The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

“A lot is happening in Washington and across this great country of ours. And it’s because we have a president who is a true leader. And I believe will be regarded as one of this country’s greatest presidents.” Lou Dobbs

Quote II

"They are not dangerous animals. They are trained. They assist me. I have PTSD because of something that happened to me, a very bad thing that happened to me a long time ago,” Texanne McBride-Teahan

Quote III

“This action cost our community many, many millions of dollars in lost commerce,” Sean Teare, a Harris County prosecutor

Quote IV

Quote V

“I believe that our country has become excessively punitive and vindictive about remarks that people find offensive or racist and that we need to try and move beyond that if we can,” Presidential candidate Andrew Yang

Do you have a sh!t ton of cash burning a hole in your pocket? Do you want to make a scene? Boy oh boy, this show is right up your alley.

Michelle Obama must really need the extra cash to pay for that new Martha’s Vineyard mansion that she and her husband, Barack Obama, bought — ticket prices for her latest event are through the roof.

The former first lady is hosting an event called “A Moderated Conversation with Michelle Obama,” and ticket prices are as high as $4,200 each.

What insights could she give? She's nothing more than an unaccomplished individual with a chip on her shoulder.

Vapers are quitting and going back to smoking.

E-cigarettes, long touted as a healthier way to move off the original cancer sticks, suddenly face an alarming bad rap: mysterious lung diseases; random explosions during use; a link with cancer and heart disease.

At the same time, the devices’ so-called strengths have become weaknesses. Users originally drawn to the cheap hit—you get more nicotine for less cash—now find that it’s not always ideal to be able surreptitiously suck on the sticks wherever you choose, whether in subways or school hallways.

There could be a dangerous bias against people undergoing cancer treatment.

There Seems to Be a Big Issue When It Comes to Single People Being Treated For Cancer

When it comes to receiving cancer treatment, your marital status might make a significant difference in the level of medical care you get, according to a new study.

University of Delaware researcher Joan DelFattore suggests there's a subtle bias at work when physicians weigh up which treatments best suit their patients' needs - one that prizes a spouse's support above all others, in sickness and in health.

DelFattore, a professor emerita of English and legal studies, was inspired by her life experience as a cancer patient to delve into a close examination of literature analysing data from the US National Cancer Institute database.

US armed forces die in part to protect every day citizens free speech rights. They even die for this worthless company, Face Book.

Mary Ann Mendoza is not a popular woman among tech companies, it seems.

Mendoza, an “angel mom” whose son was killed by a drunk driver that was illegally in this country, was suspended from Twitter in July for doing what she’s done for years: Posting about illegal immigration.

Now, according to Breitbart, Facebook has done something similar. Not only has it taken down two of her posts for violating “Community Standards on hate speech,” she says the donation button on her organization’s page has been permanently removed, according to Breitbart.

#MuhPrinicples echos the cuckservatives.

'Then came the lawyers, then came the rules'

A Federal Judge Says Anheuser-Busch Can't Advertise MillerCoors' Use of Corn Syrup

One of the best things about the otherwise tedious Super Bowl broadcast earlier this year was the debut of a mildly amusing, medieval-themed Bud Light beer commercial that attacked rivals Miller Lite and Coors Light over the latter two's use of corn syrup as an ingredient in their respective brewing processes.

"Bud Light," one such ad closes. "Brewed with no corn syrup."

That is, by all accounts, a true statement. But it's also one that helped spur MillerCoors, which brews (as its name implies) Miller Lite and Coors Light, to file a federal lawsuit in Wisconsin against Bud Light brewer Anheuser-Busch.

The Bud Light ad, court documents state, "claims that Miller Lite and Coors Light are 'made with' or 'brewed with' corn syrup." All parties to the lawsuit agree that MillerCoors uses corn syrup as an ingredient in brewing both Miller Lite and Coors Light.

The crux of MillerCoors's claims against Anheuser-Busch, then, is that "when viewed as a whole, [the advertisements] deceive[] consumers into believing that Miller Lite and Coors Light final products actually contain corn syrup and thus are unhealthy and inferior to Bud Light."

