Is Biden Really Ahead at All?

A couple of days ago, the New York Times ran an opinion/analysis piece noting the five danger signs for Biden.

Here is what Democrat strategists are warning him about:

A Democratic strategist -- who requested anonymity because his employer does not want him publicly identified talking about the election -- analyzed the implications of the most recent voter registration trends for me.

In Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, he said, overall registration is up by 6 points through August compared to the 2016 cycle, but net Democratic registrations are down by 38 percent. That's about 150,000 fewer additional Democrats than were added in 2016.

In addition, he continued, registration among whites without college degrees
is up by 46 percent while registration by people of color is up by only 4 percent.

...

The pattern was more pronounced in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin than it was in Michigan.

On its own, increased registration among non-college whites would have only a negligible effect on total state voting, my source pointed out, but it becomes troubling if it reflects greater interest more generally for these voters in those states. And there are good reasons to believe that if that is the case, those additionally energized voters are very underrepresented in surveys now.

I enjoy this finding greatly:

Trump says things which are true and which need public/governmental attention. Things like: "We need to capture and deport illegal alien criminals, especially gang members, so they can't harm actual Americans."

Because this is so obviously true and so motivating a point, the Democrats and the media try to discredit it by labeling it a "racial dog whistle."

How is that strategy of labeling true and important policy goals "racial dog whistles?"

Let's check the tape:

Another data point they found "even more sobering": Llpez and Gavito asked
eligible voters how "convincing" they found a dog-whistle message lifted from Republican talking points. Among other elements, the message condemned "illegal immigration from places overrun with drugs and criminal gangs" and called for "fully funding the police, so our communities are not threatened by people who refuse to follow our laws."

As they expected, "almost three out of five white respondents judged that message convincing."

More disconcerting to Lopez and Gavito, both liberals, was that "exactly the same percentage of African-Americans agreed, as did an even higher percentage of Latinos.

!!!!

Wow, it's a "racial dog whistle" that appeals to literally all races.

Is that what "racial dog whistle" means? A whistle that unites all races behind a single unassailable point?

Let's look at some data points that support the suggestion that Biden is in a much weaker position than is being claimed:

Republicans have shrank the Democrats' longstanding voter registration edge in Florida to the smallest ever -- and they're still registering people, of course:

floridaregistration

The article notes that the pace of GOP registrations is quickening:

"FL GOP had a record August, registering c 58k new voters -- 91% more than in August 2016. The # of new Rs added in Aug. is 41% more than new Ds, whose totals were 6% lower than voters they registered in Aug. 2016"

Trump is supposedly five points behind in Virginia -- which is a smaller margin than Hillary won by in actual votes in 2016.

trumpvirginia

Look at the arrows, which indicate whether Biden's gaining or losing support.

All down blue arrows.

downarrowsforbiden

Via "Ha," the highly accurate Trafalgar Group puts Trump ahead in Michigan, albeit not even by a full point and obviously well inside the margin of error:

MI poll

Trump 46.7

Biden 46

Trafalgar Group

Yahoo ran a national poll and finds Biden up by 5-- which is basically in-line with how other pollsters claim the race now stands. (The days of 13 and 10 point national leads are well and gone, aren't they?)

But here's something interesting -- to get Biden to a 5 point lead, they had to give Democrats a 12.5 point edge in the sample. The sample was 42% Democrats, 29.5% Republicans. Not even 30%!

In 2012, Democrats had an edge of merely +6 in actual voters who went to the polls.

In 2016, Democrats had a mere +4 edge -- in a year when Trump, supposedly a racist xenophobic homophobic p#ssy-grabber had only a 1.4% chance of winning -- and of course Trump won that year.

In 2008, a Democrat wave year in which Democrats won the presidency, the House, and the Senate, the Democrat edge was... seven points. D+7.

But now it's grown to a 12.5% edge?

I don't think so.

And did I mention that that's a poll of... registered voters?

In a poll of likely voters, Trump would probably be ahead, even with the ridiculous sample of 42% Democrat 29.5% Republican 28% Independent.

A friend (who is pretty much writing this post, I don't know why he doesn't just come aboard as a coblogger) points out that for all the talk about NeverTrump, there were actually more Democrat-to-Republican defectors in 2016 than Republican-to-Democrat.

