Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Shocker: Jussie Smollett May Have Had Sex With The Man He Paid to Fake-Attack Him In An "Upscale Chicago Gay Bathhouse"Upscale Chicago Gay Bathhouse you say...? Hmm, who do we know who might know something about an Upscale Chicago Gay Bathhouse? Would this be located near Hyde Park, by any chance?Visits to an upscale Chicago gay bathhouse may prove that embattled “Empire” star Jussie Smollett was more than friends with his alleged attacker Ambimbola "Abel" Osundairo. "They used to party together and he had a sexual relationship with [Abel]. They went to this affluent Chicago bathhouse multiple times and they had to show ID. It's known as a bathhouse where a lot of affluent black gay men hang out. There should be a record [of their visits]," an insider told Page Six, adding that the bathhouse records may be subpoenaed in Smollett’s upcoming trial on charges of disorderly conduct. White House task force briefing starting soon. Also available here. Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

The reason elective surgeries are cancelled is because China is Asshole. The sedative and paralytic drugs used to intubate (and also keep people in a "medically induced coma" while on a vent) are in short supply. Hospitals don't want to use up their supply for non emergent stuff. Until we stop outsourcing drug manufacturing to offshore locations, shortages will continue to be a problem.

Good solid Midwestern folks, spanning all ages from crusty geezers to peach-fuzzed youths. About equal numbers of men and women. The signs got weirder the closer you got to the capital building, with anti-vaxxers and other flotsam in attendance, plus a green 4Chan flag to freak out the squares. Two older ladies were blowing shofars (the Jewish vuvuzela). My favorites include the sign "Congrats Gretch U did it! You unseated Jenny as worst MI gov!" and a pitchfork with a roll of toilet paper brandished by a protester. I liked the punk rock style of a hand-lettered sign that read "1984 NO MORE!" The Senate's recourse to the courts to counter the outrageous Obama recess appointment abuse was about as clear a sign of institutional collapse as one could imagine.
In the the prior America (every minute up to that point, or just before) - both leaders would have been in front of cameras in 5 minutes, letting any president know he could choose between abiding by unquestioned precedent and rules, or having any other business, including appropriations, taken up by the Senate, ever, during his term. Speaking of masks and supplies - i listened to a yale asshat talk on the JAMA network yest. Of course he blamed PDT for not keeping up stock in masks.
This really is a bottoms up problem. I mean, I have sold capital equipment and put together spare parts lists for large scale production across multiple facilities, and you come up with plans. It is disgusting that hospitals were not prepared for this. 1.The HOSPITALS should have had emergency supplies. They should not need state regulators to tell them this, but 2. State regulators and emergency response groups should have had back up if needed. It is not like "nobody saw this coming," since it is not much different from a biological attack, or really bad flu season - things we have been paying to be prepared for 3. yeah, FEMA and the feds have had further backup, but that is a third level of redundancy. Fed "cupboad" should have only been for VA and military, not states. Posted by: Gentlemen, this is democracy manifest at April 15, 2020 06:32 PM (LWu6U) 469

