Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Angels And Ministers Of Grace Defend The ONTOK, I got a lot of good feedback about last Friday's dump ONT, so I'm going to do another one. This one, however, has a theme! There's a popular meme that's been going around Twitter and Facebook for a while now, the premise is the back and forth between God and the angels (and sometimes Adam) as he's creating the world. Like this:What follows are the best ones I've been able to find over the past week, along with several that I wrote myself. I find these screamingly funny. Enjoy. He was arrested but so far I have not heard of one thing he did that is illegal unless scaring the shit out of everyone counts.

I've thought of a meme to help the Biden campaign respond to Trump's criticism about how he'd be soft on the Chinese. It's that picture of Biden groping a terrified Chinese child, and it says across the top "IF YOU THINK JOE BIDEN CAN'T SCARE THE CHINESE," and at the bottom, "THINK AGAIN."

Cape Cod sure is a pretty place to visit, but dear LAWD, the leftism there is beyond measure. OK, here's my Disney pitch: Remake Miracle.
Take the original and add a scene in which a young Donald Trump makes his first yuge international deal by convincing a Politburo member that it'd be all-around great if the Big Red Machine threw the game against USA. Maybe, Trump says, if the USA wins then Americans will feel good about their country and re-elect Carter, which is good for the Soves. The Soviet official agrees and gives the order to the hockey coach. People here will think it's a documentary and the game will make sense in that Team USA, representing a nation that sucks, couldn't possibly beat the USSR in a fair matchup. And the Russians have been interfering with U.S. elections since at least 1980. And Trump was colluding with them!!! That would sell. Posted by: FireHorse at August 08, 2019 10:14 PM (jh17W) 70

I visited New England once - Lobster everywhere was nice. As to the rest? Lil' old Lafayette, Louisiana is not that big a town, and yet it has 3 or 4 restaurants that are some of my all time fave's, PreJean's being at the top.
now I'll take that back for one restaurant on Esplanade Street in New Orleans a while back, don't remember the name, went there for Sunday champagne brunch and - my god, that meal still pops up in my dreams. all the crab, all the shrimp, all the hollandaise whatevers, all the braised shellfish, you could eat and 5 more tables of stuff, and all the Mimosa's you could drink - now that was a feast for the ages. There is a sh*tstorm going on with the so-called elites and all they are doing to try to take down Trump and his supporters.
In spite of that, I try to think positive. Trump has his eye on the big picture and lots of people in his administration are working hard to make things go right for America. It's not always easy, and there are times when I just want about half of the country to pack up and leave. But in the end, America and her citizens will be, if not fine, then better than we are now. I can remember the hag mentioning "17" intelligence agencies during the debates.
I thought to myself at the time, aw stfu, then, What? there are 17? Posted by: booknlass ________ The number 17 has many interrelated meanings. The Number Seventeen is a Hitchcock film in which a train crashes into something and pushes everyone out to sea. Billy Kilmer, an NFL quarterback, wore number 17. His name -- related to Killmer -- could be decoded as "kill" and "sea" (from mer. So there's the movie and the football player, which ties into 9/11 which occurred near the Atlantic Ocean, which was historically called the Western Sea. Also (and this will blow your mind) a 9 is an upside-down 6, and 6 plus 11 is 17. Get it? "17" means "9/11." "Seventeen" was also a song by Winger. This one is obvious: WINGer -- as in airplanes which have wings, like the ones that crashed into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Hillary Clinton, more than anyone in the world, would know about this. Consider her campaign slogan and logo: "I'm with her" with her "H" logo. The slogan has 9 letters, plus the 8th letter of the alphabet. What's nine and eight? You call her "the hag" but she was trying to tell us the truth. You just refuse to accept it. ;-) Posted by: FireHorse at August 08, 2019 10:59 PM (jh17W) Posted by: garrett at August 08, 2019 11:00 PM (IVoO9) 195

We will have God to thank, and his instrument, PDJT. Posted by: Legally Sufficient ======= In a weird way, I'm grateful for SpyGate. A great economy and strength abroad won't be enough to ensure Trump's reelection. He also needs to take down the criminal Democrats. A thorough exposure of their crimes and coverups will be needed to discredit them and make a few people see that they've been lied to for years, their gods are clay, and their "enemies" (us) were right all along. The danger is, this won't work unless every last cockroach and their offenses are exposed. Posted by: Blonde Morticia at August 08, 2019 11:18 PM (9diux) 228

