Ron DeSantis Debunks the Leftwing Propaganda Organization's Latest Conspiracy Theory, That Even Though Florida Seems Safe, That's Only Because It's Hiding So Many Bodies It's Not Funny

The clickbait conspiracy theory sites called "the media" must not be getting enough clicks, because they're pushing a new conspiracy theory.

Before getting to that, enjoy Rich Lowry's interview with DeSantis, who is "amused" that the media continues swearing that Florida is a Death Zone while completely ignoring the actual Death Zone their favorite nipple-clamped leftwing governor has created.

A couple of months ago, the media, almost as one, decided that Governor Ron DeSantis was a public menace who was going to get Floridians killed with his lax response to the coronavirus crisis.

In an interview with National Review, DeSantis says he was surprised at "how knee-jerk" the hostile coverage was, but he "also knew that none of these people knew anything about Florida at all, so I didn't care what they were saying."

The conventional wisdom has begun to change about Florida, as the disaster so widely predicted hasn’t materialized. It's worth delving into the state's response -- as described by DeSantis and a couple of members of his team -- because it is the opposite of the media narrative of a Trump-friendly governor disregarding the facts to pursue a reckless agenda. DeSantis and his team have followed the science closely from the beginning, which is why they forged a nuanced approach, but one that focused like a laser on the most vulnerable population, those in nursing homes.

An irony of the national coverage of the coronavirus crisis is that at the same time DeSantis was being made into a villain, New York governor Andrew Cuomo was being elevated as a hero, even though the DeSantis approach to nursing homes was obviously superior to that of Cuomo. Florida went out of its way to get COVID-19-positive people out of nursing homes, while New York went out of its way to get them in, a policy now widely acknowledged to have been a debacle.

The media didn't exactly have their eyes on the ball. "The day that the media had their first big freakout about Florida was March 15th," DeSantis recalls, "which was, there were people on Clearwater Beach, and it was this big deal. That same day is when we signed the executive order to, one, ban visitation in the nursing homes, and two, ban the reintroduction of a COVID-positive patient back into a nursing home."

DeSantis is bemused by the obsession with Florida's beaches. When they opened in Jacksonville, it was a big national story, usually relayed with a dire tone. "Jacksonville has almost no COVID activity outside of a nursing-home context," he says. "Their hospitalizations are down, ICU down since the beaches opened a month ago. And yet, nobody talks about it. It's just like, 'Okay, we just move on to the next target.'"

I think the word he actually wanted was "amused." Everyone seems to think that bemused means amused, jus a little more archly, but in fact it means "confused."

Anyway.

The media hasn't completely "moved on the next target." The media contiues its bizarre and remorseless campaign to fight coronavirus in all the places it's not. Like Georgia and Florida.

Meanwhile, it studiously covers up the fact that the states with high coronavirus infection and death rates all forced nursing homes to accept infected people, who then infected thousands of at-risk elderly people; New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Fascist Tranny Karl "Gretchen" Whitmer's Michigan all made the disgusting and unnecessary decision to reduce the infection rates among hospital care-givers by consigning tens of thousands of elderly people to death by packing them in with infected people.

DeSantis signed an order that nursing homes must not take back people infected with coronavirus (until cured, of course).

New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan all decreed that nursing homes must take in infected people, to infect the entire home.

They knew they were murdering people.

They put them on the cattle cars anyway.

This is basically state-directed murder. They decided that it would be better to kill these people in nursing homes than to risk doctors and nurses at regular hospitals getting ill.

To spare doctors and nurses, they decided to literally Kill Grandma.

That is a repulsive decision -- all the more repulsive given that the threat of coronavirus was wildly overblown, and the main reason for high rates of infection and death is due precisely to four liberal governor's Nazi-like euthanasia of the elderly, making that disgusting decision to euthanize based on their precious models' garbage outputs.

They didn't even need to murder these people to spare their hospital workers.

