Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Gloria Allred's Daughter, Lisa Bloom, Begged for Work from Harvey Weinstein, Arguing That As Someone Who Posed as a Feminist, She'd Be the Perfect Person to Undermine and Attack Weinstein's AccusersIt's all a grift, and it's all about Identity Politics. If you have the right Identity, you can do anything. You can weaponize and monetize your Identity. If you have the right Identity, you can do all the nasty things you claim people with the Wrong Identity do, and get paid and praised for it.In "She Said," which Variety has obtained, lawyers Lisa Bloom and David Boies emerge as ruthless advocates on behalf of Weinstein. Kantor and Twohey include a damning memo from Bloom to Weinstein from December 2016 that is a six-point plan for him to fight McGowan, and also to repair his reputation. Toward the end of the memo, Bloom wrote, "A reminder: would you please connect me with David Boies so that I can get retained?" ... Weinstein knew [Rose] McGowan was writing a memoir, and was positive she was going to expose him, which is why Bloom focused on undermining the actor. Alter’s story quotes from Bloom's memo: "I feel equipped to help you against the Roses of the world, because I have represented so many of them." Bloom also adds: "We can place an article re her becoming increasingly unglued, so that when someone Googles her this is what pops up and she's discredited."Rose McGowan called for Bloom to be disbarred -- because that's the go-to move, calling for deplatforming. I don't know that this kind of thing, which has nothing to do with a courtroom, is even covered by bar rules. Maybe it is. I dunno. Full email below.

She can represent her client zealously. She can't lie to a court, but she could certainly plant these types of articles. >>Worth repeating: A lot of liberal women assume conservative men are scum because the *good* liberal men they know are creepers and perverts and clearly conservative men *must* be worse.
Nope. - - - What really pisses me off is how women in the entertainment and media industries assume that the sexualized, sexually abusive, (and racist) behavior happens in other industries to the same degree, and say "Yes, Weinstein is a monster, and it's time we declare this behavior off-limits blah blah blah." Rose McGowan had some summit where she screamed from the lecturn about how ALL MEN were rapists. No. NJNBHN. This behavior is most prevalent in your industries, where one's where success is dependent on a good bit of luck/right time-right place, so that getting that one key role or that one good onscreen story that might result in huge fame and riches is worth a few BJs/sleeping with the executives. Most peoples offices aren't run like Hollywood or NBC, not even close. Hell, we've had to receive mandatory sexual harassment prevention courses regularly since your hero Anita Hill testified, and we are oh-so very conscious of every touch, every joke, every thing that might make it a hostile work environment. Posted by: Patrick From Ohio at September 10, 2019 02:39 PM (dKiJG) --- In Old Hollywood, starlets understood that theirs was a limited-time occupation, like professional sports. After a few good years, they'd age out so the priority was to make money and snare a husband. A few of the better actresses realized they could continue to get roles as ageing courtesans, or mothers and the like and had long, successful careers. But since then, things have taken a darker turn and this is why you get so much rage coming from middle-aged "it" girls. They got used, passed around and now they wonder why they bothered. Money and success didn't make them happy, so they rage on twitter. It's really quite sad. Posted by: Convalescing Author A.H. Lloyd at September 10, 2019 02:45 PM (cfSRQ) 118

California lawyer Lisa Bloom's efforts included offering to sell alleged victims' stories to TV outlets in return for a commission for herself, arranging a donor to pay off one Trump accuser's mortgage and attempting to secure a six-figure payment for another woman who ultimately declined to come forward after being offered as much as $750,000, the clients told The Hill. The women's accounts were chronicled in contemporaneous contractual documents, emails and text messages reviewed by The Hill, including an exchange of texts between one woman and Bloom that suggested political action committees supporting Hillary Clinton were contacted during the effort. I really don't think there's anything ideological or
strategic about the cucks and what they do. They do what they do for the same reasons they ever did anything: the paycheck. And when Conservative, Inc went belly up, they just transferred to a new employer, and that's the Left. Posted by: Yudhishthira's Dice at September 10, 2019 03:07 PM (AzW6q) --- Their Greatest Moment was destroying the Birchers back in the 60s. They talk about it all the time. No one now at National Review was involved - most weren't even alive - but they still claim credit for that. That's how they still see themselves. Their job is the make the right safe for the left. That's why they talk about "civility" all the time, and bash conservatives who use "coarse language." Note that this doesn't apply to them dealing with conservatives they don't like. They drop gay prono references all over the place if they're targeting someone on the right. Part of this is because they are sexually dysfunctional and very very angry. Kevin Williamson was publicly cucked, for example. David French can't trust his wife to so much as talk to a man without him hovering around her. Jonah Goldberg lives at neighborhood bars. And so on. Unless she also represented McGowan or another accuser or toherwise had a relationship that would be violated by these proposed actions, this is not a violation of bar rules.
She can represent her client zealously. She can't lie to a court, but she could certainly plant these types of articles. The stories would not be evidence, and she could not introduce them as such, especially knowing them to be false. That would be disbarrable. Posted by: Vairish84 at September 10, 2019 02:40 PM (3vtHv) And so if she plants fake stories, can Rose Gowan eventually sue her for defamation? No, because she is a public figure? See , this is where we are now when those charged with defending and prosecuting the law support and shrug their shoulders at the anything goes outside of court and bar rules. Because as far as I'm concerned , finding a lawyer with personal ethics and morals is more difficult than finding Amelia Earhardt. Nothing she writes even comes close to rising to a violation of the Code of Professional Responsibility.
She's outlining possible strategies for her client including modern day social media strategy. Her "discrediting Rose" stuff specifically points out she would be relying on publicly available information. She's not talking about making shit up. In fact, she's pretty accurate about Rose --she took the money then and wants to complain now because she doesn't have a career. Same with Ashley Judd. The only thing this does prove, which we already knew, is that Bloom is a partisan hack who only cares about the money (not "victims") as long as the target isn't Democrats. She refers to Trumps pussy tape from 20 years ago as a reason to show that Weinstein evolved on the subject. She would NEVER allow someone to say Trump had evolved on the subject as well. Do you put up a stink about making Old Joe shave? Why or why not?
Posted by: Bandersnatch at September 10, 2019 03:32 PM (UfSnB) Probably not, because it's a petty thing. However, if say Old Joe got paid for overtime and I did not and we were both professionals, that I would agitate for. I manage to not concern myself with petty stuff. I don't want my sons smoking dope (I use that term because it pisses them off) because it's illegal and I think it makes you fat and stupid. However, I have a 50 year old nephew (born to my now gone brother who was 19 years older than me so I'm only 5 years older, 29) and he has horrific stenosis. His mother over-dosed on pain pills from the same stenosis and he uses weed to deal with the pain. So I don't care if he smokes weed because 1. He's not my kid and it's none of my f-ing business, and 2. I don't blame him for not wanting to get on the opioid bus. So when it comes to "old joe" maybe there's a reason. Maybe he has terrible acne scars or razor bumps or he had a beard before they made the rule. I can only control what I do, what my kids do esp if I'm paying for it, and what my husband does---and even then I have to be slightly reasonable. Pains me to say so. Do I go full bitch at a new job? No. Posted by: dagny at September 10, 2019 03:42 PM (nRWPy) 346
