Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | As Trump's Job Approval Falls, He Regrets Taking the Advice of His Useless Idiot Liberal Son-in-Law Jared Kushner"The Geniuses," Steve Bannon used to call the very liberal New Yorkers Jared and Ivanka. I've heard some people saying that Trump isn't doing more to fight antifa and BLM because Jared's pushing a woke agenda and is telling Trump he's close to winning enough of the black vote to guarantee reelection. The sooner Trump awakens from this delirium, the better. But is it too late to recover? Have the fires burned too long?President Trump has told people in recent days that he regrets following some of son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner's political advice — including supporting criminal justice reform — and will stick closer to his own instincts, three people with direct knowledge of the president's thinking tell Axios. Behind the scenes: One person who spoke with the president interpreted his thinking this way: "No more of Jared's woke shit." Another said Trump has indicated that following Kushner's advice has harmed him politically. Why it matters: This could be the final straw for federal police reform legislation this year, and it could usher in even more incendiary campaign tactics between now and November. Details: The sources said the president has resolved to stick to his instincts and jettison any policies that go against them, including ambitious police reform. ... Several conservative allies of the president have reached out to him and advised him to reduce Kushner's influence over his re-election campaign. Yes, but: No adviser to the president has more power over the White House and the campaign than Kushner. And nobody we've spoken to suggested that fundamental dynamic will change. It's always possible that the views Trump expressed recently could just be a passing phase. Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

Compared to Biden's? June 19, 2020 -- Joe Biden's campaign has only begun to hire top officials in key states, leaving him without senior staff in battlegrounds like Wisconsin, Michigan and Florida, alarming some Democrats who say the leadership vacuum could hinder the party's efforts to defeat President Donald Trump in November. . . This is going to be a very strange campaign cycle with the flu and the Democrats starting a revolution in attempt to distract from their candidate with obvious dementia. Credit where credit is due: Jared coordinated the social media outreach/advertising push that helped Trump figure out what states were winnable and target groups to push messages to. Jared hired a non-political group of computer whizzes in 2016 to do this and they ran rings around Hillary. It's one of the reasons Facebook and Twitter and Reddit are deplatforming Trump early, the lefty corporate scum didn't quit realize how cozy their sales teams and Trumps folks were coordinating until after Hillary lost.
However, Jared didn't actually come up with the messages: that was all Trump and Bannon and Corey what's his name. Jared was just the techno whiz. If Jared stays in the backroom and just does logistics, it will be great. But his instincts are all left wing NY, so he's terrible as a senior adviser. The ill-advised "sentencing reform" and the pathetic "police reform" pander are Trump's decisions, his mistakes, but they won't cost him anything. His re-election continues to look likely. Combo of several things, but economic situation as we approach November, and the extremism/silliness of his opponents, on top of incumbency, will be very difficult to overcome. While I think that sidelining his son in law would be a good move, this is not only "sources say," it's "sources say" from freaking Axios.
This is one that I kinda hope is true, but I'm dismissing it. This strikes me as something that Trump supports generally want, and Axios can use it for propaganda benefit (so that when it doesn't happen, it bites off a bit more margin). I'm waiting till September before I judge he's losing or lost it.
He's waiting out the Democrats. Giving them lots of rope. There are Repubs out there verbally pointing out how wrapped up in slavery and racism for centuries and it's actually getting in the news. The numbers of Blacks who are for him is astounding. I don't believe many of them blame him for Covid or the BLM Crap. They think he can bring back the jobs again and put them back to work like it was in Jan-Feb-Mar. They're starting to see who's holding things up. And it's all Democrats. From the Houses to the State Houses and the Big cities it's Democrats in charge getting Black people killed or losing their jobs. Posted by: jakee308 at July 01, 2020 02:07 PM (jnzLe) 102

I think the election is his to lose. That said, despite the mayhem and the phony pandemic, the first debate will absolutely destroy Biden. Whatever missteps or mistakes Trump has made since February, this election is in no way a hold-your-nose affair like Romney and McStain. Per my editorial this morning, I would like him to address the nation on what the Democrat Party and their allied BLM Antifa terrorists are doing. That would seal the deal and reassure a lot of people, me included. Posted by: J.J. Sefton at July 01, 2020 02:02 PM (s2VJv) _______ He should do that, but closer to the actual election. One of the biggest drawbacks with Trump is that he didn't have a fully formed traditional conservative set of beliefs when he came to the presidency. That left him highly vulnerable. It's the reason why he's made so many disastrous personnel appointments, and why he kept listening to the counsel of Javanka in the first place.
Fortunately, however, Trump does have certain conservative instincts, and when he follows those it keeps him on track where he should be to actually represent the interests those who voted for him. Posted by: Anonymous 7 at July 01, 2020 02:11 PM (xI5Nk) 129

