The 6 year old asks, "You know what? I think it's about time we started learning to cuss". The 4 year old nods his head in approval.

As I was scrolling through the paperwork, I noticed something both hilarious and infuriating. Apparently, the renter eventually found the vehicle later on October 12th, and reported it to the police district. A conscientious moron police officer took the information and made an auto recovery report. Unfortunately for the WCSD officer and the renter, the jackass police officer never sent the report to NCIC, which means it was never taken out of stolen status. Meanwhile, the renter was stopped on the side of the highway, detained by police, for driving a vehicle which was no longer in stolen status. I explained the situation to the sheriff’s deputy, and after laughing at my department’s incompetence, assured me he would let the renter continue on his way.

Not surprising, though. The graboids were the biggest special effect. Pretty much everything else could be done on the cheap.
The sequels, with the exception of the first sequel, are good campy fun. None as good as the original, but still worth a watch.

A "park model" trailer is a mobile home meant to be set up in a mobile home park. Mostly single-wides, I think. They look superficially appealing, and are comfortable enough, but they depreciate like a car does, and some parks have restrictions on things like working on your own car, or gardening, parties, kids and so forth.

the Hell Saloon is a perfectly cromulent road-house "biker" bar; it's a popular ride over the river & through the woods so there's always several dozen bikes parked out front on the weekends

'Round here, a "Park Model" is a trailer, capable of being towed and thus, travel, but not suited to the classic RV lifestyle.
Lacking any kind of water tank, black or grey water tank, it's an absolute requirement that one find a site offering all of those connections as Available Infrastructure.
Further, they lack a generator, so being able to plug into 50 amp service is a must.
They are intended to be PARK-ed, long-ish term, in either actual Mobile Home Parks, or RV parks on a longer-term pad rental basis.
They're also fairly popular with rural land owners who are setting forth to site-build their new Estate Home. The Park Model is the temporary living quarters for +/- a year, while the McMansion is being constructed.

Not surprising, though. The graboids were the biggest special effect. Pretty much everything else could be done on the cheap.
The sequels, with the exception of the first sequel, are good campy fun. None as good as the original, but still worth a watch.

One of my older brothers tried a variation on that theme, I think. Kept breaking lawn mowers, at any rate. So dad got to talking with his buddies. He brings home this ancient, 1930s push reel mower. Parks it front and center in the garage. LOL!
Dad was like "Gasoline powered mowers are a lot easier to use, but these work fine. Don't let the grass get too long though..". I remember watching my brother cutting the grass with it. Thought he was gonna cry. LOL!! Lesson learned though, he didn't break any more mowers.

I've been really lucky.
None of the fine restaurants I like have been reduced to delivery-only for more than a month or so during COVID. I can't imagine buying some high-end dish and eating it tepid from a box.
But I don't really like too many spots in Denver proper (too hip/modern/lame for my tastes), mostare in Jeffco and Adams, so I haven't been totally screwed.

I was using a recent model, but it's kind of rickety. I found an old one at a yard sale recently, circa 1938 according to the bar that protects the blade. I sharpened it up and it works awesomely.

agreed on all points. That is a proper pour. Sure technically it is from skirt steak as the name implies, but we always did it with flank. I chase skirt sometimes as good ones are available these days. But back when I started making legit fajitas on the reg, we always used flank.
A very well made Margarita is one of life's great pleasures. Too bad most are sub par.

In my experience the best bet is to make friends with the local golf course greenskeeper. He'll have the tools and the know-how to keep a reel mower running properly. And yeah, a reel mower is a healthier cut for grass.

Aguardiente is generally cheap rum with anise in it to kill the taste.
In Colombia it used to be made from sugarcane bagasse, but they don't make it like that, at least commercially.
I love aguardiente. I admit it is like reminiscing about hot-dogs from the future.

Then again I sometimes call Peking Duck Chinese fajitas and Gryos Greek Fajitas so I don't really have a leg to stand on. But that is a food analogy, so it is different.
some bitch about "shrimp scampi" but that is being a bit pedantic since we don't get that crustacean in the US normally. The term "scampi" has evolved to mean the sauce and style and not the actual protein. Same with fajitas.

The only reel mower I currently own is a Clemson E16 Junior, possibly one of the finest push mowers ever made. It is both very light and very rigid. Rigid is important for a reel mower, because the clearance/contact between the reel and the bed knife must be set precisely, and then stay set. Machines with a flexible structure fail to do so.
My "lawn" at Stately Peon Manor is more of a lumpy pasture, and I use a rotary mower to keep it from growing too tall. Reel mowers are for fine lawns.

