The Soyciety Pages: Pierre Omidyar's Dependents for IRS Tax Purposes Flit from One Pierre Omidyar Sponsored Event to Another

From grifter book launch to grifter fundraiser to grifter "gathering" back to a grifter book launch back to a grifter fundraiser...

Julie Kelly:

The gathering featured a whos-who of Trump haters.

According to a weekend blurb in Politico, a launch party Friday night to celebrate the release of yet another screed about Donald Trump attracted journalists and lawmakers as well as NeverTrumpers such as Bill Kristol and David Frum. Unmasking the Presidency, a new book authored by Lawfare's Susan Hennessey and Benjamin Wittes, went on sale a few weeks ago and is already available on Amazon for a deep discount.

The book party was sponsored by Democracy Fund, a nonprofit backed by eBay founder Pierre Omidyar. Since 2016, Omidyar, a self-proclaimed Trump foe, has dumped tens of millions of dollars into projects to sabotage the president. (Lawfare, a wellspring of Russian collusion propaganda, received $600,000 from Democracy Fund between 2017 and 2019.)

So, of course, Kristol was in attendance at the soiree. Alleged "conservatives" in the NeverTrump cabal that Kristol commands have prostituted themselves by accepting money from the leftist tech billionaire with a grudge against the president and a record of hostility to conservatism.

More at the link. Meanwhile, Bill Kristol just announced, get this!, a new "gathering" of "principled conservatives" which you can, get this!, donate your money to.

Here's the event, which I'm told you can still buy tickets to. (Hint!)

Look at this Who's Who of Who's That:

Confirmed Speakers

Mona Charen

Bill Kristol

Tara Setmayer

David Frum

Carrie Cordero

Evan McMullin

Ramesh Ponnuru

Rina Shah

Tim Miller

Mindy Finn

Will Wilkinson

Amanda Carpenter

Heath Mayo

Patrick Chovanec

Shermichael Singleton

Benji Backer

Reed Howard

*Note: This list continues to grow daily.

How can the list "grow daily"? This is the same list of mutants, grifters, and Omidyar Welfare Dependents that you've been pushing since 2016.

More about that:

And this is left over from Friday: The Bill-Kristol-boosted joke candidate Joe Walsh went on a tear attacking conservatives as "brainwashed" zombies and stating that people should vote for a avowed socialist.

He also completely proved his "True Conservative" bona fides by pulling the ultimate True Conservative move -- writing an editorial for the Washington Post's lowest-possible-prestige-level vertical, "Post Everything" (where the name "post everything" indicates "we'll publish anything clickbaity") -- which calls conservatives "brainwashed" and "cultists."

See, we're brainwashed because we stopped believing the transparently-false Robotic Conservaspeak Talking Points.

He went on, get this!, CNN to announce he would support any socialist over Trump and that all conservatives who don't support socialists are "cultists."

More:

Many other True Conservatives praised Joe Walsh.

Liberal patrician Bill Weld, CNN fake conservathot turned Bulwark thot Amanda Carpenter, and venomously hardcore leftwinger Joan Walsh of Salon -- now there are three Titans of True Conservatism!

And then Sarah Longwell, also of the Bulwark, decided to promote Walsh.

Wow, look at all these brave independent thinkers, all bravely retweeting each other!!!

Also, this is a big list of big names (for certain values of big, anyway - these guys are known to the political wonks). At $10/ticket, this should have sold out in hours.

The last year or so of Walsh's radio show we're rants just like that. Everyone in the audience was wrong and stupid for following Trump, only he could see the truth and Trump would eventually ruin everything in the country. I never could figure out why they didn't pull the plug earlier on him. He was always talking about how his ratings were tanking because people didn't want to hear the truth

208 [T]he feeling that the Labour Party was no longer for [former Labour voters] went beyond Brexit and the Corbyn leadership. While it had once been true that "they knew us, because they were part of us," Labour today seemed to be mostly for students, the unemployed, and middle-class radicals. It seemed not to understand ordinary working people, to disdain what they considered mainstream views and to disapprove of success. The "pie in the sky" manifesto of 2019 completed the picture of a party that had separated itself from the reality of their lives.

