The Quotes Of The Day

Quote I

"Last night on CNN, Bernie Sanders called me a political hack. “That’s exactly who the f--- I am! I am a political hack! I am not an ideologue. I am not a purist. He thinks it’s a pejorative. I kind of like it! At least I’m not a communist.” James Carville

Yet the dumb SOB will vote for him. F*ck off Serpent Head.

Quote II

There are accidental vegetarians in every country, but an abundance of food is required to convince people to go vegan. It is a status symbol for people who already enjoy status. Anyone with a bit of luck and ambition can win the rat race. It takes a special kind of hunger to win the rat race and then turn one’s nose up at cheese. Bill McMorris

Quote III

"Kansas City families can rest a little easier knowing that a company responsible for facilitating years of illegal trafficking of guns is no longer operating," "When firearm companies repeatedly ignore the law and facilitate gun trafficking they bring these sort of consequences on themselves." Alla Lefkowitz, an attorney

Death by a thousand cuts.

Quote IV

Well, Bloomberg must be the front-runner because liberals are calling him a racist,"

"Keep booing. That’s how you lost the last election," Bill Maher

Quote V

“Our family’s hope is that her death was not in vain, and that preventative measures are put into place to ensure that nothing like this ever happens to anyone ever again. The tragedy in all of this is that is could have been avoided had there been no sanctuary law. The tragedy is my grandmother is never going to be here again.” Daria Ortiz

Quote VI

“NASCAR fans never forget that no matter who wins the race, what matters most is God, family, country,POTUS Donald J. Trump

Somedays I wish I was back on Twitter. I would love to rub their noses in this shit.

Lawrence O'Donnell is such a douche.

The things one learns while perusing through the news for ONT content. Huh, I didn't know that.

As America's craft beer industry continues to boom, the waste it generates can pose challenges for sewer systems. But if it's used in the right spot, in the right amount, it's potentially beneficial and can actually save wastewater treatment plants money.

In Bozeman, Mont., the Water Reclamation Facility treats more than 6 million gallons of water every day from sinks, showers, toilets — really anything that goes down a drain. That includes liquid waste from more than 10 breweries in this city of nearly 50,000.

Because it's rich in yeast, hops and sugar, brewery waste can throw off the microbes that wastewater treatment plants rely on to remove nitrogen and phosphorus. The two nutrients can cause algae blooms in rivers and kill off fish.

"But if we can use [brewery waste] correctly and put it in the right spot, it's very beneficial to the process," engineering consultant Coralynn Revis says.

You think that a luxury vehicle, could hold its engine. Think again.

Leading police on a high-speed pursuit through a residential neighborhood is, by all accounts, not advised. They're almost definitely going to catch up, and you put everyone around you at risk of injury or death if you decide to high-step away from Johnny Law—doubly so if you're under the influence. One Jaguar XE driver found this out first-hand near Baton Rouge, Louisiana when they ran into a ditch, ejecting them out of the vehicle and unbelievably sending the car's engine flying through the front door of a nearby apartment.

Engine 913 of the East Side Fire Department rushed to the scene after receiving a call from law enforcement, only to find what was left of the runaway Jag. The British sedan struck a series of trees before coming to a rest in the ditch, which is reportedly what sent the driver—and the four-cylinder—flying. Emergency services rushed the perp to hospital in critical condition.

Richard Nunez of Austin Texas, is a party animal. Wow.

AUSTIN, Texas - Police have arrested and charged a man with a DWI after he failed multiple sobriety tests, according to court documents.

Around 9 p.m. on January 11, police responded to a welfare check on a suspect vehicle that was reported to be driving erratically at the 2000 block of Manor Road.

According to court documents, officers searched Nunez's vehicle and found a wet cigarette with a strong chemical odor. Police determined that the suspect was under the influence of a "Dissociative Anesthetic" and could not operate a vehicle safely.

Nunez later admitted in jail that he had used a cigarette to smoke embalming fluid. The cigarette was submitted for lab testing and came back positive for Phencyclidine.

Nunez was also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Shocked. Shocked I say. Dirty politics in San Francisco, say it isn't so.

The industrial war complex is composed of folks from the left and right. Instead of promoting wars in Syria, our national defense involving Ukraine, NATO duties, take care of our veterans who are here! Now!

