As Leftwing China-Colluding Media Claims That Fox News is to Blame for the Chinese Flu, Tucker Carlson Reviews The Media's Constant Downplaying of the Seriousness of the Disease

I say again: I want investigations into how heavily our media is invested in China, and how much China is invested in our media.

If our media is, as it appears, a corrupt organization dominated financially by a hostile foreign communist power, we should know that.

I want to know the deals Disney, for example, makes with China -- and what impositions it puts on ABCNews -- to get its stupid gay-ass Marvel movies exhibited there.

I want to know what promises Warner Bros. makes to China to get its movies played there -- and I want to know how WB communicates its preferences to its Fake News unit, CNN.

I want to know the exact level of cross-ownership and exact level of favor-trading going on between our media behemoths and a hostile foreign communist power.

The media is against foreign collusion, right?

Right?

How far is the Corporate China-Shill media willing to go to protect China?

This far: The New York Times writes an article praising China for so effectively containing their own hell plague, but waits until the end of the article to mention, oh yeah, China is still disappearing scientists who say the plague has not been contained.

Gee, seems like something that should have been mentioned in the headline, no?

Meanwhile...

This fat cocksucker, who paralyzed the country while the pandemic was spreading for his stupid impeachment sham (which he insisted on primarily to deflate a leftwing challenger), is now holding up an aid package to keep the country from falling into a Great Depression to suck more welfare for New York City from the hinterlands?

How many trillions did we pour into NYC since 9/11? When does it fucking end?

I think the rest of the country is ready to build a fucking wall around NYC and leave it to its own fate.

New Yorkers, understand this: The good feeling the country had about you post-9/11 is gone. A lot of us would rather the entire city be left to rot than be forced to send more money to this ungrateful, demanding, snidely superior shithole.

I think New York is going to about to have a very rude awakening.

Private message: "if it's serious enough to shut down the entire economy, it's serious enough to shut down NYC and wall it off."

Also:

"These people screaming about how New York 'is there for them in times of crisis' know that their media flat-out ignores major flooding and tornadoes that leave hundreds in flyover country all the fucking time?"

Last month, NYC's Health Commissioner: What, me wuhan?

11 So the final lesson of 1918, a simple one yet one of the most difficult to execute, is that those who occupy positions of authority must lessen the panic that can alienate the members of a society. A society that takes as its motto "every man for himself" is no longer a civilized society.

Welp. I read this story. And there's a lot to learn here.

Most important to me is this: DO NOT IGNORE A FEVER. We treat a fever because it's damaging. Yeah, the high temp can kill viruses. But it also kills healthy cells. A fever over 102° can be life threatening for some. Brain damage can occur over 105°. How much better would he have been if he'd treated his fever immediately with Tylenol and his wife's very smart idea of tepid baths?

Furthermore, as far as hydrating goes, he states how he was drinking plenty of water. This is stupid. Water alone is NOT sufficient. It will deplete you of critical electrolytes that your body needs to fight this. Drink Gatorade G2 or Zero, or Pedialyte (yeah, seriously).

Finally, a word about his very whiny shit about being hurt over the racist Chinese virus name. Fuck you, dude. China is not a race. This disease originated in China, was allowed to spread by the communist Chinese government, so Chinese virus it is. I'm not going to call Ebola something else, or Lyme disease, or Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, or German measles. Take your victimhood and fuck off. The Chinese Lung AIDS it is.

209 if you are drinking ANY sports drink, you need to dilute it for two reasons:

full strength -ades will make your dehydration worse, by pulling water out of your cells to dilute it. we regularly had to IV idiots out in the field who wouldn't drink the water because it "tasted bad"... my safety briefs to my troops when i was a medic always included a bit about "you can drink water, or you can have me digging around in your arm, looking for a vein with one of these..." while holding up a 16 gauge needle. they are yuge, and are used for compounding.

nope, i never had one of my troops go down because of dehydration.

the other reason to dilute those beverages is because, at full strength they will demineralize your teeth as you drink them. they are harder on your teeth than soda pop

271 I took a 50 mile ride through Collier county FL this afternoon, never getting off the bike. As always, I wore my full-body one-piece zoom bag skid suit and gloves and a full face helmet.

While DeSantis has closed all the beaches and asked all bars and restaurants to close, a number of restaurants are able to do steady biz doing takeout, due to the huge influx of snowbirds we typically have. But March is usually the last for many, and we hope things quiet down after April 1.

Privately owned stores are largely open. Dress shops, shoe stores, jewelers, art galleries, the real estate shops, wealth management joints, and a whole lot more.

The corporate stores like Apple, Macy's, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstroms, all closed, of course. Correctness rules for them.

Cars in the parking lots at all office complexes. Hotel parking lots, for the resort hotels on or near the beaches, all maybe half full.

So here, it looks like biz as usual except for food and drink, and the headliner retailers.

Construction going on everywhere, and the supplier trucks are everywhere. Seems completely normal.

367 NBC and MSM is out tonight with the latest Coronavirus scold article - people aren't taking the end times seriously! Why - 50K cases have been reported in America and 600 people - 600! have died since early Feb in the US....why are those figure after nearly 8 weeks of being in the US and at least 3 full on weeks of sheer PANIC and entire with wipe out of whole industries...so unfrightening? NOAA estimates that 6,000 people every year are struck from lightening, 2,000 is the often sited as the estimate in the US alone. So, the deadliest pandemic of all time strikes according to the media...and the best statistics after a couple of months of this KILLER are deaths that are about a third less than of those struck by lightening in the US every year.

