Half of Americans don’t think it’s a problem to sneakily steal someone else’s item from the bathroom. A study of 2,000 Americans examined the habits and behaviors of people when it comes to their bathroom products. It found that one in two people have lied about using another person’s toiletries in a pinch — and no product is completely off-limits. Respondents admit to nicking all kinds of other bathroom items in a panic, like shampoo (51 percent), body moisturizer (38 percent) and facial cleanser (34 percent). Surprisingly, more people say it’s acceptable to borrow someone’s toothbrush than a razor, with 21 percent saying it’s okay to borrow a toothbrush, and only 19 percent say so for a razor. Just because they aren’t stealing doesn’t mean respondents didn’t confess to other bathroom crimes … like snooping around.

In the quest for better fuel economy, General Motors is reviving the three-cylinder engine for future models here in North America, marking the first time GM has offered such a power plant stateside in nearly 20 years. A pair of new engines will surface in the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer and next-gen 2020 Buick Encore GX, measuring 1.2 liters and 1.3 liters. They are based on preexisting motors that were revealed abroad, though power ratings for the U.S.-bound engines aren’t available just yet. Given their relatively modest subcompact applications, don't expect them to suck you into the seat. That said, some innovative tech and turbochargers provide extra boost, allowing the new mills to create similar power to their four-cylinder counterparts while reducing fuel consumption. Such includes an electrically assisted wastegate system, an electrically driven water pump, and an active vacuum system that helps relieve some of the parasitic load on the engine. Because they feature newer tuning, weigh around 40 pounds less, and have one fewer cylinder, they'll almost definitely offer better fuel economy and emit fewer emissions than the equivalent four-pot they replace.

Tedria Fluellen, 51, a teaching assistant at Worthing High School in Houston, Texas, was charged with sexual assault of a child under 17, after being accused of having sex with an underage male teenager beginning in 2018. Fluellen was in court Friday night where her bond was set for $40,000. The judge told her that 'This is a public safety issue, even though these are only allegations at this time,' according to ABC 13.

On Friday, British and Australian researchers rolled out another unorthodox strategy that they say could help restoration efforts: broadcasting the sounds of healthy reefs in dying ones. The shift to Texas was telegraphed with Schwab’s increasing presence in the area over the years, with the firm already readying to double its Westlake workforce to 2,600. Ameritrade also has a large footprint in the area. In a separate transaction, Schwab is picking up the brokerage assets of San Antonio-based USAA for $1.8 billion.

There are claims that the earth is getting windier. Good news for wind energy.
The world is getting windier, according to a new study in the journal Nature Climate Change. Researchers analyzed decades of weather data and determined global wind speeds have risen dramatically over the past 10 years. The study says wind farm operators are likely to benefit from the uptick in wind speeds since faster wind means more efficient wind turbines.
Princeton University scholar Timothy Searchinger, one of the study's authors, says researchers expect wind speed to continue to increase, he says, which has multiple positive effects.

I once had a Warrant Officer get transferred in to run my Division, on a Destroyer, the one I had been running very successfully for 3 years (Leading Petty Officer).
He told me I had a bad attitude. I told him why. That we had gotten NO recognition for our work (Like Desert Storm, where there were 30 Medals given amongst 300 crew, and even though we were 33 of those crewman, didn't get shit)
He guaranteed me that if, over the next 6 months we continued the fantastic work we had been doing, he would guarantee we would get recognized.
We did the job. Hell, even our Department Head got recognized for our work. WE did not.
6 months later he pulled me into his stateroom, and I was the first, beyond the CO, to know he was retiring.
He told me this was no longer the Navy he wanted to serve in.
There are times a single Man cannot beat the system, no matter how hard they try.
I can see Barr being in this position.

I think it is like this: baby mama has requested a monthly amount plus other things like visitation and health insurance and college and all that.
Biden disagrees with the terms.
So until there is an order he is not in violation of one. The order can be retroactive.
No doubt baby mamas atty asked for Hunters financials and if he is saying that The amount should be less he has to justify it. Reporting says judge has asked for financials don't know if that is so or newsies making shit up. But likely Biden asked his records be sealed in order to turn them over. Judge can say yes or no to that it will likely be yes.
Of course if Obama wanted it unsealed it would be unsealed. And it could still get leaked. If he was a Trump you could count on it.