Something is better than nothing, even if it is less than one wanted. The makers of OxyContin file for bankruptcy after several states reject their offer of settlement.

At a time when some 130 Americans are dying every day from opioid-related overdoses, Purdue is hoping that its settlement will placate most of these plaintiffs, allowing the company to restructure and emerge from bankruptcy, likely under new ownership. Though many litigants agreed to the company's settlement proposal last week, a number of holdouts, including two dozen states, refused, insisting on more onerous terms for Purdue, the New York Times reports.

The company was the first to introduce fast-acting OxyContin to market in the 1990s, the drug that more than any other pharmaceutical has been blamed for jump-starting the opioid crisis.

Too drunk to fly? No problem for our Genius Award Winner.

A furious ballerina kicked a police officer in the testicles after being told she was too drunk to get on a plane.

Daiana Andreas Rivera found herself in a confrontation with cops at Heathrow airport after fellow passengers told staff she had had too much to drink.

They saw the 33-year-old being 'drunk and disorderly' in the airport Wetherspoon.

When she was approached by staff Ms Rivera kicked one in the genitals and scratched another in the face.

Officers searched her they found she had a lock knife in her possession.

Elevated gardens. Tonight's Feel Good Story of The Day.

After Terry Garrett witnessed his ailing brother lose the ability to pursue his love of gardening, he took it upon himself to ensure that anybody—regardless of whether they are confined to a wheelchair—could keep their green thumbs in the dirt.

Garrett is the mastermind behind the Elevated Garden: a tabletop garden that has been designed specifically for people in wheelchairs. The idea for the elevated garden was born after his brother was diagnosed with Stage IV chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

74 For people who don't know who National Womens' Hall of Fame honoree Angela Davis is, google Judge Harold Haley. She supplied the shotgun that Haley's kidnappers used to shoot him in the head.

Angela Davis is the worst of the worst. It is jaw-dropping that that bloodthirsty commie bitch even dares to live in America, let alone be honored. Wikipedia calls her a "political activist, academic, and author."

Those were very bad times in the USA, with radicals and bomb-throwers terrorizing us, and our colleges were quickly cowed by them into becoming the fountain of America-hatred that they remain to this day.

134 Hadrian,

Willowed but directed to you:

I'm one of those "best if used by date" guys. Way past. I went through a massive lull in work a few years ago. I ended up completely rewriting my resume in a certain way that is fashionable these days.

My original style was pretty technical and was directed at hiring managers. Now it's happy, happy, joy, joy eyewash with hip kewords for the scanners and "Britineys" in HR. Over half the people I talk to initaly have no idea of what is involved with the terms involved.

I admit I was proud of my accomplishments but thay is not what gets you to the next level these days, plus you need to loose all but the lat 20 years of your career and drop all the dates on your degrees, etc.

I don't want to piss you off but the jobs are out here, even for mature folks. Employers seem desperate. The economy is very hot. It's embarrasing getting several calls a day from recuiters while I'm at work.

It's important to get your resume in front of actual hiring managers. They are dying for qualified people, hence the interest in folks who have "way too much experience".

There is a popular website that can help you find out who is behind the curtain at companies. A GOOD recruiter is nice to have too. Suprisingly (not) sales people know who's hiring and buying new equipment and who has work in the pie.

Don't give up! Things are happening for us >>29 folks.

They hired white-hater Sarah Jeong as an editor, a position she is clearly unqualified for, just to defiantly twist the knife into us. They are a cadre of abnormal foaming freaks, determined to destroy this country.

because he could gain 5 EV in 2020. He was close in 2016, and NM has always had problems with enough jobs.

Trump's energy policies have increased jobs and income for many, especially in NM

Remember when he went to NH (or was it Vermont?) for the one EV in 2016, where they split their EV by district? He went there 3 or 4 times. For one EV.

Plus the Latino push could be a breakthrough led by NM.

Lately I've been sick of fast food teenagers who don't listen.

