12 Chicago weekend got off with a bang
2 shot dead and 10 wounded before midnight Friday.

Mayor Buckwheat is thinking about allowing (!!!) restaurants to have outside dining on the sidewalks in Chicago.
Yep, I love eating on the sidewalks. Homeless drooling on your food and Karens tut tutting about the non-vegan choice as they stroll pass.
Plus some incoming pigeon poop to spice up your dish and sitting on a chair that hasn't been cleaned in 2 weeks.

Hold me back doggy daddy

16 Good Morning Morons today is Saturday, May 16, 2020. On this day in 1918 the Sedition Act of 1918 was passed by the U.S. Congress, making criticism of the government during wartime an imprisonable offense. It will be repealed less than two years later. It was blatantly unconstitutional.

Jennifer Rubin is being mocked.

Rubin, an MSNBC contributor who describes herself as a "conservative opinion writer," has become a celebrity among liberal circles in recent years for expressing her disdain for the sitting Republican president. In her latest column, she celebrated the decision from the U.S. Court of Appeals in the 4th Circuit to revive an emoluments lawsuit against the Trump Organization for allowing foreign governments to conduct business with Trump's hotels.

That Scrunt doesn't have a conservative bone in her body. She has always been a far left liberal. And that lawsuit over emoluments is pure unadulterated BS.

I retired after 30 years from a large multinational.
Every 3 years or so the NEXT BIG THING would have to be implemented in all of the factories. This was it, this is what we will be doing from now on. Get on board or get left at the station.
Meetings galore, money spent galore, and pretty soon, especially when they figured out how much money it was costing, we'd go back to business as usual.

The second or third time the old timers like me would just laugh, but go along with it. What the hell, they paid well and the benefits were great!

I don't get the conceit (regrettably common here) that Trump's failure to do everything at once was because he was clueless or inattentive.

The man was literally (I use the word as intended) surrounded by traitors.

Starting with his campaign manager.

Think about that. The guy who helped get you elected immediately treaches on you.

So does at least half your White House staff.

I hear people shout "FIRE THEM ALL" but then how do you get replacements?

Trump is a CEO, he's not Jimmy Carter demanding to review the tennis court schedule.

The swamp is big, bipartisan and deep, and we already know that when Trump uses the *exact same* Constitutional powers of appointment, the Dems *and the GOP* will declare it impeachable.

So he's moved slower, but good grief, he's gotten soooo much more done than Dubya ever did.

Now he's finally cleaning house.

Also: Given the amount of schadenboners he's enabled, why do people still whine about him? Serious question.

Are we just a bunch of ingrates?

It really is interesting, and adds a lot of hope that Durham and Grenell are about to unleash hell on the IC Deep State. I haven't had a chance to read her other works, but she seems to really know her stuff.

When California went after the gig economy, it struck to the core of the liberal base - artists, musicians, writers. These people are now being crushed and Dem the party leadership mocks their pain.

Linick attempted to play a role in the impeachment of President Donald Trump last year by approaching Congress with information that he appeared to think was relevant - it was not.

Even Democrats, who were chomping at the bit to impeach and remove the president, said that Linick was unhelpful.

336 "It's just weird to me that Governors are supposed to be calling the shots, but mayors of municipalities can run their own show."

Oddly enough, I think that is how it's supposed to work. For example, Maryland is such a diverse group of counties, with the independent city of Baltimore in the middle. Some counties have just about zip-point-shit for Wu-flu cases. Some, like the ones in contact with DC are through the roof.

Governor has basically said, I am relaxing the following limitations State-Wide. But...local leaders address your unique situations, and lead accordingly.

342 @317. In this case, our governor got a big smackdown from the state supreme court. Had the whole state on lockdown, officially till 26 May, though in private, not even thinking about anything earlier than September. Den gov, republican house & senate in legislature. Legislature brought case to court & won. We probably would have ended up with some restrictions, but our governor refuses to talk to the legislature at all, so they're like "fine - have the whole state open".

In the court ruling, it specifically says that local jurisdictions can have their own rules, provided that they are put in place in the legal process, and that they don't infringe on constitutional rights. It seems like only the city of Milwaukee and Dane county are wanting to risk the legal liability they are exposing themselves to by continuing this.

If I do it right and play on his sympathy for the panic attack earlier this week, I might be able to shut him up.

383 Argh sciatica sucks

Here's some free "not a physician advice" that works for me:

Turns out my "sciatica "when it occasionally pops up is actually an inflamed muscle pressing on the nerve, so...

If you're in the same boat, and after consulting your doctor, you might want to-

Keep a cold pack on that area all the doo-dah day to get the inflammation down (they make a large variety of belted hot/cold packs these days)

Take an NSAID of your choice. I like Aleve.

If I do this when the pain first shows up, I can usually strangle my "sciatica" in it's crib. And it's smooth sailing from there.
