When liberals say that citizens are too incompetent -- mentally, physically, and emotionally -- to own guns, they're universalizing from their own N=1 sample.
We tried to look at just who the new firearm purchasers were and we believe that more than 60% of these individuals were first time buyers. I can't describe the amount of fear in my staff as we had the buyers show proof of safe handling as part of the purchase process as required by law. You have never seen so many barrels pointed at sales staff and other customers. It was truly frightening. We had to keep stopping the process to give quick safety lessons. We are adding many more basic classes in the coming weeks and encouraged these buyers to please attend. We hope they do.

It is funny to hear them go off over how hard it was to get guns and that so much of what they knew was not what they knew.
They are going to be ok with handling them but since they are buying in a hurry, they are getting a bunch of garbage inventory shoved off to them.

It's a nice enough service with good price on pantry stuff, but yeah, pain in the ass for delivery times when they're busy.

As mentioned a few weeks ago here, my brother, a Democrat voter, was pissed at his inability to buy a gun in California where he has rightly become highly concerned about the number of criminals released with no housing and no employment prospects in his area. That combines with restless youth out of school and taught how very special and untouchable they are, has resulted in a metric ton of illicit night time activities that the police wont even acknowledge, let alone respond to.
I thoroughly enjoyed laughing out loud when he asked me to mail him one of my pea shooters.
Then last week a neighbor that I suspect strongly of having a lot of liberal on them, asked if they could borrow a gun to keep in the house since there have been a couple instances of night time prowling nearby.
"Sorry man. The law just past in this state says that I can't even let my wife use one of my guns in my own house. I'll be glad to answer the phone, but you can't have my gun."

Honest guess, because I haven't really thought about this, I doubt it makes much difference. The round you send in will hit soft tissue and keep going. It'll find something vital eventually, as long as it travels fast enough. And you aimed well.

So where exactly is used gun market these days? I haven't bought a used gun from a private individual in literally decades. Can't sell 'em on craigslist. Nobody reads newspaper classifieds if they even still accept personal ads for guns. Are those libs going to go to gun shows and try to sell in the parking lot? Most likely they'll either take them to a dealer and sell for cents on the dollar which doesn't help you or me or they'll decide not to sell and stick them in the sock drawer "just in case" there's ever another panic.

I'm getting skittish in that my formerly rural town has been absorbed by the growing cancer that is silicon valley. They were a group of 4-5, were not relatives (I was privy to much of their conversation) and they actually bumped into me a few times - they were that close. Not that I cared, but it was interesting.

The big Crackhead super Kroger near me was like a zombie apocalypse had hit it. When I left, I felt like I not only needed to burn my mask, but shower as soon as I got home.

Which is not *that* shocking to me. People do what they do, know quite a bit about things they're involved in, often, much less about other things.
Had one fun experience with an old friend who found a CZ27 his dad must have bought overseas in military service. I took over, had a gunsmith totally disassemble/clean and check it, then took my friend to the range to try it out. He's not a gun guy and won't be, but it was interesting that everything about the process of even dealing with an "off the grid" gun like his was a complete mystery to him.

I do support generous/aggressive/flexible *education* for any gun owners that want it. And like the store owner cited I support dealers pushing the idea.
It's not a unique situation, just a distinctive one. Driving a car, operating a chainsaw or certain heavy industrial tools, skydiving, hang-gliding, on and on - all things that call for some instruction, or a lot.

I went to Costco yesterday and our Kroger owned grocery today. Neither place had toilet paper, although Costco had plenty of paper towels, and liquid soap. Costco is letting 20 people in at a time, and no longer drawing on your receipt, you hold it up to a plastic wall and the clerk waves you out.
At both stores, maybe half of the employees and a little less than that of the customers were masked. Fewer were gloved. Everyone was respectful and stayed out of each other's way. The checkout lines at Kroger extended far down the aisles to accommodate the 6 foot biz. Made it hard to shop since everyone waiting to checkout was blocking the food.

But more importantly, Larry Correia had a blog post back after Trump had been elected when a slew of unhinged leftists genuinely believed that Orange Man Bad was the Second Coming of Hitler and rushed out to buy guns...only to discover that they'd been lied to about how "easy" it was to buy a gun. (One of these lunatics was good old Ana Marie "Wonkette" Cox, if you recall)
You would think they would have learned then, but nope. Leftists only LARP at having high IQs by pretending to enjoy watching Cosmos. So of course they didn't learn and went right back to voting for yet more draconian gun laws, and when this stupidity is all over, they'll perform another brain dump, forget the lesson, and go right back to voting for yet more "sensible" gun control.