[I place my order and say, "to go"]

"It's to go."
"Would you like some ketchup packets?"
"No thanks."
"Okay, we got it. It's for here or to go?"
"It's to go."
"And we'll throw some ketchup in there for you"
"I don't need any thanks"
"Did you want it here or to go?"

It is past the dinner rush hour.
There are at least 10 people wondering around doing important things like FUCKING NOTHING

We place our order and find an open table. Table is fucking dirty. Across the aisle is the garbage receptacle. Both bins are full.

Wait forever for the food. It comes out with some pimpled face HS kid saying, "Bon Appetite." I'm in fucking Rhinelander, WI not Paris, TX let alone France. So we digest the dinner.

We normally don't grab desert but tonight is different. We go up to the counter to order. Lots of young people working but no one over the age of 23 supervising. We have folks not changing gloves, not wearing gloves, not wearing beard nets, etc.

So we order the 2 waffle cones and we wait for 10 minutes. Finally I said to the Mrs. lets grab one of these custard pints to go. Cheaper than the 2 cones. So we went up there to change our order. The kid behind the counter said we had to wait our turn as there were people standing in line behind us who were there before us.

Fuck you you little pimple nose prick. I left Mrs. Mis Hum grabbed the stuff and we left.

I grabbed a comment card for this Family Style Fast Food Restaurant based in Sauk City WI not naming names, right Craig Culver.

Sometimes chains get bought by some soulless conglomerate, advised by MBA consultants who earn fat fees by giving the same advice to all their clients: cut corners, scrimp, abandon founding principles. Stock price goes up, value is sucked out, chain goes down the tubes.

Even places we go to frequently can have bad nights. Often we quietly let the manager know, say we're telling them as a friend, and refuse (or try to) any refund.

On the other hand, we let the manager know when we had a good meal and good service. Their relief is palpable.

Culver's was really good. Went to another one closer to Milwaukee once, also really good.

But it didn't increase their ad revenue, by getting more and more partisan they're driving it away. There's not one single person who didn't subcribe to the NYT who saw that story and said "oh wow I will subscribe!" Even left wing site Politico has run a story saying that the NYT has no journalistic standards whatsoever.

Canuckistani White Guy, who suppresses all the "ehs" and never drinks more than a case of Labatt at a time to remain comprehensible.

Texas White Guy, who can use every topic as a vehicle for explaining why your state is sad and little and degenerate and Texas is best.

422 My Reno data is from 3-4 day visits, but positive. Not a Brentwood or a La Jolla feel/look, to be sure, but move around/look around and there's plenty to like [as always depends on individual preference/taste]. Friendly people, in my experience. Actually just in random retail situations, as a bystander, observed a good amount of local identity and awareness.

I go there for the snow up in the mountains to the west. But we like the desert/western landscape. Go north of town and there's an awesome county shooting range complex, just past the BLM wild horse center, which is cool to visit. And beyond that Pyramid Lake, a yuuuuge and impressive bit of scenery. Local branch of the U of NV generates some local team spirit and decent sports.

The craft brewery/distillery I mentioned is in a fairly gritty party of town, across from the bus station - but "gritty" in a mid-sized western city is cheese-ass, nothing like, say, Port Authority back in the [pre-Giuliani] day.

With a shared parking lot and 15O feet away from the brewery [the very nicely revamped original train station] is one of the oldest and most storied Basque places, Louie's Basque Corner [haven't been there yet]. Though a very nice bartender at the Depot advised that a Basque place down the road in Minden.

One of the founders of the local outfit that got attacked by ATF for 8O% AR lowers/no-serial-number rifles, last time he was testing uppers out at the range, said he was likely bailing out to move to Minden [where firearm businesses are welcome]. Infuriating. He's lifelong local, loves the ocean, being driven out by the idiocy of his fellow citizens.

455 When liquidating my late Step Mom's estate, I researched the Coin Mavens in the Houston area, and wow, were their reputations all over the place, from good to bad and everything in between.

Short version, I found my way to get the most value out of the stockpile. Stuff my Dad had collected (he passed in 2010) had the most value, as he actually knew his stuff and did research.