As far as many of these former supporters were concerned, then, the Labour Party they rejected could not be trusted with the public finances, looked down on people who disagreed with it, was too left-wing, failed to understand or even listen to the people it was supposed to represent, was incompetent, appallingly divided, had no coherent priorities, did not understand aspiration or where prosperity comes from, disapproved of their values and treated them like fools.

274 'Never Trump' Republicans backing Joe Biden in NH primary, emails show
https://t.co/f79C70kLyn

Embittered "Never Trump" Republicans tied to former Ohio Gov. John Kasich have secretly schemed to assist Joe Biden's campaign - because they think he's the only Democrat who can beat the president and help them get "revenge," The Post has learned.

Emails obtained by The Post show that two top staffers from Kasich's failed, 2016 primary campaign and Ohio's former GOP chairman, a Kasich ally, were among those involved in efforts to boost support for the former vice president in last week's botched Iowa caucus and Tuesday's New Hampshire primary.

Funding for the plan came largely from two deep-pocketed Democratic donors - former Microsoft president Jon Shirley and his wife, Kimberly - who've made maximum contributions to Biden and hosted a fund-raiser for him last year, records also show.

278 Time to change the rules on who gets to call themselves conservative in these "thought domains" since they aren't what they self-describe.

So when, say, a Bill Kristol prefaces his name with conservative Bill Kristol, we're just going to have to call BS on that and strike it from conversation. It'll be macro-globalist liberal Bill Kristol... and so on.

Don't even put in quotes "conservative" and play the game they want to play. It's simply Progressive X and Democrat Operative Y. They've conceded the rule that says they can label themselves since it's now a form of false advertising.

reduce the sentencing recommendation.

The reaction of the Left to cases like Flynn and Stone indicate there will be no reconciliation, only a settling of matters by open conflict.

Neither one of these men was originally guilty of a crime. They were charged with process crimes alone.

The glee of the Left in tormenting any figure connected to Trump is notable, government misconduct and fake charges no problem, got another one. They don't care if old men get jailed for non-crimes, while actual criminals on their side go free.

It's a mark of how bad our education system. I recall trying to wrap my mind around Lincoln's positions, and finally realized that he himself clearly stated his unifying principle on everything he did. He stated that he had taken an Oath to preserve and defend the Union, that the people had elected him to preserve and defend the Union, and he would do *anything* - no limits - If he thought it was necessary to preserve and defend the Union. He would free all slave, he would keep all slaves, he would protect the Constitution, he would shred the Constitution, he would save the Nation, he would Burn Down half the Nation - whatever was necessary to Preserve and Defend the Union.

That's why any who say he had no principles miss the boat on him completely - he weighed the questions carefully, and decided that he had only ONE guiding principle, and everything he did was subordinate to that.

450 Somebody needs to explain to Joe Walsh that Republicans aren't "brainwashed" simply because they see Trump's successes and they like them.

Trump, unlike Joe Walsh and the other GOPers, is effective. He is effective in getting conservative judges appointed, he is effective in getting conservative policies (like lower taxes, fewer government regs, more secure borders, etc.) implemented, he is effective in fighting back against the leftist cabal that controls the MSM and Hollywood and Big Tech and so much else in this country.

Admiring Trump's effectiveness and successes is not the same as being brainwashed. It's just fucking common sense -- at least it is if you're an actual conservative, and not one of the statist asshole RINO's sucking up the the Big Left in hopes that they won't be left uninvited to the best Beltway cocktails parties.

The same could be said of politicians of either party. They don't want to solve problems. They want to campaign for them.

And here is a lesser form of an exchange:
Party A: Our deficit is a national security threat. We need to cut the budget X%.
Party B: Yes it is, but we should cut it Y%.
Party A: Only a NAZI would want that amount cut.
Party B: Well you're a racist.
Party A and B: Then it is resolved. We will increase spending XY%.