There is was, jamming the eff out a high volume to some Dire Straits, Brothers in Arms, when i felt a sharp pain on the back of my left bicep. Thought it was a spider, so i reached aroind and pinched a little insect body and continued about my business.
Then i felt several more 'sharp pains', and spotted the flying menance. Where the hell did the jornets come from?
Quickly dropped the leaf blower, squealed like a 7th grade girl and ran inside, trying to out run them. Hornets, remember?
No. Yellow Jackets. Georgia Tech Asshoe. Latched on with oth hands and wouldn't let go, as grandpop would say.
Running inside, i still though 'Hornet', and implored Smash to 'choot em!' She saw that thwy were latched onto my clothing and had me stop doing laps around the kitchen island and began pinching the off my clothes with a dish rag.
Oh noes. Now they want some of Smash too!
Junior-ette quickly saw the human eating insects for the deadly threat to teenage girls and snatched up Moron-cat and hid in her bedroom.
Smash eventually killed off 12 of the little yellow and black terrorists while getting stung four times herself. I got about 12-15 stings altogether on my back. Hurts. Burns. Itches, but don't touch it dumbass, that makes it burn more.
Big dose of antihitimines and anti-itch benadrill and i feel a little better.
Smash keeps giggling and imitating my middle school girls shriek while whining 'choot em!'.
The embarassment is worse than the stings. You lot may as well enjoy my pain and discomfort while mocking me too.
Planning to wage total warfare on them with gas poured down their peehole nest entry control bunker tomorrow. Probably fill the hole with expanding foam after i light that ass up.

Machine needed a new auger drive belt. No problemo! I have one, bought last Spring from the dealer. Install it, which was a chore, because you have to separate the auger assembly from the motor/drive assembly, and it takes 3 hands to get it all back together. Belt was real tight going in, too. But, hey! It's new.
Start it up. Auger starts turning without benefit of the clutch lever being depressed. On top of that, clouds of smoke issue from drive housing. Ooooh! But auger keeps turning, and smoke eventually dissipates.
I motor it down the ramp from the shop, and out into the snow. It's clearing snow OK. Can't shut the auger off, but that's not a deal-breaker. Get the driveway mostly cleared, and it runs out of gas.
Bought gas last night, so I fill it up from a can. Cannot start it with the recoil start, since the drag of the auger is slowing it down. Push it up to the shop, string out an extension cord, and use the 120 volt starter to fire it up again. Resume plowing, but something's not right. It's only throwing a piddly stream of snow. Walk around to the front. Only half the auger is turning, and the stopped half is plugged solid with snow.
Motor is up into the shop, make a U-turn so the Sun is shining on the auger area, and shut it down. Clean snow out of dead auger flights. Well! The 6 mm bolt that pins the auger to the shaft is missing. Either it rattled out, or got sheared off. They do act as shear pins, I think.
Find another 6 mm bolt, washers, and self-locking nut. Install same. By then, it was after 4, Sun getting low in the sky, and the basic plowing was done, and I was getting cold. Called it a day.
Monday, I will take the old auger belt to NAPA, and see if they can match it up. Pretty sure my new belt from the dealer, was a wrong one.

12 to 15 is a big hit, and it is uncomfortable, but it isn't the three hornets that flew up my pants leg whil riding the motorcycle that stung me on my testicular area before i could stop, and strip in the side of the road. Damned near kilt my young ass. Now i use small bungee cords around my ankles to keep that from ever happening again.

I've kept bees. I'm not good at it but I endeavor to persevere.
Anyway, cut down a bee tree, and took it to our wood yard. Was able to go back and capture most the hive bees. Set up a feeder station to try to keep this hive of honey bees alive. Apparently we have a hive of yellowjackets close by.
I'm feeding the assholes along with the reptiles I'm trying to save. Go figger.

I picked up an odd new piece of knowledge this year, kind of a wasp-rich one for me as I'd demolished an old house and exposed a lot of the blue and yellow clays we have in subsoil here that are attractive to several kinds of mud-daubers. Even with some mowing, excavating and grading, I'd been getting along with them all right. They were intent on their work, and not after me.
Then I brought in a crew to put a roof on the big building next door, and the materials came wrapped in a newish material. I'll bet you've seen it: a very thin porous plastic foam sheet, looks like fabric softener sheets. And for whatever reason, those foam sheets were crawling with aggressive hornets that were drawn to the smell (?) of the material, and were willing to fight for it.
I stayed lucky, but a nice kid on the crew got hit four times in rapid succession, then again on another day. About the time we started to discuss bringing in a pro, the damn bugs figured out where they would rather be, and scattered. The sheets came from about 50 miles away (if it had been China, I'd have been making some calls). If I were not more worried about elections and such, I'd muse that my county was being invaded by a new predator.