Veteran: The US Military has been involved in a number of actions over the years, none so controversial, or as long lasting as the Vietnam War, which began in 1955 and rumbled on for twenty years until 1975.

During that time more than 58,000 American service personnel gave their lives in service to their country.

It is a big number, but it has come to light following a report by the US Dept of Veteran Affairs that, between 2008 and 2017, more than 60,000 American military veterans took their own lives.

60,000 was the population of the town I grew up in as a child. Shocking.

Dusty Baker of The Houston Astros.

The Houston Astros cheating scandal is the story that keeps on giving. Following a week where the team issued what were widely deemed as insufficient apologies for their sign-stealing scheme during their run to the 2017 World Series title, new manager Dusty Baker has issued a plea to Major League Baseball. Simply put, he wants the league to protect his players from potential retaliation from pitchers who believe the Astros have not shown enough remorse for their misdeeds.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday at Houston’s camp in West Palm Beach, Baker admonished the seemingly “premeditated” nature of threats from players around the league to get one back on the Astros during games:

Put on your big boy pants and STFU.

The ONT Musical Interlude

Jeff Buckley Grace (1994)

His musician-father Tim Buckley died at the height of his fame from an alcohol/heroin overdose. Jeff, apparently straight for most of his early career, was drinking and getting high regularly during the recording of this grittily opulent album, his second. Buckley’s multi-octave voice and tortured delivery sound like a mix between Robert Plant and Anthony and the Johnsons in a hot tub full of tequila. Buckley drowned after jumping into the Wolf River for a swim fully clothed and wearing work boots. There is much speculation as to whether it was intentional or not, but the beauty of these songs is unquestioned. Via rate yourmusic.com

Piss on it takes on a whole new meaning. Genius Award Winner.

Meet David Marcel-Lewis Johnson.

The 26-year-old Michigan resident was arrested early Friday after relieving himself on the bumper of a marked police car, according to Florida cops who captured him mid-stream.

Police say that Johnson was in downtown St. Petersburg around 1 AM when he was observed “approaching a sergeant’s police vehicle.” He then “removed his penis from the front of his pants, and urinated on the rear bumper of the vehicle.

Five year old Noah Woods has grit. Tonight's Feel Good Story of The Day.

Noah Woods woke up to find his bedroom on fire, but he didn't panic.

He jumped out of bed, grabbed his 2-year-old sister and got out of the house through his bedroom window.

But Noah didn't stop there.

He went back in to get the family dog and pulled it to safety. Then he ran next door and woke up his uncle to alert the rest of the family.

"We've seen children alert their families before," Bartow County Fire Department Chief Dwayne Jamison told CNN. "But for a 5-year-old to be alert enough to do this ... that's pretty extraordinary."

41 Titiana McGrath is the twitter persona invented and written by Andrew Doyle.
Titiana is an intersectional feminist and a Slam poet and sees her oppression everywhere.

She was featured in an article by Quillette before Doyle was doxxed, where she spoke about her temporary suspension from Twitter as her "Nelson Mandela moment" and has spent the last couple of years being the most egregious social justice warrior without a clue.

her first book, Woke, has a chapter called "My Struggle"

The book (which I have never read) has a passage about how she was breastfed for the first 6 months of her life, and she felt this was abuse, as her mother should have known she was a vegan.

54 Good evening, Morons and 'Ettes!

I missed a couple if news stories a few days ago, and it something that makes me *furious.* I think that Trump needs to seriously reconsider the "Phase 1" China Trade Deal. Like "tear it up, throw it in the bin, and embargo China" reconsider it.

First up: Equifax. The Equifax breach, which you may remember involved disclosure of nearly *half* of Americans' SSN and financial records. Well, the DoJ (yes, grain of salt on that front) has identified four major Chinese players involved and has (or will) filed charges against them. They're officers in the Chinese military. No joke. Official damn state/military action from China, involving massive data dumps.

Next up: Huawei. They reportedly have the ability (and have for years, and have used it) to use those LEO interfaces to snoop on data, location, etc. at their arbitrary will. Interfaces that shouldn't even exist for *our* government and Huawei - which is essentially an arm of the CCP - uses them at will.