So: Obviously, the media looks for the story not where it actually is -- in the abbatoirs for the elderly designed and run by governors Cuomo, Murphy, Wolf, and Whitmer -- but where it is not, insisting on pretending that a Jacksonville beach with a scattered lot of young, fit people is more of a danger zone for covid than the death camps their liberal governors made.

Part of the propaganda organizations' efforts here have been promoting leftwing conspiracy theories that although Florida's official numbers look good, in fact, Florida is seeing huge numbers of deaths that they're just "disappearing," somehow.

And the lynchpin for this conspiracy theory is the claim of a woman with a geography degree who claims she's a "scientist," and who has a troubled history of arrests for trespassing, assault, and sexually cyberstalking an ex.

She was fired for insubordination, for insisting on entering her own idea of what Florida's numbers should be rather than what actual scientits, and her actual superiors, told her the verified numbers were, but the media has decided to take this cyberstalker's claims of being a heroic scientist fired for Telling The Truth The Rethuglikkkans Want Covered Up as their narrative.

Rebekkah Jones is not a "scientist" as she and her media promoters claim. She has a degree in geography and... journalism, because of course.

She is not the "chief architect" of Florida's covid website. She seems like she's more of a data entry person who has learned on the job how to build simple websites by taking the pre-made modules from a website-building service.

She was not fired for refusing to "alter the numbers" but for altering the numbers herself. She is a fucking data entry cog. She is supposed to input the numbers that actual scientists have collected and confirmed.

Instead, she insisted on enterring her own numbers.

And she's a criminal.

Jones also has an extensive criminal history in Leon County, where she’s been arrested and charged with three felonies, including one for robbery, and a handful of misdemeanor cases including "sexual cyberstalking," a case where she created a website and used it to sexually harass her ex-boyfriend. The website has been taken down, but images from the case exist in Leon County court records.

Most of the charges filed against her came after she was hired by the Department of Health, so they would not have turned up in any background check.

The bottom line: Rebekah Jones was fired for performance issues, not for "refusing to manipulate data." And her extensive criminal history, which predates her employment in Florida, lends credence to the DeSantis administration that she was just a troublesome employee who is now disgruntled and trying to get media attention about her firing. The easiest way to get media attention right now is to claim a Republican elected official is involved in a conspiracy to cover up COVID-19 data detrimental to reopening the state economy.

The media outlets listed above will not issue retractions. They will double down on the idea that DeSantis’s administration is withholding / manipulating / deleting / altering data. That, too is totally false. But mark these words, the embarrassment of touting Rebekah Jones as their coronavirus martyr will quickly fade into the mainstream media memory hole.

That's the background for the below video clips, in which DeSantis tells the Conspiracy Theory Propaganda Media to fuck right the hell off.

8 Letting New York liberal elites control the national agenda always led to exterminating the native population in favor of parasitic invaders. It's just now becoming obvious and acute in its consequences.

NY and NJ are well above 100% with NYC at 236% of expected.

I have no idea how the media thinks ALL the florida numbers are supposed to be manipulated by a single person. That's full on tinfoil hat territory.

That 3rd video of Guvnor Ron is actually an audition tape for 2024.

I liked him when he was in the national news a lot as a US Rep, and it seems he continues to grow, season, and improve. As are others.

Compare to the top half dozen names of Democrats under 60 years old.

One of the two parties has a future. The other is just a sellout to Globalism. No young leaders with roots to America wants any part of that.

187 Just think for a moment that everything they told us about Trump was true--he actually was in league with Putin.

How many of us would turn on a dime? In time, sure.
Many of us have written off Romney, McCain and even W. Bush all of whom most of us voted for and defended from the onslaught of liberal lies and media attacks.

