The Morning Rant

Dumb tweet from yesterday, commenting on an incident that was all over social media. Here's why the dumbness rocked the kohnometer:

1. The guy is not carrying an automatic weapon.
2. He is self-employed.
3. He had the right to defend his property because
   a. it was a gated community and therefore the street was private property
   b. mobs are unpredictable
   c. they were shouting threats at him

So in a sentence consisting of 12 words, Emm Ess Romano managed to make 3 errors which basically invalidated her tweet. 1 error for every 4 words. That's quite an achievement.

And this is ironic, because according to her bio, she's a journalist. So you'd think she'd be familiar with, you know, research, and fact-checking, and things of that nature.

Doesn't appear to be the case with Emm Ess Romano

I do not understand why, in any situation, the most aggressively ignorant, ill-informed and misinformed demographic always has to be journalists.

5/26 - Heisenberg’s Uncertain Principal asks for prayers for his daughter and her husband, who had twins in April, and with the stress of no sleep, lockdowns, and job worries, it’s killing their relationship. He asks for prayers to help them get through.
5/26 - Aelfheld requests prayers for a co-worker whose house was destroyed by a tornado in Bowie, TX on 5/22/20. The co-worker and his wife came through the storm safely, but the house sustained significant damage.
6/3 - Clyde asks for prayers for his younger brother, who is a Chicago police officer on the south side of Chicago. Please pray for him, as well as all police officers, during this time of chaos to help them help keep the people of their cities safe as well as remain safe themselves.
6/3 - thathalfrican asks for prayers for his wife, who just had a miscarriage.
6/4 - PH requests for prayers for his mother and father. His mother went into a nursing home just before the Covid lockdown started, and the isolation she has endured has taken a terrible toll. They saw her last weekend through a “window visit” and she is just a shell of what she was. Now his dad is facing learning what a new normal for him will be without her.

5/16- The Village Idiot’s Apprentice asks for prayers for Anna, from Ohio, as well as the other residents and staff of her Assisted Living home. She is 99 years old, and just tested positive for Covid-19, as well as many of the staff and residents of the facility. Patient #1 has already passed.
5/23 Update: Anna has taken a turn for the worse. He asks for prayers for her recovery, but if God has chosen to call her home, may her passage be peaceful and pain free.
6/10 Update: Anna was called Home to join her late husband, peacefully, with none of the typical respiratory ravages of the disease. She simply went to sleep.
5/16 - The Village Idiot’s Apprentice also asks for prayers for his Uncle Bill, who was hospitalized in Pennsylvania with possible a-fib.
5/23 Update: Bill is stable and at home now.
6/10 Update: Bill is doing well, after they shocked his heart into obedience.
5/19 - M needs prayers for his grandniece, Chloe, who was born with bad kidneys. She’s a year old now, her kidneys have been removed, and she is on daily dialysis and a feeding tube, to try and get her ready for transplant surgery. Please pray for health for her and strength for her parents. There have been a number of scares with fevers and seizures.
5/19 - CFO Mom has a request for prayers for her husband. He was unwell for a couple of weeks, and has been hospitalized since going to the ER Sunday evening. He has cellulitis, which may have gone to sepsis. He is on IV antibiotics, and now they have discovered he has an irregular heartbeat which is causing other risks and problems. He is also on a heparin drop to prevent blood clots. It’s very hard to not be able to visit and be with him to hear what the doctors have to say, or see and hear what is going on.
5/23 - The Village Idiot’s Apprentice asks for prayers for two more relatives diagnosed with Covid: one of whom is young and otherwise healthy, and another of whom is 89 and lives in a LT care facility.
5/26 - Ibguy would like to add his friend Dana B-S to the prayer list. She has immune system issues, and now has been diagnosed with Covid.
6/4 - PC requests prayers for a friend named Joanie who just had surgery for a serious rare ailment.
6/24 - Asheville Robert needs prayers for healing; he has been diagnosed with a tumor in his colon.
6/24 - NaughtyPine requests prayers for her sister-in-law, who had a stroke.

Job Issues:
In addition to the people who have been on the prayer list for some time, please add Brother Cavil who needs a better paying job that meets his skill set. He also needs “rough places made smooth”.

Monday's Who Dis: You most likely recognizeLynn Collins and Taylor Kitsch from 2012's disappointing adaption of John Carter and maybe they should do z reboot and this time, do it right. But these two were also in the Marvel spin-off X-Men Origins: Wolverine . Also, I like movies where the old guys have to come in and save the day, which is why Battleship, another one of Taylor's films, is a very underrated and underappreciated movie. Most critics booed it, but for what it was, a science fiction action movie, it delivered the goods. Fight me.

And why would she "know better?" Journalists are on the side of the mob. They are leftist agitators and propagandists. "Activists" is what I think they call themselves. This isn't unusual. It isn't dangerous. It isn't unexpected. It isn't surprising.

What would be surprising? If a woman with her resume came out in *defense* of people defending their property against the leftist mob. That would be surprising.

It's like Lady Gaga's meat dress she wore to some awards show. Everyone was talking about how "shocking" it was. But she's a pop star. *Nothing* would be shocking unless she dressed in something demure and professional. Your stock broker wearing a meat dress would be shocking, but not a pop star.

Interesting interview snippet.

There are some libertarians who swear Sanger was never quite the monster conservatives portray her as, and I think I see how this is a subject of debate.

She is all about the macro stuff. Society's sins.

And then she can't even bring herself to address the concept of sin on a micro level.