Tear it up and embargo them until they clean up their act and prove it. It will hurt. A lot. It will be borderline catastrophic for us, and state-ending for them (with G-d knows what desperate external actions they will take), but enough is enough. Bankrupt and starve them. No more trade. No more visas. Deport any non-citizen Chinese national. This has gone more than far enough to justify taking the gloves off.

82 Hi everyone. Hope you're having a good Sunday evening, and for those of you who are govt employees (including me), enjoy the holiday.

I think I've figured out how things work.

Friend, good friend, even best friend comes to you with a problem they have. You do your best to help them with this problem, You find solutions, look up solutions, and generally give them the help they need to solve their problem. And, viola, the problem ends up getting solved with your help.

If you have a problem, on the other hand, this is dismissed or ignored. And you're left alone to deal with this problem.

Please let me say this: their problems were definitely something, and they're thankful you helped them, and they remain friends. But--

In less depressing news, I've done a lot of animation work for the next project which, amazingly enough, has no inexplicable aliens doing incomprehensible things. It should be enjoyed by all.

(I have NO idea how to continue "Instruction." I'm sure I will at some point, but right now...}

PS: Sorry for the depressing rant, please ignore me. It's the safest path.

It would be hilarious to see Prop 65 warnings on job descriptions. In fact, if I were independently wealthy and in CA, I might do this as a nuisance lawsuit just to sow discord.

All workplaces are potentially cancer-causing and placarded under Prop 65 (every building in my company's CA headquarters campus has them sprinkled throughout). If I do not see a placard when going for an interview (which is likely) and then get a job, I would strongly consider launching a Prop 65 suit because they didn't inform me up front in the job posting that the workplace could cause cancer.

122 I have no idea who would win this time around. I am torn between "flip a coin" and just calling it for the French.

The French army is larger than the German at this point (117,000 active soldiers, 15,750 reservists for the French vs. 63,555 soldiers for the German). Advantage France, I'd think.

Then there is the Franco-German Brigade (Brigade Franco-Allemande; Deutsche-Franzoesische Brigade), which consists of about 2,000 soldiers from each country. It has the reputation of being the only military unit in the EU that is aggressive and rude at the same time.

184 140 A lot of craft beers are going for less that the alcoholic sparkling water that is so hot now.

Got into winemaking at home 7 or 8 years ago. From the best (A
cherry wine from tart cherries that was like dunking your entire head
into a bucket of fresh cherries) to the worst (Probably the dandelion
that tasted 'ok' but smelled like bad eggs while it fermented.

All of it gets consumed.

Posted by: Cicero Kaboom! Kid. at February 16, 2020 10:47 PM (Vy7tf)

I tried making beer at home but decided i was too much of a snob to like any beer I could make. I got into cider a long ways back (even before the gluten craze) and I decided to try to make it. Some batches have been great and others have been foul. That is the part that gets me. You get the wrong microbe flying into your blend and there will be trouble. I wold still do it again but so far it has been hit or miss.

Now you see commercial cideries and craf brewwers making 90 cal brews that are trying to replicate hard seltzer. Some of them are ok but it is obvious they are reacting to the market and not making what they want to make. You don't become a cider maker or craft brewer to make water.
Jim Cook of Sam Adams recently said his company's entire growth over the last couple years was based on Truly Seltzer. If not for alcoholic water, the company would not have grown at all.

Posted by: kbdabear at February 16, 2020 11:01 PM (qAR6u)

the only thing that allow this experiment to survive is when we realize their is not one culture, but many cultures. If certain people stopped trying to force their culture onto others, we would start getting back to a normal America.

I can see why some people from the inner city hate guns for example. I talked with a liberal ER doctor once and his only experience with guns was the people who came into his operating room. He was still a off the wall lefty who gave no quarter to other opinions, but I could see his point of view. It was myopic, but still real.

I could show this guy millions who love to hunt, protect their families, live according to the Constitution, and are not threat to anyone. But he would not allow it, it is not part of his world. This is why we need to follow the Constitution and stop trying to be triumphalist. A conservatives main job should be to be left in peace. The Left today has no interest in that and that is a problem. This place went pair shaped when too many Americans decided their primary enemies are fellow Americans.

Most of these people should sue their teachers and look side eyed at their parents.

238 Ahhh feeling anxious about the stupid coronavirus again

There was an article in Watts Up With That on coronavirus that was somewhat hopeful.