Now put yourself in the place of a True Believer from the other side
They WORSHIPED Obama--and congratulated themselves for voting for a BLACK GUY. They believed everything Obama's minions said about Trump--and they hung on to every word Maddow and others said for FOUR years. They laughed at every unfunny Trump joke told by Colbert, Kimmel and SNL and it was all reinforced by the social media they followed.

Do we really think they are going to turn on a dime and believe all the evidence that Obama spied on Trump and that Trump was right along?
NEVER.

This is why it's going to get worse before it gets better.

190 ...New York governor Andrew Cuomo was being elevated as a hero, even though the DeSantis approach to nursing homes was obviously superior to that of Cuomo.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think we have evidence now that 4 different Democrat Governors ordered COVID-19 patients into nursing homes.

And this was done *after* we already had information from Seattle, Washington and Italy showing that people in nursing homes were the most vulnerable.

So, where is the media with the obvious question to each of these Democrat Governors:

"Knowing the data from Italy and Seattle, WA about the risks for people in nursing homes, why did you ignore that data and send COVID-19 people to die in nursing homes?"

Follow-up question:

--- "Were you all this stupid or were you getting this direction from the national Democrat Party?"

Also, was it the Pennsylvania Health Director who moved one of her parents out of a nursing home, even while sending COVID-19 patients to nursing homes?

Follow-up questions:

--- "Did you move your parent out of the nursing home, because you felt it was not safe?"
--- "If you felt it was not safe, why were you sending COVID-19 patients to nursing homes? Were you intentionally sending them there to die?"
--- "If you felt they were safe, then why not keep your parent in the nursing home, where they were safe?"

different Democrat Governors ordered COVID-19 patients into nursing
homes.

And this was done *after* we already had information from Seattle,
Washington and Italy showing that people in nursing homes were the most
vulnerable.

---

You're being too generous, Clyde. The vulnerability of the elderly was *the sole purpose* of the lockdown. Fauci and Birx cut TV spots to explain that to everyone, and stated it repeatedly at their press conferences. That was why the media was screaming at the 'selfishness' of the Spring Breakers when this began.

And yet, NY, NJ, MI, CA, PA, and IL all had a policy, displayed proudly on their state covid websites, to require nursing homes to accept "clinicallt stable" but covid positive patients.

From the outset, counties had some flexibility, which actually grew. Aside from some limited specific cases, Sacramento didn't "police" its guidance very aggressively. Counties started openly defying it with no consequences even before the big relaxation came (transition to the utterly baseless, but WH-endorsed, phased re-opening nonsense).

Oddest of all, at the very start, when asked a question about gun stores, Newsom answered with words that could have come from the governor of OK or WY, about people having 2A rights etc. That's never been walked back or explained - or even much noted, amidst the hysteria.

321 Problem wasn't setting up some surge medical capacity in NYC and a few other places. Precautionary.

Problem was - and IS - the national leadership, the WH and its technical advisors, not adapting to available information and experience as time went on. To this day.

Whole question of what exactly WH could do about state-level restrictions is separate. But the technical, science debacle at the CDC etc since late April - as far as we know without any attempts to fix or even get a Team B view by the WH - that's on the administration.

So people said f-that to Pope's meaning but they did think his word worked pretty well with a better meaning.

I think this is retconning - that's not why

they needed death numbers to extend the lockdowns

they wanted people to die

it was murder

here's a question for Miss Transylvania the DOH person from my venerable state:

"If you knew enough to take your own mother out of her home for her safety, WHY NOT SHARE YOUR CONCERN with the people of PA so they could also decide to take their loved ones out!?!?!"

but no. they needed deaths. they still need deaths. right now they're just generating case numbers as much as they can, with prisoners infecting each other on purpose and now JV kids too.

today they didn't release any numbers at all

this is due to the shitstorm that releasing PARTIAL numbers for the nursing home deaths the other day has caused. everyone is looking at that and going WTF. the data is utter garbage

389 The 11th Amendment and Sovereign Immunity: "The Judicial power of the United States shall not be construed to extend to any suit in law or equity, commenced or prosecuted against one of the United States by Citizens of another State, or by Citizens or Subjects of any Foreign State."