They did have to change their formula a few years back, something about the yellow dye they was a'using causing cancer if you eat 12 pounds of dye a day. Me making a batch every month or so (carbs dontcha know), it's real low on my fears list irregardless.
Anyhoo, I modify the crap out of it. Some sort of diced meat, cajun seasoning, pepper, extra grated cheese, and I undercook the macaroni a bit so it doesn't grow to the size of Dallas before serving.
I saw Swollen Macaroni open for Bruce Springsteen, in my nightmares.

I host a karaoke gig on the weekends, and some kids from our local liberal arts college have been making a regular stop at the bar on Saturday nights to sing, drink, and whatever. Tonight, we also had the entire women's softball team there. So, about 40 students in all.
At one point, a group of the college guys sang the song "Chicken Fried", by the Zac Brown Band...and at the end one guy yelled out "TRUMP TRAIN!" to cheers from the other students.
Then...the entire women's softball team (and nice looking young ladies they were) got up to sing "Courtesy Of The Red, White, And Blue" by Toby Keith, and they had the entire bar singing with them, and screaming "We'll put a boot in your ass" at the top of their lungs. Then, when the song ended, one of the students from Australia bellowed as loudly as he could, "I F*****G LOVE AMERICA!!!" as the other Aussies chanted "USA! USA!"
What's the point of this story? Not sure. It was just nice to see that not all college students are falling for the SJW bullcrap.

The mostly unreported story going on here is that with the mortality under better control, it's a small subset of symptoms that are the biggest problem for people trying to seriously address it (vs. those looking at it simply as a vehicle for political opportunity). If people really can get it multiple times, they're going to be rolling the dice on encephalitis each time.Mostly eliminating the serious side effects really would reduce it to just a flu status.

The day he won, I wore my hat to work, authentic, made in Cali, original Trump hat. I ordered one, and he sent two, of course. I worked at Campbells soup making soup, a hundred fiftey year old union shop. The hated my hat but had to look at it for a half hour because I did the shiftt start meetings. Number reading.

Thats cool. The car already gets almost 500 miles to a tank. It pulls around 36 mpg on a cruise. Its a manual 6 speed, so that probably helps. I'm curious how it will do with real gas. We were going to take my brother's car, but its a black 7 series BMW (don't be impressed, he got it dirt cheap), but he was thinking cruising through the southern states in a black 7 series with jersey plates probably isn't the smartest thing to do. The mazda will probably draw less attention. Although, the bmw would be waaaay more comfy on a cruise like that. His other concern is if that thing breaks down they're gonna ass fuck him with sand to get fixed out in bum fuck egypt. The mazda is still under warranty, has road side assistance, and only 38K on it, so it will be smooth sailing with that.

There are some ethanol-free stations around here, and when I drove a lot, the extra 50 cents or so a gallon was worth it.
After two tanks, it was like a tuneup. And the car ran noticeably smoother. More power, and better mileage.

To figure out if bias of omission is present, you have to be able to triangulate with at least two other news sources that you have found to be trustworthy over time.
Many don't have the time to seek out alternate sources, and that is why bias of omission works so well.
You can see it on Lefty news outlets, example Yahoo News. Most people only read the lead, not the entire article. Quite often, five or six paragraphs down, a statement printed makes the lead false. They do it all the time. One reason why reasonable people are so misinformed.

You think you are watching the news. But in fact, you are only seeing what they want you to see. Case in point -- The Hunter Biden emails.
Over two days, the MSM gave the emails a total of under 10 minutes of coverage, combined. The social media sites actually blocked the info. And still are.
So it's not really gaslighting (ignore what you are actually seeing and hearing), or whitewashing (It's Russian misinformation!), but actual censorship.

