According to Defense News, the Air Force developed the new fighter in about a year - a staggeringly short amount of time by modern standards. With regards to the 6th gen fighter, the article says it's been designed with both manned and unmanned versions, but my guess is that the one they built is the latter. That would greatly simplify the process and requirements. It's coming, they just don't want to say so yet.

According to Defense News, the Air Force developed the new fighter in about a year - a staggeringly short amount of time by modern standards. The Air Force first developed a virtual version of the jet, and then proceeded to build and fly a full-sized prototype, complete with mission systems. This is in stark contrast to the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.
Huh. I wonder what in the world could be different? Posted by: blaster I saw that this morning. Is it real? Is is propaganda? Is is vapor ware? Reading history, the Have Blue project was flying prototypes of what became the F-117 years before the actual plane went into limited production by Lockheed. The biggest problem with modern fighters is that they are inherently unstable to give them a high angle of attack, and they all have to be "fly by wire", ie, fly with a computer interface. And writing that software takes a lot of time and work. If the Air Force already has built a flying prototype, it must also have the software written. The reason the Senate Subpoena story just pisses me off is that these assholes could have done that three years go, or two years ago, or even a year ago, when all of the rank and file was begging them to do it. They did nothing.
Now they all *know* they are going to recess for the rest of the year in three weeks (ok there will be a useless lame-duck session where nothing ever happens) and they know very well that there is not enough time left on their calendar for any of the subpoena's to be acted on. So this is a very deliberate and calculating way for the useless GOP Senate leadership to make us grassroots supporters *think* that they are doing something we want them to do, even while by it's very timing is it guaranteed to accomplish nothing at all. Howard Stern is an asshole, but years ago he got in hot water for saying Latin music is "garbage"--and he was right.
Latin music is so corny, and when it's not, it's obnoxious like that "merangue' or whatever it's called. Posted by: JoeF. at September 16, 2020 12:27 PM (HrMC1) Rick Beato did a review of the current top 10 hits today, and surprisingly to me at least, he found reasons to praise about half the songs. Production values, the melody, their use of ACTUAL instruments, etc. I'm still not going to listen, but at least he found some value. What was funny to me though, is he was sitting there with his guitar, and he'd hear a few bars, and before the song even went there, he was already predicting where it would go, and started playing along. There were a few songs with which he was already familiar, but some were new to him, and he found the notes and direction the song was going right away. And yeah, the Latin stuff is hot garbage. Not as bad as Cardi B "singing" about her snatch, but bad enough. Posted by: BurtTC at September 16, 2020 12:43 PM (hku12) 325

* IIRC he stayed on the campaign trail when his wife murder suicided herself and his daughter, and was likely banging Jill (also married) to console himself during his tragic loss.
His first wife got drunk and crashed her car into that truck with the kids while pregnant because she found out abut Joe's second affair (this time with Jill, who she considered a friend). When I knew them the boys were basically spoiled but ignored. Jill's daughter was doted on. Beau dealt with stuff better and Hunter was kind of a dark guy, very quiet. For him to use Beau's death makes me sick. if Beau was alive none of this would be happening. he wouldn't stand for this. Hunter is not a strong personality and probably not many brain cells left by now. For him to use his first wife's death for sympathy STILL is just - I mean it's always been sickening. He sold his soul a LONG time ago, and probably even then did so at Jill's urging. What was funny to me though, is he was sitting there with his guitar, and he'd hear a few bars, and before the song even went there, he was already predicting where it would go, and started playing along.
There were a few songs with which he was already familiar, but some were new to him, and he found the notes and direction the song was going right away. And yeah, the Latin stuff is hot garbage. this was "common knowledge" way way back I mean, it was the widely disseminated rumor up here ( really don't want to doxx myself but anyway - wilmington area let's say ) and the other day I mentioned an old Bulletin expose on this at the time - to be fair the Bulletin WAS the more right leaning Philly paper but even recently there was some article mentioning how EARLY the affair between Joe and Jill started - he had another affair during his first marriage, ended that, and then Jill (who was married to Joe's best friend) broke up both marriages. the two couples were friends. anyway it's gossip but pretty prevalent gossip. his wife was DEVASTATED when she found out about the affair. a lot of speculation that she was trying to kill herself and the kids. It was his brother who stayed at the hospital bedside Joe would show up with the cameras. ..... People deal with grief in all sorts of ways. Some wear the dead bodies as a skin suit during campaigns and bang whores and chase power and wealth. I forget which stage of grieving that is though. OT. With the cancellations of live expositions and shows in the jewelry and lapidary worlds, instructors of classes ordinarily held at those events are taking them online and virtual. One of which I attended held in August had about ten instructors and twenty classes. Another one just announced today for December is at least 5x larger, both in the number of instructors and in the number of classes. Unless vendors of hard goods into this space get their acts together soon, in-person shows will rapidly become a thing of the past, and to their detriment. Rick Beato did a review of the current top 10 hits today, and surprisingly to me at least, he found reasons to praise about half the songs. Production values, the melody, their use of ACTUAL instruments, etc.
He only really got excited about the Weeknd song, which sounded like it was straight out of 1987. And hey, now I can say I like something that's currently popular, because that is a great sounding song. The wider Rick Beato Cinematic Universe has been great too - I found out Tim Pierce is one of my favorite guitarists that I've never heard of. (He played guitar on Bon Jovi's "Runaway" and dozens of other 80s and 90s hits, which is why it sounds nothing like Richie Sambora). Posted by: Ian S. at September 16, 2020 01:07 PM (ZGrMX) 497

That retweet was genius. Because Demomedia of course responded to Trump retweeting a doctored clip.
Which means a bunch more people will see the doctored clip. And the Demomedia will try to rebut it with the real clip. Which means more exposure for the real clip. Both are bad for Biden. Posted by: Nicholas Kronos at September 16, 2020 01:10 PM (vJCwr) 509

Rick Beato did a review of the current top 10 hits today, and surprisingly to me at least, he found reasons to praise about half the songs. Production values, the melody, their use of ACTUAL instruments, etc.
------------------- He only really got excited about the Weeknd song, which sounded like it was straight out of 1987. Rick Beato did a couple of great videos on how music has been ruined by voice modulators and by software to make the instrumentals 'perfect'. He is completely correct; any idiot can make a hit these days with no skills. And, conversely, older music which is authentically performed is worth much more respect.

It's actually not really hard. Beato has been making and teaching music for 30 years. He also has good relative pitch, he also knows all relevant chord progressions for pop music, which there are roughly 10 that have been used in, oh, about 50K songs over the last 75 years. So if you can suss out the key of a song, E Major for instance, there really only 3-4 chords that are going to make up the average song. If you take Robin Thicke's blurred lines, there are only two chords in the whole song, G and D. Not really hard to figure out. I've been playing piano off an on for 40 years.
