Some of this court nonsense is still a mystery to me, but I still remember when Roberts was nominated, the "experts" were saying he's a big precedent guy. As in it was his most important guiding principle.
Other than Obamacare, I think we've seen that play out.

We should be clear - it is the Reformed Jewish Movement, dominant in America, which has abandoned it's traditional faith completely and now does little more than provide financial backing for the far left. In 1856, the Supreme Court ruled in Dred Scott that slavery is the law of the land compelled by the Constitution. It is not compelled by the Constitution. Even in the free territories, slavery is the law of the land. In 1896 the Supreme Court decided in Plessy vs. Ferguson that separate but equal is equal. That's not what the equal-protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment says!
And in 1944, the Supreme Court - by the way, I don't give FDR and Earl Warren a pass on this. The Supreme Court upheld in a very short opinion the internment of American citizens mostly Japanese-Americans, the removal from their homes on the Pacific Coast, moving them to the interior and they upheld that.
So we have slavery, segregation, the internment of American citizens. The Supreme Court was on the wrong side of all those.

The one fact that simultaneously comforts me and worries me even more is that when I look around the world, every place else is in even worse shape than we are, in every way. And I remember there've been a couple previous periods in history - the 12th century BC, the 6th Century AD - where *every* civilization collapsed, and things went dark all over for a couple centuries. I did EMP testing in my last job in the Navy. Got lots of stories. Set a secret record on one trial as the Test Director. Wrote magazine articles in papers so obscure and secret they do not come up in a Google search.

Tom its interesting to look at the fall of Rome and how it ushered in the dark ages. If America falls, I would expect the same thing. And it'll take centuries of historians studying the evidence to put the pieces back together on the how- and they still will miss probably 70% of the reasons. But on the whole, I concur that enemy use of a EMP attack is a long shot- there are a ton of variables that go into getting the effects described in One Second After- but they are most certainly possible. Of course, that would incur the wrath of the US in the form of a nuclear counterstrike- so it really is a one shot deal.
It is an asymmetrical attack- one that we would not disregard lightly- especially if you have a regime that doesn't care/has nothing to lose/thinks it is ushering in the next Mahdi.

The charges that Mayor Jenny leveled today against dedicated Socialist Kashama Sawant are all 3 weeks old.
But two days ago Sawant, being pissed at Mayor Jenny, mainly because Mayor Jenny is a local elite and not a Communist dedicating to destroying Seattle, Sawant led a bunch of crazies to Jenny's home, and protested outside. They hollered and spray painted the area as they yelled and chanted.

Now we know where Half-Whitmer is getting her BS advice. Apparently a state-wide mask requirement anywhere food is sold -- grocery, restaurant, etc -- went into effect 2 weeks ago and extends through July 15th.
"I'm a huge believer in universal masking," Dr. Joel Fishbain, an infectious specialist for Beaumont Health in metro Detroit, told MLive. "I know there's a lot of debate. I know there's lots of resistance.
"But the idea of the mask should be just changed to being a good steward of the human race," he said. "I don't think it should be that big of a deal."

However, there is no penalty for violating the mask policy.
So you have to wear one, but, if you don't, there's no penalty.
And, you're exempt if you cannot medically tolerate a face covering.
So there you go. All one has to do in Michigan is state that you cannot medically tolerate a mask and there is nothing they can do.
Or you can tell them to LOLGF and they still can't do anything, because there is no penalty for violating the policy.

Needs to be in orbit to achieve the effects that wipe out electronics on the scale of something out of One Second After. But, as i said, above, depends on a LOT of variables. Low or high orbit, yield... some effects will produce effects on complex circuits...others not so much.
Atmospheric nuke tests used to be common place and will produce emp type effects, but not on the scale as a space based detonation. Check out the Starfish Prime experiments for some interesting reading.