"I can't believe I'm at this point, but I'm all for commuting Blago's sentence. "
Same here -- and I'm an IL resident who actually had a very very minor role in Blago's impeachment process (doing research for a state agency director who testified at the impeachment hearings). Yes, Blago was a sleazebag who should never have been governor, but 14 years in prison (not 1 for what he did seems kinda excessive. Plus, nothing he did ever killed anyone, which is more than can be said for his immediate predecessor, George Ryan* -- and Blago's already done more time in the clink than him (7 years). *Ryan, a Republican (corruption in IL is truly bipartisan) went to prison for having sold commercial drivers' licenses to unqualified drivers in the early 90s when he was IL Secretary of State (before he was governor). One of those drivers was involved in an accident that killed 6 kids from one family. Speaking on WHAS 840 in Louisville, the Kentucky Republican said President Donald Trump called him Thursday morning and is "anxious to get an outcome and so am I." He said the two talked about various proposals that will be "front and center" in Senate discussions, including so-called red flag warning legislation that would keep guns from people deemed a threat by their friends and family members, as well as expanding background checks. "There's a lot of support for that," McConnell said, referring to legislation championed by Sen. Pat Toomey, R-Pennsylvania, and Sen. Joe Manchin, D-West Virginia, who are hoping to revive legislation that would extend background checks for nearly all gun sales. A similar effort died in the Senate in 2013. "The urgency of this is not lost on any of us," McConnell said. But he noted the bar for legislation includes passing the House, garnering 60 votes in the Senate and a presidential signature. He did not rule out looking at a ban on assault weapons, but noted there is a dispute over whether the 1994 ban that expired in 2004 had showed results. "It's certainly one of the front and center issues," he said. "But what we can't do is fail to pass something. What I want to see here is an outcome, not a bunch of partisan back and forths, shots across the bow."... Posted by: David at August 08, 2019 11:54 PM (jY1B4) 303

How hard are goldfish watched?
Posted by: Aetius451AD ________ Based on my experience, not hard enough. I had a goldfish -- it was really my girlfriend's at the time, but I digress -- she went out of town for a weekend told me to watch it. I didn't. I gave it food every day but I didn't watch it. Anyway, she got back late Sunday night, had to go through police barricades, real hassle, she said "What's going on?" Her tone was accusatory, like everything was my fault. Little did I know at the time. We ended up moving in together and I still never really looked at the fish. Meanwhile, trouble started brewing in our town, and mass graves were being uncovered in the Balkan Peninsula. Next thing I know, we're bombing Belgrade and sending troops into Kosovo. After a few years the goldfish died and things coincidentally settled down. Needless to say, I learned my lesson. Posted by: FireHorse at August 09, 2019 12:09 AM (jh17W) 338

Look up the website for Guy Fieri's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives", TV show. He has featured LOTS of Hawaii eateries on many of the islands there. It's all clickable. I've never been there, but mine would be The Arizona, the Punch Bowl and other historic Pearl Harbor monuments and museums. Likely a helicopter tour, too. But so often, local culture is best appreciated over a table of tasty local fare, hence the "DDD" advisory. Have fun! An illegal alien with a criminal history was ordered deported from Colorado by an immigration judge last December. In January, he sought refuge in a church and played the sympathy card in the media as if he had an entitlement not to be deported and "separated" from his family. He wasn't deported. Now, in the ultimate avoidable death, this illegal alien with a long arrest record allegedly killed Sean Buchanan last Friday in a reckless driving crash. Mr. Buchanan is now separated from his wife and five children, permanently, in the grave. Posted by: Bertram Cabot, Jr. at August 09, 2019 12:29 AM (aKsyK) 389

