"Weaponizing" Black and Brown Bodies and Voices [KT]

I have run across a meme on social media a couple of times to the effect that if a white person posts a quote (worse, a quote with a picture) from a famous black person who thinks that the current "discussion" about race is going overboard, the white person is "Weaponizing Black and Brown Bodies and Voices". UNLESS that white person is willing to read a book by a PhD in grievance studies or a related field.

That's a little variation on "shut up, he explained"! Odd that the meme maker didn't recognize that by making an appeal to authority, he or she (or they) was also "weaponizing black and brown bodies and voices".

Of course, the reason a black person may be quoted by a white person is that white people have also been told that if they express their own opinion outside of Critical Race Theory, they are 'whitesplaining". I got blocked by one person for challenging this meme.

So today I am weaponizing.

Below the fold, a conversation between two people with different skin colors. The News Junkie at Maggies Farm presented it as the moral case against Black Lives Matter. Coleman Hughes believes that his views would not be taken as seriously as they are if he were white.

If you don't have time to listen to the whole thing, start at about 16 minutes. Some points: Inter-racial tensions are very high right now. How the meaning of anti-racism has changed from the Civil rights era. "It's a very different ethos. I think it's much more dangerous". Hughes also notes at about 21 minutes that by their very success, Black Lives Matter has ended up disproving their fundamental premise. Now, America only cares when the victim is black.

Should we throw out all of our foundational morality to correct for past victimization of blacks? Five percent of society can change society if the other 95% stay silent. You stay silent at first, then you are forced to stay silent.

Hughes is not a dream reference for conservatives and libertarians. He has always thought of himself as a liberal growing up. The last couple of minutes of the video touch on politics. He doesn't seem to like Trump, but thinks Trump will benefit from the current BLM chaos. He plans to vote for Biden, because he likes politicians to be boring.

I think he has missed a few details concerning Biden, given his own concerns about the far left. Or more precisely, details about Biden's Rolodex, as Dennis Prager would have said 30 years ago about any politician you were considering during an election.

But he would probably be willing to talk to you about that.

I believe that the video above was occasioned by this piece by Hughes in City Journal, focusing on stories and data regarding shootings by police, riots and race.

Could be shareable with those not sure about the far left position, if you have a mind to follow his quiet call to action in the video above, that the time to speak up is when you still can speak up. From the City Journal piece:

The brutal death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police officers has sparked protests and riots around the United States. We have witnessed humanity at its finest and at its ugliest. . .
At the root of the unrest is the Black Lives Matter movement, which began with the acquittal of George Zimmerman in 2013 and rose to national prominence in the wake of Michael Brown's death in 2014. My view of BLM is mixed. On the one hand, I agree that police departments too often have tolerated and even enabled corruption. Rather than relying on impartial third parties, departments often decide whether to discipline their own officers; the legal doctrine of qualified immunity sets what many say is an unreasonably high bar for civilians bringing civil-rights lawsuits against police officers. Bodycams (which increase transparency, to the benefit of both wrongly treated police suspects and wrongly accused police) are not yet universal. In the face of police unions that oppose even reasonable reforms, Black Lives Matter seems a force for positive change.
On the other hand, the basic premise of Black Lives Matter--that racist cops are killing unarmed black people--is false. There was a time when I believed it. . .

This politicization of language has been going on a long time. But in the 90's when I was doing a hospital a chaplaincy study thing one of my supervisors who was a pasty white person from Scandanavia said "We" (by which she meant the white people in our group) needed to watch how we used language because saying something like "Are you feeling like you're in darkness?" ie. depressed, distressed could be perceived as racist-impyling that being "dark" was a bad thing that "Light was good and darkness was bad". She never asked the Black guy from Liberia in our group how he perceived those words. I thought it was ridiculous then and I still do.

I don't get it, and probably because I don't receive the annual Newspeak Guide from academia in my mailbox.

Phrases like "your best life" or "lived experiences" come to mind for the most recent of these immediate cliches, used in everything from speeches to T.V. pundits to car commercials until they're worn out and replaced with next year's new nonsense terms. I think I saw a study that stated something like 75% of Blacks were born into two-parent households 50 years ago or so, but today that stat is 25%.

And the sad thing is that this is not held up as something bad, but seems to be pushed as "black culture" whereas intact families are considered "acting white".