Stuff Step Mom had amassed lost a small fortune, 'cause she bought crap from places like Franklin Mint, which specializes in selling little old ladies overpriced, nearly value-less "junk" nickels, dimes and quarters, bundled as "collections", of this or that.

Where I made the most value per ounce, was in getting the "melt" value from her jewelry case. Most everything in there was suited for nothing but "melt", and the various stones and such, were all but valueless junk, save for a couple of spectacular opals.

And those "collectable plates"?

You'll get the most value from those, by using them for skeet practice.

A friend of mine has a photo of his young daughter perched on an old Russian sea mine washed up on the beach in Estonia. There are a bunch of them there, and apparently they are inert, as the Estonian government has done nothing to remove them. I am sort of skeptical of how "inert" they are. It would be fun to set up a half-mile away, behind a berm, and plink at the mine "horns" with a Mosin-Nagant.

Use the full 8 lb. batch of Tannerite.

Use a paper cone from an ice-cream cone, in the Tannerite, as to create a "Shaped Charge", wedge the jar tightly up against the mine, with the wide-mouth of said cone up against the mine.

.30-'06 or greater. Range, at least 400 yards.

You want to be that far back from any shipping mine, and you've still got to put some serious energy "on target", even from a quarter mile out.

That mine's not "inert". Maybe the "horns" are, maybe they're not.

But that mine's core charge will surely still make an earth shattering ka-boom.

Climbed on a T-54 in Eritrea, but it had been gone over for years by locals, so no fear of boom-boom. Did have to monitor my friends, however, to stay on the road at various obvious former strong-point locations on the roads in the south there.

And once when taking a nature's-call break on a work road trip, for some reason we stopped in the world's largest abandoned/destroyed former city, had to edumucate a colleague to stay on the pavement. "Huh? Why?" In this case, easy to explain - machine-gun links and tarnished brass and other stuff pretty visible everywhere in the rubble. You'd think he'd have cued off the utter destruction and the fact the local driver was staying on the pavement.

Hell, for that matter, an early '70s Sony World Receiver.

Pound for pound, ounce for ounce, I think the pre-"chip", solid state, post-vacuum tube electronics set the benchmark for stereo, shortwave, and hell, even simple, cheap portable AM radio quality.

The only downside being, they were battery hogs. That's the "chip" advantage, the efficiency.

But you want a clear audio signal on your radio? Then you want a vintage '70s unit of some better quality than from a Fingerhut catalog.

Posted by: Blonde Morticia

Ha, in EVE Online (a spaceship game), many FCs (fleet commanders) call specific, vulnerable ships (like a 'tackle' ship - one that immobilizes another ship, but has weak defenses) 'special snowflakes'. They are put on a special list for the logistics part of the fleet, so that they are always having their shields or armor repaired, so they can survive.
Anyway, I thought it funny how that term has propagated.

I believe this is a real plan. No Fault Divorce. Promotion of single motherhood. Destruction of black family. Atheism becoming anti-christianity. Social Security disability promoted as a career.

I believe in real evil and just watch a few democrat debates if you do not. Watch these people lie, cheat, and promise to steal money or power from one group and somehow share that with another. Not 1 single democrat candidate offered up a new freedom for American and most agree that of the few freedoms we do have that those need to be regulated, controlled, or even ended.

Now we have about 30 million people living here illegally that are being granted a status greater than citizenship. Immunity from taxes and laws. Free healthcare and education, now even higher education. There is not one single dem candidate that would not throw you out of your house, into the street, and give your property away to an illegal if they could figure out how to get it on the books.

The militarization of the police has happened in most big cities with democrats at the helm. Has crime gone down? Are the streets safer? No, because that was never the plan. The plan was that police can force law abiding citizens to sit in their little houses and be good citizens.

We are now into our 11th or 12th year of the race wars. Obama started it with a push and a nudge, now everything is about white privilege. The Melanin Wars for you guilty as charged and condemned to punishment for your color. So what started out as please stop doing bad things to black (which was mostly a dem problem to begin), to blacks are equal, to black are better, and now whites are bad, therefore USA is bad and must be destroyed.
