Gallup: Trump Approval Rating Higher Than Four of the Last Six Presidents, Including Bush and Obama
This can't just be an outlier poll at this point.
At 49%, Trump is a hair away from the generally accepted 50%-51% approval political experts consider a lock to win reelection. Both Obama and Bush were at 50% approval on their reelection days. At this stage of their presidencies, Obama was at 47% approval, and Bush was at 46% approval. Also, at this stage of their presidencies and heading into the reelection, Bill Clinton was at 55% approval, George H.W. Bush at 40%, Ronald Reagan at 52%, and Jimmy Carter at 38%.CNN also found that Trump's approval rating was at the highest levels they'd ever found -- from the moment of his inauguration -- but chose, for reasons no one can even guess at, to completely hide that finding from the public. The CNN poll found that Biden was ahead of Trump nationally 51-46, which, you know, who cares. But meanwhile Trump was even further ahead of Biden in the swing states which will actually decide the election, 52-45.
In the new poll, 51% of registered voters nationwide back Biden, while 46% say they prefer Trump, while in the battlegrounds, 52% favor Trump and 45% Biden.

First off, I assume poll results are massaged more than Kobe beef, with the intention of shaping opinion, not measuring it.
That having been said, you'd think CNN et al. would cause their poll results to reflect recent events a bit, so that they at least had some appearance of validity.
So, for example, when Biden screws the pooch so laughably in his virtual town hall, knock down his poll results a few points, then if he does something well, bump them up a few points.
But as it is, Biden comes on camera forgetting to wear pants, bumbles his way through word salad, technical screw ups abound, and that doesn't have a scintilla of impact on his poll numbers.
C'mon, CNN. At least TRY to make these results look potentially believeable.

I live in what is basically a solid-blue 100% Democratic voter zone.
In 2008, literally EVERY SINGLE car and house had "Obama" stickers and signs.
Same in 2012.
Then in 2016, at first everyone had "Bernie" stickers and signs, then half of them switched to "Hillary." But still, everyone had either a Bernie or a Hillary sticker.
This year? Most cars are STILL sporting their old 2016 Hillary stickers. Some updated with Bernie 2020 stickers.
After he dropped out, I saw a smattering of "Mayor Pete" and "Warren" stickers.
Most of those have now been scraped off, though.
But to this day, do you know what I never seen even ONE of?
A Biden sticker or sign.
Not a single one.
The enthusiasm level for him around here in the Democratic base is basically at zero.
I'm sure they'll all ultimately vote for him, but only as an anti=Trump gesture. NO ONE cares about or likes Biden.

It's the people who don't really consider themselves Democrats (who vote Democrat in every election they vote in) but just kind of do it that are more important.
They're the suburban women vote. They're the Latino vote.
If they're not excited, then it's gonna cost them in some interesting places.

I don't think the much more useful polling done by the WH has been anything but very positive for some time, and explains the pre-C-19 focus on MN and even NM. They're looking at expanding the map, not defending it.
And the specific cases - MI, for example. A limp turn-out by Dems and Wayne County black voters, a plausible scenario at this point, vs. a super-charged "resistance" vote against the pathetic spectacle of their governor, will make the margin there much bigger than '16.

This is just cuckery. As an example, Pennsylvania had maybe three polls where Trump won, and many of the single digit lags were commissioned by the GOP. Wisconsin had Trump projected to win zero times since June. I can't believe there are people still stupid enough to take polls into serious consideration. I personally think they're being inflated to fuel a "Trump collapse" narrative later.
Nonetheless- the fundamentals are all going Trump's way. Dem elites will try their usual wizardry, but this isn't 2016. The country will be much more hostile to their usual bullshit.

And even in silly movies or TV shows like "Escape From New York" or "Airwolf", Borgnine's character could and did steal the show. THAT is star power.
Yeah he was genuine real star, just great at capturing your attention, but in a way you can't really put a finger on. Why IS he so interesting? He just is. He's craggy and not very attractive, with a rough voice but.... he grabs your eye and holds it.
To me, Walter Matthau was the same way, you just wanted to watch him in everything.

Dick Van Dyke is still good. Hillbillies is funny. Unlike a lot of you, I still like M*A*S*H, because the comedy lines are still good and the characters are still solid once you get past Frank Burns. Major Winchester was a great creation.

The little girl on Father Knows Best was Lauren Chapin. A sad story. Elinor Donahue, playing her older sister? Went on to have a nice little career over several decades, not only in comedy but in drama.

Friends had the same problem, there's no way even with all four of them in the same place, they could possibly afford that place. At least Seinfeld he had a pretty cruddy hole in the wall apartment in an old building, and he had a pretty good career.

that was a pretty funny show, and that show with guy that lived in a boat on his ex-wife's driveway. I think it had an SNL gal who named her wine glass Big Karl. The guy in the boat was the best part of that show.