Yet not a single Democrat Trump Voter has been given a cushy writing assignment anywhere.

27 There's another factor that also makes Trump attractive to Hispanic voters; take Hispanic voters in Florida, for example. They are FAR more likely to be very aware of conditions inside Venezuela and Cuba than the average white LIV elsewhere is. And they also know quite well how a relaxed and prosperous country (Venezuela) can be turned into a stinking hellhole in just a few short years through socialism.

51 Biden's polling lead is the only thing keeping him alive ... literally. The moment he falls behind or even with Trump in national polls is the moment he has to start actually campaigning full time. A full-time Biden campaign maybe lasts 10 days before he dies or goes to the hospital. But from Dem strategy point-of-view a dead/dying Biden with a few weeks to go to the election is probably better than an alive Biden trailing in the polls with a few weeks to go.

53 Thanks for adding all the pictures, it helps break up all the wordy words. I imagine Biden would like it to. "Oh, it's like a pop up book! COLORS!"

If they can't even fake a poll to show Trump over 5% in places like NC, then he takes the state and it's not even debatable. Ari Fleisher (sp?) schooled the NY Times poll that came out showing how they sat on the scale weighing it down in favor of Dems. No poll should be listened to, at all really, but certainly not before mid October.

I say Trump takes Penn, MI, and maaaaaaybe WI though that one is up for grabs. At least he's visited it, which is more than Her Thighness did. Hell, he's spending money on ads on the west coast so he knows more than we do. But no one, NO ONE, wants to see their neighborhoods burned to the ground and some of the deep blue Dems will sit on their hands and not vote, because then they can say they never voted for Trump but accept that he'll shut this shit down.

I am eternally grateful to Trump for many reasons, but chief among them is ripping off the masks of the DC/NY elites so that EVERYONE can see them for who they really are. The reckoning is coming.

57 It seems to me that one would need to know what the current registration rate is for any given demographic to know whether these figures are significant.

For example, if 80% of blacks were already registered, you would not see much of an increase in registration due to the upcoming elections.

As opposed to perhaps non-college educated whites being only 60% registered... or less. Higher registrations would indicate a possible energizing of that demo.

And this is what we can see with our own lying eyes, where Trump is packing them in at rallies and even along the roadways when he motors into a city.

Hiding Biden is getting golf cart parades of 5-6.

60 The real question is of those registered as Dems, how many will vote for Trump? No one who is registering R is going to vote for Biden. Registering as a Republican carries a real potential cost these days. Should it become known how you registered, you could find yourself on the receiving end of a nasty visit from leftist thugs. If you don;t plan to vote Trump, you will just register as a Dem and save yourself the potential hassle. But just because you register Dem doesn't mean you have to vote that way. So how many of these registered Dems are going to pull the lever for Trump? I find it hard to believe that city dwellers who have been watching their neighborhoods burn at the hands of leftists for almost five months are just going to reflexively pull the level for Biden. Some will, sure, but a lot will defect.

104 43 32 I will keep saying it. The reason the media and polling organizations are reporting Biden with massive leads is so that when Trump wins in a landslide, it will validate their accusations of cheating."

we talk about the reasons for this, and the reasons for that - but I think we've all seen, with dysfunctional peoples and dysfunctional movements, that a time comes that they've gone so far down a bad path that they don't have the ability to even choose their own actions anymore. *Especially* if they've lost their grip on reality.

In this case, I suspect it could be that they are reporting huge leads for Biden is that it's too unbearably awful for them to contemplate not posting big leads for Biden. They're burning down all the credibility they have left in one last desperate attempt to try and make their Wishes come true.

it won't work. It never does.

107 A comment about those ballots found in PA. Report is that it is 9 ballots so far.

I posted my opinion about fraud a few weeks back. That even with all the gears turning for them, that in PA the best the Dems will be able to cheat is about a 10K vote differential.

9 ballots tends to confirm that. Vote fraud is hard, especially with absentee ballots. One of the techniques is to throw away Republican ballots by postal workers. But it is difficult to do more than a handful of ballots that way without being caught.

If we have the Trump turnout on election day that the current on the ground enthusiasm indicates, then Trump GOTV will greatly overwhelm the fraud.