Generally, a politician is on his own side. Bloomberg is a fine example of that. Look at how he has meandered from one party to another. Most of them don't switch parties, but I wouldn't trust them to be sincere about anything.

My understanding that todays court proceeding was to decide if he was the Father or not, after the tests.
He didn't show.
Next, will come the order for child support, which in Arkansas is 25% of Income for ONE Child.
Kid is 10 months old, Judge wants documents so they can decide on the child care amount.

I can imagine another GM triumph with an engineering department staffed with an HR selected design team.
The other flaw is that those neat exotic turbochargers are basically unbelievably difficult to repair and few shops or dealers are equipped to set them up correctly, but who wants a basic reliable car that will run for ten plus years!

Hadrian- I was in Houston last month and ended up at "extraordinary" Mass at the church by the Astro's ball park (church of the Annunciation?) It was wonderful, all Latin and the old communion rail, everything.
Annunciation is one of two Houston churches that do the Extraordinary Form. I go to the other one.

This is way too pessimistic - we haven't seen the IG report. I agree that if its all that the NY Times says it is, then its a tough "go around" for a prosecutor no matter how much evidence they have. But I still think it will be only half as bad as suggested, or not as all as suggested, and if so, Durham may have the goods to secure some pretty decent indictments.
Otherwise, its a very harsh and condemning report from Barr and some real realignments at DOJ and the intel community - but no one walks the plank per se.

Mine also used yardsticks for long distance disciplining. One problem with the yardsticks for the Sisters was the yardsticks broke more easily. But the school always seemed to have a ready supply of yardsticks so only harm, no foul.

Don't forget the wooden pointers, either. As they were round and a little thinker than the yardsticks, they didn't break as easily. But they did break with frequent use and frequent use was required.
I had a couple of Nuns who threw erasers and chalk, too. One really had to pay attention in class if for no other reason than to duck.

It really didn't bother me much, as my father routinely took the leather belt to me.
I can't distinctly remember laughing at a milquetoast biology teacher in 6th grade that was trying to correct my behavior.
He sent me to the gym teacher for further correction, as he hit harder. Gym teacher didn't do anything, gave me a donut to eat and let me sit in his office for ten minutes.

The NC redistricting approved by the court today will mean a loss of two GOP seats in NC-- before any votes are cast in 2020. The PA redistricting prior to 2018 cost the GOP 5 seats.

I would not have shown my Mom I was "swimming" by going hand over hand gripping the edge of a neighbor's pool, losing my grip and sinking to the bottom in water over my head when I was four years old. I couldn't swim, of course, and that stunt, from which my aunt rescued me, has messed up my attitude toward swimming -- I suck at it -- ever since then.

Until I visited the H.S. in USAF uniform when home on leave. Then the old rules didn't matter, and she made sure that I *knew* that the old rules didn't matter. You can be sure that I came to attention and SALUTED!
On the opposite end of the spectrum, my 7th grade wood shop teacher was Mr. Dull. Yes, that actually was his real name, too. He made the still as yet unknown Mr. Rogers look positively charismatic.
That said, he was a WWII Marine Combat Veteran, with the photos, stories and trophies to go along with that.
A horrible storyteller, but the content was the thrill, and not the delivery.
He let me bring a mid-1800s black-powder Pepperbox Revolver to woodshop, and shape a new set of walnut grips onto it.
This would've been, 1971.
Things have changed, just a tiny bit, since then.
And yes, I was already an anti-leftist, shoot'em-up, huntin' n' fishin' n' campin' Proto Moron, even that far back in time.

While not one event or pivotal moment I would certainly change that about the course of my life.
I have a whole multitude of things, but I think one of the most pivotal and ultimately negative events was getting advanced two grades above my age in elementary school. I would stop that from having happened.

