DOJ Official: The Mueller Four Lied to Us About What Their Sentencing Recommendation Would Be, Then "Shocked" Us With an "Extreme" Sentence

There already was suspicion that this is yet another coordinated Deep State/Media operation designed to gin up another Special Counsel investigation and/or another impeachment inquiry.

If these guys actually lied to their superiors about what they intended to drop on DC like a well-crafted Media Bomb, that would confirm the suspicion that this had all been worked out before hand.

Put these motherfuckers under oath and if they lie, send them to jail for 7-9 years each.

"The Department was shocked to see the sentencing recommendation in the filing in the Stone case last night," the DOJ official reportedly told Fox. "The sentencing recommendation was not what had been briefed to the Department."

"Lying" is another word for "insubordination" in this context, isn't it? Layering in the Weissman Team's other perfidy, I think it is also a synonym for "perfidy."

Reject their resignations. Fire them, cancel their pensions, comb through their histories and prosecute where possible. Turnabout is fair play.

31 Also, implement an across-the-board 17% pay cut. These credentialed guys aren't making out like bandits but a lot of their subordinates are.

From PJ Media:
The CBO "sought to account for differences in individuals' level of education, years of work experience, occupation, size of employer, geographic location, veteran status, and various demographic characteristics (age, sex, race, ethnicity, marital status, immigration status, and citizenship)." After all these things were taken into account, federal workers still received 17 percent more than their private sector counterparts.

That said, the differences were not spread out equally. The pay gap was wider between private and federal employees with less than a college education, and it actually reversed for the very highly educated.

Federal civilian workers with no more than a high school education earned 34 percent more in wages, on average, than similar workers in the private sector. Among those with a bachelor's degree, federal workers earned 5 percent more than their market counterparts. By contrast, federal workers with a professional or doctorate degree earned 24 percent less than in the private sector.

50 No way Barr allows a new special prosecutor.

Even if Barr wanted that (and I don't think he does - he's a company man who wants to try to save their reputations, not do more damage), Trump would never let him give the order.

So, I think it is a trap. They want a special prosecutor and know they won't get one. MSNBC's Chyron was something like "Barr intervenes in cases interesting to Trump" when I was last in the breakroom.

I think they're going to try to force Barr's resignation. Barring that (pun intended), I think they might try to impeach him and try for a new AG who will toe the line.

Yeah, this is a serious problem. Government jobs typically pay less than private sector for several reasons, the main one being job security and stability. Your company is not going to one day go under. Your job is not going to be suddenly cut unless a Trump comes along, the first president in 220 years to actually cut the size of agencies.

I think it is a trap but you have it the wrong way round.

There is no way that Trump, Barr and his team have not been listening to what the disloyal resistance in his admin have been doing. They have been listening to what these guys have been saying to each other and they knew they were lying when they gave their original sentencing briefs.

The also knew that their boss was in with them about the lie, that is why they did what they did to her yesterday.

This is as easy as it gets for Barr to use to start rounding up the traitors in his department and elsewhere.

These guys lied to their superior and were scheming behind the scenes to do so in a way to screw the president, anyone and everyone associating with them is guilty.

This is Barr' entre to the hangings.

I think they're going to try to force Barr's resignation. Barring that (pun intended), I think they might try to impeach him and try for a new AG who will toe the line.

OK, I don't doubt it, but what was the angle here?

I can only come up with two possibilities, so if some smarter Moron has a better idea, let me know!

1.) Hit Stone with a Draconian sentencing rec, and hope his instincts as a shady self-dealing trickster kick in so that he helps them frame the President for something new. Moldovan collusion or whatever.

2.) Hope that the usual DoJ ass-covering keeps their perfidy secret, so that when Trump inevitably intervenes on Stone's behalf, whether on Twitter or with an actual pardon, they can claim obstruction of justice and spin up that particular machine once again.

That's all I've got.

One of those is a risky maneuver. The second one is just dumb.

Trump took a lot of shit for his threat to Iran that he would bomb "cultural sites"

I suddenly realized that he may have said that because he has intelligence that the rulers have safe houses inside of cultural sites thinking that they would never get bombed.

That would mean that he tweeted that publicly in order to make it personal to them, and he accepted the fallout (it made those who lover Iran but hat the regime pull closer to the regime) to gain that benefit.

The FBI rarely does their interviews with tape or written submissions. It's all verbal. Seems to work for them.

If you go back to Mueller, Barr claimed that Mueller told him and Rosenstein that the DOJ charging guidelines for a president had nothing to do with his decisions and Mueller was forced to confirm this in front of Congress.

For everything the Resistance pisses into the wind about his fascist tendencies, most of what his administration has suffered has been the result of his being insufficiently brutal.

