Bouguereau was the standard-bearer for the late Academic style. He was held up by the modernists as everything that was wrong with Western art and why the avant-garde was so necessary. Traditionalism was losing ground by this time, but through Bouguereau and his contemporaries, it was able to hang on for another few decades in Europe. WWI more-or-less destroyed what was left of it. Traditionalism's last refuge was America, until about the Cold War. While there are still traditionalists around and practicing, it does not have even close to the level of influence on culture it did.

Bretton aristocrat wondered into her tiny den, looking for someone to mend his riding britches. No one else was around - all servant from servant hall were carrying merry, celebrating end of summer at town square. Nine month later lowly seamstress had a girl child. Mom died in childbirth and poor girl was forced to become a knitter. To punish her for daydreaming, head housemaid took away poor child's shoes.

Both my grandfathers wore toothbrush mustaches right through the Hitler era. And both of them had multiple sons in the fight.

Speaking of handcrafts (such as knitting), I discovered yesterday a mistake in a dragon cross stitch I've had as my secondary project for a while. (The primary project, a peacock, is almost done. It's gorgeous. I'm just doing the backstitching now.) This is the third mistake in the dragon. The first was that I started stitching in the wrong place, so the piece isn't centered on the cloth; the second was a miscount that I couldn't fix completely and had to adjust the pattern for; and the third is another miscount that, because of where it is on the thread, will be very hard to fix. Since there's only a couple hundred completed stitches or so, I'm thinking about just frogging* the whole thing and starting over completely. Good opportunity to learn parking (a wacky technique where you have like 10 needles active at once and swap between them as you reach new colors), I think.

Kilroy, yeah, pre-existing conditions are a problem.
There are other similar programs. I chose Samaritan because they do not require that you apply for Medicaid. Other programs that do are cheaper and may help with the pre-existing condition situation. Let's see, there's Medishare, Christian Healthcare, and Liberty that I checked out when I settled on Samaritan. Liberty does not require church affiliation, if I recall. My sister's family had Samaritan and made a claim and it worked out very well for them. One thing I love is that I don't have to worry about staying in-network. There is none. NY has been marking any and all deaths as covid.
------------------------- I'm not quite sure how the billing will work yet but typically the hospital bills the insurance (commercial or government) and also the patient or next of kin for the self pay portion. I think by pushing for a covid illness insurance is out of it completely and the government will directly pay the hospital. That would be a powerful motivator for a hospital. Typically the government pays fast and without much scrutiny. Posted by: MJ at May 05, 2020 10:32 AM (gAMkn) 295

This is a prime example of racism. This white girl painting should be sold for $1billion ang given to Obama Foundation. If not it should be impounded by the DNC. The proceeds will be donated to the Obama Fund. The remainder amount will go to the Biden campaign. If this painting is not sold for $1 billion then all non-white taxpayers should make up the difference in the coming fiscal year via a covid19 tax. Further all copies, images, and semi___s across the entire internet should be taxed for $30000 per image-minute until till the Biden campaign has won the US presidential Election. Your probably saying, Barky That will take a long time. Who cares I do not! Even if Biden never wins I need the money.