Trump can indeed win more black vote ... buty not by being Woke, by being law and order, and continuing to produce jobs. Trump had lowest black/Hispanic unemployment in history ... DeepState (and Jared) helped destroy that.
Would open borders win or lose more black votes? Clearly it should win black votes to close the borders ... on the jobs front it is no contest. On the crime front? idk ... MS13 has invaded some black areas I'd suppose ... and there must be some competition for the special minority status ... but they all get big money. The base for Trump is not "Woke", they are red-pilled, and that includes his black base. And many blacks recognize that BLM is a Soros agit-prop group for leftists, not a black grass roots endeavor. With 80% of blacks still identifying as Christian, there is a lot of room for Trump to gain a larger share of that vote. Not so many are black Muslim radicals. Many in "the hood" want law and order, not Biden's "you're not black if you don't vote for my pasty white ass" Deomcrat plantation of continued failure and crime lords. But indeed, Trump should court the Hispanic and Black American voter with Americanism. Do not the identity politics sellout, which is the Dem specialty. Trump can run on uniting America ... Dems have clearly chosen division. Posted by: illiniwek at July 01, 2020 02:15 PM (Cus5s) 153

Kushner is sort of right, in that Trump could increase his share of the black vote substantially. What Kushner fails to understand is that it will be because Trump DOESN'T pander to them. Blacks have Dems for that, why would they pick Trump for it? They'll vote for Trump because he comes across as a strong leader who tells it like it is.

If the economy can anywhere close to being on the truly historic boom path it was on as of February, the ceaseless and now limitless Dem "strategy" of maximizing black turnout may not work out the way they hope. Even small inroads into the bloc voting behavior, which are already likely and much more so if the prior rising economic tide resumes, could make Dem's electoral college loss worse than it already would be.

157 I can't believe how many polls claim, to this day, they "got it right" in regards to the the 2016 election.
The tell is that nearly all of them said "how could we have gotten it so wrong" immediately after the election, then a year later were talking about how they got it technically right in terms of margin of error if you look at it from the right angle and squint. Poll trolls trot that out constantly here. Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at July 01, 2020 02:15 PM (KZzsI) ========= Their final polls in the last couple weeks of the election were reasonably accurate against the full population vote. What I notice is that everyone wants Trump to "do something" *right now*.
Sit back and relax, he has the weight of the free world on his shoulders and is moving steadily day by day toward a very obvious victory. There are always mistakes. But do you see anything directly from Trump or his organization that looks *erratic*? Is he making grand pronouncementts one day and then reversing himself a week later as more facts come to light? No. That's why his enemy is telling you right now that he's "given up". Because being in control of a well-oiled machine can be easily mistaken for not being present at all. Watch the man work and you may yet get a chance to sincerely appreciate one of the greatest Americans of all time. Someone you will sorely miss after 2024 for the rest of your days. Spending it all pent up thinking the dude just magically forgot somehow how to win, or that he *doesn't* want to beat the Left's ass in so bad they smart for a generation, or that he hasn't cottoned on to what he and we are up against, when even idiots like Hugh Hewitt seem to grasp it, is a total waste of energy. Been there done that, they simply do not want to hear it. People's choices of political parties is usually ingrained and largely immovable. Posted by: notsothoreau at July 01, 2020 02:28 PM --- You do know that's their plan right? I called that in March when we supposed to start the moving process in the Spring. I put the brakes on the whole deal when this started because I knew with 100% absolute certainty that we were going to be closed down again this fall because we would have a second wave hooked up with the normal flu season and every single one would panic again. (Evidence: so far he's made monkeys out of everyone who's tried to scupper him, and made them sorry they ever brought up the subject.) He's also not shy about throwing haymakers, God knows. But he's not throwing any yet on this issue. It's not like he's a pansy, and I have no doubt that he hates all the leftist crap that is going now. So why no haymakers? People keep falling for the same fake stories. Jared also was the point person who got most of the ball rolling on moving the US embassy to Jerusalem. He was instrumental on getting the numerous PPE companies to move their production into high gear and coordinated the states needs to make sure they were receiving PPE they needed and not just rubber stamping their requests (Like Cuomo demanding 35,000 ventilators, which he didn't need). A report from the field:
Just returned from the liquor store. A mandatory stop before the 4th. Tomorrow I'll buy an obscene amount of totally not sane and safe fireworks to annoy the neighbors. Also got the truck washed. In both locations masks were not in use. As far as PDT's daughter and his son-in-law are concerned, the first thing he should do is kick them out of the West Wing. If he feels the need to keep them on the taxpayer's payroll give them an office somewhere else. Like Idaho. As I sit here, I'm wondering how insane this summer is going to be. You don't have to like Kushner, but the fact is that Kushner has been with Trump since the beginning -- long before Bannon came on board the last 3 months of the GE. For all the horrible comments I hear about taking one's car to the dealership, either Tipton Ford here in Nac is a great exception, or Mr. Empire and I are extremely fortunate.
Two problems this month. First was rough running and coolant loss that experience had taught us was likely to be a blown head gasket, requiring an engine teardown and big bucks. Nope. Leaking reservoir cap and one bad spark plug coil. They also, no charge, replaced the sticky starter relay. Second was a/c failing to cool. Given our usual luck, we figured it'd be the compressor. Nope, again -- leaking filler valves and accumulator. They added an a/c belt. So both came in for less than we'd expected even one to cost. Plus friendly service, including consideration for both of us using canes. Posted by: empire 1 at July 01, 2020 02:41 PM (xtXP4) 332