That is the attitude that needs to change.

And this, again, is exactly what Mein Kampf did to the German People for the (almost) 20 years leading up to WW2. 52 Interestingly enough mostly the only people who have to be concerned are working in areas that they allowed to grow this irrational for years.

It's not like the waring signs weren't there 50 years ago. And they pooh poohed the warnings that they received then and they did nothing to counter act it.

Sure there's a few innocents but mostly everyone catching the crap kept their mouths shut for years out of fear (rightly) that they would get a lot of push back for telling the truth. But MAYBE if they had they could've gotten enough folks to see how dangerous and destructive and unhelpful (along with controlling and fascist) that sort of stuff was/is. I'm talking about Political Correctness cause all this woke and cancel stuff derived directly from that and the lack of stopping it years ago.

In fact, I'll bet if some research could be done (cause some of these folks are not in the public eye that much back then) you'd find that they actually went along with it and thought it was a good thing to happen and maybe they did a little shaming of others themselves.

What goes around, comes around and I don't have much concern about those it bites. I'm more concerned about how it's now spread into daily life thanks to the media and all the idiots who let it go.

I see the demand for instant gratification in the professional world as well. People want things done RIGHT NOW, to get the answer RIGHT NOW, to talk to that person RIGHT NOW, even when there is no true urgency attached to it outside their subjective desire.

The major problem with the Versailles Treaty is that they did not move to stop Germany's reoccupation of the Rhineland when the French and British had a chance. The little Corporal had not yet rearmed and the French and British forces there could have settled Hitler's goose then once and for all.

The Germany Army fully expected such a result and hoped that would be the end of him. Later, Generals and General staff were neutered shortly by the blood oath required by the Corporal.

We should be clear that there is a huge difference between different churches and movements - I'm outside the cities more, I'm exposed to what city people is "country folk" which is actually small town America. It really has become a different nation than Big City America.

In small town America, black churches are still the most faithful, most dedicated, most Christian congregations you can find. Their affiliation is often AME, or any of the smaller congregational groups that city people don't even know exist. They are the best people you could ever want to know.

BUT in the Cities, the large churches with money have been taken over by men like Obama's Reverand Wright in Chicago, or men in the mold of Al Sharpton. They go to the big cities because that's where the money and the power is, and that's all they are after. Those are the one who preach hate and division and grievance and vengeance.

And don't even get me started on Elijah Muhammed and his disciple Louis Farrakhan, the Nation of Islam (aka Black Muslims) and their 50 year drive towards starting a literal race war, just like Charlie Manson wanted. That's who the Dem Party is openly embracing now.

The Sharptons and Jacksons of this country, the flakes that write books like "White Fragility" have poisoned entire generations of minds to hate this country and its values. As someone who has served in the military and continues to serve in other capacities, I have worked for black, brown, white, male and female bosses. In the end, when we were overseas, it came down to this:

A Tea Party protest that, when a bunch of black congresscritters thought they could have a go at it, they decided to walk through the crowd, rather than using their usual route, which I think includes tunnels.

So they were baiting this Tea Party crowd.

Claimed he was spat upon, when the video clearly showed he was not. May or may not have falsely claimed he heard the N word, but that may have been someone else.

There is a lot of truth to that. One big difference is that whites have centuries of accumulated social and financial capital. There's a lot more room for them to screw up, as many do their level best to do. If your family has assets and you screw up, they can bail you out a lot more than if your family has nothing. Regardless, at some point, the accumulated wealth of the past runs out (cue Maggie Thatcher quote), and things go pear-shaped.

A Tea Party protest that, when a bunch of black congresscritters thought they could have a go at it, they decided to walk through the crowd, rather than using their usual route, which I think includes tunnels.

So they were baiting this Tea Party crowd.

Claimed he was spat upon, when the video clearly showed he was not. May or may not have falsely claimed he heard the N word, but that may have been someone else.

In other words, a bunch of black men in power, trying to hold down a bunch of ordinary people, black and white, who had little.

It's boiled over because, unlike the classroom or the cloister, these events happen on public streets and technology allows it to spread near-instantly across the country, even across the world. Along with the ability to edit, even deceptively, the view of it so folks only see a part of what happened, rather than the whole context.

