Wall Street Democrats Shutting Their Wallets to Senate Democrat Candidates Due to Fears of Elizabeth Warren Becoming the Presidential Candidate

Joe Biden's a socialist too.

So what's the problem, Venture Socialists?

Some finance executives have recently told Chuck Schumer that they are holding back from donating to Democrats running for Senate in 2020 due to their concerns about Elizabeth Warren, sources say.

"They feel, rightly or wrongly, attacked. Not just that there will be higher taxes but that she is running her entire campaign as them being boogeymen," says a person familiar with the deliberations.

No offense, assholes, but if you're going to consistently spend a billion dollars every four years to get a socialist candidate elected, it's about time that you, the pipers calling this tune, started to pay for the tune.

If you're going to keep agitating for socialism, Wall Street liberals, I say: You shall have socialism good and hard. With some not-entirely-tacit support from the right.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

I'm tired of this class of people always pushing socialism and tyranny but then demanding that this class alone be protected and insulated from the politics they push on the country.

The donors' signals to Schumer come as they are increasingly frustrated with former Vice President Joe Biden’s campaign, which has lagged behind Warren, Sen. Bernie Sanders and South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg.

...

Some finance executives have recently told Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer that they are, for the moment, holding back from donating to Democrats running for Senate in 2020 due to their concerns with Warren becoming a front-runner in the race for the party’s presidential nomination, according to people familiar with the conversations. These people spoke on the condition of anonymity due to the private nature of the talks.

8 Maybe Wall Street guys bought into the idea that Corporatism and Capitalism were practically the same thing.

I mean, Corporatism is closer to Fascism than Capitalism and Fascism is just another form of Socialism.

They're really just asking for it by constantly using their money to prop up a corporatist system.

But the only way to pay for Warren's free everything plan ... is to do TARP times Ten. (MMT, Modern Monetary Theory) ZIRP (or even negative rates) and QE to infinity. But they can't talk about that ... no idea if Warren is on board with the globalist plan (global currency?) or not ... if they are not backing her, maybe not.

But, once the dems officially announce a wealth tax and ban US energy production, Wall Street will have to make a choice between corporatism and socialism, and we know what that choice will be.

Yes. Even the period of the "good" emperors, from just after Domitian until Commodus, only lasted about one human lifetime. Each emperor, like Trajan, would select an adult citizen to succeed him and train him for the job.

Then Marcus Aurelius decided his son Commodus (who would have preferred to be a gladiator, as long as he won all his fights) was qualified to be emperor of a state that ran from Spain to Mesopotamia and from Britannia to North Africa.

However, where I'm fine with that, though, if it should God forbid happen, is she (or whoever) will no way, no how be able to restrain themselves from going full-on iron fist totalitarian (You know Obama wanted to, but he never had the balls for it). And the first thing they'll go for this way is the guns (Warren has already stated she will do this.) A lot of eyes will be opened.

USAF Airman Falls From MC-130 Ten Miles Out in Gulf of Mexico, Search Underway.

U.S. Air Force and Coast Guard search and rescue crews are searching for an unidentified crewmember who fell out of the back of a C-130 cargo aircraft ten miles into the Gulf of Mexico during the day on Tuesday.

An updated report published by Fox News and attributed to the Air Force Times said that, "The fall happened during a parachute-jump training exercise out of Hurlburt Field."

An additional report from Florida's WKRG-TV said that the search operation was underway, "about a mile and a half south of Santa Rosa Island, Fla., along the Florida Panhandle".

A report from WEAR-TV in Florida went on to say, "The Coast Guard said the airman, identified only as a staff sergeant, dropped about 1,500 feet into the water and his parachute deployed."

Additional reports said that crewmembers on board the C-130 aircraft had spotted the airman on the surface, treading water, but lost sight of him as the aircraft maneuvered following the incident.

self-defeating this "well give them socialism" thing is, right? Because it means moving society to a completely state-centric authoritarian model, empowering the state, and making rent-seeking and corporatism ten times worse than they already are. As well as mostly killing the golden
goose of a fairly open economy.

And folks like you, that insist on pulling the social rope - just to keep things working a little longer - only prolong the inevitable and enable their stupid shit.

It really is part of the problem. They need to suffer the consequences of their actions. Yes - we'll suffer along with them. That's the price to be paid.

Just think of the joy of watching their misery. It'll be worth it.

Absolutely. A phrase a professor used in college stuck with me. He said 'Guys like Samuel Addams saw tyranny crawling in the windows.'

It is not like he was wrong. Tyranny has been slowly making incremental changes (sometimes faster, sometimes slower) for years. The state of things today would horrify the founders. So much power concentrated in the government.

Again: We should not be this worried about which political party is in power. If things were working like they should have, we would be going 'meh.' However, we have made deals, sometimes for good ends, which always resulted in more and more power being concentrated at the top. To the point that it DOES matter one whole hell of a lot who is in power.

332 At the very least the hedge fund guys need to have their tax loophole closed. The only reason it hasn't been is that they have Schumer and Republicans in their pockets. It works like this. The hedge fund guy gets paid by investors not in cash, but in shares of the fund. That's what makes it theoretical(though less dumb than income tax rates).

1. Tax codes have heavy input from the wealthy(and so such taxes invariably shrink or disappear).
2. Effective revenue generation isn't possible from the small group of wealthy.

I read the story and had the same reaction to the headlines initially. I read a bit further and evidently the city council had chosen a historic street to change the name of just recently. The council had also not sought public input and had pretty much done it by fiat. From what I read, the city was not rebelling against King, but rather a tyrannical council and wanted the historic street brought back and the ability to vote on some other street being named for King.

388 Look, as dicey as things are right now, could you imagine where we would be right now if Felonious were not such a god-awful candidate and actually made an extra trip or two to MI, PA and WI?

A bitterly-divided GOPe in open civil-war (all egged-on by "our friends" in the media, of course). Democrats probably would have regained the HOR and Senate majorities in 2018. And we'd be staring at the very real possibility of all-out war on multiple fronts in the ME.

So, it could be much, much worse.

389 just to game it out, a narrow airline aisle is a weapon itself because it restricts movement so much, it's virtually one-dimensional combat. Ordinarily rushing a man with a knife would cause him to simply sidestep the move and strike - but with no room to sidestep, a bum-rush attack with something to catch the blade out front is hard for him to beat.

better yet, do what the Flight 93 passengers did and use the food cart to rumble down the aisle.

Had a friend of the family that was a legit "fighter" - back in the late 70s, early 80s - before MMA was a thing here. He did the ToughMan contests and such - and did pretty well.

He always told my young ass "Don't fight for fun, but if you have to, don't do it empty handed". I took that lesson to heart.

I never understood the wisdom in spelling out Doctor Martin Luther King Junior on the street sign, and just to make sure that they used enough paint, choose not something short like "Road" or "Street", but of all names choose "Boulevard".

Also, it would seem to me that having MLK "Boulevard" nearby is like having a curse that will take any thriving community and turn it into Mogadishu within a few short years.
