Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | The Morning Rant![]() Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales was ordered last month to change the department’s policies to ban the use of tear gas and pepper spray.Oops. Personally, I don't think the Democrats have anything to worry about. 1. Jerry Nadler said the Portland riots are 'a myth', so why worry? 2. Any protests will be mostly peaceful, that's what all of them have been so far, so no problem. 3. They can just declare Milwaukee to be an autonomous zone. It'll be a big block party. They can even invite Seattle's mayor Jenny Durkan to officiate. This would be a perfect opportunity to show the world how to create an inclusive, loving, diverse community without all of those evil, nasty police stomping around and impinging on their personal freedoms. 4. Another idea is to declare the DNC as a gun-free zone. That will guarantee everybody's security. 5. They could always hire Antifa to provide security. What could go wrong? 6. When in doubt, call in the social workers. Many top Democrats have reacted to the deployment of federal officers in response to the extremist attacks by smearing them or by lying about what it happening.Because who are you going to believe, the Democrats or your lying eyes? 🤔 ![]()

She started her career singing for radio programs in Memphis, TN, and Louisville, KY. She got married again, divorced again, married again, divorced again, and somewhere along the line, she adopted the stage name of Dale Evans. She eventually got into movies where she met a singing cowboy actor named Leonard Slye, who was going by his stage name Dick Weston, then changed that to Roy Rogers. And their relationship just sort of clicked. His second wife had just passed away and Evans' third marriage had just ended, so when they tied the knot in 1947, you might think that the odds were stacked against them. And perhaps they were. But they beat the odds. Their marriage lasted until Rogers' death in 1998, over 50 years. That thing in the sidebar with Bret Easton Ellis is interesting. Mostly because the interviewer (Eric Weinstein) doesn't let Bret get a word in sideways.
It's also notable that Weinstein understands that the elites hate Trump because they've decided that being rich means LARPing as a retarded Victorian English nobleman and Trump doesn't. Antifa has just been reclassified as right wing.
Posted by: TheJamesMadison, running from a biplane in a cornfield at July 29, 2020 11:20 AM (UWqZJ) Well, we're technically left wing, so let's just set the record straight and let them have the label. In the original French definition, the Left was classical Liberals and Republicans and the Right was Monarchists. We never changed. We are what we are - classical liberals who believe in representative government. Our "Left", in its embrace of the government as the solution to all of life's problems, and "rule by experts" (with expertise defined as an Ivy League degree), has practically reinvented feudalism. Our political labels are backwards. We're the left. They're the right. If we embrace this, we can use decades of Pavlovian responses to the specter of "right-wing terrorism" and "the far right" against them. Jeesh, that Joe Friday and partner speech, amazingly relevant. We have seen the Chaz utopia, no thanks. I suppose people would rather blame all of their boredom on our system, and then have an excuse to tear it down? Pretty strange cross section of people, I have seen a homeless guy (guy with the tattoo) and molotov girl in NYC, the AWFL girls, the young man with the AirJordans that was outed by his grammie. All of them white. My point? Not sure of my point. Just trying to find a common denominator. I guess just boredom and unhappiness.

https://tinyurl.com/ybgmuey2 Interesting tidbit: First, right-wing terrorism refers to the use or threat of violence by sub-national or non-state entities whose goals may include racial or ethnic supremacy; opposition to government authority; anger at women, including from the incel ("involuntary celibate") movement; and outrage against certain policies, such as abortion. This analysis uses the term "right-wing terrorism" rather than "racially- and ethnically-motivated violent extremism," or REMVE, which is used by some in the U.S. government. Second, left-wing terrorism involves the use or threat of violence by sub-national or non-state entities that oppose capitalism, imperialism, and colonialism; pursue environmental or animal rights issues; espouse pro-communist or pro-socialist beliefs; or support a decentralized social and political system such as anarchism. Rachel Welch did some filming in Portland/Vancouver area back in the 70's. One of the filming locations was at my BNL's high school. The principal got to select a couple of students to have background scene roles, and one guy got to "accidently bump into her" as she came around a corner of the building. Sadly my BNL did not get that role. But the quote of the guy who did is memorable to this day. When asked what did he remember about it, he said, "There are two things I remember about Miss Welch!"

