Posted by: JEM at February 13, 2020 09:54 AM (8erNz)

43 I don't find much noteworthy in the painting. A couple of grown sisters sitting near each other but not doing anything. For me, the attraction of the work is the use of color in the skin tones and even more in the clothing. The blues are especially noteable and seem to define the figures. Not something I would put on the wall but not bad, just sort of uninteresting.

The advice I've always read is that, unless you plan to live in a property for at least five years, it would make more financial sense to rent. I hope to flee Da Swamp in less time than that. Realtors like to play games where if they're representing a seller, they give a first crack to the agents at their company who are representing prospective buyers. So if the market is hot, the best properties might not make it on zillow for an appreciable amount of time for you to find it on your own before they're already under contract.

Zod's homeowner association is...enthusiastic. Fortunately, the Fairfax County judge told them to get bent over a neighbor's addition that was not in "harmony and conformity" a few years back.

So they're weaponizing the proceeds of the neighborhood Home and Garden Tour for a lawfare warchest.

230 I don't pull the "veteran" card too often, but I can't help it after listening to some of shit this morning concerning LTC Vindman.

CNN was off on a roll about this asshole this morning, saying this "purple heart" medal winning officer was being singled out by Trump.

Things have changed in the military concerning purple hearts. When my father was in the Navy during WWII and my uncle during the Korean War, a purple heart was awarded for serious injuries incurred during combat. A soldier would have been ridiculed if they tried to get a purple heart for a minor "boo boo", if not bitch slapped for trying to degrade the honor of those actually wounded.

In Vietnam, there was an incentive to obtain a purple heart - or multiple purple hearts - to leave before completing your tour. Pussies like John Kerry come to mind. Vindman apparently was in the general vicinity of an explosion and he received an "injury" that he visited a medic about and was released back to duty the same afternoon. For this, he got a purple heart.

Back in society, he touts the medal as if he sacrificed in the same manner as those who lost limbs.

I wish frauds like this could be exposed and the public educated on what true valor looks like with deserving purple heart receipients.

Unless I miss my guess, this is a pastel on paper. It's a beautiful piece of work in a difficult medium.

As for the subjects, the contrast between the sisters is quite striking: the one on the left with arms spread apart and legs crossed, in a bright, loosely cut dress, staring at the viewer in a challenging way; the one on the right turning away from the viewer, in somber, high-necked dress, in a posture that's seems almost defensive. My guess is that Right Sister is older, but Left Sister rules the roost.

My guess is that the artist drew them separately, then assembled the figures in his final composition.

264 "It's idiotic that government spending is included in GDP. The

government did not create that wealth, but removed it from the economy." Posted by: J.J. Sefton

The military Industrial Complex would beg to differ with you.

What
is "wealth"? With a fiat currency, the stock market could go up another
100% and not create anything more, it could just be currency
manipulation, underwritten by BigGov. And it is becoming common
knowledge/belief ... that BigGov is "in the market". That is why the
cries to "audit the fed" abound.

The "Nash Equilibrium" seems
to keep everyone in "the market", so BigGov is happy to keep that game
going. The oligarchs and machine traders extract their unfair share of
that "wealth", and the fed is trapped ... they can't break the 35 year
trend of lower interest rates (which punishes responsible savers).

I
think we have communism by proxy of monetary policy. In a sense, the
fed policy and our military have forced everyone into the same Ponzi
scheme ... but that does fund a lot of economic activity. Productivity
Gains are "redistributed" to the top and bottom tiers, workers still grind out
their 40 hour weeks, and their capital is used to underwrite massive
GovDebt. TickTock.

Talk of a reset or jubilee ... is

I mated with a female who looks spookily like Ingrid Bergman.
People used to remark on it. Yes, that was great.

Now, she's within half a decade of as old as Ingrid Bergman ever got to be.
Do yourself a favor and don't look up those pictures of Ingrid Bergman.
No, she hasn't started to look like that. Yet.
And be careful what you wish for.

The relative I'm talking about once was all flattered because she had done some work for a rich publisher who was also an Arab. So she agreed to go to his house for some "work" after hours, and then they shared a couple bottles of wine and laughed, and then she was shocked, shocked, when he tried to get into her pants and flipped out on her when she ran out. And then he fired her, and she thought that was unfair.

Posted by: Guzalot

That's kind of what we (Shibumi and I) bought. The other deal was well water and septic.

We have a semi-rural, semi-suburban neighborhood, with city water and sewer, lots of gun-totin' neighbors, and not far from the city (Columbus). It's Trump country, really Red America. We are totally safe here.

Very quiet, and about 2/3 of an acre, with lots of woods in the back. All the houses here have big lots, and nobody bothers anybody.

And no HOA, either.

A "reset" is possible...

The U.S. government "owns" a tremendous amount of assets, all contrary to the Constitution. These assets would amount to more than 72 trillion if valued fairly, but can't be immediately sold - simply because there isn't that much money available.

What I proposed is establishing a semi-autonomous agency that is tasked with disposing of the assets over a 100 year span, but making at least half the immediate value available for the government.

This could conceivably pay off the federal debt, all mortgage, consumer, student and credit card debt, while leaving trillions to spend on a total refurbishment of the infrastructure.

No printing money for nothing, actually assets with real value being exchanged for cash to totally reset the nation.

Eh, it's something to think about.

I hope when the time comes, they are shown their sins, the sins of murder, greed, covetousness, infidelity, pride, and idolatry, and, even upon the Lord's convicting evidence, they dare in a last moment of human arrogance to try to con the Creator with their own doublespeak and credentialism on how He is wrong and they know best and a vengeful God casts them painfully into eternal damnation to be forgotten to all forevermore as they burn in agony.

The next few were where the plumber but a bend in the pipe rather than an elbow, and it was on hot water so I thought, okay, the stress of heating and cooling in a bend caused a pinhole. So I replaced all the curves that I could reach with elbows.

Now I am getting pinhole leaks in straight sections of pipe, even cold water lines.
