.al. listen in on all your calls and monitor all your web traffic to target you with specific ads and articles about all kinds of things, and politics is a thing.

If someone says "oh no, not us, never. In this one single area, we don't ever break any rules or social norms and we run a totes clean operation that respects our users," every person who hears that knows it's a crock.

BTW, Epoch Times is reporting Ducey grew some balls and announced this morning that AZ would not be certifying any votes until all law suits were settled. Citizens of AZ need to call and praise him for that but also ask that he go further and actually investigate the fraud in Maricopa County and elsewhere.

Morons in GA need tpo also keep calling Kemp's office and demand a special session to reject Raffesperger's unconstitutional consent decree and have a recount that actually checks to see if votes were legal. Also call your legislators and demand the same.

Morons in MI you need to be burning up the phones of your legislators and demanding they choose electors in the face of obvious fraud in Detroit and now death threats against Republican election officials in Wayne County. Most especially call the President of the Senate and remind him that only legal votes count toward the popular vote for President and demand he act on the obvious fraud in Detroit that pumped illegal votes for Joe Biden into the total. Tell him flat out that the legal vote went to Trump and you expect him to follow the legal votes.

Near-absolute power corrupts near-absolutely. These people are drunk with their own power, listening in on and cataloguing anything they damn well please - packaging it, and selling it.

==================
It's tougher than this not to be tracked. Every car now made keeps internal records of travel and many communicate constantly with the manufacturers servers. Many drivers use an EZ Pass device, and there are now scanners well away from highways that track those signals, and not for toll purposes but just for tracking. Cameras are everywhere and cities are running facial recognition software constantly. For proof of this, look how fast the Capital Police were able to track the San Francisco vagrant who pooped in Nancy Pelosi's Pacific Hts. driveway and find him in the BART station downtown. The Capital Police called the SF transit police and had them pick the guy up. In NYC recently, the NYPD was able to arrest the guy who sucker-punched Rick Moranis, based solely on a poor video image where the assaulter was wearing a covid mask!

All this adds up to a difficult problem, when you don't want to be surveilled and tracked: 1) don't take electronic devices with you, 2) don't drive your car, and 3) plan your route in advance to avoid cameras and wear a mask that fully covers your ears and wear a hat plus sunglasses to obscure your forehead and eyes.

This is in my lane.

Doing this will throw off casual investigation like LEO's. It might or might not work against the IC depending on how careful you are with other things.

It will not work *at all* against Google unless you never have the battery in the device and only use it in random parking lots in a careful manner, mooching off free-wifi, and never within range of any personal devices that are wifi/bluetooth enabled. Otherwise they WILL pin the device to either you or your household. A massive amount of information gets inferred by proximity to other things that are broadcasting, IP's, etc.

JFK banging East German spies, mob girlfriends and everthing in the secretarial pool was unpresidential.

No, I don't think you really get what I'm saying. Not the oil barons; not just influence. Real, raw power, though information. Like East Germany squared. This isn't an anti-trust problem, this is a national security problem.

"All this adds up to a difficult problem, when you
don't want to be surveilled and tracked: 1) don't take electronic
devices with you, 2) don't drive your car, and 3) plan your route in
advance to avoid cameras and wear a mask that fully covers your ears and
wear a hat plus sunglasses to obscure your forehead and eyes.

Posted by: Huck Follywood, Fopps News Sucks at November 19, 2020 12:34 PM (szqvX)"

There are also active measures you can take to dick with cameras, but they'll obviously draw attention after a short while. And all the mask stuff won't help you if you piss off someone with the resources to do stuff like gait analysis.

Other important bits; you can't go there in person prior, ever. More people get busted by how they look up information, not from anything trail they leave on site. And be wary of instances where *not* having a device on you will stand out. The highest levels of security will include automation watching for people casing the place as well as devices that can detect observation by things like binoculars from quite a ways off.

Indeed. This is classic cartel behavior, and I think that it, along with some companies' monopolistic nature, is the correct target.

We can righteously fuck up these companies under existing US law, without going to the Section 230 option, potentially sweeping all kinds of more-or-less good faith operators up in the tide.

The guy who runs this place, for instance, would be in a world of trouble if Leftist DC bureaucrats were to start busting people for their comment moderation.

Not that either approach is likely to happen or work, but at least restraint-of-trade and anti-trust actions are well-tread ground, and walking it again won't substantially expand government's existing powers.

Justice Department Sues Monopolist Google For Violating Antitrust Laws

Today, the Department of Justice - along with eleven state Attorneys General - filed a civil antitrust lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to stop Google from unlawfully maintaining monopolies through anticompetitive and exclusionary practices in the search and search advertising markets and to remedy the competitive harms. The participating state Attorneys General offices represent Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, South Carolina, and Texas.

Reholding a state election can be done if the Legislature will vote for that. slam dunks which way? Although I add that in this highly politicized and corrupt climate, nothing can be a slam dunk either way right now.
Posted by: Tom Servo at November 19, 2020 12:48 PM (Kpl3J)

Well in theory, for us. In Wisconsin, absentee balloits have to be applied for, they can't be sent out unsolicited. A 60k mismatch between applications and absentee ballots turned in seems like an obvious issue.