This is why Joe Biden was selected in order to keep Bernie and his leftists from capturing the party machinery. 2022 is a Census rejiggering year for election districts and 2024, is an open seat presidential election.

So, allowing Orangeman bad to win in 2020 and relying on the deep state and uniparty to keep him from reforming the system might be the best of a bad hand.

Just looked up a story, seems clear: NC Elections Board recently gave "Unanimous Approval" to a consent decree regarding mail in ballots, today both Republican Members said that the State AG lied to them about what was in the agreement, and they both resigned to demonstrate that this consent agreement, as written, did NOT have their approval.

The three Democrats on the board were not going to allow any further consideration of the matter, so resignation was their only way to make a public statement on the matter. I think it was a very bold move.

The three Democrats on the board were not going to allow any further consideration of the matter, so resignation was their only way to make a public statement on the matter. I think it was a very bold move.

Eons ago, when I was more indestructible, I went to a game at Comiskey Park, by myself. I parked my car a few blocks from the stadium, there was ample room to do so.

As I was walking away from my car, a young man approached and said "you know, it's not always safe parking in this area. For a nominal fee ($10) I'll make sure nothing happens to it."

I gladly paid. And when I came out hours later, there was my car, fully intact. As promised.

My assumption is that if I had told him to F off, the chances my car would be missing all four wheels, possibly burned out and/or broken and bruised, was damn close to 100%.

Still, I admired his entrepreneurial spirit. It gave me some small comfort, knowing the world has clear rules, and those who follow them will profit from them.

One idea I heard a few weeks ago on radio that, the more I think on it, it sounds like a PITA for the voting public, but I think would help things:

Dump the voter rolls entirely after two years.

Here in TX, voter registration cards are pumped out to registered voters after January 1 of even numbered years like clockwork. They last until December 31 of the next, odd numbered year. So, instead of doing that, just dump the voter rolls on 1 January of the even numbered year, and call for everyone to register again.

Sounds like a PITA, and I get it, BUT the advantage is that the dead will not be reregistering to vote, and nor will people who have moved away or have decided not to register to vote again. So you start anew every two years.

(YMMV, especially in other states.)

9/28 Project Veritas drops their voter fraud video. I'm sure James and company have been working on this since 2016. I just hope that there's at least one big name and one big state that gets dragged into this.

I won't hold my breath though. The left always writes off PV with the same tired accusations that were disproved, but since it was all reporting by retraction (or winning a law suit) nobody knows.

How can those of us who don't buy into the fear-mongering take advantage of this situation? Well, for starters, we're not terrified to see other people in person. It's no wonder that our in-person GOTV efforts are under way, while the left's GOTV efforts appear focused on twitter, Zoom, and burning down their cities.

Trump, as sitting POTUS running virtually unopposed, set records garnering the most primary votes of any sitting POTUS, including Reagan in 1984.

Biden, even after everyone dropped out and Bernie "suspended" his campaign, was lucky to get 60-70% of the vote.

Trump got people to come out at record numbers even though he was guaranteed the nom. Biden, otoh, had people coming out to vote AGAINST him, even though he was guaranteed the nom.

Azar said that Obamacare offered coverage for pre-existing conditions but the premiums were so high people were often priced out of coverage — notes that one EO tackles “surprise medical bills.” If Congress doesn’t pass a bill by Jan 1, Azar will pursue additional exec action

CMS admin. Seema Verna says Trump’s plan will put dollars back in people’s pockets, especially America’s seniors

But this time when Biden wins (comfortably), instead of realizing that your unskewing was just plain wrong, you'll scream that it was all voter fraud (based on assumption, not actual evidence). Ultimately, the "right-leaning" pollsters were right about 2016 and the MSM pollsters were way, way off on 2016. At this same point, they were talking about a Reagan type landslide for Hilary. Any particularly histrionic Dem cheating efforts this time that are exposed should be used as the starting point to return the country to its moderate level of election integrity, the highest level it has ever had (nationally - it varies greatly from place to place).

341 One idea I heard a few weeks ago on radio that, the more I think on it, it sounds like a PITA for the voting public, but I think would help things:

Dump the voter rolls entirely after two years.

Here in TX, voter registration cards are pumped out to registered voters after January 1 of even numbered years like clockwork. They last until December 31 of the next, odd numbered year. So, instead of doing that, just dump the voter rolls on 1 January of the even numbered year, and call for everyone to register again.

