Quarantine Cafe: Animal Criminals Edition

Breaking and entering:

These animals are even trespassing into boats.

Apparently it's not even uncommon for otters to escape killer whales by jumping on to boats:

This dog's a straight-up thief:

This mistreated dog -- who'd been put in dogfights -- eventually stole her foster mom's heart.

And of course, more illegal entry:

We had a bat fly into our house when I was a kid. My older brother chased it around with a Louisville Slugger until it flew out the window.

That was when I learned you must fight bats with bats. It's the only thing they understand.

18 We're finally seeing bats around here again, after a few years of absence. The area was always just polluted with them, because of so many old mine entrances and abandoned mining shacks, but the White Nose Syndrome killed the poor little critters off almost completely. They were essentially gone from the area from about 2012 until last year. I saw a few in 2019, and this year I've seen even more. I'm glad they're back, I like 'em. I get one in the house every now and again, and if I'm quick enough I can open a window to let it out, and if I'm not quick enough, the cat just waits for it to land and...handles the situation.

And yes, glad you asked, it's 2020 and he was president way back just after the USSR collapsed. He's now railing against "foreign interference!" as crowds protest things (sound familiar?).

Haven't looked closely, but the election process probably would stack up decently against that of Wayne County, MI, so let's not get up on our high horse, as an ignorant unworldly "president" once vomited.

30 No - or not many - bats in coastal SoCal, I don't think. Probably not enough insects.

Had a nice little Southern Pacific rattler removed the other day. Haven't seen one in years. Really prefer to leave them be (rodent control), but next door has two little girls and two dogs, so.

40 The place where I used to live had those lever-style doorknobs. One of my cats figured out how to open them.

He's a fiendishly clever little shit. You know how you can turn your toilet paper around backwards on the roller to keep your cats from unravelling it? Yeah, he eventually figured out how to unravel it anyway. So now I have to keep it in a drawer next to the toilet.

In one incident, I got out of the shower with soap in my eyes, and reached for a towel, which started chittering at me. That was a near heart attack.

I found one bat stuck to a sticky mouse trap, which a tenant had left in the basement. I'm so soft-hearted, I gently peeled him off and released him outside. He climbed up the brick wall and hung there upside down for a while, then took off.

Being a lazy fuck, sometimes I forget to close the cellar door of Stately Poppins Manor. And I leave the lid of the washing machine open to remind me that yes, I did take the clothes out to put in the dryer.

Wife, two female kids, one male kid and MIL all started screaming and running around in circles while the bat flapped about the living room, malevolently (as is their wont).

I instantly ran out the door into the garage, followed by shrieks of: "Where are you going????? You have to get this bat outta here!!!!! Eeeeeeekkkk!!!"

The NHL has always been smarter about that. The Colorado Rockies became the New Jersey Devils, for example.

There are examples in baseball, too, of teams moving and not changing their damn geographically-themed names.

Like the Brooklyn Dodgers; they were named after pedestrians dodging trolleys on the street. Then they moved to Los Angeles, where that didn't happen.

I don't really know that much about TM, but meditation is a long tradition in the church-particularly with some well RC mystics, Saints and some Protestant ones, and I would hope they wouldn't be considered worshiping another God. since they loved Jesus. I use a breath prayer-by which I say something like " Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on me" or "Lord God, send your Holy Spirit and it's fruit" breathing in for seven seconds through my nose and letting it out for seven. I find it very relaxing and spiritually centering.

Dallas Willard-who was a great Christian writer- talks about meditation and the body and Christian meditation in his book-Renovation Of The Heart-which is about a number of things, but the main thing is the process of putting on the character of Christ

As of Aug. 11, there had been 270 C19 deaths* in the US in the 0-24 age cohort (which obviously encompasses all youth/HS sports). Out of *28,000+* total deaths in that cohort.

Yeah.

* as much as, or more than, ALL death statistics WRT cause, these counts require very strict scrutiny and adjustment, as they are based on a very poor definition and have been shown to exaggerate any reasonable count of deaths actually primarily caused by C19

Tunnel to Towers announced Friday that they will hold a special memorial ceremony in lower Manhattan in a bid to keep the 9/11 commemorations uninterrupted.

