As Trump's Job Approval Falls, He Regrets Taking the Advice of His Useless Idiot Liberal Son-in-Law Jared Kushner

I've heard some people saying that Trump isn't doing more to fight antifa and BLM because Jared's pushing a woke agenda and is telling Trump he's close to winning enough of the black vote to guarantee reelection.

Yes, but: No adviser to the president has more power over the White House and the campaign than Kushner. And nobody we've spoken to suggested that fundamental dynamic will change. It's always possible that the views Trump expressed recently could just be a passing phase.

For the most part people don't have the ability to seek out the perfect candidates for positions and the pool he has to choose from is filled with bad options(but which are not necessarily apparent from the outset).

Also the fear that Trump would listen to Jared/Ivanka on Global Warming, gun control, Issue X, etc. has been going on since he got elected. I don't think Trump lets people influence him that way, although he probably appears amenable to all suggestions when talking with people.

I called that in March when we supposed to start the moving process in the Spring.

I put the brakes on the whole deal when this started because I knew with 100% absolute certainty that we were going to be closed down again this fall because we would have a second wave hooked up with the normal flu season and every single one would panic again.

And that's exactly when we would have been selling this house and buying another one.

They're then applying whatever model they have on top of it, making the very real possibility that they don't have anything close to a large enough randomized sample to be statistically useful even worse by applying a model that, honestly, just makes things worse.

Jared also was the point person who got most of the ball rolling on moving the US embassy to Jerusalem. Two problems this month. First was rough running and coolant loss that experience had taught us was likely to be a blown head gasket, requiring an engine teardown and big bucks. Nope. Leaking reservoir cap and one bad spark plug coil. They also, no charge, replaced the sticky starter relay.

Second was a/c failing to cool. Given our usual luck, we figured it'd be the compressor. Nope, again -- leaking filler valves and accumulator. They added an a/c belt.

So both came in for less than we'd expected even one to cost. Plus friendly service, including consideration for both of us using canes.

Actually, probably not. They have been working on the "Get Out the Vote" ground game preparation for two years, at least. And Kushner has some influence on organization.

I would not say that Jared is the most influential Trump advisor. But I would say that the fact he is married to Ivanka (whom Trump truly adores) counts for a lot. Trump really loves his daughter Ivanka, which gets Kushner close to him.
Kushner and Ivanka are valuable voices for Donald to hear, but he has to be careful about taking their advice too much.
He brought in Bolton to hear an adversarial voice, and that didn't help him at all.

Just for the sake of history, the reason London and other European cities grew throughout the middle ages is that, if you were born out in the country and you weren't nobility, you could either stay on your Lord's land and work the fields for him every day until you died, or you could try to go find a spot for yourself in a city and be something more.

We've been watching re-runs of "Celebrity Apprentice" for years ago (before DJT was President), and Ivanka is on frequently with Donald (as was Eric and Don Jr.). Ivanka comes across as pretty insightful and smart. She is no dummy.

Don Jr. was, at times, a little sarcastic with the Old Man, and Donald J. sometimes slapped him down a little bit (verbally). Eric at the time came across as a little young and nerdy. They've all grown some since those years.

The following comes from working on campaigns from local to national doing numbers analysis in some, being educated in the field, and actually conducting surveys by phone and in person including those involving sensitive subjects.

First, the traditional random digit dialing polls are much less accurate than they used to be and the problems are particularly acute in state polling. The state polling issue is that cell phone area codes may have little connection to actual residence anymore and to some extent, this is true for voip phone numbers as well. The other problem is non-response based on caller id, call blocking, etc. People are deluged with spam calls, especially long term landlines etc. and simply do not answer unidentified callers or even identified ones with no relevance.

Second, there is ample example of the "shy" Trump voter effect this year--he has consistently did better with the Rasmussen robo-poll than any involving in-person calls. The witch hunting atmosphere makes that worse and even respondents may be lying on primary voting choice questions to avoid possible harassment down the road.

Third, probably a significant reduction in Trump support comes from disappointed followers that a) want to end shutdowns over China Flu, and b) want a much stronger response to rioters and protestors. Voting for Biden in Nov. will not get them either policy but it is easy on a poll now to express displeasure with Trump's leaving COVID and riot policies to the states and local areas.

Fourth, national polling is particularly susceptible to over sampling California and New York due to their size of population.

Fifth, and last, partisan alignment does not shift very much and any poll should be reweighted to Gallup measures of partisanship in the electorate at a minimum. In reality, what happens is bad news for one party or the other causes movement to claims of independence so a safe distribution is about 1/3 R, 1/3 D, and 1/3 I and a substantial number of the independent voters are actually leaners to one party or the other. Trump, unlike Bush, has consistently held on to about 40-42 percent as a core, the Dem's core is a bit higher at about 45-46 percent, and true independents are about 10-12 percent on average.

6th, any polling using all adults is useless, any polling using registered voters only is about a 4-5 pt Dem bias, and likely voters polling has secret sauce as voter registration is still open and until that is finished 30 days in most states before election, this can cause some shifts in results. The secret sauce for likely voter screens is also where pollster induced problems can occur because it is not scientific per se but based on an educated guess (or paid bias if a media poll) about the electorate in Nov.

Early voting and absentee ballots also throw a curve in voting estimations as October surprises have no impact of votes already cast.

So, 2020 is a winnable race for Trump but he could lose if Rep. turnout is depressed due to Covid, riots, and media disinformation. The last is in your hands to ignore, the others are better addressed by pressure on state and local politicians.

She worked for an outside firm in real estate acquisition for a while before coming to the Trump Organization in which she became the head of Hotel Acquisitions and was responsible for remodeling , updating and transitioning the acquisitions into the signature four and five star Trump Hotels. She also developed, designed and sold jewelry and a clothing line( she modeled as a teenager) that were sold via her own business portal and in upscale retailers. She served on several boards and began to fill in as a judge in the early days of the Apprentice. She was a cohost of the Miss Teen Universe pageant which her father owned at the time.

Once Trump won the presidency and selected Jared as an advisor, ethics atty's such as Jamie Gorlick advised Trump that because Jared would be an advisor and would have security clearances, and to avoid appearances that Trump businesses would be directly profiting from inside information, Ivanka should divest herself from any day to day work with the Trump organization and should close her businesses. It's ridiculous as far as I'm concerned, but that is what she did. So Trump decided to bring her on as a women's business and small business advisor, since she has experience in that area as she cannot do anything outside of the gov as long as Jared's in the adminstration.
