I bring a gift for the 'Ettes! Or a curse, ya know, whichever. I know women aren't ever really happy unless they're judging and comparing themselves to others so I think this will really please you all. Little preview thingy. https://mobile.twitter.com/HOUSEOFMACLEAN Make up tutorials by a transvestite Englishman named John Maclean. About time to take the beef ribs off the grill. A few hours around 275 degrees indirect heat, hickory and black cherry chips in steel smoker box and foil pouches [grill, not smoker, but I keep experimenting to see if I can get the flavor into anything other than whole chicken, which does work]. Marinated 24 hours in red wine/garlic/worcestershire/etc.
Previously frozen. Very cheap. Have not done much with beef ribs, want to explore a bit. Unfortunately the good stuff, short ribs, are now $ rather than cheap. I remember as a teen my mother had short ribs marinated for 48 hours that I grilled for us - the aroma was so amazing that our dog actually cried/whined as I cooked them. But she got the bones for weeks, so not totally a loss for her. Posted by: rhomboid at August 02, 2019 10:16 PM (QDnY+) 43

My son uses the fake voice Alexa. sometimes. I don't want some computer voice speaking to me aside from GPS-which is kind of annoying anyway. Alexa is creepy-like HAL from 2001. Don't want to use it.

Seen both sides of the Atlantic but not the Pacific. I'd like to at some point. I'd prefer sometime before I'm dead. Chaco Canyon and Canyon de Chely are worth seeing as well. Posted by: garrett at August 02, 2019 11:25 PM (HsdYX) I was actually able to climb up the one knoll and see the Sun Dagger the last summer it was open to the public; for many years now it's been restricted for fear that someone would damage it. It's a spiral carved into a rock face behind some curiously piled boulders on top of a small peak; on June 21 each year, a shaft of light comes through a crack between two of the boulders and passes perfectly through the exact middle of the spiral. In one of the large rooms at one of the Great Houses in Chaco, they found the skeletons of a couple of hundred parrots that they must have imported up from central Mexico. Desolation Canyon (been fortunate to see it from the 10,000 foot level rather than the Green River level). Horseshoe Canyon (at the western edge of Canyonlands) we rode down into on horseback to see pictographs. The Colorado River canyon upstream from Moab has the gigantic red rock canyons. You could take a boat that went up the canyon at just before sunset and once darkness fell, they would light the canyon walls with giant lights.

I have ridden all over that country. On a mtn bike. Also was one of the last people to ever drive all of Canyonlands Roads. We were back in there taking color plates of the Pictographs for the U of Az. the last season it was legal to drive offroad in the park. That was an amazing trip. My dad with his Toyota Land Cruiser once hired a Navajo Guide to go way back in Canyon De Chelly, to see some spots that normally are very difficult to get to. It's on the reservation, so rules say you gotta hire a Navajo to take you anywhere off the beaten path on the res.
The Navajo reaction to the ruins was interesting - it was his job to go with us, but we could tell he didn't like it and really didn't want to do it at all. And he wouldn't go into them at all like us fool whites. Talking with others who deal with them, the Navajo know that it wasn't their people who built those, they had nothing to do with them, and they consider them to be places full of old bones and bad spirits that they've got no business being around. The next AOC video I see will be the first. As for rinsing rice,
that is pretty standard. Obviously there are many types of rice and applications so it is situation dependent. Now, rinsing pasta is a big no no in most applications. For some reason this little dialog popped into my head. Imagine two dudes having a discussion which gets a little contentious. I'll leave it to you to ascertain the political leanings of the two players:
Dude 1: "You think you're better than me, don't you?" Dude 2: "I don't know... Do you think I think I'm better than you?" D1: "Yes! Because you do!" D2: "Well, then I guess I am better than you." D1: "No, you're not! You just think you are!" D2: "Look, I think that we can agree that thinking of yourself as better than others is bad. Call it egoism, narcissism, whatever. Right?" D1: "Yes! See? You admit it!" D2: "So, all else being equal, the person who thinks himself better than the other person is the worse of the two." D1: "Right!" So how is it that Kathy Griffin is uninsurable? Can someone tell me? I'm intrigued. Because Lloyd's of London will insure just about anything. Posted by: Miley, the Duchess at August 02, 2019 11:34 PM (NMAzL) I'm guessing production companies can't get their projects insured if she's involved, because of the liability of having a talentless loose canon involved, who could bring the curtains down with one stupid tweet. Posted by: Average Guy ===== Yes, Average Guy got it. No one will finance a film without a completion bond, which is like insurance in case the production goes bust. Some actors are considered poison to completion bonds, Marilyn Monroe being perhaps the most notorious case. She was called "uninsurable" in the late stages of her career because no one would issue such a bond in any production she was involved in. Lindsay Lohan also enjoys this status now. I guess Kathy Griffin falls into the same category, although I'm not sure why. No, really. She'd show up to work every day and do her best, so I'm not sure what she means when she says she can't get insurance. Posted by: Blonde Morticia at August 03, 2019 01:32 AM (13CQC) 329

know you can't shame leftists but this was really over the top. Here is a link though I think the original article was in the Washington Compost. https://tinyurl.com/y5345lul So mainstream papers post an article by a drive by saying Mueller deserves a Medal of Honor for his performance in front of Congress. How could this not get major blowback? She argues this guy deserves a Medal of Honor because he answered with short sentences and did not get riled up. I guess the education system is so poor that it is ok to say someone deserves a Medal of Honor for basically supporting your view and acting the way you wish they would act during an interview. I get Mueller served his country, but that has nothing to do with it. You don't get to say people deserve a Medal of Honor because you like them or for any reason other than gallantry above and beyond on the field of battle. I realize this is 2019 and absurdities fly on the net and in the media on a constant basis. But this is just crazy that MSM papers put this crap out. It is an insult. "At this point, you'll have to uninstall MS Word, drive around the block three times, make love to your GF, place a magnet in your hard drive, tweeze off your "S" key, and then reinstall all your graphic drivers. The title says he deserves "a medal" which is NOT what she said. And the end of the article she says he deserves a Medal of Honor. Fake news covering for each other. And Parker doubled down on Twitter saying she "hosted a Medal of Honor Ceremony" in her home. WTH? Again I get the shite flies constantly these days but there have to be certain boundaries. What is the issue here? Posted by: Quint at August 03, 2019 03:33 AM (n13/j) The devil is in the details. First of all, there is no conceivable reality in which SLS will be "ready later this year". Its first test flight is currently sometime in 2020, and they are actually discussing skipping ground tests in order to keep it from slipping into 2021. The discussion of SpaceX being more about public relations than accomplishment is "not even wrong" as the saying goes. Substitute Boeing and SLS for SpaceX and the description is much nearer the truth. Projection much? The comments at Transterrestrial Musings take apart the article better than I can. The author is suspected of being a paid shill for Boeing. Posted by: rickl at August 03, 2019 03:54 AM (sdi6R) Posted by: rickl at August 03, 2019 04:02 AM (sdi6R) 365
