The Morning Rant

talking ape.jpg
"I was listening to the NPR coverage of the arrest of Epstein on sex trafficking charges, and it was almost funny how their spin was such blatantly obvious attempt to tie him to Trump in any way they could. They made sure to point out how Trump called Epstein "a terrific guy" in 2002 and how Alexander Acosta, who is now Secretary of Labor in the Trump Administration, was involved in a sweetheart plea bargain deal that saved Epstein from serious consequences. NPR did NOT talk about Trump kicking Epstein out of his club in 2009 or that one of Epstein's victim’s lawyer mentioned said Trump was so much help that the he didn’t even need to take a deposition from him. Nope, none of that was considered important enough to mention. If this were a legal setting, NPR’s coverage would be called withholding exculpatory evidence, which is actually a crime. Oh, and of course Bill Clinton’s much stronger connection to Epstein, including multiple visits to his private island on the “Lolita Express” jet, was mentioned only in passing, and Epstein’s $25,000 donation to the Clinton foundation was mentioned not at all. No, the REAL issue was how Epstein could be connected to Trump. The MSM's obsession with digging up dirt, *any* dirt, on Trump has become so deranged that even if they produced an actual video of him strangling an underaged hooker, my first reaction would be to think that they were using faked footage. They seem to have absolutely no clue how all of their incessant OrangeManBad coverage is really damaging their credibility."

28 As a Maine resident, that "least diverse" thing is rapidly and actively changing.

The Expo in downtown Portland has over 200 Congolese "refugees" in it. They've apparently setup their own pseudo government in there already while the city figures out what the hell to do with them.

What gets my goat is that my town, which has had nothing to do with that mess next door, has decided to just fork over $10k of town funds to groups helping to process their asylum claims. This is AFTER our property taxes were raised yet again to fund the town budget. I'm livid that we have $10k to just hand over when I've been asked to pay more. Clearly what I was paying before was more than enough.

Anyways, Maine may have a low violent crime rate but its going up. Lewiston is almost a no-go zone now due to Somali refugees being relocated there and subsequently turning it into Mogudishu.

82 What gets my goat is that my town, which has had nothing to do with that mess next door, has decided to just fork over $10k of town funds to groups helping to process their asylum claims.

163 When Diane Lane was 15 she moved to Hollywood with Christopher Atkins, the boy opposite Brooke Shields in Blue Lagoon. He's also in a ton of movies that Red Letter Media has mocked, including Beaks, Quigley, and Shakma. They never mention that he was in Blue Lagoon but there's no way a group of movie freaks like them are unaware of that.

164 Unfortunately, the arresting agency is the Southern District of New York, the judge is a Clinton judge with a near 100% socialist judicial record, and one of the prosecutors brought on board is Comey's daughter. While this appears to be a Hail Mary, I suspect this was also done to INNOCULATE the presence of the Clintons and potentially many more other perverts, and to cherry-pick Epstein chomo-buds who have the most ties to Trump and, barring that, to create the narrative throughout the 2020 election season.
In short, Clinton will skate with a barely singed penis that probably penetrated the inside of a few dozen early- to mid-teenies. Sad.

He explained that "Credibility" derives from the Latin "Credo" and Middle English "Creed" -- but that the latter is a MacGuffin because, in the movies, Creed was a black boxer who didn't believe hot dogs were sandwiches and thus lost the heavyweight championship to a white supremacist boxer who didn't believe Rocky Road was an ice cream. And as a result, the word credibility obviously has no credibility.

Hope this helps ...

Now, Iceland is about the least diverse place in the universe. So what I do see, modeling her sweaters? A black woman. I'm pretty sure there are very very few blacks living in Iceland. It's just pandering and I can't see that it does anything for blacks.

CNN's Alisyn Camerota explains to black man why he was wrong to vote for Trump.

Camerota asked Darrell Wimbley why he seemed to disagree.

"It just amazes me," he replied. "This is 2019. The race relations, and the way that we perceive, the way we say things are happening in this country - I don't see it happening."

Camerota hit back saying "in terms of statistics there has been an uptick in hate crimes."