The bad news:

1) It's quite infectious.
2) Three-quarters of the cases are mild - in the other quarter of cases, it turns into viral pneumonia, with a high associated death rate.

The good news:

1) Fourteen-day quarantines really do work. (Whether we have the political will to impose fourteen-day quarantines if the virus gets established here is another question.)

2) You can treat serious cases with an antivirals drug, remdesivir. The guy who got coronavirus in Seattle, after visiting China, went into the viral pneumonia stage, and the pneumonia cleared up in twenty-four hours after he started getting remdesivir.

So good news and bad news, but more good than bad.

But Jaguar was a luxury make, whose inline sixes and V12's were legendary. Huge degradation in perceived value, even if it is an exceptionally good 4-banger.

My parents moved recently and there was an old copy of "Allure" magazine from 2013 left behind in the built-in magazine rack by the toilet. I always have a dream that I have a kid and that I have to change the diaper. I'm trying to give the kid away because I want to keep playing tennis. It's really bad.

I kept three, out of all the models. Well four I guess. Or five. And some chassis. I have a nice export dual voltage 8G005, and two 7G605 "bombers", and a solid state 7000. One of the 7G605 models is pristine, with original factory tubes, battery, owners manual, tags, etc. I don't believe it was ever used. There's got to be a story behind that one, because radios were in high demand and that particular model cost $70 in 1942, a pretty good chunk of change.

60,000÷9yrs=6,666/yr
Roughly 20,000,000 vets ÷ 6,666 = .00003

317 AOP, the TOs are AC/DC radios through and through. They were designed around battery operation, but they work fine.

The 1L6 is neither rare nor even fragile. The battery tubes (loctals like 1LA6 and later 9 pin were designed around military requirements. They aren't even particularly expensive, unless you insist on NOS boxed. It's entirely a made up internet lore thing, constantly told and retold over and over, by people who don't even own them.

As an experiment I ran one recapped set for over 2 years straight 24/7 on line voltage till I got bored with the experiment. The tubes lasted about another 10 years of regular use. They were designed to be used with varying voltages and rough service. They care not a whit about overvoltage. In fact trying to "baby" the filaments will like as not cause the oscillator to drop out completely. Just recap the power supply, and the wax capacitors, and resistors, and they will last forever.

One thing that stands out in this article is that he is not trying to influence the Left, he is try to influence Christians. He makes his politics purely religious and he uses ONLY a religious test. Funny, I would think his liberal buddies would be offended by that. But of course they are not offended because French is only trying to dissuade conservatives and Christians. Who cares if he says the entire American Experiment is based on religion? He is only trying to tamp down Christian votes.

This guy French is a freaking joke. Only in this disjointed social media world would this guy ever be a thing. He has a right to his opinion. It is the same as some random guy regurgitating garbage at the local bar.

My friend's Pekinese is the exact opposite. If he sees a dog on tv, even if just a brief bit in a commercial, he thinks the dog is a threat and aggressively barks his head off. But not cats, birds, squirrels or any other animal, just dogs. Dogs on tv really gets his 'territorial instinct' dander up.

359 You guys are dog owners and have a lot more experience than have I. I am not unknown to pets as we had them when I was a kid. I just haven't had one personally in a long time.

I have heard many that say there is no good reason to get a pure bread from a whatever they call them. You should always go for a rescue, as they are in need and to rescue a dog in trouble is better.

That made sense to me but I read not long ago a different view. The poster said there are good reasons, particularly for a new pet owner to get a dog from a breeding farm or whatever they call them. Just like with guns, you have newbies buying their first gun and you have old school types who have been part of that world for half a century.

The argument was a lot of rescue dogs have lots of problems, that is often why their owner gave up on them. Just like we would not recommend a very high maintenance gun or car (like a Jag) to a newbie, it is often a bad idea to convince a new dog owner to go with a rescue.

I am not part of the pet world but i hear this is a serious area of disagreement. The argument for a getting a puppy is there are more chances to bond without so much baggage. It is easier for the new pet owner in many ways.

I hear others that think if you don't go for a rescue dog, that is a lesser choice.

I don't know about this and wonder what other people think. I haven't had a personal dog in decades but am thinking of getting one. I wish i new the website I read recently because they seemed particularly clear about the subject, they made good points for both choices.

