[Mamaroneck, N.Y.—May 6, 2020] A CBS News crew pulled medical professionals off the floor at the Cherry Medical Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to line up in their vehicles so a CBS film crew would have a long line for their COVID-19 coverage. ... 'Apparently, the news crew wanted more people in the line,' said a Cherry Health Supervisor. "We pretended. There were a couple of real patients, which made it worse," Said Another Registered Nurse.In other words, CBS delayed the treatment of real patients so they could get their shot of fake patients waiting in long lines.

"The insider told us that medical personnel were taken away from treating patients and making the line longer for actual patients wait for the COVID-19 test," he said.CBS "News" calls the report "100% false." You know, like Joe Biden says. Hidden video camera of the nurses admitting CBS asked them to fake a line at the link.

The major networks are critical infrastructure. Broad reach, very centralized. So take over the buildings and liquidate the current executives. Their behavior would get any non-criminal industry shut down with prejudice.

Operation Linebacker II bombed the North Viets back to the peace table in about 10 days, where they basically begged for peace because they were FINALLY getting bombed back into the stone age. Messy and unsatisfying, but seeing as we achieved our objectives of a peace treaty and recognition of South Vietnamese independence, I call that a win.
The next war, about 2 years later was another matter.

Good example of how we're not fighting back. If we were truly fighting back, Trump and/or his press secretary would force CBS to answer to this at their next briefing. At the very least, our leading politicians would. They don't.
This would force CBS on the defensive, force them to cover the story, and expose James O'Keefe (who probably reaches a limited audience of likeminded viewers) to a much wider audience.

Our local news in Michigan is only a mouthpiece for our esteemed Governor, but they out did themselves yesterday saying that the western part of our state was showing a high and concerning rate of the Chinese flu virus. So when this story was played on our local talk radio it explained a lot. Since a few lawsuits have been filed against the governor, the local news and the democrat party were busy trying to justify her bizarre behavior.

I never got the lines at these testing centers. While I am sure they did get some traffic, it wasn't much. Every time I drove past our local site, the personnel were on their phones or taking a smoke break.

Then an Israeli press photographer released a photo of the reverse angle. It showed about 20 photographers from various agencies lined up in a cluster to photograph the event and no one else around either them or the stone thrower.
It was staged. Completely.
I wish I had saved the picture, it is nowhere to be found now (and least nowhere I have found).
In no respect is the Press trustworthy, and it has not been trustworthy for my entire lifetime.

When the food shortages start to get bad, which will be pretty damned soon. Meat is already getting expensive and rare. That is something that the rich and powerful cannot avoid by their money and position. If the food isn't there its not there, no matter how rich you are. They'll finally start feeling the pinch.

* reproduction rate much lower than initially believed
* hospitalization/acute care rate, even at "peaks" not a problem
One wonders:
* why diagnostic testing other than for symptomatic, and screening for medical/assisted care/etc staff, other select occupations?
* why not pour resources into a very rapid, huge anti-body survey, which will help confirm non-apocalyptic dimensions of this bug?
And the constant, widespread, unvarying anecdotal accounts of empty testing centers, even some closing already due to lack of business.
Several things that don't seem to make sense in any framework, unless I'm missing a lot.

I would like to ask a question. Not trying to be a troll.
Why do people hate the concept of masks? Taiwan and Hong Kong knocked this down to zero with the use of masks.
I do fluid dynamics in real life, and the physics all support masks reducing the spread. N95 masks will even protect you substantially although I would not exercise in them unless you want to pass out.
Other things that reduce the spread is low density, warn temperatures, and sunlight (I agree no masks are needed outside, and 6 feet is overkill in even a light breeze). Which is likely why California and Florida have stayed low (as well as Cali likely having a less virulent strain hit it in January).
I was saying these things back in Feb when cdc and fda were giving out misinformation. Even Ace came out a while back and said if it helps open things up just do it.
Is it that you think it makes you a subject? I live in Cali and I am infuriated at all this. The news media infuriated me. Fauci infuriated me. But masks are the one thing an independent Free thinking person can do as their part. If we had just done masks from the I think we would be in exactly the same spot we Are in now. Maybe better. But wearing a mask means I am doing the one thing I have control over to help older people. Maybe I am just a slave. Prove me wrong. Give me A good reason for not wearing a mask. I never got the lines at these testing centers. While I am sure they did get some traffic, it wasn't much. Every time I drove past our local site, the personnel were on their phones or taking a smoke break.

