Awwwwww — ONT WTF (@OntWtf) February 29, 2020 Chi-na China's Government Is Like Something out of '1984' Everybody already knows this, which is one of the reason Coronavirus conspiracy theories are so popular. No matter how outlandish they are, if you're honest you can say “Y'know, I can see that”. Related: I stopped by the Asian market today (H Mart, which is Korean, not Chinese, but it's the best place in town to buy produce-most choices, best prices. They also sell bul-go-gi meat (thin sliced ribeye) which is great not just for Korean BBQ but also for stuff like cheese steak subs and ramen soup. I always have a couple of pounds around, frozen into 4 oz serving portions. Check it out if you have one in your town) and noticed that some – maybe 30% - of the Asian folks there were wearing masks. I don't know where they were from, it's hard to tell when they're masked. The Japanese guy running the sushi stand wasn't, and the Chinese lady running another stand had her mask draped over her ears and under her chin, but it was still the first example of any signifigant number of masked people in public that I've seen. The crazy thing is that nobody I saw was wearing a N95 mask, there were just cloth masks, many gaping open at the sides, so I had to wonder just what was the point? People do all kinds of crazy stuff, however. I also think that we're very, very lucky the DNC is so corrupt. Youth In Asia Always Say Die The left is obsessed with the state murdering people - babies, adults, seniors, anyone, really – in the name of the “greater good”, yet I'm somehow the “violent extremist” for rightly condemning these practices as evil. Apropos of the non-pot brownies: classic tale of a guy in Omaha who accidentally ate some pot-laced brownies left by his adult offspring in the back seat of his car. He found them while he was unloading groceries, was hungry, ate about four, then started to feel "bad anxiety." Guy couldn't get ahold of the kids, began to feel really bad, so his wife called 9-1-1. Cops arrive and find the guy crawling around on the floor, using bad language and referring to the family cat as "a bitch."

The other morning I was falling towards a scary, lonely and hopeless place so I called upon the Horde for prayers and companionship. I have felt their presence and I cannot tell you all what it means to me.
Some sort of infection on the respiratory system, as yet unknown, had worked its ways to drive down my oxygen level to disorienting levels. Some good news, flu tests negative, pneumonia negative, corona negative. I go back Monday for more work to see if they can find the cause if I don't end up in the ER before then. Typing and writing has tired me out, so I just want to thank those who have reached to me, Bluebell, Hrothgar, AOP and VIA among others. Meh. Bernie and the other Democratic candidates share the same goals - they merely disagree on tactics. But, given how well Bernie is doing, the Operation Chaos move now is to support a non-Bernie candidate. I'd suggest Bloomberg - what we want is for Bernie to go to the convention with a plurality of the delegates, but not a majority, and then be screwed out of the nomination, since that will destroy the Democratic Party. Bloomberg is in the race to the end, and the Bernie Bros and Bernie hate Bloomberg with the heat of a thousand suns. oh, that question was like Do you think the value (price) of a product should be based on the amount of labor that went into it.
Basically implies everything should be priced on same per hour rate, rather than on what the market dictates. So I spend 20 hours knitting a scarf, my scarf should be worth the same as a program a code monkey spent 10 hours on. Regardless of how well made scarf or program is, and whether anyone wants to buy item. Posted by: vmom 2020 v22 at February 28, 2020 10:25 PM (G546f) yeah, thats the one I screwed up. I wasn't sure what they meant. I was looking at it as the commies/freeshit army don't care how hard it is to produce, they want it free. If they worded it like "should a mechanic's repair bill from the untrained millennial bernie bro who pisses in your gas tank be equal to a bill from a highly trained dude with 40 years in the field" I would have gotten it. We used to gouge one of the stoners during senior year german class in high school. He'd smoke his pot at lunch and develop the munchies. We'd obliged his hunger by charging him outrageous prices for small bags of Doritos.

190 But, given how well Bernie is doing, the Operation Chaos move now is to support a non-Bernie candidate.
Posted by: The ARC of History! at February 28, 2020 10:33 PM (I2/tG) Funny, I had a relative ask me who I hoped would win the nomination, and I had to think about it. My hypothesis on the Bernie Bros calling for violence on the Project Veritas videos: Betsy, the one female Bernie supporter, was in earshot so the guys were trying to act tough to impress her. She pretended to be impressed because she felt she had to, but she was really thinking "God I hate these homos. I need to find a guy with a MAGA hat and an F-350 before my ovaries dry up."

On October 11, 2016, SABMiller sold its stake in MillerCoors for around US$12 billion after the company was acquired by Anheuser-Busch InBev, making Molson Coors the 100 percent owner of MillerCoors.[7] In effect, MillerCoors became the "U.S. business unit of Molson Coors."[8] In Canada, Molson Coors regained the right (from SABMiller) to make and market Miller Genuine Draft and Miller Lite.[4] Posted by: Sponge at February 28, 2020 10:59 PM (Zz0t1) 309

