47 Is other sportsball news allowed here?
What's up with the Asstros? The players steal signs, using video and trashcans... and the manager and GM are suspended and fired? Neither one of them knew. No one is suggesting they did. As they say though, you can't fire the players. Just give them more steroids, and send 'em back out there. The Asstros won't win another World Series in my lifetime. Posted by: BurtTC -------- GM may not hVe known but Hinch sure as hell did. And he claims he heard rumors that e sign stealing was going on but yet still didn't mention it to the GM. The GM took the sucker punch b/c it was his team I guess - seems a bit harsh to me but WTF do I know. Oh and I'm curious to see what happens to Cora since it was he who created the idea and then took it with him to Boston when they won the 2018 WS. Like was said upstream, catching signs with the naked eye is cool but using tech to get a hand up is a big no no. Funny thing is, from my experience, is knowing what's coming by way of a signal created confusion to me. If I could see a particular arm angle or maybe a different leg kick then that kinda instinct getting a signal that here comes a curveball made me think.... and strike out - lots.. There's a layer of coaching between them that keeps managers from getting too close to the day to day operations. I'm not sure if that's what was going on in Houston, but again, the commissioner's office made the point that Hinch was not implicated in any way. Just a "buck stops here" scenario. The Clempson vs Gamecock jokes are a hoot. One of my favorites: Two Gamecock grads decided to raise chickens. They are not gonna stoop to ask Clemson Extension for advice. So they get out and plant the eggs. They wait about 2 weeks and nothing is coming up. They wonder what's wrong, and decide they must've planted the eggs upside down. Should be wide end up. So they re-plant the eggs, and wait another 2 weeks. Nothing, no chickens coming up. So they break down and call Clemson Extension. The agent listens, and says, "You damn dumb Gamecocks. You ought to know I can't tell you anything without a soil test!" You think it's going to rip on the one, but then it turns it around and makes the other even stupider. That's my favorite type.