So, we continue to give the federal workers their pensions, the bums get to live it up in the fairmont, illegals have yet one more freebie, and I'm trying to figure out how to make my mortgage payments and keep my mother in assisted living at almost $5k/mo with no fekking job.

How many Americans truly understand the requirements for mask hygiene? How many Americans re-use their cotton masks? Dental hygienists toss out their disposable masks between patients. N95 masks and filters have to be disinfected every day (I'd trade out a mask every eight hours). I have no doubt whatsoever that when this crapshow is over, far more people will be treated for respiratory problems related to improper use of face masks than the number of people who avoided Wuhan Flu by wearing a mask.

I am going to wear a mask in just about half an hour. My choice. We are going to visit an elderly lady in our congregation to see how she is doing and to pray with her. She will feel more comfortable if we are wearing masks, so wear them we will, as we would cause her stress otherwise. Our choice.

Masks probably do help in the outbound direction (e.g., if you are infected and asymptomatic, it helps keep your germs to yourself). I wear a mask when I feel a bit unwell but have to go to work, so that I don't share with my colleagues.
From this standpoint, wearing a mask is reasonably if you have any suspicion of infection. If you don't, it's probably pointless.

I just saw a PSA on CBS yesterday regarding protecting First Amendment rights. I immediately thought of Sharyl Atkinson and laughed. Now this comes out today! I try to stay away from the news as much as possible, but it's very difficult if one wants to keep up with current events. If I watch too much I end up angry because it's very easy to see the nuance and outright lies they tell us almost daily and I feel powerless to call them on it and make them fix it, so I turn it off.

Closing parks and beaches and saying it is safer to go to Walmarts than small retailers is ridiculous.

A woman at the table (American) took exception and asserted that they are sometimes wrong due to deadline pressures, but they don't lie.
I gave her an analogy. I said, "Assume we're talking about an investment advisor instead. Every time you give him $1000, he loses your money. There are two possible reasons for this. A few old people were wearing masks, Asians (as always), but that was about it. Sure, it's pretty spread out, but people were driving from all over to get there.
I was surprised the ranger station was open TBH. But of course, all the picnic tables, out in the sun in 80 degree weather were taped off. My tax dollars at work. Sadly, even if half of the crazy libs in this state decided to vote the other way, I don't think we can overcome the illegals voting.

I've seen that before but it really does not make any sense to me. From what little I know of biology I thought that if just one virus (of any sort) got in and your immune system allowed it to reproduce then you are going to get the disease until your immune system can fight it off or you die. The only thing I can think of where the load would matter is if your body can fight off a few but not many. If that is the case then would not everybody die that gets infected?

Leave some nice warm chicken salad out for a couple of days, and salmonella WILL come knocking. It's in the air. All the time. But in low doses.

It ain't just Vegas that's going to suffer. My son is a poker dealer at Mohegan Sun casino in CT. They are saying possibly they will do a soft opening at the end of July but they won't need everyone when that happens.
A whole bunch of casino business was elderly people and they for the most part are not going back because of their fear of the virus thanks to the media. They are predicting it will take 18-24 months after they reopen to get back to half of their business they had before this started.
My son turns 39 next week, still time for him to look for another line of work. He has been with that Casino since he graduated High School. Worked his way up from the bottom starting as a slot machine mechanic.