Sorry,
Can't seem to get a clean copy of the Coronavirus COVID-19 Global Cases by Johns Hopkins CSSE, but if you type this in, you get a twice daily update of active cases world wide with maps and localized infections. The lower right hand corner with Actual, Logarithmic, and Daily Cases shows when the Chi Coms had to fess up in early Feb that they had been "caught" under-reporting hence the "Cat is out of the bag" spike. Now, earlier y'all were asking about my knee, when I had to go. My trouble is dubbed flexion contracture, and anyone interested can read the details. Basically, because of the joint destruction, I lost range of motion (both knees), with the left being the worst. I couldn't extend the knee fully, and couldn't flex it all the way going the other way either. If you don't use it, you lose it, and my muscles and tendons adjusted to the shorter range of motion. Now that the bad joint is replaced, and I've got a good 'un on the left side, the goal is to overcome that flexion contracture and get my knee to fully extend (as well as fully flex the other way). 0 degree is taken as the straight knee position, and full flexion goes past 90 degrees a good ways. After the surgery, extension could only reach a minimum of 10 degrees, and that was painful. I forget what the max flexion was, but I'm doing pretty good on that, so it's not a concern. After a little over a week of PT, we've got the extension to 6 degrees. My hamstrings are extremely tight, and it's going to take a lot of working to get to 0. We may not get there, but they're going to try to get as close as possible. The muscles have to be stretched as well as the tendons. My asshole dog will come(recall) very well inside. Outside is a different story. On a long lead he will recall reluctantly off lead not at all. One of Marx's bullshit theories was the 'labor
theory of value.' That the man hours you put in to creating something dictated your compensation, not whether or not anyone wanted it. I could spend 100 hours polishing a dog turd, but I am unlikely to get two and a half weeks pay for it, even at minimum wage. Posted by: Reactor Axe Man at February 28, 2020 10:23 PM (Hrs6r) That and the theory that any voluntary exchange that results in a profit in any way is in itself exploitation. C'mon, why should I trade my stuff for any other stuff if it isn't worth my time? And why should any one trade me back if there isn't a profit in it for them too? If we both profit, are we both exploiters? Is exploitation the cost of getting stuff I want? Also, Marx' classes are legal definitions dependent on the state, not social classes. I once took a wasp between the side of my helmet and my head. It was interesting.
I've taken any number of stings on the inside of one thigh or another. Bug smacks into jacket (I always wear leather) , falls stunned, and undetected into the crevice between leg and tank. Sooner or later, the bug comes to and , *bang*, ow ow ow ow! Once when he was riding pylon with me, my son, who was about 12 at the time, took a wasp up the sleeve of his leather jacket. I was so proud of him for not panicking and causing a crash. He screamed "There's a bee in my jacket!", and fortunately we were at a place where I could pull right over so he could whip it off. I don't know if this works with anything but borzois. Ignore the dog and direct all your attention to a spot on the ground. Act like there's something fascinating there. The dog will normally come over to investigate.
Standard training is to work with them on lead until rock solid, then increase the distance. Some folks use fishing line instead of a lead, to keep them under control. Posted by: Notsothoreau at February 28, 2020 11:47 PM (Lqy/e) 479

They would only adopt her out to someone who had a fenced in yard, which I have. I think they pretty much accepted that she could not be trusted off leash, and they were experienced dog people. If I need to get her back in quickly form the fenced in yard I let her out with the leash on, so that I can catch her. I've just accepted it, as the rescue people did. two lane roads in Illinois, with 6 foot high cornfields on both sides, and seeing ahead of me, birds darting out of the corn on one side crossing to the other. I scored 13% and am rated not communist.
But I'm also not exactly a capitalist. For instance I think Michael Hudson has a point about contractual debts eventually leading to oligarchy. So I voted with the statists on a few issues. One interesting point is that although I don't think the working classes have solidarity across borders... I think the transnational elites DO. I could walk across an open field and she'd do the 'invisible leash' thing, a fifteen-twenty foot diameter circle around me. Run ahead, sniff around while I kept walking past her, then she'd trot to catch up. I never had to put a leash on her, even though she was quite good with the leash, too, never pulling and staying right by my side. But I was a kid and spent a lot of time with her, building up her trust. I always said she didn't run away because she knew where her food came from. Local testing has (finally) started. You are going to start seeing public schools close down sporadically up and down the west coast first, and then probably in TX, with elsewhere following. If this is managed properly, hopefully the worst we will see are a bunch of closures like that, cancelled events, some companies shut down for a few weeks, and hospitals here and there having to put up tents in their parking lots. And some extra fatalities of the sort we normally see from flu. Posted by: there are only three star wars films at February 29, 2020 12:26 AM (67XdO) 555

Can someone explain a wealth tax to me? What do you do, go into each room in your house, open your closets and drawers, and start estimating the value of your stuff? What's in your garage, your attic? And what about investment portfolios? Do you pick a day when the Dow plunges and use that number, or do you use your birthday, or is it December 31? Really, how would a wealth tax work? Posted by: Blonde Morticia at February 29, 2020 03:15 AM (G51Gf) 634

I'm a 1% Commie.
The test is wrong. It claims that if I don't totally disagree that artists shouldn't have private property and "Copyrights", that I have some Communist beliefs. So if you believe in Communism, you believe they should COMPLETELY AGREE they should not have Copyrights If you are NOT a Commie, you say that you COMPLETELY DISAGREE. The problem is: Copyrights are enforced by government, and the idea that people should be forced to pay artists for mimicking or copying versions and art forms is Communist in itself. It is based on a central enforcement mechanism for "property" that is in the public domain. There are innumerable examples of how Communism monopolizes basic industries and ideas - heck, Communism itself basically "Copyrights" all industries. So the test is flawed. A true non-Communist would say that artists definitely have the right to their private property, BUT they do NOT have the right to Copyrights - aka, they do not have the right to expect the government to enforce your right to get paid. RE "what was the point?" of the masks: the main benefit of the mask is not that it's going to screen out the virus, but that it will prevent you from absentmindedly touching your mouth after handling a doorknob or something. My wife just sent a box of 40 dusk masks from Home Depot over to her family in China. They're a lot cheaper than the so-called "surgical" masks you can buy in packs of 3 in the pharmacy. We also sent lots of cheap safety glasses for the same reason -- keeps you from touching your eyes without thinking.