That was a completely well intentioned but uniquely cruel thing to do to a kid. My Mom stopped 'em from bumping me up one grade, and I'm thankful that she did.
Kids are cruel. Especially to the small and weak. Which we are when we're a year or two younger than our classmates.
That said, I did get "bumped" into Honors English in the 8th grade.
I could write rings around my regular class peers, straight As on anything, no matter how tough the reading assignment.
"Honors" English was the realm of the Scions of the Rich. "Self Directing" projects, which meant money spent on diorama models and other expensive undertakings for which this poverty stricken kid hadn't a dime to offer.
I *begged* to go back to Regular English, where I could at least thrive or not on my LITERARY merits, and not the depth or thinness of my wallet.
Honors English was a Club, and I most assuredly was NOT in it.

The cities/counties doing this are the ones south of northern Virginia and west of Richmond, the rural ones. Those are the ones that keep sending Republicans back to Richmond, and there are way more of those counties/cities than in northern Virginia. The problem is that 2 counties combined in northern Virginia have more population than the 26 counties/cities of the 9th congressional district. So the 2 northern Virginia counties vote for gun control, the 26 cities/counties of the 9th district will vote against it.
BTW, if you lived in the 5th, 6th or 9th congressional districts, you would have never known there was an election since there were exactly zero campaign ads on TV around here.

I just think there are many exhilarating challenges you can tackle in life and push yourself to the limits.
I chose drugs, booze, music and whores. Not exactly creative or challenging, just survive.

Midway though High School, I became Christian, and though ardent in my faith, failed often in the practice thereof.
Come the mid '80s, and soured on a bunch of Church Corruptocracy (non-denominational money making machine church), and so though I kept my essential core Christian values, lived all too often as if I hadn't.
Couple decades of mistakes and adventures later, I'm kind of gravitating towards a bit more Christianically aligned focus, core and discipline.
But I can't be the "preachy" kind of Christian, cause I've done about every thing wrong, short of murder, that was possible to do.
And if it comes to CWII and Lexington & Concord Vol. II, well, even murder isn't out of the realm of possibility.

Well, it's only applicable if you don't have any regrets about things. i never worried about the stupid shit I did, because most are things I can chuckle about, and aren't world enders, or life altering, as in nobody lost an eye or went to jail. lol
Basically, I wouldn't waste a genie wish on that stuff. Its the big decisions, but those are the ones that will alter your life, and its just a matter of deciding what path would indeed be the ones to pull the lever on. In my case the result would have always been nasty. I can see some people easily needing to pull that lever, but in my case it ends as a dumpster fire.

when i was at Ft Slam for 91Q school, FY Q292, i got sideways for having said something less than diplomatic to one of my instructors, about a classmate.
the accusation was "disrespect to an NCO"
i went to the JAG "defender" an (O-3/CPT) at 187th Med Bn, who told me that an Art15 was no big deal, and not only should i take it, but that he had talked to my DS about the case, and had advised him what charges to file.
i went to the full bird JAG at the school, who i had a relationship with previously (he had crossed arrows on his collar points, and knew i was Infantry) and mentioned this to him.
he was not pleased.
i was not prosecuted, and the barracks had a new "public defender" in just a few days.
i wonder how many potential careers that asshole fucked up?

Woke up in the middle of the night and that's what I picked up out of the pile.
I can barely stand swinging through Costco once a week. Or discovering I "really should get gas" on the way home from anywhere. Or knowing I'll have to get gas before I do something important tomorrow, like drive to work.
I'd have to develop whole new methods of entertainment, sustenance, productivity to keep a Tesla even charged much less maintained.

I always expect socks and a board game. It is just that when people start outright ranting about how nothing will change, we aren't voting our way out of this, and how anyone who doesn't agree completely is a delusional fool, I always start asking myself "Is the poster (1) venting steam, (2) trying to encourage us to start prepping for civil war, or (3) a hostile running a psyops?"
If it is a regular I'm inclined to believe number 1 is most likely with perhaps a side of number 2, but with new nics I think number 3 is a distinct possibility.

I'm not sure, but keeping the enemy emotional and angry keeps them from responding effectively. We see it all the time on the left - they continually sound like maniacs to normal people, and it is extremely off-putting, which is one reason why they lose. Also, convincing the enemy that he is continually losing has the long-term effect of discouraging them from fighting as hard.
If an angry right-winger decided to start the Civil War II on his own, now, and shot up the local Dem campaign office, that would might just be icing on the cake from the Left's perspective.