The thing he has that no GOP candidate has had for decades is a desire to win. He doesn't just want the job. He wants to win the election. He wants to fight. He wants to defeat the other side. Damage Control by team Trump. Several articles have appeared on conseravtiveand MSM media about kushner and Parscale. Trump knows he is in deep trouble with native white voters. You can't ignore your base and allow a literal Maoist terrorist group, BLM, along with another Marxist terrorist group, AntiFA, gain traction and normalize an in ypour face anti-white agenda erasing history and physically attacking your base with zero reprucusions and consequnecs. Thid groups should have been labelled terrorist organiztions by the end of 2017. This dovetails with the open violence and hostilies against white people during Obama. That's 12 years. Check the violent crime stats against white people by other races and compare them with whites against other races. People are sick of this shit physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
And then you have the infinity legal and illegal immigration since 1965 on top of what I listed above. then the 24/356 cradle to grave anti-white and anti-Christian propaganda in every institution. Trump is down close to 20% of white voters. People will stay home because they are demoralized. This is a relatively rare comment for me as I find a lot of the caterwauling about polls based on ignorance and fud (fear, uncertainty, and doubt) trolls. The following comes from working on campaigns from local to national doing numbers analysis in some, being educated in the field, and actually conducting surveys by phone and in person including those involving sensitive subjects.
First, the traditional random digit dialing polls are much less accurate than they used to be and the problems are particularly acute in state polling. The state polling issue is that cell phone area codes may have little connection to actual residence anymore and to some extent, this is true for voip phone numbers as well. The other problem is non-response based on caller id, call blocking, etc. People are deluged with spam calls, especially long term landlines etc. and simply do not answer unidentified callers or even identified ones with no relevance. Second, there is ample example of the "shy" Trump voter effect this year--he has consistently did better with the Rasmussen robo-poll than any involving in-person calls. The witch hunting atmosphere makes that worse and even respondents may be lying on primary voting choice questions to avoid possible harassment down the road. Third, probably a significant reduction in Trump support comes from disappointed followers that a) want to end shutdowns over China Flu, and b) want a much stronger response to rioters and protestors. Voting for Biden in Nov. will not get them either policy but it is easy on a poll now to express displeasure with Trump's leaving COVID and riot policies to the states and local areas. Fourth, national polling is particularly susceptible to over sampling California and New York due to their size of population. Fifth, and last, partisan alignment does not shift very much and any poll should be reweighted to Gallup measures of partisanship in the electorate at a minimum. In reality, what happens is bad news for one party or the other causes movement to claims of independence so a safe distribution is about 1/3 R, 1/3 D, and 1/3 I and a substantial number of the independent voters are actually leaners to one party or the other. Trump, unlike Bush, has consistently held on to about 40-42 percent as a core, the Dem's core is a bit higher at about 45-46 percent, and true independents are about 10-12 percent on average. 6th, any polling using all adults is useless, any polling using registered voters only is about a 4-5 pt Dem bias, and likely voters polling has secret sauce as voter registration is still open and until that is finished 30 days in most states before election, this can cause some shifts in results. The secret sauce for likely voter screens is also where pollster induced problems can occur because it is not scientific per se but based on an educated guess (or paid bias if a media poll) about the electorate in Nov. Early voting and absentee ballots also throw a curve in voting estimations as October surprises have no impact of votes already cast. So, 2020 is a winnable race for Trump but he could lose if Rep. turnout is depressed due to Covid, riots, and media disinformation. The last is in your hands to ignore, the others are better addressed by pressure on state and local politicians. That is all. Posted by: whig at July 01, 2020 03:08 PM (pv2s8) 434

