Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau has opened a probe against former president, Petro Poroshenko, who is suspected of abuse of power, embezzlement “on a grand scale” and allegedly stealing US aid funds. The case against the ex-president was opened following a complaint by a group of Ukrainian MPs and the nation’s High Anti-Corruption Court demanding the authorities investigate embezzlement and misappropriation of the foreign financial aid at the time of Poroshenko’s term in office, a Ukrainian MP Renat Kuzmin said in a Facebook post.GOP senators think they have the votes to wrap this douche up. It was clear to Senate Republicans on Wednesday after a morning meeting between Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) that the question of having additional witnesses is settled, and the Senate will vote Friday to wrap up the impeachment trial of President Trump.Cory Gardner, a moderate/establishment liberal, has stated that he does not seen the need for additional witnesses and can judge this "trial" on the record as it stands. An informed friend speculated that Garnder might be telling his fellow moderates, "You're jeopardizing my reelection by dicking around with an unpopular, partisan sham impeachment." Also, Democrats continue expressing doubts as to the case: @joshdcaplan POLITICO: Democrat Sens. Joe Manchin (WV), Doug Jones (AL), and Kyrsten Sinema (AZ) weighing vote to acquit Pres. Trump in impreachment trialSorry again. I made a low-carb lasagna (without noodles), and I thought that would just take 40 minutes. It didn't. It took like 90 minutes. I played a console video game that started that way. WW2 Russians in Leningrad I think. You came off the boat with bullets. Guy in front of you had a gun. If he dies, pick up the gun. You end up the only survivor of the landing, trying to make your way to some sort of HQ. Like all of those games the entire war depends on you and you have to go after 900 enemies with 7 bullets and no backup as if you are not actually part of an army, so it got annoying fast. He is the Judge presiding over the trial, although he isn't doing much. Any Judge in a courtroom can restrict what can or cannot be said in his courtroom for any number of reasons. It probably doesn't matter now, if they've got the votes to refuse any more witnesses, this will be over quickly. I don't see the need for zucchini honestly There's a recipe for making wheat free "noodles." It's something like this: 4 ounces cream cheese, two eggs, half a cup of mozzarella, add spices (salt pepper italian seasoning oregano), blend up into a paste. Spread the paste on parchment paper on a big cookie sheet, bake for about 20 minutes, let cool for 40. Then you cut that up and use it as noodles. willowed:
1171 Sorry about the delay, but here's my rally report: Needless to say, we didn't make it in to the rally. There were only 12-15 people in front of us at the cut-off, which was just heart-breaking. We arrived at the staging area at about 6:30 AM Tuesday morning, and estimated that there were approximately 1,500 people in line ahead of us. Since the Convention Center holds 7,400, we were feeling pretty confident, even if our estimate was far off.. There were a quite a few tents at the beginning of the line, and nearly everyone had brought chairs, blankets and snacks in anticipation of the long wait. Everyone was friendly and in good spirits, and things were going well until the early afternoon. Many of the people at the front of the line were apparently acting as place holders, and soon there were scores of people joining them at the front. This went on for a couple of hours, adding hundreds of people. Those of us behind them were being pushed back and the line in our area was getting more and more cramped. At about 3:00 PM we noticed hundreds of people assembling on the boardwalk, and the rumor was that they were just looking for a good vantage point for Jumbotron viewing. Well, those hundreds turned out to be nearly 2,000 "VIPs." As I'm sure you know, there are not 2,000 VIPs in all of New Jersey, much less in Wildwood. Turns out, these people were friends and family of local politicians, etc. At about 4:00 PM the boardwalk people disappeared into the venue, and they started letting in small groups of people from our line. At that time, the Jumbotrons flashed messages indicating all the prohibited items, which naturally included chairs, blankets, etc. and instructing us to discard them before entering. Unfortunately, there was no place to properly dispose of them. There were no more than 10 or 12 55-gal. garbage cans in the entire corral which was approximately 200 yards long from north to south, and about 75 yards from east to west. There were perhaps 15 Port-a-Johns to the east of the line, and maybe 8-10 to the west. There were four concession stands on the street to the west of the line, and only one on the east side. If you were in the middle of the line, there was no way for you to get to the Port-a-Johns or to the concessions because of the interlocking barricades. If there was an emergency in the line, it would be impossible for first responders to get there in a timely manner. The few garbage cans there were were all overflowing, with huge mounds of garbage surrounding them. The barricades were lined with discarded chairs, tents, blankets, coolers and other large items that people tried to keep off to the sides, but with the huge crowds and the darkness, people were inevitably tripping over everything as they snaked through the line. During the entire 13-hour ordeal, we only encountered two police officers. One Wildwood officer directed us to the line in the morning, and an officer from Stone Harbor who was the one who finally told us that they were not letting in any more people--and this was after 40 minutes of waiting and looking for information. There were absolutely no announcements made about anything. Most disheartening were the newscasts this morning which reported only on the mess left by "the deplorables." After we escaped the barricades (which is another whole story that I won't bore you with) we ended up at The City Pub. The place was filled with Trump supporters and the rally was on every television. They whooped and chanted as if we were there in person and everyone was having a great time. Had a quick late supper, a couple of drinks, and went back to the hotel and crashed. Before driving home, we had a very nice breakfast at Bagel Time (one of the few places open.) There were several public works employees in there who overheard us talking about how disappointed we were, as well as the numerous suggestions by my NYPD friend who had quite a bit of experience with crowd control (think New Year's at Times Square.) On their way out the door, one of them apologized to us and said that their mayor hated Trump as much as Gov. Murphy does. Of course, this is purely anecdotal, but it would explain a lot. So ends the whole tale! Will probably be willowed, but whatever. Posted by: IrishEi at January 29, 2020 05:06 PM (sGotD) Posted by: Braenyard at January 29, 2020 05:42 PM (ZS+GP) 238