Sounds like a PITA, and I get it, BUT the advantage is that the dead will not be reregistering to vote, and nor will people who have moved away or have decided not to register to vote again. So you start anew every two years.

(YMMV, especially in other states.)

In 1980, days before the election, polls showed Peanut Jimmuh with a 6% lead. How did that election turn out?

The history of polling (that you don't bother with; Leftist sophisticates like yourself are above that, I suppose) entirely contradicts you. There IS a reason why, much to your chagrin, the election will NOT be canceled on the basis of the polls you adore and why the election will be held anyway. Well, we HAVE to hold the election, just because, and also as a double-checking mechanism to see if the polls were wrong as they were in 1980 and 2016.

That way, if things are sporty around the polling station, I've still got my vote in. Also, at least in my state, one cannot be armed at a polling station, including CCW permit holders. 376 Nationwide, there are about 3.5 million more registered voters than actual adults eligible to vote in the US.

(Judicial Watch, via RedState) :

https://tinyurl.com/y5ckkl8z

*this article covers 378 counties where the total registered voters exceed the census number of adults counted*

I bring this up because a poll of registered voters would be also skewed by the inaccurate voter rolls.

Even snopes admits that there is some truth to the 3.5 million extra registrations.

378 So, total surrender on "health care", then. Not really news. Applying actual common sense and intelligence to health care financing would be 10 times the boost to the US economy of all Don's trade initiatives put together. It's by far the biggest anchor around the country's neck.

Oligopolies, captured/mis-regulation. On the insurance (and provider) side.

But actual "insurance" is being formally and finally destroyed as a concept in health care ("pre-existing conditions"). One of the most powerful tools in modern economic history - actual insurance - formally abandoned in of the areas where it is most applicable and most valuable.

Losing, bigly.

If u break the 2016 pollsters into three groups; 1) way wrong; 2) wrong but not outrageously wrong; & 3) right on the money (the smallest of the three groups), the handful that were right on the money in 2016 (Trafalgar; Rasmussen, etc.) are also the pollsters which show Trump performing the best in 2020.

The converse is also true. The 2016 pollsters who showed HRC with ginormous leads late in 2016 (PPP; Quinnipiac, etc) show Biden killing it in 2020.

SOME of the most widely reported polls (YouGov; Change Research) use "samples" which consist entirely of people who've VOLUNTEERED to be polled. These aren't even polls, since they're not randomly selected. They are more like focus groups.

446 I've been road tripping quite a bit this year, personal reasons (not for work or business) and I've had to criss cross the beautiful Commonwealth of Pennsylvania several times.

The number of Trump! signs, flags, posters, bumper stickers, etc etc., has been quite impressive.

Now back home in my blue blue blue state and it's depressing. If I were to place anything remotely Trump on my property, either my home or my car, or maybe both, would be torched.

Meanwhile every week more of the "Marxist-trained" organization's signs continue to sprout up.

This guy (Hunter Biden) can't function. I don't think he ever showed

Joe's influence. He was the most influential man in Ukraine. He was
put there by Obama. He was giving out all the money. Kolomoisky needed
him in order to save his company and then Biden went ahead and did it
and he bribed Poroshenko.
It's on tape. There are five witnesses and there are four recordings
of conversations just at the time the firing took place that have not
been released. Four recordings that amount to about two and a half
hours of conversations between Biden and Poroshenko. They are all in
February of 2016. Those should be released by President Trump..President Trump should declassify them and put them out.

468 378 So, total surrender on "health care", then.

Posted by: rhomboid at September 24, 2020 03:32 PM (OTzUX)

I'll solve medical care in a few minutes:

Treat medical insurance as you do your car insurance. (Quick! Who uses car insurance to pay for oil changes?)

Use medical insurance sparingly and for instances you can pay in cash, pay in cash. You will be stunned at the discounts you get for paying up front, because the clinic/hospital is saved the trouble of screwing around with an insurer. They'd rather just take the money.

For instance you need to use insurance, use insurance.

