Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Recidivist Thief Brags on Camera That He Steals $200-$300 Per Day From White "Crackers," Boasts That NYC's New "Bail Reform" Means "You Can't Touch Me! I Can't Be Stopped!"I think we'll be seeing this guy's declarations that "The Democrats know me and the Republicans fear me!" in some Trump ads. Deb Heine writes in AmGreatness: "Bail reform, it's lit!" Charles Barry yelled to reporters last Thursday outside the NYPD Transit District 1 headquarters. Barry knew which party to thank for his good fortune, too. "It's the Democrats! The Democrats know me and the Republicans fear me. You can't touch me! I can't be stopped!" he cried.Stealing $200-$300 from "crackers" going to work like they're supposed to is not some "punk bullshit" crime. It's genuine crime. .. The new law prohibits criminal courts in the state from setting bail for most misdemeanors and nonviolent felonies, meaning petty criminals like Barry get promptly released from jail after each arrest. According to Fox News, the lifelong criminal has served several stints in state prison. His record includes "six felonies, 87 misdemeanors and 21 missed court hearings," according to court records.Guilty as hell, free as a bird. That's the Democrat Socialist way. Video report from Tucker Carlson. I hear more and more normies saying the words that should make the government white with panic: "Why are we even bothering to pay taxes?" And they don't mean that rhetorically. They're beginning to wonder what they're getting for their money, and wondering if they shouldn't #Cancel the US government. Once a critical mass of people decides to start protesting the government through refusal to pay taxes -- and a critical mass of citizens decides not to convict the people not paying taxes -- that's a rap for the Woke Phase of the United States Government. 91 I was reading recently about a judge that got around that stupid new bail law. There's apparently a law they left on the books that allowed the judge to side step the new law.
I'll see if I can find the article.... Posted by: Tami at February 20, 2020 05:24 PM (cF8AT) Here it is: A Brooklyn judge tapped a loophole in the state's controversial new bail reforms to send a serial burglar to jail. In a ruling published this week, Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice John Hecht used a provision that lets judges keep persistent felony offenders behind bars for up to 90 days to order prolific burglar Casey Knight locked up at the Otis Bantum Correctional Center in East Elmhurst. Knight, 51, who has seven prior convictions, had another burglary charge pending when he was released in December thanks to the bail reforms -- but was busted for allegedly pulling off three more heists last month. What eventually happens is that communities engage in 'vigilante' action and the police shrug. If a reporter shows up to report on street justice, they get a taste too. Eventually, it is swept under the rug--see Venezuela or Brazil in the favelas. This also occurs in inner cities in the U.S.
This guy is going to learn that the laws and the legal system are as much to protect the defendant as the society. In Canada you are seeing the logical outcome of the failure to use force against criminals. They will shut down the entire country. You also saw it in places like Baltimore where the police were reduced to walking scarecrows and in some cases were actually charged with enforcing the law against criminals. You have since seen an exodus from the Police force of experienced and highly qualified officers and a skyrocketing homicide rate in Baltimore. Meanwhile the former mayor is charged with corruption.
However, private citizens in red majority areas are armed in this country and more importantly there is a long history of self help and private justice. If this loud mouth braggart should harm the wrong person, he. may well regret his early release from jail. My total tax burden this year, when all of it is totaled (other than sales taxes - fed income, FICA, state income, etc. etc. etc.), is going to be right around 38%. Or in other words, Every day from the first of the year until May 18th or 19th is going to the state, not to me.
Many others are similar, with between 20% and 50% going to the state. The *only* reason this is possible is the most pernicious tax policy ever devices: the withholding. It should be abolished. If people had to cut that check every year, taxes would come down. They'd have to. Too many people would be totally unable to pay. Receipts would crash and the prisons wouldn't be able to hold them all. Taxes would have to come down or the state would get *nothing* without the withholding. Appalling. By California standards, this guy is a rank amateur. Here in the Golden State, you can steal up to $1,000, get caught red-handedmin the act holding the loot, and you won't even get arrested! Why not? Because our fabulous new Proposition 47 reclassified all theft under $1,000 as being a mere misdemeanor, here the cop hands you a ticket. You have to pay a fine or show up in court.
EXCEPT -- not paying the fine is also just a misdemeanor, and no one is ever prosecuted for not showing up in court, ever. So the end result is that stealing $1,000 or less in each instance is not really illegal anymore. You can steal $1,000 one minute, then pause for a few seconds, steal another $1,000, pause a few seconds, steal another $1,000, and rack up maybe $50,000 and hour. With no fear of punishment! Steal $200 from the cracker several times per day? Pshaw. Small-time. Posted by: zombie at February 20, 2020 05:41 PM (N9G0H) 178