One last thing. I have seen a lot of apartment dogs recently and have always felt bad for them. It is great that those owners have good dogs, but i have a sneaking suspicion those those dogs would be happier in the 'burbs or in the country.

It was just a lame, poorly executed piece of shit. A "C" grade was earned. No, you're right. It was an "F" and I was a sucker for paying for it. At least I only shelled out $6.50.

2. The breeder vs rescue is a crap shoot. you never know. you can get puppies from shelters, we have. We go with the shelter because they whack so many thousands of dogs wherever we have resided. the numbers are horrifying.

Prior to being Jimenez, they were Bryco, and prior to that, they were Jennings, also sued into bankruptcy.

I saw a bunch of Jimenez pistols at a gun show last year; they were clad in multi-colored plastic.

Prediction: Jimenez will go bankrupt as a result of this lawsuit, the paralyzed kid will get next to nothing, his lawyer will get a new yacht, and a former employee of Jiminez will buy all the tooling and stock on hand for half a million, and set up operation in Arizona or Utah under a new name. we had a guy in basic that looked like he could bench 300 easily. He probably could have done more as i don't know what the high end of benching is. He was built like the biggest spark plug in history. A good guy, with a good and earnest humor. He never made it out. He could not pass the run and every time he tried it was like he was dying.

Nothing wrong with getting a dog from a breeder. Most people have the concerns about puppymills. Where they leave the dogs in really shitty conditions and just keep having the bitches pumping out litters.

As for rescues, see the pet thread a few weeks back where we were discussing the pet rescues that act like you are adopting a child and want a full dive into your entire life's history to even consider letting you look at one of their dogs.

413 It's pretty easy to get male springer spaniels. People get them and can't handle them. It's so predictable on the Facebook springer groups. The puppy starts biting, or is a resource hoarder or barks or pulls on a lead. So they get rid of the dog.

I have two male rescues. I would not recommend either for someone inexperienced with dogs. It's a shame because they are amazing dogs.

425 I think what made Stargate such a great movie was the blend of actual
archaeological facts and a heavy dose of ancient astronaut theory. One
example is how Daniel couldn't understand the spoken language until the
chick taught him how to pronounce it. This would be true in real life.
Egyptian hieroglyphs are written without vowels, so nobody knows how it
actually sounded. A modern archaeologist could probably communicate
fairly easy with an ancient Egyptian through the written language, but
not the spoken one. They got that part pretty accurate. Then you got the bit about the egyptians not building the pyramids, which allowed them to really bring in the sci-fi. A modern archaeologist would be in the same deep shit as Daniel Jackson had he stepped through a stargate, but a hard line archaeologist might not have stepped through it, but somebody like jackson with a wee bit of alien astronaut leanings would without a second thought, which he did, and without much thought of how the hell to get back. I thought it was a good blend of different theories. What do archaeologists think, what if they're wrong, and on top of that, just what would the military do. I thought it was written pretty good.

That's really all they've got nowadays. Their policies have failed everywhere they've been tried.

Their biggest recent mistake was leading with "racist" rather than "misogynist" after Trump v. Skankles.

Trump won because he flipped six states in the Electoral College, all of which went for Gaylord twice.

But the reason they wouldn't vote for pasty-white Hillary? "Racism".

Direct engagement, perhaps, but there was a good deal of American support for the French. Lots of equipment, but Air America was active also.

"The U.S. military advisory effort in Vietnam had a modest beginning in September 1950, when the United States Military Assistance Advisory Group (MAAG), Vietnam, was established in Saigon. Its mission was to supervise the issuance and employment of $10 million of military equipment to support French legionnaires in their effort to combat Viet Minh forces. By 1953 the amount of U.S. military aid had jumped to over $350 million and was used to replace the badly worn World War II vintage equipment that France, still suffering economically from the devastation of that war, was still using."

Also Laos.

Like any dead language I would guess, including Latin. I learned one pronunciation for Latin, but the class one year ahead of me learned another.

I've always struggled with languages having verbs at the end of sentences. English sentence structure is subject noun, verb, object noun. But with the verb at the end, it's just very confusing to me. I could imagine speaking it would be just as difficult. I guess that's why Latin has so many 'catchphrases', they got tired of figuring out that verb conjugation shit, too.

Not only "still around" but climbing the quality ratings like a crack-addled Moron.