Finally, I don't go through an employer to get car insurance. The car insurer doesn't care who I work for so long as I pay the bill. (Unless it's USAA, but that's a different issue, you see the point.) Why should I have to go through an employer for medical insurance? Why can't I buy it on my own? And why can't the period to sign up for medical insurance extend from, say, January 1 to December 31?

It's technically useless for Trump to answer 99 percent of the questions reporters ask him. For example -

Let's say Trump had answered yesterday's 'guarantee a peaceful transition' question with "Yes, I solemnly pledge to not use the military or street riots in an attempt to remain in office if I lose the election."

Then Biden and the Dem-Media squad would say, "We don't believe him. He lies about everything. Be prepared for Trump-instigated violence after the election."

That's what I've been saying.

I mean the "draw" thing is beyond stupid. A vast majority of the time the winner of the EC wins by so many electoral votes, they could still lose a non-CA, non-NY state and win.

And then if the EC draws (because that's what we're talking about here.) It goes to the House, where all the reps from each state decide where the ONE VOTE for their state goes. (Although I fear that Nancy Pelosi is going to pull a "Nobody tells me how the House votes!" act, and her ignoramuses will lap it up)

But let's say Election Night the EC votes are tied. YOU MEAN TRUMP'S NOT GOING TO LEAVE THE WHITE HOUSE IMMEDIATELY??!!

No, idiot, it's going to the EC, and then the House.

Win, is stupid outright, which only leaves lose as the condition of transfer, which means it's STUPID to frame it as "win lose or draw". Because 66% of those conditions aren't the event of transfer of power!

496 OK. Here is the skinny on Francis. When Benedict resigned, he resigned as Bishop of Rome. But he retained the title "Vicar of Christ." Francis was elected Bishop of Rome by the College of Cardinals. Therefore, Benedict is still the Pope and Francis is just the guy they brought in to do the paperwork. Francis does NOT use the title "Vicar of Christ." There will be no Ex Cathedra statements from Francis.

And the list of questions was so long that most people would hang up prior to the poll being finished. Poll caller only would get paid for completed polls, so guess what happened? Yep, they finished the poll themselves and turned it in.

Said polls are mostly a farce.

If these polls showed lopsided support for conservatives/Republicans, you wouldn't see our elected Republicans scared all the time and actually be bold.

It also hurts fundraising, I've seen so many races where the pollsters have made the case "it's over" and the result was a tight, winnable race but the donor class thought it was a lost cause.

The CIA and Deep State have a tactic called a Color Revolution. In a country that you want to overthrow, you have a Contested election (manufactured), and then forment riots.

It worked in Poland, Egypt, and the Ukraine. Failed in Iran.

So, Dems create chaos through Riots, while keeping the election tied up in Court long enough, that the HOUSE gets to decide the election, with each State getting 1 vote.

But if the House has not declared a President by Jan 20, they get to choose the President by Statute (one which has never been passed).

Dems would rather create a MAJOR Constitutional Crises, than see Trump re-elected. (Exhibit 1? The impeachment debacle last year).

I think that's been the consensus here since Friday's announcement. And why it's important to get that seat filled. TBH, it's just as likely with only 8 sitting in SCOTUS. RBG was just a shoo-in. Roberts could still have been a wild card.

But, that's still a long way off. First, the voting needs to be tight enough that the mail-in states actually put things in play. Prayers up we can just laugh at their "But wait! There's more!" shenanigans.

554 Feds: 9 military ballots for Trump discarded in Luzerne County

https://tinyurl.com/y3m9gtaf

A federal investigation into irregularities with mail-in ballots at the Luzerne County Bureau of Elections has turned up nine discarded ballots that were cast for President Donald Trump, U.S. Attorney David J. Freed said Thursday.

In a prepared statement issued by his office, Freed said FBI agents and Pennsylvania State Police who began investigating "potential issues" with a small number of ballots earlier this week determined a small number of military ballots had been discarded.

"Investigators have recovered nine ballots at this time," Freed said. "Some of those ballots can be attributed to specific voters and some cannot. All nine ballots were cast for presidential candidate Donald Trump."

The statement said the investigation is ongoing and that the Luzerne County Bureau of Elections has been cooperative.

It's unclear through what method the ballots were received. The election bureau plans to start sending out mail-in ballots for the November election the first week of October, depending on further state or court actions that might impact the ballot. However, military and overseas voters can request ballots through the Federal Post Card Application, which ensures states send the ballot at least 45 days before the election.

