What was the basis of this court decision. We can't tell from the article. It says the court temporarily halted it, and then said this is the controversy and what each side says.

But did the court say it was unconstitutional? Or did they just say we are the court how does our ass taste? We don't know.

89 @26

The stop and frisk policy which was put in by Giulianni not Midget Mike, saved thousands of lives, the vast overwhelming majority of them black lives.

So when it comes to valuing black lives and treating them like they matter, Giullinai and his aggressive policing, no joke probably saved 10k black lives.

And if you want to extend that to other cities which adopted these policies, probably saved 100s of thousands of lives.

Because people have forgotten that in the bad old days, big cities used to have murders that numbered in the thousands, now big cities average murders in the low to mid hundreds.

So when people talk down aggressive policing what they are saying is that they would rather have black people die and live in misery in order to further their own nefarious agendas.

The internal polls have Biden winning PA easily. He is the hardest to beat. They'd just hide him away for six months and bring him out for selected, highly scripted events. Bernie, on the other hand would scare off suburban women with his radical agenda. Nobody would be scared of Biden's policies.

167 > Because when he does, the DNC will come and polish his campaign and give him a full make-over.

The worst-case scenario would be that something, God forbid, happened to Trump (the guy is 73, after all, and we all know that he has no shortage of unhinged enemies).

The GOPe would then replace him with Yeb! or Paul Motherfucking Ryan or Schitt Romney or some such cuck, who would then proceed to throw the election. Again.

Result: President Communist.

That is why I think voting for Bernie is too clever by half. If you simply must cast a "strategic vote" in the Dem primary, you should probably vote for the least objectionable candidate rather than the most. Then if the worst happens and that person wins, you'll still be able to look at yourself in the mirror.

188 The problems for the GOPe nominating somebody awful (i.e., Jeb), if Trump were to die, are rather daunting:

1) The GOP delegates will mostly be chosen already-- unless POTUS succumbs to the beer virus real fast, i.e., within the nest 2 weeks. These are Trump delegates! Why TF would Trump-pledged delegates nominate some l'il GOPe darlin'?

2) If the beer virus gets our Prexy AFTER he's nominated, but before the GE, Pence would simply be moving' on up to that dee-lux mansion in D.C. Pence would select his own running mate.

And so, I don't worry much about the GOPe working its evil ways this year.

Probably. We were there about 6 months, thru Christmas.

I made a friend there and we decided we were going to gather and sell mistletoe for Christmas. Once we were down by the river, I don't remember which one, and my buddy climbed out on a tree that was overhanging the river. He got about halfway up and CRACK the whole tree broke in half and he fell into the nearly frozen river and started getting washed downstream. There was a pretty good current. I ran downstream a little bit to where I could grab him and pull him up the bank. Thus ended our planned entrepreneurship.

All those secret weapons were folly. They needed more fighter pilots, STG IIIs, PKWw Vs and a fighting retreat by the Wehrmacht.

Posted by: runner at February 29, 2020 07:56 AM (zr5Kq)

Yep, and it's sad many of those girls won't even talk to a dude who is in a trade school and is highly likely to be making 60-80k immediately following graduation. Nope, they'd rather date Mr. Feminist from their BS gender studies class who graduates with the degree, but then ends up working at Starbucks. Now, if they're looking for the guy whose goal is to work at a top 5 law firm and make partner, then yeah, I believe credentialism plays a role there.

Do I think I could have ended up where I am if I had graduated from a state school instead of a little-Ivy degree? Absolutely.

Op Chaos sounds like a good idea in theory not sure that it is effective. Original Op Chaos was Rush trying to get Hillary in over Obama.

I would think the current goal of an Op Chaos would be to ensure that no candidate reaches the end of the race with an outright majority of delegates. Having 3 or 4 over 15% candidates will do that. So my thought is whoever is in 3d or 4th in your state.

But then what? Suppose that means a second ballot selection of a candidate, and wiser heads are actually wiser and pick a better candidate?

This is why I don't buy into so many of the "it's all a sinister plan" type theories.

People are stupid. Stupidity is infinite.

Yet stupid people often thing they're really smart, and will act like they meant to do whatever is going on.

The fatal weakness of the left - which is now coming out - is that they have no idea what their future looks like. It can't be both feminist AND trans. Extinction Rebellion assumes people give a damn about children, but the left wants them dead anyway.

It's just a decadent temper tantrum.

If Bernie gets robbed, their interests will be contrary to the party and they will be very, very pissed off.

The point is: The Water Heater accumulates a lot of sediment and it collect into a big pile at the bottom.
Eventually, that stuff makes it way into the hot water pipes.

Depending on what the water is like, and how it is treated, mineral sediment can develop fast or slow.

Posted by: Ghost of Lee Atwater at February 29, 2020 08:46 AM (dc7yC)

In fact, yes it is. The original Aggie joke.

back around the turn of the 20th century, the State of Texas had been willed the rights to hundreds of thousands of acres in far West Texas, very arid, thought to be worthless. This was in turn given to the University systems that were being set up at the time. The A&M regents didn't think it had value, so they didn't want it and thought they had done well by making the UT system take all of those assets.

Then oil was discovered in West Texas. Those rights have turned into tens of billions of dollars, and they are still producing today. that's where the bulk of UT's endowment comes from.

and it could have belonged to the Aggies, and they turned it down.

Does anyone else have anxiety dreams? Basically just nightmares, but they leave you awash in all the bad physical effects from stress. You feel tired and frightened and worn down...from sleeping. Then you have to get up and deal with all the real-life stressors.

And as for student loans, I paid for my tuition at a state university with scholarships and work. Graduated college with a good job, $10k in the bank, a new car (a Honda Civic, nothing fancy for me), and no debt except the car loan. This was not the result of "luck" but rather hard work, and boy, does it piss me off when I'm told I owe my success to "privilege".