PA, they've disregarded the SC order and commingled late ballots and back-dated some in. I don't think they can really make a defense other than saying we can't throw out votes because reasons, there's not actually a viable legal defense where they can say it didn't happen. The non-severability clause, in theory, ought to mean they're tossed out since they most mail-in ballots would no longer be legal.

If the law were adhered to, those two absent any other questions of fraud, ought to be wins.

Yeah that's the only real hope of a fictional modern American resistance in this novel. The fact that there's such a gigantic volume of information constantly flooding in that they cannot find things quickly enough to act effectively on it.

But every member would have to start out with the knowledge that they will eventually be caught. That the law enforcement and intelligence is so fast and so good that they will eventually find you.

They won't find everyone, but they will find most, and its best to start out with this assumption of "I will do the most I can before then" and face them with courage and conviction.

565 I have been beating this drum for a long time. I think the correct answer to this is antitrust and breakup. Some of these businesses (social network in particular) *depend* on effective monopoly status as the network effects don't work otherwise. That is okay. We can break them up cyclically as the problems surface.

But what I don't want is reams of new regulation, social media fairness committees, fair use/equal time rules, blue ribbon panels of appeal and the other things like it. If government decides to impose "fairness" then what it will do (in the best case) is stifle online speech altogether or (more likely) enshrine these behaviors as legal and state-sanctioned SOP. I much prefer just breaking them up and removing executives as a part of the breakup.

Per Dr. Shiva's presentation, in order to do this they would need:
-- the original ballots scanned
-- the scanned ballots (which are the official ballots)
-- the logs that are supposed to be printed during scanning as an audit trail

What's been used to ID shenanigans already is the guy who downloaded and analyzed the numbers that NYT made available through election day, which he then broke out by state, with the counts of ballots that were either switched or dropped.

608 #284 the real problem with outfits like the NSA is they need an enemy or they're out of business.

If every nation was like Canada or Denmark to us they wouldnt have a reason to exist.

When the Wall fell they lost their way and instead of helping to mend fences with the former Soviets they helped sow discord there to create a modern Cold War ....reset indeed.

Chi nah is a different matter as is Islam.

I would if the same handful of posters don't shit up every thread with the same QAnon BS. Some acknowledgement from those folks that the watermarked ballots on the blockchain wasn't real, the US Army invading Germany to seize a secret CIA server that controlled vote counts wasn't real, that Trump misspelling a word in his tweet wasn't really secret code about hacked voting machines, etc. Those are the claims that I've been arguing against. 640 I looked at the Georgia complaint that was linked in the comments yesterday. Didn't see the word Dominion in it or any discussion of Dominion. Said so, and asked for anyone to show me the page number where I'd missed it. Crickets. Wood's complaint was about entirely different voting irregularities as near as I could tell. I'm happy to be proved wrong.
---------
Is Lin Wood even part of the officail trump team? His filing in GA is on his own behalf, as a Fulton Co voter, not on Trump's behalf.

That's where this came up yesterday morning/afternoon, in reference to Wood's GA complaint. Some rando (one of the multiple new nics obsessively posting about the election) posted a link to Wood' GA complaint and said it was all about Dominion. Brian, correctly as near as I can tell, noted that it had nothing to do with Dominion. Maybe some other complaint is about Dominion, but the GA one filed by Wood that was linked did not. The fact that you can point to some other complaint than the one Brian was addressing makes someone a liar. But not Brian.

I say we did that all this year and they've crossed the line so insanely that there's nothing whatsoever preventing taking immediate, strong action.

The president should immediately issue an executive order designating both Twitter and Facebook to start with as publishers, not content providers.

The first thing the DOJ should do is start up a civil rights abuse case against Twitter and Facebook and seize their files and servers. Indictments against every single one of their "fact checkers" and commissars, and put Zuck into prison for repeatedly lying under oath.

That's for starters.

and they've shown no evidence whatsoever of it happening in the
election.

I will carefully explain to you why the Maduro rig affidavit is material in Lin Wood's law suit. Dominion licensed the software which was used to rig the Chavez election. 684 LOL...the general public is NOT EVEN REMOTELY READY for the depth of the corruption being revealed.

It's going to be dispensed in easy, bite-sized chunks.

But it's still going to bend a lot of minds...remember how Neo reacted when he was shown the awful truth?

No repubs by name, but by party as in: there are lots of them profiting from this, too. Dems by name: Biden, for one. Rudy just went after the SOS of Michigan by name and party.

689 No, its not clear. Show me where the Smartmatic software used in
Venezuela was used in any US state for the 2020 election. That's the
first question a judge will ask, should be simple to answer.

You are being obtuse, the critical features of the Smartmatic software which allowed Chavez to steal his election is weighting of votes. That absolutely does exist in Dominion machines. Further the circumstantial, statistical evidence that the weighting feature was used to alter votes is irrefutable. See this page for a sample of that evidence.

Rarely over 30 miles, unless skip kicks in, which won't happen with a quiet Sun. But it could be useful for local meetups. And it's old tech, very cheap. And the FCC has about given up trying to control it, except maybe for cracking down on people running excessive power.

695 657 CB radio, too. People forget that it even exists, but truckers still use it. Still lots of chatter there.

Commercial fishermen use it in New England as the Coast Guard does not monitor it.