So, Hughes apparently can understand both sides of the issue. But it looks like he's missing cause and effect. The disease versus the symptom. And voting for Biden, and the same Democrats in the cities who helped mismanage this festering system, will only continue the festering system. I can say this, having lived in St. Louis most of my life, when we had these massive floods, it seems the rest of the country thought we were all up to our earballs in flood water, when of course that's just not how it works. The vast majority of the area remains unaffected, and the areas that are... well, those are the ones that get on teevee.

The difference is that Three Gorge Dam is the center point. A few levees failing isn't going to affect the higher ground, but the failure of a dam of that size is going to take out a major part of the Yangste lowlands.

As with most human behavior, things are on a spectrum.

From those who "wear masks" or take on different roles in their lives, because we do (I don't talk to my boss the same way I talk to my cats), to those who completely dissociate one aspect of their personality to another.

There's a concept of "parts" that is gaining some traction these days, and if we can sorta identify which part of us is acting in which situation, we can benefit in two ways: 1. We can recognize it as how we respond to any given situation, and try not to self-criticize for something that sorta came naturally to us, and B. We can recognize where and when those "parts" are not helping, and adjust our behavior accordingly.

Germany's crimes were committed within Germany and in bordering countries, so the Germans never really had a real ability to deny that they knew what was up.

The Japanese committed their crimes overseas so they had a little more plausible deniability. Of course their newspapers daily published the results of beheading "competitions" between army officers serving in China, so they knew.

The homogeneity of Japan may be denounced as "racist" (failure to submit to Multiculturalism as a Religion), but there is certainly some virtue in "pride" in one's culture, or at least in the virtuous parts of those cultures. A strong culture becomes embedded with traditions/heritage/arts and tied directly to their "race". Mixing cultures is not proven to be a benefit to building a strong nation, certainly not mixing every culture and demanding all be judged as equal. We have strength despite diversity, but there are limits (e.g. Sharia law)

I can surely find historical fault with Japan's treatment of The Other (e.g. WW2 prisoners, yikes) ... but their current post war forced corrections has built an ally and from what I hear, pretty nice country (their Hentai craze and low birth rate issues may need help).

If the HBO show is to be believed, part of the reason Chernobyl went kablooey is because they were wanting to do their "safety" test at a time that was convenient for the plant, when they could lower the power output by the reactors, to kinda sorta artificially show how they could pull out the rods and put them back in and all that, in a safe manner.

However.... it was the end of the month, and nearby factories were working around the clock to meet quotas. They absolutely could NOT have the reactors slowly walked down to below normal capacity, so they waited and tried to do it all at once, essentially.

Well... that was a bad idea.

Quotas... they don't ALWAYS result in nukular explosions, but in this era of safety first, I say we get rid of all quotas, everywhere.

I was pleasantly surprised last weekend, we went somewhere and no one was wearing masks.

My assumption is everyone will be this weekend, and frankly I'm not going to. If I have to wear one in a grocery store, fine, but I'll be damned if I'm going to be out there in God's green Earth, wearing a mask because Penis-head doesn't want to be "it" with the Governors grabass game.

price of glyphosate (RoundUp) more than doubled when they shut down plants in China that year, for the Olympics, from what I heard. I imagine they shut down many things that caused the smog.

NO, imo it was the money from Soros and others that pressed their planned PsyOp into action, and a compliant media pushed the one video and censored the rest of the story. The riots were funded by Soros agitators (Creamer style) and media ran 24/7, mayors ordered stand down and room to riot. This was no grassroots "reaction", it was a Psychological Operation coordinated across multiple platforms of power. (still ongoing)

Based on some interactions I have had with people, I think it is valuable just to get the lefties thinking and talking about actual ideas, if you can. Even if this involves someone who still shares many of their positions. I prefer to share the more limited printed, one-topic essays rather than videos in most cases. I thought Hughes looked somewhat reluctant to discuss politics, but was not happy with that short section of the video.

At least Hughes isn't in the category of the people who put together the anti-whiteness training for the employees of the City of Seattle. That's the other part of the Soros-funded war plan you alluded to.

Hughes seems to understand that the challenge to free speech is critical at this time. Even if he doesn't seem to see Biden as an imminent threat because he is "boring". I wish he seemed more cognizant of "Camp Biden" and how far to the left it has gone. On the other hand, some people in Camp Biden may feel like they have lost control of the far left, too.
