Nancy Pelosi's $3 Trillion Bailout: Billions for Illegal Aliens, Mass Amnesty, Bailouts for Lobbyists, End to All Voter Integrity Laws

Does the We Have to Keep The Country Locked Down Forever caucus of make-pretend conservatives want to argue that we have to agree to this because it's that important that we keep locked down forever?

She's holding a gun to the head of America and saying that she will starve citizens who have been made unemployed forcibly by the government unless we give billions of American dollars to foreign criminals and also give them amnesty.

And also give a bailout to political lobbyists.

They've also snuck in a loophole that cancels all laws that require Voter ID at elections.

The bill also immediately releases all federal prisoners if they have asthma or diabetes or who are older than fifty (50??!) . All federal prisoners, including murderers and rapists.

To save them from coronavirus.

There is one exception: They don't get released if it can be affirmatively proven they'll murder a specific person.

If they're likely to murder random people, that's fine, they're still ordered released.

But if you can prove they will immediately get out of jail and kill a specific person -- well then, Warden Nancy will keep them for a lil' bit longer.

By the way: prisoners are now deliberately trying to get infected by coronavirus so that Democrats will let them out of jail. (Skip to second half of clip.)

And, of course: Also end the caps on the SALT deduction so that the millionaires in blue cities and blue states can deduct the taxes they pay to local and state governments from their federal tax bill, thus stealing from American federal tax reserves to put that money solely to California or New York.

The party of the people, right?

So, AllahPundit and the rest of the Lockdowns Forever SalonHot25:

Should we give into Nancy Pelosi's demands? Or should we let people the government has forcibly made unemployed starve?

OR SHOULD WE END THIS HOSTAGE SITUATION AND OPEN THE FUCKING ECONOMY?

They won't answer. They never do.

You just want to kill grandma.

Posted by: Flyguy at May 13, 2020 01:21 PM (3sOO0)

25 Dealing with this should be a show of force:
- No Republicans in the House should vote for it
- The Senate should immediately vote it down with no debate or discussion.

None of the normal procedures should apply. No debate. No committees. No trying to "fix it." No horse-trading.

Treat it as if the House had sent up a bill mandating the slaughter of the first-born male child in every household. Such a bill would not be treated as legitimate. Nor should this be. This is an affront to the republic, moreso even than usual.

The only response is a firm "no." No other feedback. No legitimacy. Nothing. Say "no" and they can try again.

As a purely political calculation, we're already past the tipping point where multi-TRILLION bailouts make electoral sense. The voters are bored and increasingly irritated. They want their stores open, their barbershops/salons open, they don't want to wear masks, and they're up to here with the BS. The only people that love the lockdown are hard-core Dems, and no amount of bailout money will ever appease those freeloaders.

No No, invite PDT to the Senate Floor to do it

Him tearing up her draft would be too close to the image of her tearing up his SOTU address. It would be normal for the Senate to waste a lot of time in "reconciliation". I think Trump's move here is to start the narrative on social media now: "Any Republican that can get behind any part of this isn't a Conservative and any part of it that passes the Senate is DOA on my desk. She knew that before she floated any part of it. Therefore it's Pelosi that's holding America Hostage and operating in bad faith against the American People."

"If a bill reaches my desk that contains A, I will veto it."

"If a bill reaches my desk that contains B, I will veto it."

"If a bill reaches my desk that contains C, I will veto it."

And just continue through the entire list of statist goodies in Pelosi's bill. It may take a while.

And then leave without taking questions.

So I imagine Trump has, as well. And I imagine that this was the major impetus in the State's control the reopening that Trump decided early on.

I suggested a better alternative was for cashier to use PPE and universal precautions AND the granddaughter should stay at home without contact for three weeks before visiting Grandma. No dead grandmother; no sick household.

Cousin liked the idea. Said it would probably help everyone to do that.

Some of her friends did not. Gave me the "Who do you choose to die so you can buy pizza?" Answered, "Well, since you're forcing me to choose, how about all the unborn babies whose mothers don't want them? They're already dying because abortion clinics are 'essential'."

We need an Amendment that any state that spends itself into financial oblivion gets its government dissolved and returned to Territory status.

Congress may then appoint a governor to oversee recovery and restructuring. Alternately, Congress may choose to divide the state or parcel it out to neighboring states as they see fit.

Breaking California into a handful of red and purple states and one solid blue one would solve many problems.

And NYC could be parceled out to New Jersey, for the ultimate insult.

Of course, as a consequence, so was the responsibility. Now they're the ones taking heat for not ending the lockdown.

I think that that was Trump's plan from the get-go. Notice that 1) he only said it once, 2) that once the governors shouted their authority was theirs, he did not dispute it, and 3) he'd long been talking about the need for action at the state and local level, and the Federal government was merely there to help if needed.

You have to look at everything through the eyes of mental manipulation and emotional persuasion. The incumbent has a huge advantage in any election. This is known. So the Democrats have made an organized, concerted, long-standing effort to make Trump somehow seem like he's *not the current president*.

Like Pelosi and the House being his "boss", Cuomohomo showing "real" leadership. All of it is intended to weaken Trump's standing in the minds of low-fo's.

Trump's "I have all authority", which he knew would be repeated everywhere was a comeback to that. Just a direct reminder of who the boss is, who the leader is, who the *incumbent* is in case anyone forgot.

This stuff matters way more than "policy" and constitutional minutiae, or the Democrats wouldn't be gaslighting everyone 24/7/366.

We need a vaccine for fascism first. Make THAT a priority.

Another consideration was the paramount one: political.

