At least 13 Biden campaign staff members posted on Twitter on Friday and Saturday that they made donations to the Minnesota Freedom Fund, which opposes the practice of cash bail, or making people pay to avoid pre-trial imprisonment. The group uses donations to pay bail fees in Minneapolis. Biden campaign spokesman Andrew Bates said in a statement to Reuters that the former vice president opposes the institution of cash bail as a “modern day debtors prison.” But the campaign declined to answer questions on whether the donations were coordinated within the campaign, underscoring the politically thorny nature of the sometimes violent protests.The idea that "peaceful protesters" were being bailed out is obscene -- the cops weren't even arresting looters. I find that chart in Tim Pool's post, above, quite enlightening. I know it's betting pools, but they are measuring sentiment which is arguably much more reliable in this day of shy voters. It's a version of "who do you think your neighbors will vote for?" which people are more honest about answering.
So late June/Early July, when Covid numbers were surging and Trump seemed to have been set back on his heels by the Lafayette Park incident on June 1 was when I was getting massively worried about how this was going - I see in that chart that I was far from the only one who sensed it.
BUT - Covid is now burning itself out, the Left massively overplayed it's hand, and Trump bided his time and made no massive mistakes as events unfolded. (sending in troops, as we have discussed, could have been one of those massive mistakes) And now he can reap the rewards of his patience.

There was an interesting article in the NY Post the other day, written (anonymously) by a Dim party operative who operated out of New Jersey for decades. He (or she) details how they've been cheating with mail-in voting for many years now. They send their volunteers out to go door to door collecting mail-in ballots (as a public service to the voters, naturally) and then steam open the outer envelopes and replace the voters' ballots with ballots they've filled out themselves, then they re-seal the outer envelopes and mail them (using different mailboxes scattered around town, so as not to arouse suspicion by having too many ballots in any one box). They recruit and pay partisan postal workers in areas that are known to vote Republican to trash the ballots that come in there. They go to nursing homes and "help" demented and confused old people fill in their ballots by voting for the Dim candidates. They bend the corners of Dim ballots so that the Dims on the Board of Elections would know not to object to those ballots (the corner doesn't stay bent, but you can tell by looking at it that it has been bent) as they are counting the supposedly anonymous ballots and disposing of those that have irregularities. This particular crook was even boasting that he had invented the folder corner trick.
We know how desperate they are to win this coming election. They will be pulling out all the stops. The fraud will be more massive than ever.

Polling firms have to have some claim to accuracy, and usually that is benchmarked on their last poll (which is a shitty way to judge) and it seems Republicans ALWAYS magically "surge" in those final polls.
So they can get away with saying Trump 39 Hillary 52 the entire election and then at the very end put it in the margin of error. The whole time it makes Republicans bail on Trump and donors dry up.

My opinion, from years of looking closely in polls, is that the political biases of the polling firms has always been able to fudge a result through sample mix. They want to show a D+8 result, so they keep polling until they get the D+20 sample they need. There is never discussion of whether or not their sample has any correlation to actual voter registration.
In a situation like this, they may have finally reached the point where they can't hide it. A D+20 sample is showing a Trump lead, because so many Dem voters are going to vote for him. So they are sitting on their polls, hoping a new run will reverse the trend they are seeing.

Outside of his expert and historically informed opinion, it's pretty reasonable to say Flynn is taking a sledgehammer to whatever is left of the judiciary's presumed integrity, as is the DC Circuit. The case before him is 10,000 times more corrupt and troubling than the one he famously unraveled and reversed (Ted Stevens), obviously so, he knows it, and yet when DOJ dismisses it he breaks all precedent and tradition and beclowns his office by seeking to do some bizarre judicial prosecution.
It's an angels-on-pinheads kind of evaluation, but Sullivan's misconduct deserves a look as ranking right up there with the corrupt misconduct of the principals in this greatest scandal in American history.

That's one of the jokes you hear these various patriot groups enjoy. Including Proud Boys, many of whom are black or brown. They say stuff like "I didn't know I was a white racist until now.

I thought so, though it's been a couple of years since I reread the novel. But I seem to recall a story from Steve Allen that focuses on exactly that -- a public hating event in a totalitarian society. No doubt inspired by the novel, but it was rather well done.

Here's a couple of thought that may cheer some of you up:
1. The
longer the Portland killer evades arrest, the more likely it is that
he's moving from one friend's house to another, which means the more of
his friends can be arrested along with him for helping him evade arrest.
I'm guessing that's a felony when the fugitive committed first-degree
murder and all the friends know it. (Let's just hope he and his friends
are facing federal charges so they aren't all released without bail.)
2.
Along the same lines: If I were the feds, I'd be taking my time about
arresting him, discreetly trailing him from one criminal friend to
another, so as to increase the haul when the hammer comes down.

Maybe he should turn himself in right now, to avoid implicating any more
of you. And maybe the people who have been harboring him need to leave
the country before they're arrested and head for some other, more
politically-compatible country that would welcome them: I recommend

I get the sentiment. The people want to see the high and mighty brought low.
In a practical sense though, the crimes of the elite will be undermined MUCH BETTER by destroying the structure in which they've operated, REGARDLESS of whether the famous fellas ever have their necks in the guillotine.
To put it another way, it's way more important to shut down the Clinton Foundation, than it is to put Bill Clinton in jail. That's what Trump and Co. are working on.

I think of it like a late-thirties woman who has an affair and decides to leave her CPA schlub of a husband because she thinks that she can do better. Rhomboid, you are so right about this. The only thing that I would add is that in a fair world, everyone would have known about what happened to Ted Stevens. He would probably still be alive (or, dead of old age by now instead of plane crash) if he wasn't railroaded out of the Senate the way that he was.
