More Great Economic News – Low Gasoline Prices – A Situation That Democrats and Never Trump Vow To Reverse
[BUCK THROCKMORTON]

Gas - $1.96 - 02.05.2020.jpg

This is the best economy of most Americans’ lives, with full employment, increasing wages, a booming stock market, low inflation, and more job openings than job seekers. Almost overlooked in all this is gasoline prices, which are nearing historically low (inflation-adjusted) prices.

Your typical American tends “to feel“ gas price fluctuations more than most any other economic trend, and lower income and lower-middle-class workers who drive to work feel it the most. Where I live, gas prices have just dropped below $2.00 per gallon, and people are buzzing about it. (It was a big topic at the Super Bowl gathering I attended.)

When President Lightbringer was running for re-election in 2012, the average price for a gallon of gas was $3.64. ($3.80 when adjusted for inflation.) Per AAA, the current average price per gallon in the USA is $2.46, which is 32% less than it was 8 years ago. For a person who drives 15,000 miles per year and gets 20 mpg, that is an additional $75 in his wallet each month. That matters to the average American. It matters a lot.

Naturally, the Democrats running for President are promising to raise gasoline prices.

Allied in trying to elect a Democrat to the White House are NeverTrumpers and their subsidiary, the Principled Free Traders™, those highly principled people who simply cannot vote for Donald Trump because his “tariffs are a tax on consumers.” Because of this noble and principled stand on behalf of consumers, the Principled Free Traders™ stand firmly with the Democrats this election – the party that promises to kill oil patch jobs and raise the price that consumers pay for gas. Because that is what highly principled people do. Without ulterior motive. For the consumers.

Of course, the main reason we have cheap gasoline is frackers, who have brought forth gushers of oil and natural gas, making America energy independent. The Democrats hate this. Pretty much every Democrat presidential candidate vows to ban fracking in some capacity and to drive up the cost of gasoline again. Let’s hope President Trump helps the Democrats get their message out loud and clear.

67 What I truly find shocking is marvel of efficiency in oil production for what we get.

Here in Denverish, median gas prices are $2.68/gal according to AAA. Gas taxes in CO are $0.22/gal. So the actual median price of the gas is $2.46.

For that, someone has to buy a lease, sink a well, hope it isn't dry, produce that well, transport the crude, refine the crude, transport the refined product and eventually dump it into a tank at my local gas station.

For less than the cost of a gallon of milk. It blows my damn mind.

"Fossil fuel executives should be criminally prosecuted for the

"We are going to end the greed of the fossil fuel industry and move to
100% renewable energy," he tweeted in an attack on natural gas. Sanders'
website indicated that he would, as president, direct his Justice
Department to pursue criminal charges against companies like Exxon.

"These executives have spent hundreds of millions of dollars protecting
their profits at the expense of our future, and they will do whatever it
takes to squeeze every last penny out of the Earth," his website says. Bernie promises to go further than any other presidential candidate in
history to end the fossil fuel industry's greed, including by making the
industry pay for its pollution and prosecuting it for the damage it has
caused.

An example are those who say "tariffs are bad" without acknowledging that tariffs are a tool, and like all tools you use it if it is the appropriate tool for the job. But those people don't do it, they keep bowing to their shibboleth without examining why it is there in the first place.

93 Our 2018 elected Gov. It would have made gasoline in Michigan the highest priced gas in the nation at the time, outpricing CA and HI.

Thank god we still have a Republican legislature. That dingbat idea of hers,, which she still hasn't let go of, fell with a thud, not to be brought up again. She even pissed off Democrats who voted for her, as she never said any such thing as a candidate. They just knew she was for abortion and especially for legalizing pot, and so she was their candidate.

This morning , the Detroit Free press announced she had sent her new budget proposal to them for their analysis and publication. She never bothered to send it to the legislature first. Talk radio hosts this morning marveled that they never knew the DFP was how budgets get passed in the state.

100 Tesla has benefited in four ways:

a) The Fed tax credit, $7500 at its peak, which is winding down and may be gone now. We bought one end of last year and we get $1850.

b) The CA rebate, which still applies but is only $2000 and will also phase out.

c) The solo-driver carpool lane access, good for three years, for many buyers this is THE killer benefit but it applies to ANY ZEV. Chevy Bolt and a bunch of plug-in hybrids.

d) The benefits they scored from taking over a piece of the defunct GM NUMMI plant in Fremont CA.

Here's how I test my hypotheses re the Reds: an issue arises. Where do the Reds shake out on it?

To predict that, I don't need to know any details about the issue, no studies, no White Papers, etc. All I need to know is which side of the issue hurts America, and then I can confidently predict where the Reds will shake out.

Try it. It never fails.

129 The Democrat Party that people once knew is dead, and its corpse is stinking up the place. Democrat Party voters nostalgic for its return, are probably also looking for Elvis. They vote at the peril of every American, because the agenda, no matter who is running, is the same. They seek policies, like this, which are fundamentally destructive to our economy and well being. Their reasoning always ends in fallacies based on the facts, so they push hyperbolic fiction like man made global warming, never offer reasonable alternatives and then finally threaten to use the power of our government to enforce or coerce people to comply with their fantasies.

Pull off the fucking scab already, people. Democrats want to rule, not govern, and they don't offer any policy options which are demonstrably fruitful or provide anything remotely close to the benefits we are all receiving from this president and the current Republican Party.

A vote for Democrats, is a vote to destroy our country and turn it over to people who can't proffer a simple, demonstrably true, factual argument.

Yep he is setting up his defense if this ever gets to a Court Martial, which it most likely won't. He will be allowed to serve out his 20 and then be asked to leave.

I had a pilot who crashed an F/A-18 due to negligence, fired off a missile at an Australian lear jet towing a target banner for gun runs because he lost "situational awareness", switching from guns to missile in the cockpit playing Top Gun and let one go, landed and didn't say a word to anyone. The Ordies went up to the plane to dearm it and found out what he had done.

And then later on the same deployment he bounced another F/A-18 off the round down coming in for a carrier landing and they let him serve out his time.

The military very rarely kicks officers out.

391 When democrats vow to ban fracking, I always ask, why? Why would you do that?

If you are worried about pollution - don't be. the Greens lied relentlessly about that. There is not a pollution problem at all.

If you are worried about global warming, don't be. Tesla is making great electric cars and seems to be selling them as fast as they can make them. Besides, we'd just be buying the oil and gas from oversees. places without environmental regulations, who support killing homosexuals and degrading women. besides the natural gas from fracking has displaced coal, resulting is substantial overall declines in emissions. And gas fired power allows more solar and wind onto the grid that would otherwise be possible.

So far fracking has not only helped our wallet, helped curb terrorism and tyranny, but also reduced emissions. It is a full tilt, 100% win for everyone.

In 2004 two guys in my unit were involved in a shooting incident in Iraq-- killed four guys in a car, one of whom was related to somebody who was a Somebody.

Fast forward a year or so and we get a new guy in the unit (one of many). Smart kid, but not as smart as he thought he was. He heard something, or thought he did, and went to the IG and reported that the two guys hadn't been under threat at all, and they'd simply smoked the car and killed the guys for kicks. Big investigation ensues, a bunch of us get dragged in and wrung out, and ultimately nothing comes of it because none of us knew what the fuck this guy was talking about.

New guy got himself busted down and transferred out in record time. If you're going to drop dimes you'd better be packing proof or you're toast.

produces a quarter. tells the attendant. attendant springs into action,
checking tires, oil, washing windshield, etc ... guy looks sheepish.
reluctantly whispers to the girlfriend. she produces another quarter