"The twin beams of light that shine over lower Manhattan in silent tribute to those lost on 9/11 are an iconic symbol of hope visibly showing that light will always triumph over darkness," said Frank Siller, Chairman and CEO of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

He added: "We will do everything that is humanly possible to make sure that on September 11, the night sky at Ground Zero will be illuminated with our Towers of Light tribute."

Tunnel to Towers, which counts former Mayor Rudy Giuliani among its honorary leadership, say they will take every possible precaution to ensure the safety of those attending this ceremony. They say masks will be provided on-site and will be mandatory for all in attendance, social distancing will be enforced and hand sanitizer will be available.

Fun fact: the Mayhem guy (Dean Winters) actually did die once, for about ten minutes, from a nasty infection. The doctors managed to revive him, and he lost a few fingers and toes.

I think he wins just because even death couldn't stop him.

However, Serrano from Major League is also now an insurance spokesman, and could probably give him a decent fight, especially with a little help from Jobu.

192 "the safety of those attending this ceremony. They say masks will be provided on-site and will be mandatory for all in attendance, social distancing will be enforced and hand sanitizer will be available."

FFS. Lavrentiy Beria on a pogo stick.

"safety" masks, hand sanitizer

I've noticed the least thoughtful or informed people I know or have encountered for a while now using this "safety" "safely" "stay safe" idiocy.

As I said earlier, it's a miracle, probably owing only to the economic pain, that the US hasn't immolated itself with some catastrophic nonsense like the Green New Deal. The populace/"elites"/most institutions are just dumbed down beyond recognition, and unable to think for themselves.

That's a bonus side effect, but I think this is more about cost. Generally, football teams have any more players and take more support for travel , etc. than say the swim team or volleyball team. So using Covid as an excuse to shut down the sport while allowing those other sports to continue is quite suspicious. They are saying that football is more face to face and higher risk of transmission.

364 If this was as bad as they say, they would be fighting the virus with everything that showed promise. Everything. Henry Ford Health System is arguing with the FDA's decision to not approve HCQ as a first line treatment or preventative after their trial showed it had positive results. Remember, Fauci was one of the first ones to dump on their trial, saying it lacked double blind , placebo designed structure.
Well yeah, you little weasel, we are in the middle of a pandemic and they were trying to get untested treatment to have some kind of research demonstrating safety and effectiveness.
Henry Ford is now in the middle of one of Fauci's preferred studies , but won't have results for several months yet. But there was NOTHING in their first study that should have prevented HCQ from being used .

The Ohio State fan board, Eleven Warriors , had an article posted a couple of days ago after football being cancelled was announced by a Sport's Medicine physician who interned at OSU and was asked occasionally to write clarifying articles about specific sports injuries, etc. so readers had more knowledge about it ( before they rant and rave about their favorite playing on medical redishirt) . Anyway, she wrote an article about safety protocols with Covid and football. She was pissed. She went through all the different , additional precautions that were being taken. She explained about Covid or any respiratory infections ability to create myocarditis, how the medical community is well aware of it since it's been recognized for years and how the players were all EKG'd as part of their admission physical to football programs and that would be an immediate retake if someone tested positive. And if they developed myocarditis, it is treatable and they would be treated. She said she doesn't know why these decisions to cancel are being made when these players will be under far greater supervision and care than students who aren't athletes. ( she knows, she just wouldn't say it outloud).
She also made the point that long term they have no idea if there are long term effects, because....it's long term. That is not a reason to withdraw from life.

The idiot Maskhole was spending a morning talking about Myocarditis. He kept trying to make it sound like a permanent life altering near death sentence the moment you had it as a side effect from covid. Basically if you get a viral infection you probably wind up with myocarditis and it usually only lasts a few hours to a few months. But he kept trying to push it as the reason to shut down sports.

