6 Good Morning Morons today is Sunday, May 24, 2020. On this day in 1941 the German Battleship Bismarck sank then-pride of the Royal Navy, HMS Hood, killing all but three crewmen. A tragedy for the Brits but it made a good movie and a song by Johnny Horton.

There is nothing out there today but over-hyped corona crap.

I'm married.

So... no.

Although from the drunken deck dancing it appears that it worked on my neighbor's wife. Lucky guy.

Its so bizarre because normally a get-together like this wouldn't be noteworthy at all. It would just be another saturday night. But now? Now it feels like its a stab at authorities.

The funny part is my wife is a physician who is on the state's largest healthcare system's Corona on-call hotline, and my neighbor is a surgeon for that same system who is likely going to be head of general surgery for the whole system soon.

And we're just living our lives and its f'ing beautiful.

65 MHK, it's not a website, but it's kind of like the old A and P: "We're just around the corner from wherever you are!"

That's National Pawn. They're a nationwide chain and they'll search their other stores for you if you want. A good friend who is a master shopper who engages in depth in several hi-tech hobbies and a photography business swears by them. Apparently, too, at the moment they're anxious to move inventory.

A nice thing, of course, is that you get to hands-on the goods. I picked up a nearly new Dell laptop some months ago that I use as a music player for $150. It's not high-powered, but has more than enough everything for its purpose, and I've had no problems.

Slickdeals. The frontpage/landing page is mostly ads these days, though. Use the search bar for laptops or notebooks (or the specific brand and model you're interested in) or visit the "hot deals" under the "forum" link and scroll down through the posts.

140 There was a lady doctor on FOX earlier being interviewed by Jedediah Bila who wanted to add something quickly at the end. Naturally, Jedediah spoke over her so it was difficult to hear, but she said something about doctors and other healthcare workers using (something something) iodine in their noses to prevent the spread of the virus with great success.

My guess is that she was talking about povidone iodine, aka Betadine. A quick check on Bing reveals that indeed this is something that is used as a pre-op prep for the skin and mucous membranes.

I'm not saying anyone should be going out and painting their nostrils with Betadine, but it certainly is something worth looking into.

153 @106

Well they do have a lock on the Black vote.

Most Black's were recaptured by the Democrat party in the 30's because of the new deal, also most lived in cities which were completely controlled by the Democrats,

How are they going to vote for a Republican if their are no Republicans to vote for?

The recapturing was complete shortly after the passage of the '64 Civil Rights act, which only passed because of Republican support.

In fact most of the civil rights blacks enjoy were delivered by Republican hands.

For whatever reason the GOP does not care to correct the record and has instead completely taken on the sins of the Democrat party and has allowed themselves to be slandered for the last 60 years.

Black women seem to have particular contempt for the GOP and they show it in their voting patterns, Ron DeSantis victory with 18 pct of the black female vote is a complete outlier and should be studied by the GOP.

So bottom line, is the only way to gain the votes of a large majority of the black vote is to give them something of value, like any other voting block.

What that is I have no idea.

Masks are completely useless to stop viral spread in a general population, study that used to exist on the CDC website before it was memory holed stated that rather clearly.

If masks were effective, than Asian countries and Asians in general would have lower incidences of viral infections, they don't

Which is why Fuachi originally said masks were ineffective.

This is a scam at every level of analysis.

My two cents: I think that black women saw through Gillum's lies in using his wife as a beard. It's one thing for the DNC to expect black women to vote for an openly gay black candidate. It's another thing for the gay black candidate to be using a black woman for cover to pass himself as a hetero guy and try to fool the black women citizen block. Yeah, I was hoping for a quick turn around but that doesn't seem to seem the exact case.

People are still iffy about coming in.

The PPP checks were a nice help, but -

My guess is that they're going to have to cover Fauci's Folly,

and the recovery from it more like it was an organic bear market, which means it'll take anywhere from 2-3 to higher times the length of the shutdown for the recovery to occur.

I don't know that we, as a nation, have the money to issue PPP checks for that period of time.

Still my guess is that's what we're going to have to do.

The gov't pulled the rug out from everyone, so they owe.

Right now, Our Betters in the gov't are talking cheap loans, however if you can do math, even cheap loans are a burden when there's no money coming in.

Trump better figure out a way to totally take the chains off the economy with massive deregulation, etc, etc.

if we want a functioning economy toot sweet.

Barky Obama came out and gave a speech a couple weeks after 9/11, in which he said we shouldn't blame the terrorists, because after all they're just uneducated folks who are justifiably frustrated and angry that they don't have jobs and money. He basically implied that 9/11 was our own fault, because we'd failed to recognize the legitimate complaints of foreign muzzies.

And this was the same boob who was elected president 7 years later.

And even after it was revealed that the 9/11 terrorists were almost all well-educated Saudis with abundant funds, Barky never acknowledged his error, and to this day will not admit that the supremacist ideology of islam, and not poverty or lack of education, is what motivates muslim terrorists. In fact, even as president, Obama continued to give speeches insisting that islamic terrorism is caused by poverty and lack of education -- despite the mountain of evidence to the contrary.

295 Likely China saw accidental virus release infect it's own population. Now essentially certain though that China then decided to infect the rest of the world, so their own economy wasn't solely impacted (shut down internal travel, left int'l travel open; secretly bought up PPP around the world and persuaded WHO to keep news quiet etc).

Conscious decision to destroy American economy and kill people. This is the textbook CCP, this is how they work.

I know how PDJT has reacted to these facts. What do our very conflicted other leaders say about this? What will we say or do differently as regards China now that they attacked us so viciously?

The freakout of people over Americans doing things Americans do in summertime weather. How DARE they!

Here is Twitter's freakout headline:

Video of packed Ozark lake party emerges amid the COVID-19 pandemic

Images and video of Memorial Day weekend celebrations at the Lake of the Ozarks are leaving many stunned. Missouri authorities do permit restaurants and businesses to open, "provided that the limitations on social distancing and other precautionary public health measures" are properly adhered to. The state has over 11,700 confirmed COVID-19 cases and has recorded 676 deaths.

Video via at_scottpasmoretv

They're "stunned"!

Missouri population: 6,169,270
Missouri COVID-19 cases: 11,558 (0.2%)
Missouri COVID-19 deaths: 671 (0.01%)
CFR: 5.8%

Just ran the demographic CFR numbers for their state:

0 to 19 --- 0 / 441 = 0.0%
20 to 29 --- 1 / 1579 = 0.1%
30 to 39 --- 4 / 1609 = 0.2%
40 to 49 --- 13 / 1755 = 0.7%
50 to 59 --- 43 / 2035 = 2.1%
60 to 69 --- 113 / 1809 = 6.2%
70 to 79 --- 178 / 1144 = 15.6%
80+ --- 324 / 1371 = 23.6%

So if you're between the ages of 0 and 69 years old, your survival rate is 94% or higher.

If you're between the ages of 0 and 49, it's 99% or higher.

But, ZOMG!, we're all gonna die!