Cancelling conventions, which are boring, and cancelling debates are two different things. A debate can be done remotely. Failure to show for one will not be well received. Any remote debate could see all sorts of electronic shenanigans. The lag between sites could be artificial and give Ol' Slow Joe's team time to give him the answer on his monitor. Recall there were previous accusations of debaters using earpieces on which they were fed answers. I always thought Brian Dennehy was quite a good actor. I'm not really sure where the whole idea of his being as large as planet comes from.
I never considered the jokes about his "roles" to be a comment on his physical size as much as I considered them to be a function of his presence and solid, down to earth performing style. Posted by: Krebs v Carnot: Epic Battle of the Cycling Stars (TM) at July 29, 2020 11:38 AM (pNxlR) I think the reason the meme resonates is that for most of us, the first time we saw him was as a pretty fit Sheriff in the first Rambo movie. After that we watched him on and off for 40 years, and like Leon, he kept getting a little larger each time. By a couple of years ago, find a picture of him with that beard and his head could be have been the model for the great Stone Head in Zardoz. with everything going on, it was easy to miss that he just died in April of this year, at the age of 81. First, the November 2020 presidential election will likely be a significant source of anger and polarization that increases the possibility of terrorism. Some-though not all-far-right extremists associate themselves with President Trump and may resort to violence before or after the election. As U.S. Department of Justice documents have highlighted, some far-right extremists have referred to themselves as "Trumpenkriegers"-or "fighters for Trump." If President Trump loses the election, some extremists may use violence because they believe -however incorrectly - that there was fraud or that the election of Democratic candidate Joe Biden will undermine their extremist objectives. Alternatively, some on the far-left could resort to terrorism if President Trump is re-elected. In June 14, 2017, James Hodgkinson- a left-wing extremist - shot U.S. House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, U.S. Capitol Police officer Crystal Griner, congressional aide Zack Barth, and lobbyist Matt Mika in Alexandria, VA. A few months earlier, Hodgkinson wrote in a Facebook post that "Trump is a Traitor. Trump Has Destroyed Our Democracy. It's Time to Destroy Trump & Co." Tension on both the far right and far left has dramatically risen over the past several years.

He quit, and returned to Michigan, but got an email from the non profit a few nights ago. The email stated that the non profit will soon be shut down. The reason??? The non profit had not immediately put their support of BLM on their website and had not contributed financially to BLM. This non profit deals exclusively in Africa, is staffed by mostly white, young and college educated kids, who do nothing but try to lift the lives of Africans!
Although after so many years of working for this non profit, the stepson had gotten disillusioned , the fact That BLM wants them shut down for not towing the line has opened the eyes of my BFF and her very liberal husband! Oh, they're still trying to make this a "thing?" First, it's a NATIONAL park, so why should attendance by locals matter? Second, has the person who wrote the article ever looked at an Arizona map (as well as NM, Utah, CO, and WY) and seen the % of land that is privately owned vs. land that is owned by the state, the federal government, or is a Native-American reservation? Let's just say that locals in Western states have a lot of options, and are likely leaving the national parks to tourists while enjoying other less well-known spots of beauty. Posted by: Lady in Black at July 29, 2020 12:00 PM (O+I8R) ++++++++++++ He can't. Not really. Trump could direct the State Department to offer his asylum. He could get the paperwork sorted. He could get Robinson a visa and a passport. All that could be done. But the offer would be empty. Meaningless. Trump doesn't control the country. If Robinson were to take him up on the offer, he would not likely be prosecuted but the people who want to torture and murder him in the UK have analogues here, and their domestic analogues have more money and power. Asylum would be a fiction. If I were Robinson, I would never move here. I'd try to find accommodation in a third-world country that is fairly free and on the move. Botswana, maybe. Or Kenya. Somebody I know who's a pastor and has had several relatives or friends die because of Wuhan Flu (but they lived in Brooklyn and were older or had other underlying conditions) is hysterical about it. She is having a few worship services in person, but she won't let the congregation sing because the American Academy of Choral Singers or some name like that says spit can travel up to 25 feet. Last I heard the American Academy of Choral Singers are not doctors.

