Mark Sanford, Alleged Challenger to Trump, Suspends Hypothetical Campaign In Order to Spend More Time With His Argentinian Side-Piece

Ahhh, muy calliente.

He says his failure is due to Democrats' success in launching an impeachment hearing.

What? Democrats try to impeach the sitting impeachment, and he says that prevents him from mounting a challenge to that president?

Whatever.

Mark Sanford dropped his challenge to President Donald Trump for the Republican presidential nomination on Tuesday, saying the focus on impeachment has made it impossible for his campaign to gain traction.

"You've got to be a realist," Sanford said outside the New Hampshire statehouse. "What I did not anticipate is an impeachment."

Various corporate-sponsored fake conservatives are weeping into their fake captains' hats.

180 "I have great respect for @MarkSanford - It's a shame that the GOP has rallied against fiscally conservative voices."

Question: When it came to the Porkbusters and the TEA Party movements, where were these people?

Question #2: When it came to Trump, where were these people? Specifically, what were they doing to try and keep the deficits down, to control spending? Did they try to work out at least some kind of deal? Or did they throw the train in reverse and back out of that station, just because Trump is putting the Bully in the Bully Pulpit?

Question #3: With the roaring economy, what are the numbers for current tax intake? Seems like, even with Trump-Cuts (R), we may be looking at a big windfall simply by way of volume. But you don't hear ANYTHING from what I can tell, 9/10ths because the MSM is shying away from economy reporting. If we do have record increases to go with a record economy, it just shows that, like trying to f*** yourself out of having AIDS, you can't spend your way out of debt.

That's because they never get elected. About 75% of government spending is military and entitlements. Another 5% or so interest on the debt. The rest is discretionary.

Nobody ever does squat about entitlements because the truth is nobody wants theirs cut. And military spending only ratchets one way too.

Until we cut entitlements and military spending I'm not getting worked up over spending any longer. We'll either get serious about it or wait for the crash.

I understand. Well, entitlements only work one way - military spending gyrates in a limited space - so, naw, tackling this type of spending isn't even a consideration in the next two election cycles.

Saying you are going to cut fraud, waste and abuse is saying you're going to cut a one acre lawn with a pair of nose hair scissors.

Jack Kemp was famous for saying that politics is about going for first downs and not throwing bombs for touchdowns - conservatives will have to what for their "touchdown bomb" on spending - let's get the courts straightened out, cut regulations, taxes, fix healthcare to be more market oriented, continue a smart foreign policy and trade rules - we'll do okay...

The Net financial position of the United States as a while, private and everything is around $100T +, supposedly, subtracting the on-paper value of the assets vs liabilities.

Now, just imagine what would happen if you tried to sell it all at once. It would drive the price down to oh, well, a lot less than on-paper value.

The federal govt is nothing but a $13T hole. Now, add the unfunded liabilities and you'll come up with close to $50T.

If you want to see it from the horse's mouth, he's the financial statement of the Treasury for fiscal 2018:

https://fiscal.treasury.gov/reports-statements/
financial-report/balance-sheets.html

Remove line feed. It's considerably worse, and the above -$13T figure, adds some more to offset it somehow.

Anyway, the Net assets of Uncle Sam are $3.8T. The Net liabilities are $25.7T. (this includes things like guarantees and shit beyond the official national debt).

292 Almost all money presently in the world is vapor anyway. Its just in 1's and 0's, it doesn't exist anywhere but on paper. I don't mean its economic growth, I mean its based on estimates and just by god invention and not based on a damned bit of reality. No assets, no property, nothing.

This isn't the same as money based on what an economy is estimated to have value. Its just scraped out of the rear end of bankers and investors, who do things like literally sell properties which are worthless or in debt then write down that this sold for actual dollars. Then they move it around more between each other, each time getting money.

Its almost all bullshit, its a game of musical chairs and when the music stops, there will be chairs for all the big wigs and fat cats and nothing for the rest of us.

I doubt anyone really believes it. And all governments do this. It's one of the problems. Govts are supposed to set the rules, be the referees for the financial markets. But they are also big players in those same markets (borrowing).

So they make the rules to favor their borrowing, preventing true "market forces" from determining their risk.