Schiff is being pretty clever in his wording about the whistleblower today.
He says he doesn't know who the whistleblower is and has never met him/her. OK, but did he meet with a man named Eric Ciaramella before the official whistleblower complaint was submitted? Schiff says "his committee staff" and "the committee staff" did not meet with the whistleblower or help him/her write the complaint. OK, but did anyone on your personal office staff, or anyone on staff of another committee or Representative, do either of those actions? Posted by: Gref at January 29, 2020 05:42 PM (AMIL/) 246

Um, why does it matter who the leaker is?
It has no bearing on his guilt. The question is, did Trump threaten to withhold foreign aid in order to pressure a foreign government to dig up dirt on one of his opponents? That's it. Who leaked it is irrelevant. If you think Trump didn't do this, then you have nothing to worry about. Let's put all the cards on the table and see that this didn't happen. If you think he did and you don't see anything wrong with that - you are a fucking idiot. If Trump is allowed to do this, then why wouldn't every President withhold every congressional appropriation in order to obtain a personal favor with it? Be honest. Nancy Pelosi called this bribery. That's far short of what it is. Bribery is where you spend your own money to obtain a favor. This wasn't Trump's money. It was taxpayer money and he hijacked it for personal gain. He used our money to obtain a favor for him. Again, if this isn't what happened, then fine. Bolton is lying and the transcript doesn't say what it appears to say. But if it did - holy shit is this a ridiculous abuse of power. Trump doesn't get to wet his beak with our tax dollars. Don't bother responding. The responses are typically too numerous to address and I won't read them. Posted by: Seattle Slough at January 29, 2020 05:46 PM (luSNd) 288

Harriet Miers was hardly GWB secretary. She was his personal lawyer during his 2000 campaign with decades of legal experience in tort and corporate law and was the first female president of the Texas Bar. She served as chief of staff for Bush for a period of time until she was nominated by him for the SC. Again, I believe you are wrong. The rules the Senate set for this proceeding were adapted from the Clinton rules. I didn't read the rules but before I asked the question I checked news stories and found no mention of this rule.
Someone should ask Roberts publicly to defend this political decision, if it is indeed a resetting of Senate rules. Like, you know, a reporter. ======= well if you've already decided I'm wrong then the actual answer probably beside the point. I dunno actually. Its just a theory. Carb free Lasagna?
Use eggs mixed with Almond powder first cooked like an omelet then cut into strips. You're welcome. Now back to the subject of the post. Roberts isn't setting the rules, he is enforcing them, as set by Senate leadership. If, as is inferred, Sen Lee already had the same question approved, then Sen Paul will not be allowed to repeat it. That is part of the rules. Also McConnell may have made a deal with Schumer to limit certain questions in order to get concessions from some squishes. I've tried that permutation. It works, but not really well. Best bet is 2 Stoned in your oven and preheat to 500 and wait for 40 minutes after the oven comes up to 500 before you drop a pizza on the 1st stone. Ukrainians say they want to deal with corruption, but their whole society is compromised by corruption all the way down to the paperboy. It's been 30 years since they declared independence from Russia. Thirty years of natural selection killing off the thoroughly corrupted red-brown old guard. Yet, corruption still dominates their culture - their way of getting things done - or to be precise, half done..

Part of the problem with gettting pizza from a shop is that a lot use old recipes for sauce that includes sugar. You do NOT need sugar (I think it harms the flavor). Way back when Fannie Farmer was still around, tomatoes used to have a lot more acid in them, but modern varieties do not, and you don't need to offset that in your recipes.

I begrudge no man his low-carb diet, but if it ain't got a pasta component, it's ain't lasagna. It's definitional. Yeah its not technically lasagna without the, you know, lasagna (the noodles are called that, its where the name comes from), but like a breakfast "burrito" I'm willing to shrug at the definition. is lasagna a sandwich? Oh, I agree. This deep state hack needs no protection for all sorts of reasons. And, yeah, the fulcrum at the center of a GD impeachment deserves ZERO PROTECTION WHATSOEVER EVER considering this is an internal state decapitation of a country's single-most valuable position. There is no justification to not expose this(these) person(s) even if it meant they could be killed for being known even though there's zero point zero chance of this being the case in these proceedings.
