Not necessarily. The local online paper-which comes out of a very "Blue" area (and no, N.J is not all blue) has feelings against Murphy being a majority. They're unhappy about his corona response. They're unhappy with what he's doing about schools. A lot of people he's too authoritarian and that regulations for COVID are just all over the map.

That is SOP for any government or agency. During the O'Bummer years many states (Vermont included) borrowed money from the feds to pay unemployment claims, but failed to pay it back. To get it back the feds then just squeezed business owners by jacking up what we had to pay. My federal unemployment taxes went up 50% overnight. They always go for the soft target, particularly if soft targets are dispersed and not acting as a group.

They argue that this bigotry has serious deleterious effects on trans people because human interaction, physical touching, love/emotional intercourse and sex are vital to normal humanity and that normal straight preferences prohibit trans people from realizing their humanity and drives mental health problems and suicide among the trans population.
Yet these same people go off on screeds about the dangerous and terrifying "incels" who need to be rounded up and taken off the streets for the good of society.

When I was stationed in Hawaii, the cost for keeping my Texas plates was higher than getting Hawaii plates. Had both, kept the Texas plates in the trunk. When I got out and picked up my car in Cali, the first thing I did was switch the plates back out.

They were going to try to make Barr take the 5th amendment or something, then he agreed to testify, then it got put off, and then Covid happened for 4 months. Basically, yes. I would guess that it goes back to the 1994 "Assault Weapons Ban" which was itself largely cribbed from a California bill that included a list of specific make and model firearms that were deemed to be especially evil. At the time, there weren't all that many AR pattern rifles on the market but Bushmaster was one of them.

But New Jersey, like so many blue states, is being destroyed so thoroughly that it's not capable of coming back, no matter who runs it. Once all the big payers and businesses leave, it's game over. No more easy money. Now that's something that never occurred to me. Even at the height of the HIV epidemic, when getting the virus was essentially 100% fatal, nobody was forced to wear a peener mask.
Oddly enough, public health response was education, and while some public health departments went around scaring the straights (you're all gonna get it, even you teenagers who are just getting to second base with each other), for the most part the intent was education.

This is something that should be understood.
My father was a small town political figure that made a habit out of challenging the good ol' boy network that fleeced local government.
As such, the local media who were in bed with the GOB network, routinely ran opinion pieces assaulting his character, his family, and his political beliefs.
Finally, my father, a rough man who has grown up as a coal miner, had had enough after a particularly nasty character attack and walked into the publisher's office at the local paper and told the editor "If I ever see my name in your paper again, other than in an obituary from Heaven, I'll catch you out and I'll take a knife and slit your throat. Are we clear?"
His name never appeared in the paper again.
That left a very distinct impression on me as an 8 year old kid, and it's a lesson I have never forgotten.

I take D, E, red rice yeast, fish oil, a probiotic, and glucosamine and chondroitan. The last I started taking for knee pain and it went away. Recently added magnesium and I understand this is also good for warding off the dreaded virus. It sounds like a lot, but I am rarely sick. Can't remember the last time I had a cold. The red rice yeast is a natural statin.

If they had a hearing that actually hurt them, it was that Mueller degringolade. That whole investigation was a real fuckup, and they made the best of it they could by having Mueller feign senility, but I believe it ended their ability to convince large numbers of people of the Muh Russia narrative.
Anyone still lending it credibility now is probably locked in.

On my list of future golf trips is Bandon Dunes Golf Resort along the SW coast of Oregon. Other than the distance (I live in DC Metro), it's all the lunatics that give me a pause. I wouldn't be flying into Portland but Eugene, North Bend, or Medford (why yes, I have looked into this potential golf trip). Being on a plane full of nutjobs and cultists is not motivating. N. Bend is closest to the resort, the other 2 require a scenic drive through Oregon to get too the resort. Right now its just a thought process. I haven't made any reservations or anything.

I personally know two people who are still working full time but getting unemployment plus the $600 kicker because they lost their part time jobs as bartenders and in Texas you can get "partial" unemployment for that situation and that gives you the $600 extra from the Fed.

Heck, the cops don't give a sh*t anymore because they know it's a waste of their time, too. You ain't kidding. I'd say 99 times out of 100 the people seeking positions of power or responsibility are the very last people you want having those positions. The highest point in Nebraska is over 5000 ft. The highest point in PA is slightly over 3000 ft. I've been on top of Mt. Davis in PA and it's quite the site. Really pretty there. No, it's not the Rockies but it's still pretty (I'm from PA so going homer here). I haven't been to the highest point in Nebraska but I've read about it. Sense of humor those Nebraskans.

I recently watched all four films of the series and found it fascinating. To see a film made for an entirely different culture was like looking through a funhouse mirror. They were jingoistic and xenophobic where the outsiders were all bad and China was all great and virtuous, albeit weak and oppressed.
I don't know that they are worse than your typical American action film though, Rocky 2 3 and 4 come to mind, or any of several Chuck Norris movies.

I...do not like these movies. At all.
I even find the action overrated. Not bad, mind you, but serviceable instead of great.
Even most of the positive reviews end up saying, "Don't bother with the story. It's the action!"
So, ignore about 2/3 of the movie in favor of the pretty good action scenes.

His daughter runs his horse farm in Colts Neck. The farm counts as a business for tax purposes.
Last I heard the daughter lives on the property so not sure how that would effect the taxes payed.
His other NJ properties where all sold off by 2016.
