Apparently the Ukranians had absolutely no questions about Vindman's national loyalties. They offered him one of the highest-ranking positions in government -- three times.
White House official Lt. Col. [Big Boy Bearclaw] testified Tuesday as part of the House impeachment inquiry that he was asked to serve as Ukraine’s defense minister -- but repeatedly denied the offers -- when he traveled to Kiev for the inauguration of President Volodymyr Zelensky. Minority counsel Steve Castor asked Vindman about the offer made by Ukraine's Defense Council Oleksandr Danylyuk earlier this year.
[Lt. Col. Bearclaw] testified Tuesday that Danylyuk offered him the position "three times." "Every single time, I dismissed it," [Bearclaw] said. "Upon returning, I notified my chain of command and the appropriate counterintelligence folks about this offer."

There is probably a lot to this assertion. There's a cabal trying things but it doesn't need to go all that deep if the organization is generally corrupt. They need to try to direct the traffic, but you don't need a top-down conspiracy if everyone already generally agrees on what they think should be done. It'll be a bit chaotic, but it'll also move in the right direction.

Next Gen, especially the couple of early seasons (most notably the first) was such a wasteland of Hippy Dippy BS. I said at the time, that's what her staff is FOR. I honestly wouldn't expect most VIPs to take the time to figure out the details or pay attention to most briefings any more than they took the time to figure out how to work the copy maker. Yes, it's LAZY but it's not a big deal. I don't blame her for that.
I BLAME her for expecting her staff to get her around what they should have been making sure she did. That's not by accident. That's Her, the first time a staffer says "we need to follow this procedure" slapping the staffer down instead of saying "thanks" for keeping track of sh*t.