Outdoor range, and a discarded juice box is on the ground at about five yards.

Seven rounds later, and I've relocated that juice box out to the 18 yard marker. Told the owner "it's not the gun."

Their larger format guns for .380 and 9mm are champs. Cheap, and not "champs" for a full IDPA season of 10,000 rounds.

But Champs for the nightstand/door-side table/purse role, all the same.

Strong BUY recommendation.

519 I agree that the US was invovled in Vietnam prior to 1964. I once did a paper on Eisenhower and how he tried to help the French in Indochina or at least how he kept a keep eye on the area as a danger zone. I think He sent some SF types/advisors over there. He did more than that but that stands out.

A lot of people involved with history today hate the idea that wars have beginning dates and end dates. The argument they make are there are only "long wars". What they are doing is conflating battles among armies from nation states with "struggles" that they believe never end.

You see this with the Civil War today. It was a war from 1861-1865. But you have many "historians" that talk about "Long War" They conflate their political grievances with war itself. Some claim the Civil War started long before 1861 and some say it has never ended.

Words need to mean things if we are ever going to have a shared common history. Wars have to have a particular meaning or they will no longer have a meaning at all.
I don't doubt the US put advisors into Vietnam before 1964. And no doubt the last Americans left long after the war ended. But it comes down to the meaning of war itself.

Could not someone argue that the American Revolution did not end until 1812? They countries were still antagonistic until that point and long after.

I can't say for sure the date the Vietnam War started or ended. I can say it is funny that it called "controversial" by the people who made it controversial.

Some have had troubles though I believe they can always send it back for a fluff and buff. I have found that gun to be 100 percent reliable and one of the most technologically advanced weapons of its time. The thing basically weighs nothing, is as tiny as all get out, and if you know how to use it, it works.

i could see someone causing an FTF with a weak grip. I could also see the long trigger pull being something you need to get used to. But that weapon stands out over the decades as truly being an achievement.

I agree that the US was invovled in Vietnam prior to 1964. I once did a paper on Eisenhower and how he tried to help the French in Indochina or at least how he kept a keep eye on the area as a danger zone. I think He sent some SF types/advisors over there. He did more than that but that stands out.

There was a "Barney Miller" TV episode where Sergeant Dietrich said he got a merit badge in the Boy Scouts for writing such a paper during the Eisenhower administration.

537 Looks like time zones are taking down most people here.

Once had tea in the house of one of the first translators assigned to MAC-V (Military Assistance Commission - Vietnam), our big liaison operation during our big direct involvement. Ethnic Chinese. Modest house, Tanh Son Nhat, near the airport. He had quite the stories, had fled just ahead of the NVA in April '75, returned in the 90s, had a good business.

His photo book, with all the black/white pics of him with Amb. Bunker and other recognizable figures of the time, was great. In the back were the color photos of all the nice houses he owns and rents out to western expat corporate types. Whole cycle of history in one small photo album.

602 well a wadcuter will make you dead for sure. Even an empty casing will blow a hole threw paper with no round at all.

It is a cliche but it works. Never, ever put your finger on a trigger unless you are ready to kill. Forget safeties and all that jazz, that is just a part of the function of the gun. Never put your finger on a trigger unless you plan to destroy what you are aiming at.

You see in countless Hollyweird films the actors instinctively put their finger on the trigger. They are wrong and should be shamed for it.

i don't want to hear about safeties. Revolvers have no safeties. just like a Glock, don't pull the trigger and it wont go off 100 percent of the time.

parents should secure their weapons from children AND teach them proper firearms skills.

I realize people shoot blanks and empty loads in movies and reenactments. I really don't know that protocol their other than you should aim away from the other guy. I read once that reenactors banned ram rods because of the possibility someone would leave it in their weapon and shoot the rod at someone.

hey MLA. I told you I was relurking I guess I did so for a spell. It is hard to give it up whole cloth.

It is Washington's Birthday by the Federal Calendar. Are you off today?
A handful of states call it President's Day (spit), but at least as many celebrate Washington, Lincoln, or a combination of the two. A few good states like Texas made the mistake of proclaiming "presidents day". My guess is they wanted into the act and wanted to put an LBJ up there with Washington a Lincoln.
I know in my state the holiday is called George Washington Day. I know that federal holiday is called Washington's Birthday. The Left won on this one. I have seen state proclamations that say schools and libraries will be closed for Presidents Day when no holiday of that name exists.