Trump brings solutions. Parties bring campaign bullet points. And that is why Trump is and remains a threat to Deep State.

No, it won't matter the outcome. They're finished after November.

If Trump wins, they were ineffective and there's no point in keeping them around. If Trump loses, their job is done and the country no longer exists in its current form as of that moment and there is no point in keeping them around.

The one thing that is sure-fire in this campaign is that regardless of outcome, these people are finished.

Its why the Brit Army went to Two Ranks, and rolling volleys.

An oncoming column was only 20-50 men wide (depending on size of the unit).

A solid single volley would all hit the first rank, where a rolling volley would hit subsequent ranks as the front rank fell.

523 There is no papering over this schism. And it IS a true schism. We need to establish an actual CONSERVATIVE party with it's own structure and people. We need to stop conflating "Republican" and "Conservative" they are NOT the same thing. We also need to recognize that NeverTrump is the real heart and soul of the "Republican" party. That IS WHO THEY ARE. Mitt Romney IS the human avatar of the GOP.

No, there will be no "subverting" the Republican Party to a "Conservative" party.

The Left will be doing the same thing soon - a HUGE chunk of people who nominally call themselves "Democrats" are really "Socialist / Communist" and they are increasingly comfortable calling themselves that. After Bernie gets screwed again they'll leave.

The politicians and their enablers / handlers / fluffers / stenographers (aka "The Elite") will probably throw in together for a "moderate-left" party to fend off the other two "extremist" wings.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Mine too.

That's what pisses me off about the Prog's "nation of immigrants" bullshit. It's a passive/aggressive way to try to say that we don't belong on this land.

But they all think that illegal Mexicans do.

557 Last time I checked, having been born here, 2 generations in, I'm a 'Native' American.

I want to know how many generations you have to be in country to be considered a native around here. Otherwise this shit will go on forever.

As the Horde's resident Native American (many times moreso than Elizabeth Warren), I hereby adopt the whole lot of you. Those who have any Native DNA at all are Crazy Uncles. Those who don't see Weird Cousins.

You're all Native Americans now. I say so. And as a minority, my word is law. That's how this shit works, right?

Three rank fire really helped with this. But
without a huge amount of drill- without turning your men into highly
disciplined machines instead of Barbarian heroes- your army was in
serious trouble.

Posted by: trev006 at February 11, 2020 03:55 PM (+9YYq)
You can cut the odds of it happening by alternating front rank/rear rank volleys.

I've done massed volley fire on marked man sized targets firing on command - "aim, fire, etc"
We questioned where everyone fired, and why. When we finished we discovered guys with beards/glasses/mustaches, flashy neckerchiefs, etc, caught MORE rounds than ones that didn't have something that made them stand out.
Also, the best place to be is on the right or left end of a line - but NOT the 2nd man in. No one aims at the end file man because they might miss - but the 2nd guy in - heh - bullet trap.

It's more valid than Elizabeth Warren's. Plus, if you have over 3 generations of ancestry in the US, odds are that you have some somewhere.

571 Also inaccurate on a point(Lincoln was not a radical abolitionist, which is not the same as being not an abolitionist) and missing context/nuance on the other.
Posted by: Someguy at February 11, 2020 03:26 PM (YVvSQ)

Posted by: Tom Servo at February 11, 2020 03:34 PM (Kpl3J)

That sentence is often used to claim Abe had no interest in emancipation. Reading on to the *very next sentence* he goes on to say that he has always had the personal conviction that all men should be free.

It is just as a man who respected the law, he realized that becoming President didn't make him above the law as set up by the Constitution and previous laws. He was bound as President to enforce all the laws, including the ones that upheld slavery, until a superior law overcame them - first his war powers Emancipation over rebelling regions only, and later the 13th Amendment that settled the issue by making it banned by law everywhere.
