Surprise: Adam Schiff Misrepresented Evidence In Senate Trial's Opening

I don't think any of us saw this coming.

In a letter to House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler of New York, lead House impeachment manager Rep. Adam Schiff likely mischaracterized evidence from former Rudy Giuliani associate Lev Parnas.

Schiff, who chairs the House Intelligence Committee, sent a letter to Nadler last week summarizing evidence put forward by Parnas, who has been indicted for fraud, claiming that Parnas "continued to try to arrange a meeting with President Zelensky." The text message from Parnas to Giuliani reads "trying to get us Mr. Z..." with the rest of the text contained in Schiff's letter redacted.

Documents reviewed by Politico show that "Mr. Z," however, probably referred to Mykola Zlochevsky, the founder the Ukrainian energy company Burisma, on whose board Hunter Biden once served while raking in $50,000 a month despite no prior experience in the industry.

Politico reports that "an unredacted version of the exchange shows that several days later, Parnas sent Giuliani a word document that appears to show notes from an interview with Mykola Zlochevsky... followed by a text message to Giuliani that states ‘mr Z answers my brother.'" Therefore, Parnas was likely referring to Zlechevsky, not Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in the exchange.

Meanwhile, the public has gotten wise to Adam Schiff's co-conspirator, the media. A new poll says that 55% call the media "corrupt" and say it "exaggerates the news."

"The repetitive programming on networks and websites and the emphasis of the media to pump the news cycle with the same stories can create burnout, causing many to question the overall quality of the news," said the survey analysis.

The media freaked out on November 8, 2016, and it hasn't stopped freaking out since. It's been having a literal mental event since then, and is making all of its programming choices to entice those suffering the same mental event.

They're monetizing mental illness.

In other news, Joe Lockhart covered himself in glory with this tweet:

Overheard convo between two Republican Senators who only watch Fox News. "is this stuff real? I haven't heard any of this before. I thought it was all about a server. If half the stuff Schiff is saying is true, we're up shit's creek. Hope the White House has exculpatory evidence

Jen Rubin retweeted it. I'm not kidding, I'm not trying to pick on her today, she's just being that idiotic

When called on this and ruthlessly pummeled by people mocking his blatant lie and stupidity, he then claimed it was satire! Why, anyone could imagine that being true!

50 I was just thinking about Lockhart's tweet today, discussed at the end of the last thread. I realize it reflects what leftists like Jen Rubin and Lockhart *actually* *think*.

1) they don't understand what the word "Evidence" means
2) they don't understand that Schiff doesn't actually have any.
3) they don't know that someone standing up and swearing that he has stuff, but he can't produce it, is not "Evidence".
4) they don't understand that Courts actually deal with this thing all the time, which is why we have rules about "Evidence."
5) they can't acknowledge that faking "evidence" is at the heart of every attempted bit of judicial corruption in recorded history.
6) they won't accept that this is why it's the Prosecution that has to produce actual Evidence, not Allegations.
7) They also won't accept the fundamental rule of all jurisprudence in the English speaking world; if the Prosecution cannot prove it's case using hard, verified evidence, then the Defendant is automatically judged to be Not Guilty. The Defendant is never required to prove a thing.

Recall: Advisor to hillary campaign

How does this [problem of Trump's mastery of TV] get handled in the general? Secretary Clinton is not an entertainer, and not a celebrity in the Trump, Kardashian mold; what can she do to offset this? I'm certain the poll-directed insiders are sure things will default to policy as soon as the conventions are over, but I think not. And as I've mentioned, we've all been quite content to demean government, drop civics and in general conspire to produce an unaware and compliant citizenry. The unawareness remains strong but compliance is obviously fading rapidly. This problem demands some serious, serious thinking - and not just poll driven, demographically-inspired messaging.

If a prosecutor lies to the Judge and Jury in a trial, he can be sanctioned, and even prosecuted.

However, if one of the President's attorneys were to lie, they could be sanctioned under the lying to Congress statutes.

267 No one wants bbq without sauce. But Sauce can't save a bbq anymore than gravy can save a turkey. Sure there are differences in NC. The most well known in my opinion is Eastern NC. But that is just my experience, the place i had the good stuff.

Obviously all forms are good or can be great. Like many great cuisines, there are a hell of a lot more imitators than practitioners of the craft.

But a person stating "Isn't the sky a beautiful shade of red today?" requires a non-stop concerted effort on behalf of numerous individuals that all tell you it's red in spite of your own misguided perception, hoping that in the end you arrive at one of two places, either that you are delusional to the point you can't believe your own eyes or that you join their perspective in an effort to belong.

It's for Jeff Van Drew, the Dem who defected because of impeachment. I think they thought it wouldn't that big a turn out , because 1. Van Drew is a congresscritter, and 2. it's Joisy.

426 As to not doing anything. The ROE is that they have to fire first.
It's not Trump being removed that will get everyone upset. It's what they'll do after.
And remember if Trump is out then Pence is in unless they pull something on him. Then the fur will fly.
We're at a tension point that I think we've never been at before.
And frankly, one guy shooting another is not something worth starting a revolution. (depending on the guy of course)
However if the Dems get froggy and decide they can do whatever they want and step out then they may find trouble.
Thing to keep in mind; everyone has to weigh is taking action worth losing a family, a job, a home. If the action being weighed is enough of a personal threat then the decision becomes easier.

427 Trump rally demand in Wildwood Nj is blowing out the arena capacity.

Well, o.k. but Governor Murphy. or some stoogeof his, has ordered construction on the main road going into Wildwood happening ight before and up to when the rally is supposed to take place.

----
The main road into Cape May is the GSP. Delsea Drive (Rt47) is a local convenience. The road construction story is being exagerrated. The only reasonable time to do road construction at the shore is in the winter months.

I agree with you.

429 Since the Democrats are closing the main road to get to the venue in the People's republic maybe only 7400 will be able to get there

430 I think PDT should campaign in all 50 states.

He is a game changer; the truth can be unexpectedly powerful.

I honestly believe that every state is in play this year.

431 Seriously, I think Trump should campaign in NJ, NY, California. Like he said, "What do you have to lose?"
Posted by: Wyatt Earp at January 22, 2020 07:33 PM (bkUtD)

He should spend a fair bit of time in NH (which will almost certainly flip Blue-to-Red), Maine (which he could win outright, not just ME-2) and CT. MA, RI and VT are hopeless but he could then just bolt over the update NY from CT and then down to NJ, flipping-off Comrade Bill in NYC along the way.

___________

I don't mind going deep into enemy territory, but I agree I would rather spend time in places like Maine, NH Minnesota over NJ. If he can flip those 3 "blue states", he's President, he doesn't need to tilt at windmills.

But maybe the idea there is to expand the map, make Dems spend money in NJ, etc.

Had 3 points flipped in 2004, Bush would won NJ.

And who are construction workers likely to be supporters of? I could see the construction dudes staging a sickout on rally day.

434 Why the hell would Zelensky's name even be redacted, if not for just this sort of deception?

Normally, people's names are redacted for their protection. What harm could come to Zelensky, a public figure, from having it come to light that someone was trying to talk to him and not having much luck arranging a meeting? I'm sure this is an everyday occurrence for a head of state.

The mere fact that this Z-name is partially redacted... I think that's pretty strong evidence in and of itself that Schiff might be trying to pull a fast one, here.
