Mike Bloomberg Now Cribbing from Jeb! Bush's Playbook of Ultimate Victory

In 2016, wealth Establishment c**ks decided they'd really Connect With The Young People by doing some of that Twitter Snark but on a cutting-edge, ultramodern platform -- billboards.

jebbillboards

unhinged

Well, that effort to troll Trump with billboards went so well for Jeb! Bush and his C**kpaign Manager Mike Murphy that Mike Bloomberg has decided to commit his own Act of Love.

Here's how John Ekdahl greeted the billboards in 2016:

Should go about the same way now.

Oh wait -- Mike! is already going the same way as Jeb!

And you can't troll the Master Troll:

But Micro Mike isn't just buying billboards -- he's paying congenitally unfunny leftwing scolds to make memes for him:

Mike, I have an idea for you. I had to listen to *four* of your radio ads on my way home, so it is fresh in my mind, and these stupid billboards emphasize the point. Ready? Okay, here goes: tell me what you stand for. Use short, declarative sentences and active voice.

And no, trite phrases like, "we need to get it done against demagogues" and "we need to rally around our values as children of God" won't do it either.

Firm positions, precisely communicated. Go for it. You'll find it liberating.

100 Not that Asma Khalid would include the context of those allegedly scandalous Trump rally quotes, if she even got it, but Trump started with talking about his Apprentice show and then segued into how reality show producer Mark Burnett had said to him that this election was 100x better than all reality shows combined. Then Trump went on to describe the "cast" of this crazy, funny reality show campaign season, ending with, "but it's not a show, this is real." It was an effective way to both make the debate a big joke and then get own to the business of reviewing his real accomplishments and real goals.

272 Paid social media "influencers" are a byproduct of the digital age. But they are not supposed to mask themselves without some disclosure if they are known as reporters or journalists or editors. That is where the problem lies. And it is a very big problem because most people are too busy and too uninformed to catch the propaganda cues right in front of their faces.

Posted by: Gem at February 21, 2020 08:16 PM (65i3Q)

I don't know what cuddleduds are, but when I was much younger than 29, we would spray our jeans with that waterproofing stuff, buy a ski jacket and hit the slopes.

291 Wait a sec.

Bloomberg had $50 billion. But the turnout is only around 126 million votes. He only needs half of those to win. That 62 million votes. That's $800 bucks to buy every vote he needs.

$1,000 bucks for my vote Bloomie. I swear. A steal. just knock it off with the billboards and ads.

294 Seriously, that billboard cost $10 k.

I'll sell my vote for $10k.

the advantage of giving me the $10k rather than buying the billboard, is Bloomberg is assured of getting one vote via wasting $10k. I'd like to see the billboard accomplish that.

295 "Donald Trump eats his steak burnt - Mike Bloomberg eats his steak medium well" is a bit condescending and snobbish. There are probably more people that eat there steaks well done, medium well or medium than medium rare (the so-called proper way) and Trump likes catsup on his, which probably has Bloomberg clutching his pearls.

300 Whatever bad you want to say about Trump, he has a clear and easy to understand agenda.

What did McCain offer in 2008? Another MidEast war?

Romney in 2012? A donor class whore that would only do 98% of what Obama would do?

Ideas and agendas really do matter way more than ad dollars. I will concede though money matters a great deal in down ticket races where things like name ID are an issue.

301 291 Inspector Kemp,
Funny post but ironically while the estimated fortune is 60+ billion, that is related to his stock price which if he sells, ironically will drop the value of the stock (more of it out there--potential change in control, etc.) A lot of times the wealthy can get into a liquidity crunch when they spend all of the liquid assets and need more. Not quite the same as a margin call but forced sale of illiquid assets usually trims quite a bit off the wealth.
