I think we'll be seeing this guy's declarations that "The Democrats know me and the Republicans fear me!" in some Trump ads.

"Bail reform, it's lit!" Charles Barry yelled to reporters last Thursday outside the NYPD Transit District 1 headquarters. Barry knew which party to thank for his good fortune, too. "It's the Democrats! The Democrats know me and the Republicans fear me. You can't touch me! I can't be stopped!" he cried.

"I'm famous! I take $200, $300 a day of your money, cracker! You can't stop me!" he shouted to reporters. “It’s a great thing. It's a beautiful thing. They punk'ed people out for bull***t crimes."

Stealing $200-$300 from "crackers" going to work like they're supposed to is not some "punk bullshit" crime. It's genuine crime.

The new law prohibits criminal courts in the state from setting bail for most misdemeanors and nonviolent felonies, meaning petty criminals like Barry get promptly released from jail after each arrest.
According to Fox News, the lifelong criminal has served several stints in state prison. His record includes "six felonies, 87 misdemeanors and 21 missed court hearings," according to court records.

The *only* reason this is possible is the most pernicious tax policy ever devices: the withholding. It should be abolished.

If people had to cut that check every year, taxes would come down. They'd have to. Too many people would be totally unable to pay. Receipts would crash and the prisons wouldn't be able to hold them all. Taxes would have to come down or the state would get *nothing* without the withholding.

Appalling.

My company no longer permits car rental when us provincials go to the HQ. We self-insure like many megacorps and the bills were becoming ... significant. And the police guidance we received is, "leave cars unlocked and remove all possessions when not in the vehicle so that damage and losses are minimized." The policy was effectively, "lie back and let it happen."

San Francisco is now auto-burglary capital of the USA. This fact doesn't get nearly as much publicity as the poo on the sidewalks, but it's actually just about the #1 thing that degrades the quality of life here. if you leave ANYTHING in ANY car in ANY neighborhood wand walk away, when you return the window is pretty much guarantee to be broken and the thing (whatever it was) stolen. It's like a universal status quo. Parked car = broken window. People call it an "epidemic," but it's more than that. It's just the way things are now. Every third person on the street is a professional criminal.

Layer in sanctuary policies and the problem magnifies several fold.

CO has aggressive traffic enforcement. Really aggressive. Don't speed here. Don't miss a turn signal. Drive like a nun.

But enforcement is very asymmetrical. If you don't speak with an accent, you get the book thrown at you. There is no such thing as a "warning." You get the bill. Period. If you do speak with an accent, you might be an illegal and illegals are a protected class. In that case, you get to drive off with no consequence. If you're drunk, they may put you in the tank overnight and then let you go with no paperwork.

It's incredibly fucked up.

Section 8 housing wrecked it - basically investors will buy up homes and move crack heads in because the are guaranteed $800 a month from the state plus whatever they can charge the crackheads. So they are looking for cheap homes in small towns. Welfare recipients flood in and the town is ruined.

The whole thing is so corrupt that it has to eventually collapse. There's no justice or fairness in half of the people supporting a HUGE government that the majority of people paying for it think is wasting their money at best and using it against them at worst.
