Today actually is week 4 to the day after surgery. I got clearance to fly 2 weeks after surgery by the surgeon and doing ok minus getting my system to do something that resembles a schedule.. Other than that minor issue doing ok.
I had 6 incisions and they are still sore.

My sister Is practically hysterical about this. As you would expect. The detective says they are investigating this as a homicide but, I just heard that he had been prescribed antidepressants that were "messing with his mind".
It seems maybe "best case scenario" is that he didn't take his wife and girls with him when it all got to be too much and we should be thankful for that. But why it would be that terrible for him is a mystery.

Some lady wearing a hijab T-boned another lady and me this afternoon while I was on my way to pick up my daughter from school.
So pissed. Totaled my car, she ran a red at about 60 mph, hit the other lady, went airborne and smashed into mine. She ended up flipped over. I can't believe we all walked away in this.
The other lady she hit first is the mom of one of my daughter's classmates, so we know each other. Counting our blessing we weren't seriously hurt, but now I have to go thru all the bs of insurance, rental cars, finding a new car, not to mention feeling all stiff for days.
tl,dr: bitch nearly killed me.

China had 41 confirmed cases on January 24th IICR correctly without looking it up. There is no reason to not be informed and to not to prepare for the worst for this thing. That said getting your main source of info from the MSM in this and all situations is a terrible idea.
Also, We have only tested 445 people because the tests are expensive as fuck and each test has brings back a false negative of 50% to 70% of the time.

Trump knows by gut-instinct that if he gets tough with the anti-coronavirus measures, like recommending school closures and the like, the country will go into total chaos within hours, since everyone under 45 in the US is totally risk-averse. (Think about how the soccer moms will behave - they'll be shooting each other at Kroger for the last loaf of bread, and at Walgreens for the last bottle of Nyquil.)
There are no indications now that tough measures are needed to prevent a lot of coronavirus deaths in the US.

The seasonal flu has an R0 of 1.28. Kung Flu has a peer reviewed R0 of 4.7-6.8. The seasonal flu doesn't send 20% of who catch it to the ICU or needing the ICU, it doesn't take dangerous and expensive HIV drugs to treat, it never caused 1/10 of teh global population to be on some kind of lockdown, it doesn't cause people to be welded shut in their homes and entire apartment buildings to be welded shut, it's not aerosol, it doesn't cause recovered patients to get reinfected at a 15% clip, it doesn't leave lesions on your balls causing infertility, and I could go on and on since I've been keeping up with this for over a month digging and researching myself, and not reacting to the MSM who all of a sudden is springing the news on people without giving all the facts and research and data to go over.
people in charge have more info than you and if you have been paying attention they have been giving you much of this info and data for over a month.

How to deal with the corona virus:
Especially since we have no trustworthy data from China, it is too early to draw any conclusions about the rate, severity, percentages, etc.
That said, no one should panic, but do not blow this off as a big nothing burger, either. Everyone should be prepared.
Even if this doesn't get out of control, there is always a chance that general public panic would mean short supply of food.
Regardless of the likelihood, there is some chance that you could be quarantined at home for an extended period.
You should always have enough food on hand to go a week or two in case of some unforeseen event.
For this potential event, you could need enough food and basic supplies for your household for at least 30 days. If you can't manage that, do what you can.
Stick to non-perishables. Don't get foods that you wouldn't normally eat. Get things that are easy to prepare in case you get sick.
Practice personal responsibility and be as prepared as possible and reasonable. When you are prepared, you will never have a reason to panic.

I knew I was living on the edge. I made sure that I had no long term commitments. I was VERY clear in all my relationships that this was for fun, and don't bet on anything long term.
I was also riding Crotch Rocket Motorcycles, jumping out of airplanes, drinking to excess, and doing just about anything I could for an adrenalin rush.
But I was not going to take anyone down with me.
It was also 1980, which was a VERY different world.

I had no clue at all and made what turned out to be the biggest mistake of my life. Of course, what's done is done and I had no way to know it would turn out how it did. I do wish I'd jumped out of some planes, rode some motorcycles and otherwise had some fun with life beforehand.