"You can say that," Wimbley answered. "I truly don't believe it because I don't see it. I can statistically say anything, but I don't see it."

Camerota then invoked the Anti-Defamation League, saying the organization charts hate crimes - and then Wimbley unloaded.

'Racism is not a microaggression'
"The Anti-Defamation League, the Southern Poverty Law Center -" to me those are Democratic institutions that will say and manipulate anything," he told Camerota. "Racism is not a microaggression. Racism is something painful and hurtful, and when we take microaggressions and turn it into 'the country is against black people,' we're literally slapping the people in the face that went through real racism."

1.Hikers poop along hiking tails without disposing of or covering.

2. Hikers are so high on marijuana that their poop contains substantial amounts of THC

4. Dogs not only eat human poop on hiking trails, they eat enough to ingest intoxicating amounts of THC.

5. A veterinarian says that this is commonplace not only in the Rocky Mountains but in places like San Francisco where the homeless sh!t in parks.

My Bon Jovi story dates back from late 80s or early 90s when our daughters were young teenagers and they and their friends wanted to go to the concert. My friend and I agreed to chaperone while our husbands rather went to the movies.

So there we were in the arena and I thought this will be great, I like their music and I like loud music but when they started it was so loud my ribs were vibrating. My friend was quite resourceful and rolled up tissues for us to put in our ears to make it bearable.

The kids of course were unaffected and had a great time. The entire audience stood up for most of the concert except me and my friend. We couldn't see much but we sat down and enjoyed the music once our ears were plugged up.

============

I have a new theory about that moment.

Superman starts the fighting calling Batman Bruce. He knows who Bruce Wayne is, who his parents were, and the coincidence of their mothers' names.

Beaten and facing a kryptonite spear, Superman uses the knowledge of Bruce Wayne's mother's name to try and get through to him.

It still doesn't really work, but I don't think it's as randomly stupid as originally thought.

383 362 I mean as dumb as the scene was I just thought it was getting into the one real vulnerable part of Batman's psyche - even though he's older and jaded he's still at heart a little boy who lost his parents so he's going to naturally empathize with someone trying to save their mom.
Posted by: Broseidon - New Work Computer, Same Work Ethic at July 10, 2019 12:11 PM (oZ6kz)

===========

That's part of the intention, I'm pretty sure.

But in the moment, Superman suddenly starts calling his mom Martha. It feels super random and like a first draft idea they never got to iron out.

Maybe if they had had Superman trying to bring up his mother's plight specifically, even going so far as to say, "Luthor has my mother," Batman not caring, and then Superman bringing out the Martha bit.

There should also have been a quick moment earlier where Superman looked up Wayne's history and saw Mrs. Wayne's first name.

It could have worked. I like the movie a lot more than many people (I've never seen the theatrical version, just the ultimate cut), but I still don't think the moment works.

Well the article is really a big nothingburger. They only mention one actual dog, whose owner saw him with a "chunk of something" in his mouth while out on the trail. The vet didn't mention how many cases of high doggies he's actually seen.

But assuming this actually happens, Occam's razor would suggest dog got into owner's edibles and owner was embarrassed to admit it, as opposed to dog found stray poop on trail and ate enough of it to get high.

Posted by: Tom Servo at July 10, 2019 11:44 AM (Kpl3J)

I'm only 30 (so a millennial, technically speaking) and I've always loved playing around with radios. My little sister and I used to amuse ourselves while waiting for Mom to get out of the grocery store by listening for the radio signature of lightning strikes on empty AM channels.

Once we settle down and have a house, I intend to get into amateur radio in a big way.
I'm certainly not typical for my generation. Neither is my wife, or my sister for that matter - she grew up to be a cop and possibly a bigger gun-nut than me. That said, out of millions of us I'm sure you could probably fill quite a few stadia with such "exceptions."

In the absence of a major war or other universal experience that cuts through the bulls**t, it seems a generation is doomed to be remembered by its loudest and most self-centered members, as the rest are too busy building a life for themselves and fulfilling the critical everyday duties of civilization.