I won't go into detail, but the keel and rudder plan matters more than just a little. All in all, a very professionally executed, well made boat. Ambrose Bierce was like Don Colacho Davila : an epigramist. He could turn a phrase that pissed you off because you knew he was probably right.
Bierce wasn't so hot at spinning out full length stories. That, Mark Twain Clemens could do. Same with Oscar Wilde. Posted by: boulder t'hobo at August 08, 2019 11:27 PM (ykYG2) Novels are short stories with lots of padding. Bierce's short stories, particularly his Civil War ones, are great. Maybe that has to do with him serving in the Union Army and being wounded in battle giving him a hard-boiled, realistic perspective in his writing. But then I'm a Bierce fan. His 'The Devil's Dictionary' is also, um, novel in that the entries/definitions were either terse sentences or poems, with some of those poems being very good in their own right. One entry that still rings true is this: conservative, n., A statesman who is enamored of existing evils, as distinguished from the Liberal who wishes to replace them with others. @ choogle.
When built to standard a West System layup and build results in a very strong hull. Heavy, but STRONG. Which is exactly what you want in Blue Water. We're not talking about lightweight racing boats here. That "narrow" stern is what's called a "Canoe Stern". The better to lose your guns from, of course. Advantage? In heavy "following seas", the stern breaks the wave pretty much the same as the bow. So, the boat rides up over the sea, as opposed to a large wave impacting and "breaking" against a square stern. This is called "pooping". You don't want your boat to be pooped. You might want to poop FROM the Poop Deck, but again, you don't want your boat to be pooped. Some other details I'd wanna know. How are the chainplates affixed? And where? Specs on the standing rigging? Wire or Rod Rigging? I see a frame for a Bimini and Dodger. Is the Sunbrella for those on board, or yet to be made? And after that, minor nits, at best. Yeah, all the electronics are no longer current. Sell 'em at the flea market, and replace with new. ALL of it, including the VHF. Biggest expense yet to incur? No sight of a dinghy or davits. Or engine for the dink. That's not gonna be a cheap add to the boat, but an absolutely necessary one, to be sure. All those opening cabinets are not "hiding spots" from Customs or etc. Hiding spots are recesses in the core structures which do not have "finger hole" access with internal latch systems. Great for heavy seas, lousy for Customs. For Customs, you want to think along the lines of false fuel tanks, extra spaces behind critical engine components, and etc. I won't go into detail. Trade secrets, you understand. Suffice to say that guns are VERY hard to hide on a boat. Customs and such has seen it all. And you/me/they haven' thought of it all much beyond that. Good luck to all that endeavor there to persevere. Jim Sunk New Dawn Galveston, TX Posted by: Jim at August 09, 2019 01:32 AM (QzJWU) 440

Posted by: kahall at August 08, 2019 09:59 PM (fq7/e)Unpleasant story, but for a few months late last year and early this year I worked at a Walmart here in Asset Protection. They [Corporate] are Bug F--- Crazy, so I left. However, here we are an open carry state. [And to be honest our sheriff and our last few sheriffs have been great believers in concealed carry permits.] Here in Colorado, in the absence of local ordinances or store policies [which have to be posted] individuals can come into Wally World with holstered pistols or slung long guns and be perfectly legal. If you buy a firearm here, a Walmart Manager has to carry it to the door in the box before giving it to you, then it is yours. Missouri may have different laws, or that Walmart may have posted policies against bringing in weapons, but if they don't I think that unless it can be shown that he was brandishing or "menacing" they would probably have to drop it.Subotai Bahadur Posted by: Subotai Bahadur at August 09, 2019 01:48 AM (bUd3M) 445
AOP. A survey is a must, always.
Buyer's fever is the AIDS of the boat shopper. That stipulated, that is at the very least, worth twice the asking. PROBLEM though, is that it's not an "entertainment friendly" layout. AT ALL. Here's the thing. Boat architects today make boats that WOMEN want to buy. Why? That "entertainment" thing. They want to be "hostess" aboard the S.S. Mostest. Bragging rights. Those layouts suck on the open ocean. Bennetau makes a strong boat. Below-decks, a USELESS boat. Great layout for too many people on board being seasick, not helping a damn bit with seakeeping on deck. Fuck that shit, in particular. I've done, and am done with, jury duty so this is one more thing to cross off as having 'been there, done that'. It'll be interesting to see how the election sausage is made, how votes are tabulated, etc. Being 'retarded', as my Mom called retirement, I have the time. We shall see what we shall see this morning. They may take one look at me and say, 'Ah, hell no!' Oh, and I won't wear my 'Molon Labe' t-shirt. IIRC, the Allen PD stuck the shooter's mom's call at the bottom of the stack, and when they did get around to contacting her, they told her there was nothing they could do (most likely incorrect).