I have had a couple close relatives who almost did, but didn't, and another that tried but failed, and they agree that at that moment, they were not in their right minds, they were not even close to being able to think rationally, and agreed that at the point of decision felt a wild manic joy at the thought of it. Ok, so the girl is obsessed with YouTube videos about arts and crafts, and her thing of the day is flipbooks, so I had to crease and staple a bunch of the notebook paper together and get back to work and never think of it again.
Until she showed me the end product and made me laugh, and laugh hard. It was a cheerful, brightly colored flipbook of the death of the galaxy, as the sun swells and swallows up the inner planets, including ours. She explained this in her usual ebullient manner.
Then, she said her next one would be about what would happen if the outer planets were to vanish, and the Kuiper belt collapsed, pelting Earth to pieces with giant space rocks.
I f'in love it... she's going to make me a delightful, childish animation of multiple SMOD strikes.

And speaking of WWII, pretty sure I noticed today that my 6th grade teacher's spot is just a few feet away from that of a relative-kinda-by-marriage's husband's spot at the national cemetery here. Had never noticed it - but he's side by side with his wife, both were WWII vets (and until they died lived a few houses from where I live now).
Every time I visit that place I learn something.
Last time it was the fascinating name plates/probable stories of a few Japanese-surnamed guys with WWII service dates. One was 442 RCT (had "Go For Broke" on the name plate), other two were WWII years, NCOs in the Army, nothing more. Likely intel or interpreters.

In HS, our janitor had served in Viet Nam, big time. Marine recon, in from Tonkin til withdrawal. He would come give a presentation each year to juniors in Am Hist about that particular war.
When I was a junior though, he took a particular interest in my girlfriend, because she was Vietnamese, and from Saigon, and he wanted to know EVERYTHING about what was happening there. He'd always chase us down and ask her stuff.
Learned a lot just listening to them talk.

Ah, the mini-moon. It's orbit isn't stable and it will drop out after a few years. There've been several of these over the years.
You might be interested in "quasi-satellite" and "horseshoe orbits" (tadpole orbits, too). Earth has several of these, asteroids in these orbital configuration. A quasi-satellite appears to be circling the planet, but is not really. It is not gravitationally bound, just has a 1:1 resonance with the larger body.
Horseshoe orbits are variations on that.

Cooth recommended having deeper counters in the kitchen (an extra 3 1/2") and that sounds good to me. Probably granite. The contractor likes to do custom cabinetry, which sounds perfect. I want a 36" lazy susan like the one Publius' father did in their kitchen. Also a full-length pullout next to the fridge, for my spices and oils and stuff. No dining at the island, though, and I'm still thinking about how I want that to look. One level and big. Maybe 3' x 6' with storage drawers.

Yep, exactly. I figure the opening to the shower should be wide enough for a walker or wheelchair, and have a single panel about half the length. A heat lamp to compensate for the lack of an enclosure. Ease of cleaning is important, too. I want it to look nice, but don't want to waste money on fancy designer stuff.

I guess we'll need a custom storage cupboard for all of that, in the area where the shower is on the current plan. Linen cupboards aren't an ideal storage place. They're too deep.

Modern medicine means you're more likely to survive, assuming the number of cases isn't large enough to overwhelm the system. But unless they find a vaccine it doesn't really help with transmission.

Also, the virus never leaves the recovered. Some have been getting "reinfected" after recovering like herpes having flare ups or chickenpox turning into shingles. this goes back to the orignal studies out of germany, they said people were "recovered" after the first round of symptoms, but the viral load never ever left, it still showed up in poo.. no one has been found to have actual clear viral loads after they recover in ANY study. So if you catch it there is a chance you may have to remain on antivirals until a vaccine is discovered, mass produced, and distributed. You would also have to be isolated to keep from infecting others who don't have it.

School boards are specializing to get money and spend for more stuff.
The pros in the schools do their best to keep everything quiet. This is not just in the urban areas, where this is worst, but even in rural areas. Lots of example. Look at DC schools where everyone is college bound, even if you missed 5 months of schools.
Even in Montgomery County, the two irreconcilable goals are promote everyone regardless of standards and success on standardized testing.