It's so easy to debunk the media lies of commission, like the first one right after Pres. Trump sat in the Oval Office. A report went out that he removed MLK's statue. But that was easily and quickly proven to be a lie.
But you hit right on my point: How do you prove a lie that was never aired/reported?
As for the censorship you claim they commit, gaslighting or censorship, it doesn't really matter what we call it. It's a lie of omission designed to make Trump supporters feel isolated and alone, to bring down any enthusiastic support for Trump.
TASS/Pravda straight up lied. But our media learned a lesson from them and just won't report such stories as they are 'local' (when it's very convenient for them to be so labeled).
The (anti-)social media censoring news is bad, but there is a remedy: Take away their Sec. 302 'we're just a platform' protection. Allow their asses to be sued into oblivion.
But the legacy media, and their highly incestuous personal relationships with Democrats of all levels, is the most detrimental and dangerous. I still can't fathom how George Snuffleupagus has a news show and can even be considered anything other than a political hack. I'm at the point where I want the media monopolies to be busted, broken up into tiny little Ma Medias. If they go broke, so be it. If the likes of Rachel Maddow or Chris Hayes have to bus tables to make ends meet, so much the better. Watching Little Bryan Stelter bus tables would allow me a hearty, evil laugh.

After watching Bannon's show for a few weeks, it is totally understandable why Trump fired him. He is really smart, but a loose cannon. More of a street guy instead of a boardroom guy. It was only a matter of time.

I also tend to think the media pushing polls showing Joey Bidet up by a gazillion points is designed to set the table for a violent response to Trump winning. How could Trump win if Sundowner Joe was so far ahead in the polls? Must be vote fraud! (As I've said before, the Dems have more projection than multi-plex theaters.)

Only been to Door County twice. 1st was 23 years ago for my brother's wedding, s-i-l from Egg Harbor. 2nd was this summer - a one day trip up to pick something up from her mom on our way up to the U.P.
Took an extra 3 hours to Egg Harbor then back down around Green Bay to head north again.

The asked, and the answered. I completely agree. The Trump support is off the charts, I've never seen anything like it before. But the corruption, financed obviously by Soros, Inc. , with help from Elite America, Bezos, Oprah, Babs, John Legend and his ilk, is a wildcard that our country has never faced before. There are many people who have no problem breaking the law, because, Trump.
BLM is working hard right now to muck up the voting, they have plenty of money, and are by their own admission, trained and celebrate Marxist beliefs.
Progda will help confuse anything, short of a Trump landslide. In a normal world, those massive Trump boat parades and car parades, combined with Biden turnouts of a few dozen, signify a landslide for sure.

I've got a cat on the porch who has adopted us here at Casa New
Dawn, and I'll be getting pics and a story 'bout him to OM in the next
few weeks.
He's a nearly all-black shorthair, neutered. He needs a permanent
home, as we can't bring him in to mingle with the indoor cats.
He's got that Feline Lukemia thing, which means anytime we pet him or bring in his food bowl, it's major handwashing time.
But. And this is important. He's a cat that was BORN to snuggle on
your lap and up against your chest. It. Is. His. Drug. Of. Choice.
He's about two years old. Given the disease, he's got may two to four years life expectancy.
And I'd really like to find him a home, before winter.

Ha. She tries to be so quiet, but the antique dresser has creaky drawers, and the floor boards in her room have a few spots that creak when you walk over them. She usually just rearranges clothes... unless she decides to get dressed and start the day.
Thankfully this morning after about 30 min of activity, she used the bathroom and went back into her room without comment. The bedside lamp just now went 'click'

We went out to our favorite cafe/coffee shop last night. I was dreading a battle over the masks, but they were really cool about it. We were thinking about sitting out on the covered patio in front, the waitress -- her mask pulled down below her chin -- smiled and said, "You don't have to wear those things to come in."
So we did, and chatted with her as she took our order. She sounds like a Moron in training: She told us how she faced down an Walmart employee over the issue. I really should grab up some of my business cards and write the "ace.mu.nu" address and "Ace of Spades" on the back, and hand them out to sensible people.
A lot of the patrons, some of them in the "at-risk" age category, were maskless too. We enjoyed talking with a couple of them, just to see smiles and complete faces.
So a good evening. I anticipate I'll be okay at the grocery this a.m., and if I go back to the cafe for breakfast.

I'm alone behind a counter, we have screens up, albeit very temporary. No one is in that store more than 15 minutes. We clean contact surfaces, including on the gas pumps regularly. We have hand sanitizer at both registers, and a station by barhrooms and the doors. For Goodness sake, I'm working with the great unwashed public and handling money! First rule of that has always been: wash your hands before you touch your face or eat, and cover your cough!