Suppose he'd blown off the epidemiologists' reports, kept the country open (when practically everywhere else closed down), and the virus took off. Bye bye re-election.

Now suppose he'd done all that, and the virus didn't take off. Would he have gotten any credit then?

No. The Reds would be howling that he'd gambled with Americans' lives by ignoring the "experts'" advice.

Upshot: either way, he'd lose the propaganda war.

So going with the lockdown was the politically astute thing to do.

375 Stern's crap was offensive to me when I was a classless teenager. I can only imagine how revolting he is now.

376 After further review, YMCA condition for entering are so damned strict
it will not be worth it. Check-in screening. mask in work out-areas,
no children under 18, only indoor pools open but appointment required etc... All for my safety, of course.

Screw them. I'll get my exercise hiking and biking.

I'm pretty sure that Stern wouldn't know "intelligence" if it walked up and slapped it's engorged cock across his face.

I don't know... once upon a time he was an astute marketer and self-promoter. I doubt he's a dumbass. But now, smart or not, he's just a sad old man with a withered pecker, shouting at the kids to get off his lawn. Watch for him to to start wearing an onion on his belt.

378 I'm watching the idiot Mayor of Savannah's presser.

He's bragging about a clothing company in Los Angeles sending 4,000 masks to Savannah to hand out.

Way to support local businesses, like Nine Line Apparel, you chubby tyrant.

Now, one of his spokes weasels is saying that by everyone wearing a mask, they can pressure others to wear them. Okay, Karen.

386 The founders likened the head executive office to an elected kingship. Trump DID have the power, the question is could he chance using it.

It's the same reasons that by design many of our states DID give governors emergency powers at their discretion because we are supposed to place them there for their discretion (not for DAMN SLOGANS!).

I don't back that our Constitution is some suicide "rights pact" and that has been rejected by many over the years. And likewise, I do not find that this is true of our states' constitutions either.

How in the hell could the "draft" ever be found Constitutional if you could argue that the Military discripline squelched your "freedom of speech" and you couldn't assemble like way, way far away from the front?

Heck, with the help of Wickard v. Filburn that put ALL productive ventures--including those not specifically participating in a market under "interstate commerce" Congress could snuff the say that governors have over places of businesses right out of their hands. And the president could "exercise" some found some scrounged legal justification that Congress passed to enforce Congress' control of "interstate commerce".

After all, if one more justice would have voted that Congress can compel activity so as to regulate it in NFIB v. Sebellius, it would have been Obama executing that law. The power of Congress to regulate "interestate commerce" (which would then include the power to compel private citizens' commercial actions), is executed by the executive branch.

President Trump DID have such power. A vigorous executive provides for such power. It was, as he indicated, whether or not he wanted to press all the power he had.

What did the founders say was the maximum tax rate the government could ever levy? They answered that it was less than what the people will absolutely not put up with.

Push and push back is part of this government.

My sometimes lovable but useless nephew loves this lockdown. He's
got his pot, he's making more on unemployment than he did working his
crappy PT job. Life's good as far as he's concerned.

as does my indigent sister. i happened to be at her place once while her husband was preparing for work. preparations consisted of trying to come up with a plausible reason he couldn't go to work. he would only go to work if he came up empty.

Unfortunately, way too easy, the GOP has a terrible map this year. We lose Colorado, that state is now blue, and they have the very popular governor running against Gardner. Same in Montana, a very popular gov. running against Daines. AZ has a bad candidate (McSally) against a NASA astronaut married to Gabrielle Giffords (the congresswoman who was shot by a crazy guy.) So that that's gone. Collins is gone in Maine, NOBODY likes her. Even assuming we pick up Alabama, that's 3 seats down. We really, really, really needed to pick up WV and the Tester seat in Montana in 2018 to hedge against this year and we didn't - Tester is why I am pessimistic about Montana, they have shown they haven't quite figured out voting for Trump and sending a Dem back to the Senate doesn't really work. Maybe we get lucky and hold on in Montana, maybe we pick up MIchigan, but it's just not great for us. And I am leaving out NC, which the Dems are excited about but I personally think Tillis can hold on.

Posted by: Mikey NTH - Poetry Power! Sonnets of the Shut-Ins Available at The Outrage Outlet! at May 13, 2020 02:06 PM (RgoC/)

Exactly. If Trump had issued order for a nationwide lockdown, they'd be protesting against him. The Reds would think all their Christmases May Days had arrived at once. There'd be mass marches in DC complete with yellow and black signs, angry speeches, riots with police, talking heads on the MSM, the whole bit.

But now? "Take it up with your governor."

396 The educational institution I work for has just declared that they expect to fully open back up in January. I expect to see other institutions quickly follow suit with the result that all universities will commit to remote teaching for the Fall semester even before summer arrives.

With schools shut down in the fall, the rest of the lockdown will continue to persist through the election. They expect to be fully operational for the spring 2021 semester because they fully expect a Democrat to be in the White House, and for the states to immediately drop all restrictions once the votes are certified.

By committing to locking down all colleges in the Fall at this early time, they are beginning the process of squeezing every vote they can out of college students. It looked like college students enthusiasm for voting for Biden (or any other candidate) appeared lukewarm at best pre-covid since they were seething over their preferred candidate Bernie getting screwed over again. The way to get them riled up is to confirm right now that their social club (college) is closed at least until 2021, and without school and parties to attend, there will be no reason to stop them from voting early and often for the non-Trump candidate. They will be sure to keep reminding the kids that their schools have been shut down due to his incompetence, and that no one in the country would have been sick if it wasn't for him, and he's the only thing preventing a complete cure and return to normalcy.