I don't think that people who take themselves seriously when talking on TV like doctors and virologist about the abject terror associated with this even hear themselves - certainly that don't work as insurance statisticians - or they'd be embarrassed. When getting struck by lightening is more common than dying from something you're screaming over and over is so deadly you can't even go to town over...you've made a complete boob of yourself, whether you realize it or not.

We start off with payments to individuals of $1,200 per person with $500 per child. The credit phases out at $75,000/$150,000/$112,500 in income. This is the same as the previous Senate versions.

Withdrawal rules for retirement accounts are relaxed.

RMDs are waived

A new $300 above-the-line charitable deduction is created. It's only available to those that take the standard deduction.

Employer-side payroll tax deposits are delayed until Jan. 1, 2021. Fifty percent is due by 12/31/21 and the remainder by 12/31/2022....

Now, a word of caution, until this bill text is posted on a public Senate/House website, small changes to text can still occur.

For example, this doesn't have any payroll credits for retaining workers. I expected to see those in the final text. Now, maybe they got dropped or maybe there is a final final final version still to be released.

This is much, much closer to the Senate's versions than anything from the House, but this is reflects clear bipartisan compromise on a number of issues.

420 First off, this excludes all Morons.

However, while NY is a blight on the cultural and political landscape of the US and deserves nothing but scorn from the flyover states, I personally like NYers about 100x more than Californians. The ones we get in CO are insufferable.

Has to do with computer driven arbitrage with the commodities markets. Due to the mild winter, New England sap is running early this year.

428 Our media -- "cultural workers" -- are all fellow travelers and agents of influence for the Left. Once upon a time, the lodestar was Moscow, now it's Beijing's Zhongnanhai, the leadership compound due west of the Forbidden City. But the common thread, now and then, is fealty to a foreign ideology and agenda.

Posted by: PubliusII at March 24, 2020 08:37 PM (NfSR2)

429 Once, back through the nigh-impenetrable time-curtain of the 1990s, back from a legendary, mythical time, almost before the knowledge of modern society, ruled over the land fear of an inevitable nuclear (or nucular, depending on your location) war with, not Russia, but with a vanished civilization called the USSR, a deadly (mostly to its own subjects) socialist/communist dictatorship.

My one consolation was knowledge that the first targets hit would be Washington, DC and New York City. I believed that if we won, as of course we must, we would be better off. Man was I right!

It has amazed me over the last almost 19 years how the self-centeredness and arrogance of New Yorkers has pissed away all the good feelings that were bestowed upon them after they took one for the team on 9/11. Now? Who gives a fuck?

Now they can have all the stupid, high-cost shit they voted for, good and hard. The shutdown is gonna hurt them badly? They should take it up with their congresscritters. They're the ones who made sure everyone's eyes were on shampeachment while the virus spread.

NYC hosts the news organizations that routinely ignores floods and tornadoes in flyover country, because the rubes aren't important. DC hosts the unelected bureaucrats who think they know better than those flyover rubes how life should be lived.

Well, this rube says, "FUCK Y'ALL!"

As suggested in one of Ace's links, NYC should be walled off and left to rot, and DC preserved as a museum, perhaps, and its denizens scattered throughout the country, with the president located somewhere alongside the Mighty Mississippi, the House somewhere on the longitude of maybe Orlando, the Senate somewhere on the longitude of maybe Phoenix, and the Supreme Court out in Hawaii. The judges out there already think that part has happened, so fuck them, too.

The executive departments that don't get dismantled should be spread as widely as possible, with no more than one per state, the New England states counting together as one, and Delaware, Maryland, and Jersey counting as one. Furthermore, no two departments may have headquarters in adjoining states not be in cities closer than 200 miles apart.

Lobbying should be forbidden, and tax returns and complete family financial records should be not just publicly available, but prominently available on a public website explicitly for that information. This bullshit of Senators and Representatives entering government employment ("service" = nonsense, it's a well-paying job) from the middle-class and retiring as multimillionaires has got to stop. As does the idea of exempting themselves from the laws they pass.

Were it wise, which we know it is not, Behemoth would decentralize itself before the rubes vivisect it with all too much glee.

Those numbers are, comparatively, very high. They're equal to San Francisco or Orange counties in CA. What's going on there?

An infected came down from Atlanta. He went to 2 huge funerals. He went to a huge murder trial. He spread it everywhere. It exploded after that. Then people ignored the warnings from public officials and continued with huge gathering, church, and other stuff. The governor called the city council last Friday night and chewed them out on speaker phone. They issued a lockdown after that. They don't have the resources to enforce it though so it's bad down there.

431 So....what does everybody think about New York?

Seriously, when I read how NY'ers flee to Florida and elsewhere instead of hunkering down, I knew it was going to be bad.

When I was younger the 2nd biggest industry in NYC was printing. Now it is (or was) brunch. Somehow my hometown became infiltrated by poseurs, wet smacks, eurotrash, dillettantes, and weirdos. We used to be able to handle 'em. (In the 60's construction workers beat up hippies burning flags). Somewhere along the way we reached a tipping point and here we are.

I'm hunkering down and keeping my distance. We've got the equivalent of the Manhattan Project working on creating a vaccine or something. Good thing I'm a recluse.

One bit of schadenfreud - the luxury high rise developers are taking it in the shorts.

432 I was a cadet at West Point in the waning days of the 1970s.
New York City was a shithole then and I never had a desire to visit it the entire time I was at Woops. (Well, I did beta test a wargame [] at Simulation Publications Incorporated with a classmate once.)
My wife and I visited in early 2002; the city was set up to fleece the rubes that showed up to see the effects of 9/11. Fuck 'em.