Posted by: tubal Ivanka graduated with a degree in economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of PA. She worked for an outside firm in real estate acquisition for a while before coming to the Trump Organization in which she became the head of Hotel Acquisitions and was responsible for remodeling , updating and transitioning the acquisitions into the signature four and five star Trump Hotels. She also developed, designed and sold jewelry and a clothing line( she modeled as a teenager) that were sold via her own business portal and in upscale retailers. She served on several boards and began to fill in as a judge in the early days of the Apprentice. She was a cohost of the Miss Teen Universe pageant which her father owned at the time. Once Trump won the presidency and selected Jared as an advisor, ethics atty's such as Jamie Gorlick advised Trump that because Jared would be an advisor and would have security clearances, and to avoid appearances that Trump businesses would be directly profiting from inside information, Ivanka should divest herself from any day to day work with the Trump organization and should close her businesses. It's ridiculous as far as I'm concerned, but that is what she did. So Trump decided to bring her on as a women's business and small business advisor, since she has experience in that area as she cannot do anything outside of the gov as long as Jared's in the adminstration. And Trump could instead have put forward his own chosen panel of "World-Renowned Experts in Viral Diseases" who would explain exactly why they disagreed with Fauci and the NIH about mitigation strategies.
Even Dr. Birx (Fauci's protege) finally got to the point where she refused to believe in any of the corrupted data coming from the NIH and said so publicly. She finally began to wise up--but at that point it was too late to save the economy. Posted by: Anonymous 7 at July 01, 2020 03:18 PM (xI5Nk) 444
Same for politicians and I could get behind this.

I certainly won't cry if Kushner is jettisoned but I have never believed he has had the influence that some claim.

I would say this: if Biden wins its because folks
are sick of all the drama manufactured by the left to vilify Trump. And being stupid as most folks are they think electing a D would make it all go away. Hillary promised. Civility will not return until there is a dem in the WH. Posted by: Cat Ass Trophy at July 01, 2020 02:48 PM (dNzKv) Nobody is that stupid. Before I saw this post, I contacted the President via the White House site this morning to strongly urge him to fire the wrecker Kushner immediately. and to hire, for example, General Flynn. Took me 5 minutes. I pray that he does.

Come on, Ace.
You believe Axios' concern trolling? Jared doesn't run Trump's policies. Jared collects data and uses it brilliantly to pick locations for rallies and GOTV efforts. But Trump probably is on the verge of winning enough of the black vote to destroy the Democrat Party. That's not because of Jared. It's because black people have eyes and brains. It seems when you are too stupid to operate a cordless electric drill, and don't even know the difference between clockwise and counter-clockwise, you tend to fall for a lot of the stupid shit that known liars, liberals and leftists keep putting out there. Should know better by now, but I guess not. Sad, and embarrassing.

I told the libertarian pinheads at Instapundit, the prison reform bill was left wing drivel and won't get Trump even 1% of the black vote. They keep insisting people who mindlessly vote Democrat are suddenly going to start thinking about who they vote for.
The Kushners are Trump's Achilles heel. That's been clear, well that has always been clear. Posted by: BurkeanMama at July 01, 2020 06:12 PM (CYk5a) 453
It WAS wise for President Trump to give the democrats enough rope to hang themselves, and CHOP, they did ! His error is letting it go further than necessary. Not a biggie to recover from, but the President must show he deals from a strong hand now !
