Personally, I favor declaring any area declaring itself autonomous to be, in fact, an autonomous nation outside the US.

That would mean we no longer have to send it money, and that we can establish border checkpoints and walls around it.

And when they're all almost dead in a couple of years, maybe we can send in clean up crews to see if the area can be refurbished to be habitable by actual civilized humans once again, or if it should just be allowed to go back to nature.

On a related note, Kyle Sheideler has some information about the antifa/BLM campaign to replace the professional civil-service police with their own vigilante squads and Morality Police.

Elite media representatives hurried to explain that "Abolish the police" actually meant "defund" and "reform" the police. Never mind that police abolitionists explicitly reject notions of reform. As one Chicago Police and Prison Abolitionist declaration noted:

Yes, they mean that private "paramilitary" police are to be outlawed same as professional civil-service police.

The only police will be Warlords like Raz and their crew of Morality Law Enforcers. And, of course, straight up bandits and rape-gangs.

But in the US, we haven't always had police. Some think tank (Cato?) wrote a white paper on the history of US policing. I read it several years ago. Can't remember too many details.

When I was in the Army we did not have this stuff. I was in a low priority unit so we had some of the last Vietnam era soft flak vests. The new vests being issued were Kevlar and stiffer, but no plates. Not long after that they were issuing ISAPI to Rangers and the like.

It is heavy. Lord, soldiers wear this stuff on patrol? Wow.

He had his 'discussion' with the 2nd level manager today and handed him a pre written statement summarizing 'their discussion'.

He basically put the company on notice that he planned to sue them into insolvency for age and military veteran discrimination unless they stopped spouting this 'social listening', 'social injustice', and 'perceived racial victimization '.

A leftover from the formation of WV. I think there is something in their Constitution that allows it. They passed a non-binding resolution inviting counties in VA to change their address.

It was kind of a poke in the eye from the Republican controlled WV legislature to the newly Democrat controlled VA legislature.

IQ tests usually emphasize pattern recognition, not regurgitating specific learning. Questions I've seen run to complete the following sequence (e.g., a triangle, a square, a pentagon, then a choice of various shapes including a hexagon, that sort of thing).

Raven's matrices, for example, is an IQ test that has ONLY such questions, and can be administered to illiterates.

IQ testing tets your ability to reason and think, not your memorized repository of knowledge.

They can give IQ tests to toddlers and five-year-olds. They can give IQ tests to tribespeople from some mountain village who don't have a written alphabet or education system. IQ is not a test of learned facts.

Not exactly. The story is this: My father wanted to become a social worker helping retarded kids, and part of his job would have been to administer IQ tests to determine who was retarded. But he was required to have 100 hours of practice before he could get his social work license. He was supposed to practice on random people -- different people each time. But instead he was lazy so he just practices giving the test to me and my sister over and over and over and over and over for months and months. Eventually I could ace it in a matter of minutes.

So we aren't allowed to see them and he isn't allowed to visit her. Bad news the other day, he called and said she on a phone call accused him of cheating on her w/ "a blonde woman". It's either brain damage from the strokes or dementia, which may have been appearing over the last few yrs.
He's also upset by the news too. Jules said the same thing, turn it off if it bothers you.