This is a great example of when the masses are too dumb to know better and that people in charge or also dumb but still have an agenda. Everyone knows this as "presidents day" but that is NOT the national holiday and it is only a recognized holiday by no more than half the states.

I give up on this one. I petitioned my state to know the name of their own holiday and to know the name of the national holiday. They did not respond as they are are lemmings. Hell they likely laughed really. They love it when \they are so warped that they can laugh at a normal. They probably wonder why I care. Well, if they don't know the name of their OWN holiday, why should we trust them with anything. I didn't name the thing. Why are people so stupid as to not be able to check the national holiday register and the same for their states?
And isn't the the national holiday the real thing and the state bs is just local pandering? The federal holiday is still Columbus Day. So if some warped state or locality says it is Indigenous Peoples day, do we have to change our views because of a handful of weirdos?
I hope someone mentions the actual holiday tomorrow. It is not that hard. Anyone can check the federal holiday callender on the net.

I showed these people they are clueless and don't even know their own state. But they do not care, They have the culture, it was a bums rush.

If only i care about this that is fine. Not shaming others but i have said my piece on it. If others care, they will sound off. If not, it will be a great Presidents Day for us all. I was thinking of going full blast on the new threads. But I have done that for years. You guys aren't the audience anyway.

What kills me is most just go along with the commercials. People on tv say something enough and everyone believes it. How does that not differ from other political arguments?

yeah, that is a whole other thing. They decided a while back to make holidays on Monday so people could get a three day weekend.

I respect Washington and Lincoln. They should get their own holidays on their actual birthdays and people should be taught why it matters.

But what kills me the most abotu "president's day" is it is a fraud. it is mainly about selling mattresses. But when states call a holiday named for Washington "presidents day" they are either unworthy as they are so stupid, or they are complicent becuase they are liars. Again, they made the holidays, they are the state and federal holidays. How can anyone respect these crooks when they lie about their OWN holidays?
i challenged these people last year. They always pawn it off to the next guy. They don't want to honor Washington. That is the last this they want to do. They laugh that someone cares as most go along with the program.

To be clear, and just for an example. In a a state that celebrates Washintgon's Birthday and a nation that celebrates George Washington Day. They all put up signs, made by the state, that say "Closed for President's Day"

I was reading something yesterday along the same lines. That girls are now wary of sports because they can be competing with a trans. So why join a rigged game when there are so many other rigged games in the world. And the alternative is to protest and be known as the girl who is not nice to other quote unquote girls. So the choice is compete in unfair games and be a loser or just shrug your shoulders and play along to be the nice girl.

Very interesting that the Dem Party treat blacks as 2nd or 3rd class citizens that always need government help. How can they not see that the $$$ is tied to total obedience to the progressive agenda?

They don't care. They have been brain washed and they are happy to stay brain washed.

There is not a single solitary deleterious piece of legislation or action taken by the GOP that has ever harmed blacks individually or a group and yet, AND YET, the Democrats have been absolutely successful in unloading their historical sins onto the GOP.

Neat trick.

Amazing what full command of the media system can do. And for the last 30 years or so, the march through the institutions by leftists have cemented blacks' allegiance to the D party with a repetition of lies and constant, unrelenting brainwashing. same reason most call this president's day when it is not. There are ways ot trick people by repetition. I bet a lot of black people are sick of this tired game and want to try something new.

the funny thing is the Dems will not be trying to help anyone really. They will be trying to scare black people to stay on their side just one more time. They Dem party has been the corona virus of minorities and all people really. But give them one more time they will ask.

I have a friend (D) who told my husband the other day that he was seeing things-dogs on the roof, his dead mother. He knows that they're not really there I called him and said that my husband had told me and that I was worried "I think you need to go to the doctor" He flipped out and got angry at my husband for telling me this. Hey, we're all friends, We see each other every week. He says if I put this on the prayer list at church where we all go he wont be back, First of all, I'm not telling anybody else at church or anybody but FenelonSpouse and I wouldn't put him on the prayer list at church unless he asked and certainly not the reason.

What's that sporting event where the dogs chase a fake rabbit around the track? Always running their little hearts out knowing they're eventually going to catch it? Yeah...that.