Freed said he expects to share up-to-date findings later Thursday with officials in Luzerne County.

"It is the vital duty of government to ensure that every properly cast vote is counted," Freed said.

Luzerne County District Attorney Stefanie Salavantis' office began investigating potential issues with some mail-in ballots that were received last week prior to consulting with the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Federal authorities took the lead in the case at the request of Salavantis on Monday, although county detectives were continuing to assist.

Salavantis, a Republican, previously said she believed the issue would be resolved "so it will not have an impact on the integrity of the election process."

556 I've said this before but here's a good way to get around Obamacare-like policies:
Sign up with Liberty or Christian Healthcare Ministries. (It's too long to explain here, but it's essentially a co-op for health care) They qualify as an "Obamacare provider" so you're safe. This will cover catastrophic stuff. I pay $45/month for my plan.

Open a HSA for year-to year ordinary costs. When you go to a health provider, ask for the "cash" price. (You will be amazed--it's usually at least 50% off) Pay it with your HSA debit card. HSA spending avoids federal tax.
So, figure out how much you save in not having a ridiculous monthly premium (and a high deductible), the cash price discount, and the tax discount. You will be amazed again--its a huge savings.

570 OK. Here is the skinny on Francis. When Benedict resigned, he resigned
as Bishop of Rome. But he retained the title "Vicar of Christ." Francis
was elected Bishop of Rome by the College of Cardinals. Therefore,
Benedict is still the Pope and Francis is just the guy they brought in
to do the paperwork. Francis does NOT use the title "Vicar of Christ."
There will be no Ex Cathedra statements from Francis.

Posted by: JAS at September 24, 2020 03:40 PM

I'm not sure about this(2BZBZ)

If you research it, Francis has stopped using the Vicar of Christ title as of April of this year. I don't know if Benedict is still using it but Francis is NOT. It's all over the internet.

That all being said, I'd rather have Benedict back. As a Catholic, Francis is an embarassment at best.

Posted by: josephistan at September 24, 2020 03:57 PM (Izzlo)

583 I'll solve medical care in a few minutes:

Posted by: Catch Thirty-Thr33 at September 24, 2020 03:42 PM (4JLkY)

You all are giving intelligent solutions to a problem that responsible people would like solved for themselves.

The problem is the 50 Million or so people who don't want to pay for health insurance. Or the 100 Million ( I actually don't know the real numbers, just roll with me here) seniors who have a fit over paying for medicare coverage, which is not nearly as expensive as it would be if they were paying on par with working people and their employers. Let's not forget the millions in nursing homes whose care if paid 95% by Medicaid because they are "indigent".
These people all vote. And they are NOT going to vote to have anything cut or to accept responsibility on themselves for coverage above what they pay now.

I remember my mother in law adamantly insisting that once you reach age 65 and eligible for medicare, it was free. My own mother kept trying to tell her that was not true, that if you are eligible for SS it was automatically taken out of it, and if not, you had to directly pay premiums. Couldn't convince her until she went to a retirement planner and was outraged that medicare wasn't free to seniors.

585 352 Vote in person as soon as the polls open to do so. I am willing to bet some cash, the Maoists will have "armed enforcers" stationed at the polling stations on the Election Day.
Obama's enforcers on 2008 and 2012 were a beta test.
Posted by: Ben Shapiro's Tackle Box at September 24, 2020 03:23 PM

I'm voting absentee. Then voting in person. My state permits that, and will (in theory) toss out the absentee once they note that I voted in person on election day.

That way, if things are sporty around the polling station, I've still got my vote in. Also, at least in my state, one cannot be armed at a polling station, including CCW permit holders. Yeah, I know, that means all the law-abiding will be disarmed: yet another reason I'm casting the absentee vote as a safeguard.
Posted by: Mostly Peaceful Grognard at September 24, 2020 03:28 PM (b3x5S)

That could actually turn out to be a pretty good idea.

See what your state's voting laws are about absentee/mail in ballots, If permitted and you won't get in trouble for it, vote absentee, and then show up to vote in person on Election Day. You don't want anyone taking your voting "spot."

