So he's got to build his life and fortunes back up again. It's a good series (so far -- we're part-way through the first season) and we recommend it.

Fox News most recent poll looks like April all over again. Biden at about 30, Bernie edging out Warren for 2d, Harris at 4th ahead of Buttigieg, and Beto in sixth with Yang way back in the lower tiers, Tulsi at zero.

Police arrested Sanchez Montalvo in connection with the mass drug overdoses on the South Side.
He was taken into custody without incident at a house in McKees Rocks 3 a.m. this morning.
Investigators confirmed that Sanchez - Montalvo was at the Insomnia Discotec in Brookline on Saturday night, where orange wristbands were distributed to patrons. All of the overdose victims wore orange wristbands.

One issue is that it gets darker and darker as it progresses, but that comes from the novels it is based on. It's a really good historical drama, and the setting in Cornwall is a nice break from what's usually portrayed.

It was best in its first two seasons. An interesting exploration of Scottish culture and history with a decent story at the center of it.
Ever since, it's been random adventures that feel just out of place. The second half of season 3 was probably the low point. Just a new threat or obstacle every half episode. There was no longer an overarching story, it was just new stuff to deal with.
The 4th season picked up a bit. It's back to pretty good, though I don't think it'll ever get as good as its first two seasons were.

It was best in its first two seasons. An interesting exploration of Scottish culture and history with a decent story at the center of it.
Ever since, it's been random adventures that feel just out of place. The second half of season 3 was probably the low point. Just a new threat or obstacle every half episode. There was no longer an overarching story, it was just new stuff to deal with.
The 4th season picked up a bit. It's back to pretty good, though I don't think it'll ever get as good as its first two seasons were.

The AP would be a far better choice for targeted acquisition by a conservative op. Most newspapers on the ropes. If you don't subscribe to your local daily (you probably don't), go to a restaurant or someplace that has them and leaf through it. Count the articles from local reporters vs articles from the AP or Reuters.
Taking over Reuters would be hard because Thomson just did a big maneuver that will keep them healthy for a while. AP, though, is vulnerable. If a conservative or conservative cabal were to exercise a clandestine takeover, it could have gigantic cultural implications if done carefully over a couple of years.

Trump simply doesn't have the ability, or the time in office to be more corrupt than Biden. The idea is laughable.

I was referring to the rot in the humanities in general and history is always at the top of my mind since I studied it in school. But it is very distressing to hear that about the UNC J-School. The way that history is taught makes this move irrelevant in reality, but philosophically it is a pretty serious demerit.

It's a good idea, but it would have to be very clandestine.
As soon as word got out, all of those news services would immediately shift their dollars for wire service and pool footage to T/R, AFP, DPA, UPI - anyone but AP.
I think you'd have to quietly lock them into exclusivity agreements before they knew what happened to them.

It's occurred to me that given his public statements over several years, that it's downright disturbing that he's a prosecutor...
With his mode of reasoning about criminal activity, I can't imagine it would be hard for a good government watchdog (LOL, I know) to come up with enough evidence to have him fired, at the very least.

Think about it--a bunch of people without real jobs live in a fabulous apartment suite and they never, never have to worry about money. I'm sure every "social justice" or "feminist theory" student thought, "Yeah, that's what's going to happen!"
Then reality set in, and they're working at a Starbucks with a huge student debt and no real future.
Because leftists are incapable of discarding their fantasies when reality appears, naturally they are angry that "the system" has failed to make their fantasies real.
I blame "Friends" for a lot of this.

In an early episode we were told that Monica had the fabulous apartment because it belonged to her and Ross's grandmother; she was subletting it. But that was only mentioned once -- it'd be easy to miss.
And there was a story where Joey, Phoebe, and Rachel were upset because the other three earned more than they did, and going to expensive places to eat was really hard on them. Of course that kind of nod to reality vanished as the show went on.

I was in college when SNL began. I would watch it sporadically through the first casts run. I think I might have watched a comlete episode once, but no more than once. Always thought it would have been better if they cut the last half hour. The gems to crap ratio was just too low.