Okay, maybe the broader public might not have responded so well. Maybe he knows that and has set himself up as the victim.

But damn, I wanted to see corpses.

358 When they are cutting a cancer out of you they don't just take what they can see on the surface. They look to see if there is more of the tumor or other tumors if the cancer has metastasized. The number of corrupt people burrowed into the government seems to grow daily. As Trump said the other night in NH, it's a bigger swamp than even he realized.

It wouldn't make a lot of sense to take out a handful of people while leaving a much bigger cancer behind.

It's become more and more clear every day that Trump has had to take on the ENTIRE Washington establishment, Republican and Democrat alike. The Uniparty is real - look at our recent nominees, Romney and McCain and Paul Ryan were all on the other side. Christ Christie tried to sabotage him, Rince Priebus was a piece of shit, the 3 Amigo Generals were all disloyal. ALL of them had their allegiance to the Deep State, not to Trump, not to the Voters.

408 This one is in the test phase right now. The media is seeing if they can exploit it. The House Committees will likely open an investigation(s).

Here's the purpose:

They want Trump on defense. You've seen what happens this past week when he gets a window to go on the offense. How many people were shown the door?

As long as they can tie him down with accusations and solidify the daily news media pounding with an investigation, any action by the administration is played off as political vengeance...and is investigated in its own right.

Here's the problem. As usual, they overplayed their hand and instead of swaying and persuading people to agree with them and eroding Trump's support, they are alienating more and more people to the other side....because they are still playing by the same rules they always have. They used to do this stuff under the cover of darkness and behind closed doors. But, the guy in the White House isn't letting that happen. He's a GD Honey Badger. He is the epitome of LOLGF.

As long as Trump does NOT break the law, the other side is pretty much screwed. And, now it's come to the point where the Left isn't so much trying to get Trump. They are trying to hold onto their rabid, unhinged base, while simultaneously trying to stall Trump's pursuit and publication of "Spygate" (and I suspect worse...much worse).

They are going to have to do this for five years. So buckle up.

That's kind of the whole point. Democrats have so corrupted the government that they can get away with things Republicans never could. They created a 2 tier justice system. That is the core of this fight.

Of course Obama could get away with things Trump never could. Biden is caught bragging on video that he blackmailed the Ukrainian government with a $1 billion loan guarantee but Trump gets impeached for delaying aid to the same country for a few weeks to insure they weren't using it corruptly.

The goal is to fix the system that is still filled with corrupt people and not get crushed doing it. A lot easier to say than do.

I was always a bit disappointed that no one ever said much about the end of McMaster's career, even though it was clear what had happened. A top level communication between Trump and some foreign leader had just been leaked to the NYT (IIRC) and Trump was livid about the breach, since only a handful of people at the NSC had access to the transcript. Trump and Pompeo together said that this was an outrage, and that they were putting everything into identifying the leaker who would be fired, no matter who he was.

Now surprisingly, this story was *never* mentioned in public again. BUT 2 days later, McMaster was abruptly fired with no notice. An amazing coinky-dink.

Reality Bites was probably the height of her babeitude, but that was a low height.

Well, that right there is the (dare I say it) Trump Card. Eventually, the administration is going to say "Damn the torpedoes." And, they are going to go fully on offense regardless of what piddly investigations are pending or what the media is saying. I suspect it's coming very very very soon because Trumps numbers are way up and the DOJ publicly just came out and socked this latest accusation in the nose.

I think we're getting close to seeing the real Donald J. Trump. His speeches lately have been a bit more accusatory with little bits thrown in like "Just wait, you'll all see what's been going on." Then, followed by, "Soon."

530 There may be something to the comments above that this was just a plan to damage Barr.

The left is obsessed with hating Barr and wanting to impeach him. Because he is Good, and Right, and Effective.

And it seems everything the left knows about impeachment they learned watching "all the presidents men" and they think the first step is firing an Attorney. Second step is destruction of evidence. They tried the same path with Trump.

Barr has yet to prosecute a single one of the "Coup" players. Hillary still got off scot free, and is swanning about calling Trump a fascist. I'm not exactly sure what he has done that renders him so fearsome. Maybe if he did prosecute McCabe, Strzok and some of the other conspirators, they would act less aggressively. They have faced no legal action so far, and even the lost salaries have been made up by book deals and CNN spots.

539 OK, I don't doubt it, but what was the angle here?

Posted by: Yudhishthira's Dice at February 12, 2020 12:15 PM (AzW6q)

Think the original arrest of Stone was an attempt to get #1 for Russian collusion. At the time Mueller was trying to get anyone to flip to extend the news cycle.

The 9 years is just trying to get petty revenge after Stone told them to piss up a rope when arrested.