424 Hi All - I've kept quiet about the Clinesmith media notice that he intends to plead guilty to one small charge of misleading the FISA court - and that given, it seems to be the first real (not fake) evidence that "something" is happening.

But let's not really kid ourselves - even Bill Barr isn't - it is the smallest, most non-consequential event that could have happen given the coup plot's vast reaching implications and the high level cast of characters associated with this. If something "happens" in the next few weeks associated with this, then okay - yes, low level folks plead out first before bigger fish are fried.

But Clinesmith is not, given what we know, is not the some grand lynch pin to a grand coup conspiracy to over throw the Trump admin. He has been charged with one of the lowest, least problematic felony charge you could be, and his lawyer is not silent on this as if a no particular agreement is involved. Otherwise his mouth piece would be silent on this - and he is not. So that complaining by Clinesmith's lawyer - in public - is not blowing up some deal apparently.

This is not really a great start for the "something is happening" folks - its the bare minimum - and when I say bare - I mean stripped down, nude and with no clothes in site minimum - its really not the way a "high profile" case is splashed by the prosecution, at all.

If anything, its the worst first guilty plea you would trot out as your first publicize catch if you were the prosecution. There is nothing, zero, high profile about the charges against this guy. No suggestion of conspiracy, no suggestion here of cohorts and follow on indictments in the publicity, no idea at all that there is some grand furtherance of fellow criminals - in short, its a short nothing burger plea on the slimmest of charges in the federal code book.

435 rick I think the quantity of material needed for lab testing may be significantly more than needed for infection.

But there are real problems with the PCR test, which was not designed as a diagnostic test, apparently has a high false positive rate, and - my favorite, in terms of how unfit such a test is for its current use, which is tracking present course of an epidemic - it can return a positive up to *3 months* after infection. That is, months after a (typically) asymptomatic case, somebody shows up as a "case", this week.

437 The idiot Maskhole was spending a morning talking about Myocarditis. He kept trying to make it sound like a permanent life altering near death sentence the moment you had it as a side effect from covid. Basically if you get a viral infection you probably wind up with myocarditis and it usually only lasts a few hours to a few months. But he kept trying to push it as the reason to shut down sports.
Posted by: buzzion at August 14, 2020 09:33 PM (vMCab)

jfc, you are the biggest liar in the world. I literally said Myocarditis lasts hours to months and is caused by viral infections among other things. Stop misrepresenting what I said. I clearly said that constant testing for COVID along with monitoring the heart would be needed so athletes don't die from going 110% on the field. It's up to the coaches, trainers, and doctors to keep these racehorses from working to death, you estrogen and soy filled genetic dead end.
Ask me how I know you have never played a sport beyond elementary school if that.

438 I don't know how it happened but we ended up with a bat in our family room about 8 years ago. My wife and daughter freaked out, the dog was jumping and barking for it. Chaos. So I remembered we bought a butterfly net for kiddo when she was little and of course it was still in the garage. I come back in with it and in just 3 swings I had caught the bat. The first two were too slow, so the third swing had some speed to it and the momentum had the net hitting the ground with some alacrity.
I thought I killed it so was in no hurry to get it back outside. In fact I was getting a doggy poop bag to put the now dead bat in when I noticed it was indeed not dead, but just resting. Quickly picked up the net and put a twist into it to keep the bat in and took it outside, where I figured I'd launch it like a ball out of a LaCrosse net. It didn't leave the net until it was pointed at the ground and bam! again for the little guy.
Back in the house I go to get the poop bag yet again, and when I came back out the little thing was gone.
Again.

Hardy little bastards.

448 Today, Infowars reporter Millie Weaver was arrested at her home. There is a lot of speculation surrounding her arrest due to the timing.

Spiro contacted the Portage County Sheriff's Office and they
confirmed Millie Weaver is in their custody. They also confirmed that
she was served a secret indictment.

The charges Ms. Weaver faces
are tampering with evidence, obstruction of justice and domestic
violence. The Sheriff's Office also confirmed she is being held without
bond and will remain in custody over the weekend until she appears
before a judge on Monday morning.