The Left *does* consistently seem to be more about what you think and feel than how you act.
But bottom line it's excuses all the way down. Posted by: ... at July 29, 2020 12:02 PM (bFcrv) They subscribe to a subjective philosophy. There is no truth, mankind cannot know truth, etc. With such a worldview, cause and effect have no relation. Intent is all that matters. If you mean well and keep rolling the dice, you're going to win as much as everyone else, in the long run. When the results don't match their expectations, they come to the conclusion that someome rigged the game, rather than blame their philosophy. Our philosophy - a derivative of Enlightenment-era rationalism - is objective. Man can discover truth. Effect follows cause. You can learn from mistakes. If something doesn't wotk, try something else. You will succeed when you discover a valid method. If our results don't match our expectations, we start analyzing things to figure out what we got wrong. Posted by: Cato, Collectivism Delenda Est at July 29, 2020 12:12 PM (J+mig) 337

Trump doesn't even need an EO to deal with big tech. Forget about speech fairness, speech codes, equal time, or anything else. Those are slippery slopes right to hell.
Just direct the FTC to begin and expedite, with top institutional priority, antitrust actions against the tech monopolies and their mutual oligopolies. We need no new rules or laws or requirements. These firms are all in blatant antitrust violation. Break them up and blow them to pieces. There will be consequences. We can predict some of them, though not all of them. We'll learn. It will be worth the uncertainty and the disruptions. Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at July 29, 2020 12:21 PM (hYcqw) 382

The idea is to protect it from ever being bulldozed and developed. It may seem like they are everywhere if you're in Arizona, but actually compare pictures today of anything within 50 miles of Phoenix to what it looked like even in the 1950's, and you can see how most of the original flora has been wiped out, even on the still vacant land. Posted by: andycanuck at July 29, 2020 12:16 PM (an7Mv) ++++++++++++ This is extremely racist. They are assuming the Kapernick drinks Ripple to achieve hope. Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at July 29, 2020 12:23 PM (hYcqw) 391

Heh. The prep. Had the exam with the usual prep stuff (how can one man have that much in him?) Went for the test and everything OK. I visited a lady friend of mine. One of her friends was in the kitchen. Lady friend asks me how things went and I told her fine, and to tell you the truth I feel pretty good after a good clean out. Lady friend's friend proceeds to tell us she does the prep once a week, after finding citrus of magnesia OTC. Fucking nut.

369 Is that the one where the role of Brian Dennehy was played by Brian Keith?
-- OMG, you're right! I got them mixed up. It was Brian Keith. Posted by: Lady in Black at July 29, 2020 12:18 PM (O+I8R) I was actually joking, there (a variant of the "Brian Dennehy plays everything" running joke around here), but I'm glad I could help! Those two guys are pretty easy to get mixed up, too. They were both sort of square-shaped, and tough but soft-spoken, with similar hair and voices, and they tended to play similar roles and wear similar costumes. Some leftwing Dem state senator tried to go video the "mostly peaceful" riots in Minneapolis to show how peaceful they were. They kicked his ass and broke his phone.

I have one question. Will doing this disrupt the scheduled delivery of Mrs. Zod's Ahmad tea from Amazon Prime? Because if it will, then this antitrust activity is prohibited. Thank you. Posted by: Zod at July 29, 2020 12:27 PM (yvnmY) 402

IIRC, Dennehy played the overweight cuckold architect in "Belly of an Architect," which was a terrible movie about something.

Posted by: Zod at July 29, 2020 12:27 PM (yvnmY) +++++++++++ Probably not, unless Amazon itself is broken up. That is a possibility. They don't have a retail monopoly, but they are part of the cloud services cartel. And antitrust action that split out and then split up AWS, for example, would constrict Amazon's cashflow to the point that Prime itself would be a wildly different animal. Amazon has massive internal subsidies, and most of them come from the AWS cash cow. So I don't know, but it's possible. Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at July 29, 2020 12:30 PM (hYcqw) 405