What this says is a State may not be sued by citizens of a SEPARATE State in US Federal Court, or by Foreign citizens in US Courts. (No Subject Matter Jurisdiction). And of course, citizens of a State wanting to sue their own State must use State Courts. What this means is that any State must be sued in State Courts, not Federal Court, UNLESS the State voluntary agrees to the Jurisdiction of a Federal Court, which may be done in various ways. Suits against the States in State Court are *not* strictly governed by the US Constitution, but rather by the State Constitution of whatever State is involved, and State Law.

Bluntly put, to sue the Government, State or Federal, in State or Federal Court, you must have the Permission of the State first. Sounds like a bad joke, but that is the literal truth.

You can't just go running to SCOUTS first. SCOTUS has original jurisdiction over a very limited number of matters. Everything else runs according to the powers granted to the courts by Congress *fist of fury exercise Article III powers screeching*

As a result, the procedure is district court, then circuit court, then SCOTUS but only if cert is granted, it's not automatic.

So while there is a procedure to expedite appellate review (rocket docket) you can't just skip the steps.

See re: me ranting about the rules being used as a means to cut off access to the courts.

runner, no, the CDC doesn't need to shut up it needs to be forced to ask a lot of basic questions, esp. by the WH team, which don't appear to have been asked - at any point.

Tragically it's probably just what has happened in almost all other areas. Technical expertise has become 1) crappy 2) politicized.

Several online actual journalist/substantive commentator types now saying they can't get epidemiologists and others to give interviews - clear implication that going public to eviscerate the lack of even basic science being practiced will be too risky, professionally.

And I don't see any sign there will be any accountability of any kind. All public policy-relevant science is now climastrology, apparently. Nonsense any smart lay person can destroy, but in the public square/professional lane - just silent, or mouthy, lysenkoism.

It is only "temporary" in that the House has the ability to try and move forward, but the win was firmly for Trump.

I got my hair cut today. Yay! I waited a while so I would not be killed in any opening stampede (barbershops and salons re-opened here on May 8th). Last haircut was in early February - yikes!

I was not required to wear a mask, get my temperature taken, or sign a state form stating I am healthy. Gov. Abbott either removed those requirements or is not enforcing them. All of the staff wore masks, but few customers.

HEB grocery stores also canned their requirement to wear a mask; only about half of the customers were doing so the past 2 weeks anyway

Bars can open at 25 percent capacity this Friday. We'll see how many establishments restrict customer count.

True!

I loved Palo Duro Canyon when I drove out there in '14, but the little town nearby, Canyon, though a college town, didn't have much to recommend it. A bookstore near the college was run by a friendly older couple . . . but they didn't have A/C, and this was May with temps close to 100 in the afternoon. I fled back to my hotel room.

Same thing with Larry McMurtry's two bookstores in his home town of Whatever-It-Is, TX. Hot and stuffy, and so was the diner just up the street. I dived back into my car and headed for my hotel in Fort Worth -- the first time in my life I left a bookstore in less than an hour.

558 I have a theory that all the bluestate Govs ordering nursing homes to take Covid patients all stemmed from a common, reflexive fuck-you-I'm-controlling-you gene.

Basically, nursing homes (many "for profit") protested what seemed like a risk (and expensive) proposition: having to institute hospital-like infection barriers in a place not well suited for them, while at the same time exposing their residents to significant risk of death.

But to the Blue Governors it all sounded like "profits before people" and eeevil "for profit" nursing homes not doing their Fair Share (TM). So they just assumed away all the good-faith, medical reasons being offered by the nursing homes and went into fuck-you-I'll-show-you mode and just "ordered" them to do what they (reflexively) assumed was The Right Thing (TM) --because some for profit institution initially came out against it.

But that's just my theory.