Was recently reading a story about a guy that interviewed a real survivor of the Old West (Oklahoma before it was a state) back in the day if the movie westerns were accurate--e.g. like High Noon, etc.
The old survivor mentioned, no, any individual gunfighter wanting to be king or his posse were basically bushwacked by fair or foul means by citizens and disposed off via a dirt nap. Time for The Right to reconsider it's reflexive support for all things Law Enforcement. Who the hell do they work for anymore? Not for the law-abiding citizens. Not for the people who pay taxes. They're rapidly turning into professional mercenaries loyal only to the Democrat Party.

BTW, this is a side-effect of Northam's gun-grabbing in Virginia that should be scaring the hell out of the left. It has forced millions of habitually law-abiding citizens to contemplate non-compliance with bullshit laws. The examination of the justness of our laws has been so neglected since before anyone alive today was born, and the shit piled up in that dark corner cannot withstand even casual scrutiny.

+++++++++++++ Never mind the felony-level (even with the $1000 limit) vehicular crime. My company no longer permits car rental when us provincials go to the HQ. We self-insure like many megacorps and the bills were becoming ... significant. Rental cars are easy to spot because they have barcodes or fleet plates, etc. Vehicle burglary is so prevalent and we were losing so much money on car repairs and stolen equipment (laptops in particular) that they suspended car rental in the Bay Area unless you have a specific, prior exception from the correct boss. We take Uber or Lyft per company policy when visiting the home base. An Uber ride from SFO to Silicon Valley is *not* cheap - with roundtrips, driving to dinner, etc. it is far more than renting - but the total cost is lower because we aren't paying for all the vandalism and stolen equipment. And the police guidance we received is, "leave cars unlocked and remove all possessions when not in the vehicle so that damage and losses are minimized." The policy was effectively, "lie back and let it happen." Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at February 20, 2020 05:49 PM (I2dne) 223

The major issue with law enforcement is that local governments often use them to raise revenue via fines instead of keeping order.
Often the demand in a community is low property and sales taxes but higher spending and that community then resorts to revenue via fines and fees. Not a good tradeoff and it is better to levy general purpose spending on the community as a whole. But many supposed conservatives are often ok with things like asset forfeiture and excessive fines and fees because they believe fines and fees will not be aimed at them. That is deluded because the poor can't and won't pay them so the shortage of funds will be made up by going after John Q. Citizen that has something to lose if they do not cough up. Lesson is--don't fund your local government this way--you will lose your liberty rights AND your money. This issue goes back to King John and the Magna Carta btw and it is why the 8th Amendment codifies a prohibition of excessive bail and fines levied by authorities. And the police guidance we received is, "leave cars unlocked and remove all possessions when not in the vehicle so that damage and losses are minimized." The policy was effectively, "lie back and let it happen."
Posted by: Joe Mannix San Francisco is now auto-burglary capital of the USA. This fact doesn't get nearly as much publicity as the poo on the sidewalks, but it's actually just about the #1 thing that degrades the quality of life here. if you leave ANYTHING in ANY car in ANY neighborhood wand walk away, when you return the window is pretty much guarantee to be broken and the thing (whatever it was) stolen. It's like a universal status quo. Parked car = broken window. People call it an "epidemic," but it's more than that. It's just the way things are now. In my experience, Law Enforcement is primarily concerned with the Bottom Line.
If you look like you can pay the fines, they'll take the tie to harass you and maybe enforce the laws. If you are dirt poor, they will make excuses not to do their job. Fish and Game Departments are the worst offenders, here. Posted by: garrett at February 20, 2020 05:56 PM (ROwyL) +++++++++++ Layer in sanctuary policies and the problem magnifies several fold. CO has aggressive traffic enforcement. Really aggressive. Don't speed here. Don't miss a turn signal. Drive like a nun. But enforcement is very asymmetrical. If you don't speak with an accent, you get the book thrown at you. There is no such thing as a "warning." You get the bill. Period. If you do speak with an accent, you might be an illegal and illegals are a protected class. In that case, you get to drive off with no consequence. If you're drunk, they may put you in the tank overnight and then let you go with no paperwork. It's incredibly fucked up. Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at February 20, 2020 05:58 PM (I2dne) 286