So I have no doubt there are words out there, of her saying nice things about black people, individuals. But yeah, she wanted them eugenicized. Big time.

Anybody that votes for a leftist democrat is literally insane, or has a death wish. Now republicans may be complicit in some cases, or tacitly approve of this, at best too many have a detached disinterest (which is why America is in the pickle in the first place.)

What can't go on, won't, but it is really bizarre in the interim.

St Louis is unique, in that the city does not belong to the county, and vice versa. And the geographical boundaries of the city are quite small.

So compared to other "cities," it's nothing, but if you look at the metro area, and compare it to other metro areas in the country, both in population and distribution of WHERE people live, it looks like a lot of other cities that have much larger city populations.

It still hovers around top 20 in terms of metro size.

So yeah, it's not a BIG city, but it's also not as small as those population numbers make it look.

I'm not going to try to read her mind, and I don't have any interest in reading her words. She's dead. I don't care.

However, there are MANY people who make careers of doing just what she is talking about, that is, addressing macro issues.

Do they think about the consequences on individuals? A lot of them don't. Look at what is transpiring in our cities right now. Mayors and governors who can't or won't address what's happening ON the street, the real consequences of their decisions.

The way the wife waved it about, even her husband had reason to worry. But maybe it is good for the mob to think the armed person is just "crazy" enough to use their weapon on the mob.

I didn't know about the gated community, but the house itself seemed to have a gate on their entrance that was opened and entered ... imo once the mob enters and starts aggressive chants, especially chants of "kill the rich" ... it is reasonable to hold lethal force, and if they don't heed warnings, to use lethal force.

But if mayors keep trying to arrest those that defend themselves and don't accept a beating/death by mob ... then more mobs will be encouraged. This is a horrifyingly true statement. Not that it will come down to "x" districts in swing states. That seems to be a norm anymore, since we've lost ground on entire states like VA and CO. What's truly horrifying, because it's a very real possibility, is the fraud that will happen. This time, in particular. Might have to order them again because it's been at least ten years since I read them. They are that good.

No greater example than the "free trade" think tanks. Their theoretical position made some degree of sense about how asymmetrical/non-reciprocal free trade would be a net overall benefit, but it turns out they had some entirely false premises. They thought that, since only open societies ever became truly rich, that any truly rich society would become open - that is, the asymmetries would fade and essentially that China would become the US.

They were wrong. The basic thesis of "they get rich before we get dead" was wrong. This was becoming clear by the turn of the century, and was entirely obvious by 2010 or so.

Nevertheless, they persist. Some because they *want* that outcome of global totalitarianism, some because they won't let go of the theories that gave them modest fame and comfort. It works in the macro theoretical model, after all. We just need to stick with it.

My daughter was very into horses when she was younger. We even had one. She had an instructor that was very experience. Older woman; been around horses all her life.

At a horse show one time, the instructor was passing by a horse being led in the opposite direction. As she always did, she put her hand on the horse up by his shoulder and ran it down the length of his body to let it know she was there. At the exact moment she was passing the 'end' of the horse, a bee or something stung the horse. Kicked her HARD in the side of the face. Had to have plastic surgery.

Had an excellent surgeon. 3 weeks later you could barely tell. But yeah it can certainly mess up your day!

I'm hoping they can get an impeachment going on him and also get the Health Sec. kicked out for making the LTC's do like Cuomo did in NY and forced them to take covid infected patients back into the facility thus murdering 4-5000 or so older folks who had no choice or even knew what was going on.

That any of those Governors are still in office is a mark against the people of those states and their representatives.

As I just mentioned - I don't know if it's global but one of the photos of them having an AR leveled at them was pulled off of twatter. Just doesn't fit the narrative.

If you look at the satellite of their home, they're right on the main drag and that gate at the front corner of their lot. the "sidewalk" the creeps were on was actually a walkway cutting their front lawn in half. They could have walked on the street. It was obvious they were going after the first mansion they saw. That couple probably helped out their neighbors, keeping the "protestors" focused on getting to the mayor's house instead.

This is an aspect of old time life people do not consider. Overall, horse poo isn't terrible smelling but you would get pretty tired of it being all over, were it not for the coal smoke and the rest of the crap in the air.

But think about it. Look around at how many places in your town, let alone big cities, are dedicated to parking. Thats how many stables and horse-related businesses were in town back then. Stables EVERYWHERE. Hitching posts yes, but also more long-term "parking" for your horse, and tack and bridle shops, kids holding your horse's reins, cleanup as mentioned, etc.

This is where a lot of old-time shows and movies miss the ball, how horse-centric things were back then, like they are car-centric now.

They were sitting down to dinner, alone, in their home (in the old days, they would have been sitting down to a dinner prepared by a cook and there would have been other servants around. They undoubtedly do have hired help, but not the 24/7 fleet of people that rich people once had around them all the time).

Even if I were extremely rich, I don't know that I would take the trouble to get all dolled up for a meal at home with my husband. If they had only known that in a few minutes, they would become famous and pictures of them would be seen and judged by millions around the globe, they might have given more thought to what they wore. But they didn't know that, did they?

Evan Sayet explained why a lot of people do this stuff. Its not just peer pressure, its part of having a job. Actors come out and say retarded leftist stuff every so often not out of personal compulsion, but that's how you get work in the business. If they don't do it, they are presumed evil.

If they "make a bold and courageous stand" on something like plastic in the oceans or not beating your wife, that gives them cred and notice for jobs.

But for guys like the Stones, those old acts came up being ripped off by record companies to an outrageous degree. I think they are very zealous about ownership and getting paid.