1. It's a way of spying on those 13 year old's families.

2. It's a way of spying on whatever devices those 13 year old boys and girls use to go on Tiktok.

3. They're not just spying on individual people, they're spying on a network of a couple tens of millions of people.

4. they spy on the devices they're loaded onto, not just the videos.

And the kicker is that this isn't even Durham's work product, this is Horowitz's work product, so I have no idea why this was announced in conjunction with "Durham's Criminal Investigation!!!!"

Horowitz did all of the heavy lifting and Barr/Durham decided to give this guy a tap on the wrist and wave around a promise to plead guilty as some sort of boob bait for the bubbas of "big things to come!!!!"

As has been said, we know what went down, we know who the actors are, this isn't complex, it wasn't hidden, they all either wrote it down, texted it, entered it into 302's and the sentinel system, it's all there.

But the bottom line is, in order to bring justice you have to have people in positions of authority who want to see justice done, and I don't believe Barr wants to do justice, he wants to keep the lid on as long as possible.

467 Weaver's "arrest" at the couple's home - which has yet to be
confirmed by authorities - was initially reported by Infowars on Friday,
shortly after the YouTube premiere of her documentary film "ShadowGate."
The film purports to expose the secrets of the massive 'Deep State'
intelligence apparatus manipulating politics within the US and beyond
its borders, based on the reports of two private intelligence
whistleblowers.

According to Google whistleblower Zach Vorhies, Weaver was actually
arrested before she could release the documentary, but one of the
whistleblowers involved, "Tore," released it instead. Her Twitter account @Tore_Says was reportedly suspended immediately thereafter.

Also, because I played multiple sports in High School, played in college, played after college, and continue to compete today as an athlete, I have known for the past 25 plus years that viral infections or infections causing fever can cause Myocarditis because doctors screen for that and tell you.

Posted by: Grump928(C) at August 11, 2020 09:23 AM

Define likely.
It ranges from permanent heart damage to myocarditis, which is inflammation of the heart which lasts hours to months. Myocarditis can be caused by many reasons and viral infections is one of them.
354k people die from Cardiomyopathy a year. Having people play a sport like football is dumb. Maybe hav them sign a waiver and get tested daily for COVID and heart conditions.
Like I said, modern athletes are like racehorses. They will go until they die. Adults, coaches, trainers, and doctors are responsible for making sure they don't work themsleves to death kinda like bird dogs and retrievers whirl hunting or training.
It is what it is.

475 I would like to let all know that the size of your Penis really matters in your relationship or marriage. I got married to my wife about 1 month after we met in a photo studio, we lived happily for the first 3 months of our marriage until my wife and I started having quarrels at home because I couldn't satisfy her in bed with my little penis. Actually my penis was very small, it measured about 4.5 inch long on erection and I am 51 years old. My wife said it was forbidden by the women of this world. My wife started sleeping with other men outside. Sometimes i will return from work without finding my wife at home and whenever i call or ask her where she was, she will always snub at me and sometimes just tell me to go get a larger dick. All this continued for a long time and it hurt me so much that I was at the edge of breaking up on the marriage till when I read about a doctor called DR.Moses Buba. online. I never thought i could smile and be in a happy marriage again if not for the help of DR.Moses Buba. I got the doctors Emailsbuba.herbalmiraclemedicine@gmail.com ) on the internet and i emailed him, and he got back to me with some encouraging words, he got me some herbs cream which i use for just 8 days and i began to feel the enlargement of my penis, and without surgery. This went on for a little period of about 10 days and to my surprise my wife keeps screaming that she loves my big dick now. Now my wife no longer cheats on me, and my penis is now about 10.5 inches long on erection and off course very large round. And now my wife uses breasts, hips and bums enlargement. I and my wife are very happy for the help rendered to me by DR.Moses Buba, and I want to say a big thanks to the Doctor for the help. You can contact the Doctor now on his Email buba.herbalmiraclemedicine@gmail.com ) OR WHATSAPP +2349060529305, you can even contact me to know my result or see it with your eye on whats-app or you can call me +886981036185 or
