I don't see Presbyterians "dealing with heretics" outside the idea of church discipline and expulsion from the assembly.
If the Church of Climate were to do same, it would be a good thing - basically you are asked to not associate with them.
But the bigger issue of Climate as a Religion takes lead. In the Abrahamic faiths, obedience to God is a primary feature. Christianity and Islam have an eschatology that is of an un-earthly realm. Is there an analog within the Church of Climate?
Outside of Islam, Judaism and Catholicism where the faith is intermingled with a theocratic government/culture, aren't most religions focused on self-realization and self-improvement?
Maybe this idiot is thinking of the American Religion (Free-will Christianity) or pantheism or Wiccan which is just a vanity religion.
So Gaia worship may be in mind here. But the same way charlatans have hijacked religions throughout the millennia to anoint themselves as powerful, manipulative highly compensated and privileged "priests" (complete with temple prostitutes), they are also creating a system of coercion/compulsion that enslaves the masses to enrich the priesthood.
The point being, if a person is forced at gunpoint to participate in a religion, it ain't a religion, it is a mystic government that claims to be able to make laws and divine judgments based on exclusive dreams and angels.
So much for "separation of Church and State" that the Bradbury Baptists were promised by Jefferson when the Baptists were worried that the US would incorporate its own State Religion and demand fealty to it.

You know what? Original EPA Chief Scott Pruitt wanted to do exactly that. But Chief of Staff Kelly killed the plan because he thought it was "too divisive". Then he orchestrated a campaign to run Scott Pruitt out of D.C. because he wasn't "sufficiently deferential" to him.
Kelly was a big piece of shit. I rejoiced the day he finally got fired.

He's been talking a lot about how the increase in CO2 in the last 100 years is greening the planet in a way we've never seen before.
He also talks about how the % of CO2 in the atmo w was so LOW 18K years ago during the last major glaciation of the ice age we are currently in the middle of. In fact, the % was so low (180 ppm) that it was creeping down to the point (about 150 parts per million) where vegetation would start dying en masse, which of course would be the end of life on this planet.

I don't agree with him that humans are to blame for the increase in CO2, since CO2 percentage actually lags temperature by 800 years or so, rather than the other way around. I also think that Earth's temp has 99 percent to do with the Milankovitch Cycles (normal changes in the Earth's orbit around the Sun as well as changes in the Earth's axial tilt) and shit to do with CO2 percentage.
Anyway, he's great.

Jawaid Bazyar is the owner of a communications company named FORETHOUGHT.net. His building is adjacent to an alley where groups of homeless people, prostitutes and drug addicts hang out. Recently, the problem has spiraled out of control and people have been urinating and defecating in the alley, along with leaving discarded hypodermic needles on the ground.
Despite having complained to the police repeatedly, nothing seemed to change and Bazyar grew distraught at the prospect of his employees having to clean up the potentially hazardous waste. The city of Denver responded by issuing him a citation and fining him for not keeping the property clean. (CBS Denver)

Here is the thing, most of the folks in DC just are not that smart except about how to grub money and sell their influence. What has propped them up is the corrupt media and oligarchs funding them and their progeny. Anything that damages their personal mealticket is something they dislike by nature.
For the most part, Congress has more or less defaulted on every important decision for decades--deficit (never heard of it), immigration (punt), wars and peace (leave it up to the president but be sure to be loud in criticism). Why break a perfect record of incompetence and bloviating now?
What this is over is that McConnell and his Senate buddies want to continue to roger the Republic and want Trump to layoff killing off their happy hunting grounds and those of their patrons. They are terrified that the people will tear them apart from what they have done lest it be revealed.
Trump is like Samson, more or less he could kick over the temple and bring in down on their heads. So we get this endless talk talk talk and ridiculous impeachment processes.