Some other things:

Check your voter status in your county by the registration deadline. I had voted in 2016 & 2018, but was listed an an "inactive voter." Perhaps because we had moved, albeit within the county? Even though we live in a solid Republican county. Mistakes can be made and you don't want to have to cast a provisional ballot or have to go through any other kind of BS on election day.

Make sure your deceased relatives are purged off the voter rolls. Did this with my dad after he died. A phone call, mailed death certificate, and follow-up were all that were needed.

The father of one of our friends died in 2018; In April of this year, she called to have him taken off the rolls, sent his death certificate, and called a few weeks ago to find out he was still on the rolls. She recently sent another death certificate, this time by registered mail so she has proof they had it, and followed up with a call. He has now been taken off.

If you know anyone who has moved out of their county since the last Pres election, ask them to ensure they are no longer registered in that county.

Another friend who moved in 2016 forgot to let his former county of residence know he had moved. Even though he hadn't voted there in 2016 and 2018, he was still listed as an active voter."

Don't let anyone or any circumstance steal your vote.

plan. Dems have been springing 4 years of Brilliant Plans on this
country, and every one of them has turned into a Wile E. Coyote catapult
that slams them face first into the ground. Just basing my
expectations on past performance, I think this plan is likely to turn
out the same way.

Have they, though? I don't think they really expected any individual part--the impeachment, or Russia, or Ukraine, or the fabricated dossier, or this-gate or that-gate, or any of the other bullshit they've been flinging around nonstop for the last several years--of this "resistance" to work. But collectively it all serves as a gigantic gaslighting/psychological torture operation aimed at what quaintly used to be called "the American People."

When you're exposed to this kind of psychopathic mental assault--to the point that the media will go on TV and simply tell you that what you're seeing with your own eyes isn't real; when you're exposed to nonstop propaganda at work and in school, in every TV show, every commercial, every movie, every sporting event--it gradually corrodes people's resolve and perception of reality. It also creates the impression of relentless, overwhelming power arrayed against them, an impression that spineless Republicans have utterly failed to counter, and most people are herd animals who ultimately will follow the side looks the most powerful, if for no other reason than to make the torture stop for a little while.

This election won't be quite the margin of a 96 or 08, but Trump is going to expand his electoral votes. The 250 lb Goth Chick Rebellion is going to cause the Democrats to lose Minnesota and possibly places like NH and Nevada. The upper threshold for Trump is all of his 2016 states along with MN, NH, NV, VA, Maine and possibly Colorado -- in that order.

The Democrats can't run a guy who clearly has dementia along with a hateful authoritarian woman who slept her way to the top and hope to win when lefty assholes are rioting over absolutely nothing. The electorate isn't what it was in 72, but the Dems are much wackier than they were at that point.

Yes, the pollsters actually try to be accurate in the final days before the election, because that's how they are remembered. However, up until that point most polls are truly 'push polls' pushing a narrative ... and the consensus polling showed Trump 6-8 points behind a week before the election.

616 That's why Trump has a winning message. "I want to deport gang members and criminals" helps with the white vote for sure, it helps a lot more with the Hispanic vote, who are often the victims of these criminals. Same with "fund the police" as those in minority communities know that the police cuts will happen in their neighborhoods and they'll be Rhett victims.

Look at these rallies and riots for BLM, it's all the young and idealistic idiots who think they know better. You don't see many middle age or older African Americans, because they know that despite problems things are 1,000x better than they were and they know the implications of letting criminals run wild.

617 Amen. But that ship sailed long ago. People now expect health insurance to pay for flu shots for fucks sake.

That can, and should, be retaught. Just because a ship has sailed doesn't mean it can't come back to port and be re-moored.

618 556 I've said this before but here's a good way to get around Obamacare-like policies:

Two things:

1) "Provider" of what (I hate that word more every time I see it used)?

2) The problem with things like this is that you can only use this IF YOU ARE HEALTHY.

YOU.

MUST.

BE.

HEALTHY.

619 "In Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, he said, overall registration is up by 6 points through August compared to the 2016 cycle, but net Democratic registrations are down by 38 percent. That's about 150,000 fewer additional Democrats than were added in 2016."

That's encouraging news, but neither MI nor WI register by party (they have open primaries), so I don't know how they know how many are R and how many are D. PA registers by party, so a breakout there would be useful.