Posted by: rhomboid at April 15, 2020 06:31 PM (El6T/) Frankly - Barry doesn't get enough credit around here. He looked at both the House and Senate and sized them up the way he knew how - like a street hustler eyes his marks. Then he got down to business. Some of 'em he bought cheap - like McCain. He knew all it took to get McCain is his hip pocket was to let him wet his beak a bit, and make him feel important by letting him see behind the curtain. Others, like Boehner and Ryan, he judged as weak and rightly didn't try to buy them off at all. He just steamrolled 'em. Barry had what's often called a "low cunning". But it works. My wife sent me this:
--- Rules of Michigan: 1. Basically, you can't leave the house for any reason, but if you have to, then you can. 2. Masks are useless, but maybe you have to wear one, it can save you, it is useless, but maybe it is mandatory as well. 3. Stores are closed, except those that are open. 4. You should not go to hospitals unless you have to go there. Same applies to doctors, you should only go there in case of emergency, provided you are not too sick. 5. This virus is deadly but still not too scary, except that sometimes it actually leads to a global disaster. 6. Gloves won't help, but they can still help. 7. Everyone needs to stay HOME, but it's important to GO OUT. 8. There is no shortage of groceries in the supermarket, but there are many things missing when you go there in the evening, but not in the morning. Sometimes. 9. The virus has no effect on children except those it affects. 10. Animals are not affected, but there is still a cat that tested positive in Belgium in February when no one had been tested, plus a few tigers here and there… 11. You will have many symptoms when you are sick, but you can also get sick without symptoms, have symptoms without being sick, or be contagious without having symptoms. Oh, my.. 12. In order not to get sick, you have to eat well and exercise, but eat whatever you have on hand and it's better not to go out, well, but no… 13. It's better to get some fresh air, but you get looked at very wrong when you get some fresh air, and most importantly, you don't go to parks or walk. But don’t sit down, except that you can do that now if you are old, but not for too long or if you are pregnant (but not too old). 14. You can't go to retirement homes, but you have to take care of the elderly and bring food and medication. 15. If you are sick, you can't go out, but you can go to the pharmacy. 16. You can get restaurant food delivered to the house, which may have been prepared by people who didn't wear masks or gloves. But you have to have your groceries decontaminated outside for 3 hours. Pizza too? 17. Every disturbing article or disturbing interview starts with " I don't want to trigger panic, but…" 18. You can't see your older mother or grandmother, but you can take a taxi and meet an older taxi driver. 19. You can walk around with a friend but not with your family if they don't live under the same roof. 20. You are safe if you maintain the appropriate social distance, but you can’t go out with friends or strangers at the safe social distance. 21. The virus remains active on different surfaces for two hours, no, four, no, six, no, we didn't say hours, maybe days? But it takes a damp environment. Oh no, not necessarily. 22. The virus stays in the air - well no, or yes, maybe, especially in a closed room, in one hour a sick person can infect ten, so if it falls, all our children were already infected at school before it was closed. But remember, if you stay at the recommended social distance, however in certain circumstances you should maintain a greater distance, which, studies show, the virus can travel further, maybe. 23. We count the number of deaths but we don't know how many people are infected as we have only tested so far those who were "almost dead" to find out if that's what they will die of… 24. We have no treatment, except that there may be one that apparently is not dangerous unless you take too much (which is the case with all medications). Orange man bad. 25. We should stay locked up until the virus disappears, but it will only disappear if we achieve collective immunity, so when it circulates… but we must no longer be locked up for that? This was one of those touchy subjects having to do with the heavy hand of government planning in WWII. Lots of people speak up about how proud everyone was of all de folks doin they part -- but if you were around for the aftermath, that is not how the story was told. My dad was an apprentice machinist for a world-class safe company. One of their products was very large, very heavy safes for naval cruisers. When the new government orders came out, a sheet-metal company in another state was making safes for ships, and the company my dad was leaving (for the Army) got reassigned to making field cookstoves. Whole new line of work. Nobody could say why -- and nobody ever did. Things like that happened all over. Decisions were made on the fly, often with insufficient information -- and, many claimed, sometimes with shadowy political intent. For gosh sakes, don't talk to anybody in Butler PA about how great Jeeps are. Posted by: Way, Way Downriver at April 15, 2020 06:55 PM (8IOEj) 623

@628 For better, good clean fun, maybe we could both work on reassuring willow. The wondrous, all-forgiving season of Lent seems to be ending kind of hard this year. Things have been blowing up raw really fast for, oh hell I don't know, the last three or so years.
Willow needs to know it's just a basic free-fire zone, and nobody has it in for her. Tough old buffalo-wangs can take it and dish it out. Our gentle-folk should never have to feel put upon by "circumstance." Posted by: Way, Way Downriver at April 15, 2020 07:28 PM (8IOEj) Posted by: NaCly Dog at April 15, 2020 07:34 PM (u82oZ) 633

Reports say that when the two, hulking brothers arrived on the Empire set, Jussie and the gay Empire show producer were eagerly talking about ofering "bigger parts" and "new positions" for them.
